Gift Mark Children's 2 Chair Set, WhiteI'm using these for a photo project at school and they are the perfect size the white is perfect for projections and after my project is over my niece can use them

I was stupid when I purchased the table that matches these chairs because I thought the chairs came too.I was a little disappointed at how much I paid for the whole set (1 table, then 2 chairs), but it was a good purchase for our home. Our daughter is out of the high chair and likes to eat at her own little table.

Flames of War Open Fire! (2012)

Flames of War Open Fire!Flames of War

Having been a wargamer now for over 25 years the table top game Flames of War has taken me by surprise and outclasses all other games in the field. Of course it helps that I am also an armchair general with great interest in military history. The better you know the history the more fun the game is and the better you know the game the more sense military history becomes. For newcomers this book is not a complete game in itself, the game is played with minatures and you will need the core rulebook Flames of War but if minature wargaming is your thing then this is the best game I have played.

But Flames of War isn't just for history buffs, it is a detailed table top game in itself. Game play is tactical and competitive and the scale 1:100 allows it to become realistic. In fact game play is simple but yields realistic results and anything that makes sense is built into the system. As a game it stands out but with its ties in World War 2 it is fantastic.

Open Fire!

This is a superb start box and at a good value, in fact so good that most veteran gamers should want one or two. Battlefront, the company behind Flames of War, has produced a real good starter kit, everything needed is included, 2 full armies that would be far more expensive by themselves in the former metal range, one a mix of a British Armoured Company with allied US paratroopers and a German infantry force. Both of them ideal for any recreation of Operation Market Garden 1944 (think A Bridge Too Far ) with tanks; 6x Shermans, 2x Fireflies (a British modified Sherman with a heavier cannon) and 3x of the less known workhorse of the German forces the StuG assault gun Hitler's Tank Killer: HITLER'S TANK KILLER: Sturmgeschutz at War 1940 1945 (Images of War), anti-tank guns and lots of infantry and a nice V-1 Vengance bomb (worlds first cruise missile). Note! the product description suggest you only get 5 tanks total when they are in fact 13, the 5 tanks were in another box that has been discontinued. The detail of the models is great and more so it you keep in mind that these are 15mm or 1:100 scale. You also get all the rules needed, some very basic cardboard terrain to get you started and it is good to be able to just bring out everything from the box and get started.

Over all

A super value box for what is in my honest opinion the best table top game there is. Top marks!

It was one of his best gifts ever.He loves strategy games and this one is great!Any game that gets him off the computer is fine with us.

This is one of the best starter box sets for miniatures games. Period. Great for beginners especially but even existing players will find the new plastic miniatures to be very worthwhile too.

This is a all included introduction to Flames of War.You get German armor and infantry and American armor and infantry together with a complete rulebook. The miniature plastic infantry sprues look great and when the price of this comes down I will probably one or two more copies to bulk out my forces.

Beechwood Veneer Folding Go Game Set

Beechwood Veneer Folding Go Game SetI was looking for a good Go board (didn't care if it was folding or not).I was not willing to pay hundreds of dollars however.

My initial look on Amazon for a board therefore left me rather disappointed.Any 'inexpensive' boards had horrible reviews.Primarily due to being rather small in size, and having cheap plastic stones.

Deep down the list I stumbled onto this set.I was surprised that it wasn't reviewed/rated yet, but the description made it seem really good.Almost too good to be true for the price of $37.80 (and free shipping)

Upon receiving it, I'm very impressed. The board is much larger than you would think, absolutely full size Go board. It's very hefty (especially with the stones in it). It's a lovely dark color and the lines are painted on in gold paint.(Some people may complain that it's not the normal yellow color, though I like the change)The clasp is rather small, but seems to hold it closed well.

The removable trays are wood, covered in velvet.Basic, but nice, and much better than a plastic bag like many cheap sets come with.

The stones themselves are much better than I could have thought. They are a man made material as the product description mentions (a starch/plastic combo from what I understand), but they actually feel very good in your hand.Decent weight, and they 'rub' against each other making sounds in your hands just like real stones would.

The only two complaints that I would have, are that the hinge on mine doesn't allow it to 'perfectly' lay flat on one side ... so there is a little lip on that line.slight 'adjustment pressure' mostly fixed this, but it's still not perfect, IMO this is a usual problem with any board that folds open. The second 'concern' is just something I'm worried about for the future. As I said, the lines are painted (perhaps silk screened?) on.I think that if I carried this around regularly that the lines might wear off.To that end I'll probably be making a soft fabric carrying bag for it to stop any such 'rubbing off'.

Overall, I'm very impressed for the price, and would heartily recommend anyone else to buy it.

This is a beautiful tabletop board. The coloration is inverted from the "standard" Go board, with light-colored lines on a dark background instead of the usual dark-on-light. This isn't really a problem like it can be for chessboards where there can be confusion about which side is "black" and which side is "white".

The surface has a reddish hue, which complements the gold lines quite nicely. The stones come in zip-lock bags in felt trays (or is it velvet? I don't really know how to tell). It would be best to keep the stones in the bags when storing the set, since the trays fit into recesses on the "inside" of the folded board, and it's a little tough to tell which side you should open the board on to avoid spilling the stones.

The stones themselves are plastic (if you look very closely, you can see the molding seams on the edges, although you can barely even feel or see them when holding or looking at them without specifically looking for them. They have a smooth-feeling matte surface, giving them a texture remarkably similar to smooth pebbles you might find in the wild, although they don't quite have the heft of real stone.

My board had a slight cosmetic flaw, in that one of the tiny screws on the catch seemed to have gone in at a strange angle, but it doesn't seem to affect the functioning.

The only downside that I've found so far is in the "fun" factor: While Go is much simpler in its rules than other "classic" games like Chess, very few westerners are familiar with it, so expect to have to explain the rules if you just leave it on your office desk as I do. Unless you can find another human to play with, you'll probably have to play against yourself for practice, since there really aren't many good Go computer programs. To date, no computer has been able to play Go at a professional level, although you may be able to find Go puzzles (similar to Chess puzzles) online and in books.

My coworker and I decided that we wanted to start playing Go over lunch. Neither of us had ever played before, so we needed some equipment. Since I would be bringing it to work I needed something portable and fairly inexpensive; but since one of the reasons we wanted to start playing go was because of its aesthetic qualities, I didn't want to just use a cheap roll-up mat or something.

I hunted around on Amazon and found this. The reviews were positive and it was eligible for Amazon Prime so I ordered it.

When it arrived, I emailed my girlfriend: this is an astoundingly high quality board for the price! It's made of solid, good looking wood. The bottom of the board and the trays are lined with nice velvet or felt (I'm not smart enough to know which). The playing surface is glossy black with a golden grid painted on it. The stones feel good in the hand (though I wish they were just a bit heavier). And it even smells good: like nice wooden furniture.

The next day, while actually playing, my enthusiasm waned only a little when I discovered that the grid is not painted on perfectly straight. It's slightly crooked so that the center line starts on one side of the folding-edge and ends up on the other side. This doesn't distract from play at all, but it does explain why the board is so affordable.

Playing a stone with normal force doesn't produce a satisfy click, but it doesn't detract from the game too much.

This is an excellent portable set and, at the price, is also a good beater. If it gets damaged or stolen, you probably won't care like you would for one of the more expensive sets. I think this set hits the sweet spot on the price/quality curve.

I'd definitely recommend it.

I recently became interested in the game of Go, and played it on the computer for a while. I wanted to upgrade to a real board, but all of the fancy boards are incredible expensive, and initially all of the sets in my price range (under $50 let's remember it's a board game) were small and of cheap materials.

I found this one through a recommendation by the above user, and it lived up to its good review. The board is big: it's not one of those cramped sets that look big online but disappoint in person. This one is the real regulation size, and is visually appealing. It is relatively lightweight and allows a good amount of wiggle room to place the pieces.

It has a nice gold striping on the surface that is very slightly raised. The pieces are of a good weight and are very tough. They have a texture similar to that of smooth stone, and feel good to hold while you're thinking about the next move. They store in the convenient felt boxes that then fit inside the board for travel.

If you're like me and looking for a low-cost solution that won't disappoint, then this is a wise choice. Everything you need to play immediately, including a good rulebook in a quiz-style learning format, is included, and the price is great.

The board arrived on the fifth day after my order, with free shipping, actually sooner than I expected. It was undamaged save for a few marks in the gold striping which are hardly noticeable.

I deducted one star for durability because the stripes seem exposed and might accidentally be damaged when carrying the board, since they are silk-screened paint on the smooth surface, but this is nothing a soft towel or case won't prevent.

Overall, the set was better than I expected and a buy that left me satisfied.

Not having owned another board before, it is difficult for me to say how this one measures up. One issue that might concern some is the contrast, which I find to be excellent. The board is this pretty red color and the black stones show up against it easily, even from across the room. I know it's not the traditional color scheme, but I find this board aesthetically pleasing. The trays for the stones are also quite nice and fit perfectly in the board when it's folded. The clasp looks rather small, but is apparently strong enough to hold the board folded shut. As for the stones, I'm not sure what they're made of, but they work. They are smooth, but not too glossy. If I had my way, I'd make them a bit heavier, but the dimensions are right and they stand out on the board, which is important. Overall, from what I can tell this is a fine board and not at all a bad deal if you're looking for a full-size board that isn't incredibly expensive.

I actually bought this for my fiance. We LOVE monkeys, as he was born the Year of the Monkey. This "toy" does not get played with, but has a place in our bed. It is extremely soft and cuddly. If we had a child, this would definitely be a perfect cuddler for him/her.

Gund 15.75" Teach Me Elmo

Gund 15.75' Teach Me ElmoMy 2 year old daughter received this Elmo for Christmas.I opted for this particular Elmo for two main reasons: it doesn't make noise and I liked the educational aspect of this toy.My daughter loves to snuggle Elmo at bedtime and she plays quietly with it before she goes to bed, using the zippers and buttons. The price and quality are great.I highly recommend this Elmo!

My 2 year old received this toy for his Birthday and it's his favorite! He saw Elmo in the box and gave him a big hug.He sleeps with him every night now and takes it with him where ever we go.He likes to undo the velcro on the shoes, play with the zipper and the shoelace. It's pretty durable... whenever my sons leaves Elmo on the floor, the dog takes off with him.So far, no rips!I would definately recommend this toy!

I bought this for my daughter as a potty training prize. I was looking for an Elmo that didn't make noise, and I didn't want the 15 inch plush one that everyone seems to be complaining about the hard plastic eyes breaking. This seemed to fit the bill. The eyes in the picture appear to be cloth, but I was disappointed to find out that they were plastic. I decided to keep it anyway. Within a week of my daughter getting it, the pants split at the seams in two places. I returned it for a replacement, and the replacement's pants were split when it arrived. Needless to say, I sent it back too. I will not be trying my luck with a third one. I am looking for something different. If the pants weren't split, it would be great.

I appreciate that it is a toy with educational value, though the 2 year old is not yet ready to learn to tie his shoes or button, and also that it is a nice, cuddly, well made plush toy I can feel good about him snuggling up with at night. I am glad I chose this over all the high tech, non-cuddly Elmo options!

Neca Wizkids Heroclix DC - Justice League - Fast Forces 6-Pack Game

Neca Wizkids Heroclix DC - Justice League - Fast Forces 6-Pack GameIt's been a while since DC released a Fast Forces pack, but this one is worth the wait. Selling out nearly instantly, this pack includes the following figures:

1. Cyborg (75 points)

2. Superman (125 points)

3. Batman (100 points)

4. Wonder Woman (100 points)

5. The Flash (125 points)

6. Green Lantern (100 points)

Of these six characters, only Cyborg is of average playability. All of the others are very playable characters, and their low costs make it easy to include them on most any teams. They have a fair amount of synergy when played together, though four of them lack a Team Ability to grant them specific bonuses. Several of them sport some great special abilities and/or traits. Flash has a 50/50 chance of evading attacks, thanks to his trait. Batman's trait protects him from all attacks unless a friendly character has taken damage on the same turn. Wonder Woman becomes the only character who can take a non-free action after being carried, due to her unique trait.

There's a lot to like in this pack, and as I mentioned before, it is widely sold out. I was very surprised to see one listed for sale on amazon. The map included with this pack is also very nice. On one side is Paradise Island (home of the amazons) and on the other side is Gotham City rooftops. Both are unique and fit the them of the set very well. Overall, this is the best DC Fast Forces pack that been released, in my opinion.

Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden Doll Furniture - Bed

Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden Doll Furniture - BedThis is an absolutely beautiful bed!You cannot get better quality for your dollar. We shopped around for doll beds before purchasing this one and it was by far the best for the money. Similar beds in price were made from cheap plastic and stickers.

My daughter is in love with her American Girl doll's new bed. She was wanting one from AG, but the price was just too much. She very gladly settled on this one.

Shipping was very prompt and it's packaged very well.A little forewarning, if you are purchasing this as a gift, it does not come disquised. It is delivered by Fed-Ex in the manufacturer's box with a clear picture of the bed on both sides of the box.

Putting the bed together could not have been more simple. There are four wooden pieces (a headboard, footboard and 2 side rails). You are given four screws and a screwdriver to assemble it all.It took me about five minutes to sort and put it together!

The strength of this bed is far superior from other beds of it's kind. It's very sturdy, solid wood and holds much more weight than a single doll can produce. (ie: smaller siblings that may play on bed!)

If you're looking for an affordable good quality bed, get this one.You won't regret it!

From a person who actually owns the bed, it is a very nice product. My 3 and 6 year old actually can sit and stand on this bed. That is how sturdy it is.It is very durable.I would recommend this to your doll lover. The only negative aspect is that you cannot take the cover off and wash it.Otherwise, it is a good product.

These are of very sturdy construction and very well made. I can see my daughters playing with these beds in years to come. I am waiting to see Melissa & Doug's changing tables that might be a good match for the beds. My daughters have Pottery Barn cribs which are nearly 3 times the price and these beds compare in quality to those cribs. Defniitely recommend this to anyone with little ones who love to play and play with dolls as my little ones do...

VTech InnoTab 2S Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet- Pink

VTech InnoTab 2S Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet- PinkHOW ARE INNOTAB 2 AND INNOTAB 2S THE SAME?

If you're already familiar with InnoTab 2 you're basically looking at the same tablet. The design stays the same, with all of the keys in the same place. The only addition is the WiFi key, which tells you if the tablet is connected to the internet, and how strong your connection is (a four bar display).

Included Apps are the same.

VTech still decided not to include the rope for the stylus. In the manual they call it a "Wrist Strap Fastener" (Note: not included). But it's clearly not a wrist strap fastener, because the stylus has a rope loop hole in it, and the tablet has a hole in it right beside the stylus. The website even states it has a "stylus with hole for string." My husband thinks VTech doesn't want the liability of a child wrapping their neck in the rope, and put the responsibility on the parent to get the strap themselves; it certainly seems that way.

HOW ARE INNOTAB 2 AND INNOTAB 2S DIFFERENT?

Some people like to creatively take the tablets out of the box for setup before handing to a child as a gift. InnoTab 2 is a bit of a challenge; just use sharp scissors to break the tape and foldout the box carefully. InnoTab 2S, I am happy to report, is the easiest of them all! The tablet just slides out the top in a plastic covering; no tape, or attachments cut into the box. You simply pop the tablet out of the molded plastic, and there you have it! I feel like someone at VTech heard parent's frustration and decided to fix this... thank you!

The big difference with InnoTab 2S is the new wireless capability; but don't imagine browser capability. The WiFi is simply used for downloading apps from VTech's website. Your child can make wish lists with the Wish List app on their tablet; my son is only 3, so he's not using that feature... yet. Downloading apps is easy, but you don't purchase them off the tablet itself (that's good new, otherwise imagine all the apps your child might "accidently" buy). You purchase them off your computer, tablet, or phone (I haven't used that feature yet).

The look of InnoTab 2S is basically the same, but I enjoy the bold black inlay over the previous grey and pink choices. I think this way it looks more like quality hardware and less of a toy (that's just my preference, my son doesn't care). Oddly, the one I have is considered blue because of the color of the back, not the front, which is white. Even the rubber sides are grey, unlike the pink one which actually has more pink on it. I think the "blue" is less gender specific because the back looks more dark purple; something to think about for parents who need to share this tablet between genders.

Finger swiping on the InnoTab 2, my son was having problems with the tablet thinking he was selecting an app, which would cause it to load. With InnoTab 2S the opposite has occurred; now the tablet wants to swipe to the next page and not open the app. At 3, my son prefers using his finger, but the InnoTab 2S works best with a stylus and opens apps perfectly that way. This is a bit of a downer, but workable.

OVERALL REVIEW?

It pains me, because I really want to like the InnoTab 2S, but it has one big flaw that hasn't been fixed it's *still* s-l-o-w. InnoTab 2S takes 43 seconds to reach the app home screen. The InnoTab 2 took 37 seconds; we shouldn't be regressing here (I should mention, the LeapPad2 takes 21 seconds!). It takes InnoTab 2S a solid 8 seconds to open an app. I said it before, and I'll say it again, there's a lot of "loading" (read: waiting) going on with the InnoTab 2S, and it makes a difference to me.

Another thing I had a bit of an issue with is videos. The InnoTab 2S comes with the same memory as the InnoTab 2 (2GB). You can add an SD card to expand up to 32GB; that's a big plus, but I've never needed it with my son. This time I wanted to upload videos for him to watch. So I put a 16MB SD Card, that came with an old camera we purchased, into the tablet. Putting the SD Card in was easy. The slot is in the battery compartment; you'll need to remove the batteries. This is a nice touch, in a way, because my son can't get to it and loose it. But can I just say that getting the SD Card out is a pain!!!! Horrible design. My son can probably get it out easier than I can. My husband? No chance. It doesn't have the push-eject feature, so you have to extract it out with small fingers, or tweezers! VTech if you're reading this, please fix this.

Afterwards I plugged in the InnoTab using the USB cord to my PC, and pulled up an LLL file on the card. In that file you transfer your converted video, photos, music (supports JPEG formatted photos, and MJPEG/H.264 videos (avi)). Sadly, there wasn't much I could put on a 16 MB disk. BUT, it was really easy to transfer everything and find them on the tablet. The video was of decent quality with playback options. Unfortunately, I'm not willing (read: lack the time) to convert movies for use on the InnoTab when I already have them converted for the iPad. But, if this is a feature you like and want to use, you'll enjoy it! Also, as an MP3 player the sound quality is decent, not a lot of distortion.

So which do I recommend?

Either. The WiFi is a nice touch, but not necessary. And there are no big changes between the two, except the InnoTab 2S appears slower, and the color change.

In case you don't want to go looking for the reviews on the VTech InnoTab 2 Learning App Tablet White, which is the same, here are some things you might find helpful:

Screen size (2 ½" x 4 ½"), or 5" if you're measuring diagonally.

Require 4 AA batteries (not included).

Uses a stylus (comes with two).

Has a cartridge port for additional games and uses purchased apps.

3-9 year age requirement.

Swivel camera.

Can buy additional accessories like screen guard, cases, rechargeable batteries, ac adapters, and headphones.

Personalize for up to 4 players, plus 1 guest.

Has an eReader, MP3 Players, art studio, calculator, calendar, notes, clock, and most of your basic themed books and games.

Has a mic and volume control.

Parent tracker that allows parents to track their child's progress and success playing a game.

Rubber corners to help protect it from a fall.

Battery compartment is easily accessible, just slide a switch and it opens the compartment. This is where the SD Card slot is found.

2GB of memory, but can add an additional 32GB of memory with SD Card (not included). I've found 2GB is more than enough for our needs.

Can be played right away (just add batteries, not included). Need to spend less than 5 minutes setting up the tablet date, time, and personalization.

InnoTab has a tilt sensor like an iPad or iPhone and will tilt the screen if held horizontal or vertical.

Has buttons for brightening or dimming the screen, but don't expect much, there's only four bars and it doesn't make a lot of difference.

Has a "?" button that allows you to hear instructions again, or find out more information about an app (nice touch!). The InnoTab itself tends to repeat things all the time (it's a bit annoying). The tablet doesn't ever sit quietly when turned on and not touched, it constantly wants to talk to you; you'll need to turn the volume off.

Comes with manual.

Internal "kickstand" for standing the tablet up vertically or horizontal.

Plays converted videos. Quality isn't like an iPad or iPhone, but little kids won't mind.

()I love this. It helps the little ones to learn and play so easily with the big buttons to decide what they want to do and the touchscreen is fantastic. the stylus is not attached so it will probably get lost but otherwise the touch screen works very good. My grandaughter played with this and I believe she would have played thru the night if I had let her.One thing about this is you can put learning games on it and they think they are just playing games while they are really learning :)

Buy VTech InnoTab 2S Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet- Pink Now

()This kids tablet is a low cost tablet choice for the youngins, and while not bad, you get what you pay for.

The resistive 5-inch screen is of decent quality. The menus are colorful and fun looking. It takes a little more pressing down than a capacitive touch screen, like our phones, so the kids took a bit to get used to that. They included stylus helps with that. It is not very accurate for small movement (like drawing a small circle) with my finger. This also shows up also on the menu when tapping an app with my finger, sometimes it'll slide the menu instead of starting the app. Using the stylus helps with this.

While testing the screen, I opened up the art studio app, which had automatically saved what my daughter had been working on previously, so it saves progress pretty good, at least in this case.

The apps in the store are, as I write this, are on sale for $2.99, but the regular price is $4.99. It's a little high when I compare that most apps in the Android store (I'm an Android user) are free, or one or two bucks. You do get 2 free apps for signing into the PC software. There are also eBooks for $3-$5 dollars and videos, that are around 20 minutes, for $3.

The PC software is required for navigating the app store and also for tracking your kid's progress in apps and learning. I haven't had the chance to test all the tracking features yet.

On the tablet is a wish list creator where you child can browse apps and let you know which they want.

The tablet itself hives off the setup features decently, but if your kid can read and/or is clever, they can get into them.

One of the features is a content lock which isn't a restriction system to prevent content (which shouldn't be needed) but instead it prevents deleting content.

One thing I could not discover is how to delete a profile. There is also no way I can see to disable making new profiles. This could mess with all the tracking, if they are making new profiles and playing on them instead of the one they are supposed to.

Any big issue with a tablet is battery life. In a nutshell, it's really great for battery makers. Batteries die daily. But, you can use a 7.5v adapter (not a charger) to keep the tablet powered (needs batteries installed to work), but you will have to be next to an outlet to use the device. Great for knowing where your kid is, bad for taking it on a trip. VTech sells an adapter for a fair price. I'd rather they sell a battery pack that can be charged, but at this time, they don't.

Overall, for a hundred bucks, I'm not sure this is worth it. You could save up for a $200 Nexus 7 or a $159 Kindle Fire and have a lot more options, and a better experience (I don't have either, but I know you could easily set up an Android device to be kid friendly.

I'm a bit of a tech geek and sci-fi visionary, so I see things sometimes for what they could be, and the InnoTab 2s could be a lot better, but probably at a higher price.

It's not bad, and there's a good chance you kid wont mind a lot of the things that bother me. If money is the issue, it's a low price tablet designed for kids. If you have money to spare (or enjoy having credit card debt) I suggest you do a little more research at other options before buying this one for your child(ren).

I never write reviews but this warrants one. I researched this to death and was so sure I had gotten the right thing for my daughters 5th birthday. I chose it over the leapfrog tablet because of the wifi. The wifi doesn't work when downloading ebooks. You still have to use the cable. The wifi sucks up a lot of the battery power and is painfully slow. You have to install software to download anything and you have to use a computer to download to the innotab. This makes having wifi pointless. The software is soooooooo slow to connect. I just spent 30 minutes just trying to download some new games to the innotab but it didn't work at all. My daughter was drain.

()My nine year old and I have been exploring what we can do with the VTech InnoTab 2S Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet.First, the product is easy to set up but a little time consuming.Don't wait until Christmas morning. You need to load the learning lodge navigator on your PC.That seemed to take a lot longer than installing things usually does. The front of the box boasts 17 apps with the purchase of the Innotab. You have to log on to get them.I wasn't very excited about many of them.I can't figure out what the point of WiFi is on this. You need either the cartridges or you can try to load apps on but we used a cable because the wifi was too slow. The wish list feature is really annoying.I don't really want to get lists of things to buy.And speaking of buying things, the cartridges are $12-$17.That is a lot more than a book or a movie. The one thing that I was interested in was the Vtech University. However when I went into the Learning Lodge it says Vtech University is coming soon for the VTech InnoTab 2S Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet. That was a little frustrating.

So really for an older kid, this isn't a very exciting product.I wouldn't recommend it beyond age 7.I think she will enjoy the mp3 player and the ability to take video.I don't see us using it much beyond that.I do wish that the reader let me add books from public domain or the other ebooks I have already purchased.

I bought Crayola pencils for my 5 and 8 year old children because I needed something for them to color with in the car that does not melt on the seats.Crayons just weren't cutting it.The pencils have been very nice to have around. The 12 count boxes have just the number of colors to satisfy their creative urge.

The tips are finer than a crayon, of course, so they must spend much more time coloring a picture. However, they also have more control, so the pictures come out looking lots neater.

My kids press hard on the tip to make their colors more bold, but the lead does not break. It's a pretty hard pencil.

Given the choice, my kids still prefer crayons, but they will use the pencils on occasion, or when we are out and the only thing available are the colored pencils. In time, I'm sure they will begin to favor the pencils. They are definitely my choice for car trips.

We've tried these and the rose-art brand and hands down, Crayola is the best. They last longer, don't crumble in the sharpener, and the colors are more vibrant.Plus, the kids don't have to press so hard to get a nice color from them.My husband even uses them to grade papers!Great product for every day household use as well.Only ones we buy now.Highly, highly recommend!

Did I get a bad batch? These pencils break constantly!Sometimes the tip breaks off after coloring for 30 seconds, and other times it breaks off right in the sharpener.I tried leaving just a teeny amount above the wood but anymore than that it just breaks off over and over.My kids 8 and 10 try to be careful, and I just can't understand why these pencils won't last longer.I bought Crayola for the name but we've sharpened away about half of them after just a few pictures.Very disappointing.

Just what i needed for a decent price. They are crayola pencils, so you know that they are a good quality. Not much else to say!

Calico Critters Cozy Cottage Starter Set

Calico Critters Cozy Cottage Starter SetI am the mom to 4 boys: 10, 8 & twins that are 5.I find that they enjoy imaginative play & there are few products on the market that allow them to "play house" so I went in search of something for them.Although I purchased this cottage for one of my twins along with the bedroom set & the mouse family, I was surprised to discover that ALL of my boys play with it.We just spent the past 30 minutes on-line ordering each one of them their own families, the townhouse and more furniture.Even my 10 year old was excited to order his own family & furniture.I could not be more pleased with this series & hope that other parents purchase for their boys because there is nothing girlie about boys playing house with animals and using their imaginations.

I opened the box up and inspected the house because I wanted to be absolutely sure my granddaughters ages 3 and 5 would be able to play with it safely before I put the package under the tree. The high quality was a pleasant suprise. The girls began to play with it right away, and continued for at least 3 hours. Their mom has since reported that the girls love it and play with it often.

This is a really great set with some nice starter furniture. Most dollhouse dolls are just hideously ugly but Calico Critters are cute.

It's good for the kind of roleplaying imaginitive play that is important in young children, but would also appeal to a slightly older demographic than, perhaps, Little People because the extra accessory sets are so detailed.(Of course the littlest pieces can be put away until the child is older so they're not choking hazards.)

This is a great fun toy that will grow with my 3 year old. It is a good size and the critters that go with it are really fun especially since you can change their outfits. Also I feel it must be super durable because my 16 month old has gotten a hold of it a few times (there are bits that ofcourse are too small for under 3's so we have put them away until he will be old enough). But he has banged the other furniture around so thatwe have taken it away, but it has not broken. Now he has had a hold of my cell phone and broken that into bits, but not this toy with it's miniature furniture! I feel good that my 3 year old loves playing with this toy! Its wholesome.

WE got this for our 2year old for Christmas and it is great it is a perfect size for her, has just enough furniture and accessories for her to play, but not too much so she doesn't get distracted or confused. It doesn't have any small parts except for a toy knife (it is made of soft rubber, not hard plastic), which we confiscated right after she "helped" grandpa cut off the ribbon on his presents. She can spend an hour at a time playing, from hide-and-seek with the Bunny to role play. It is a great toy for a child who likes to role play, I am very happy with the purchase.

Miniatures Bases 50mm Bases (5) PIP 91003

Miniatures Bases 50mm Bases PIP 91003I would give them 4.5 stars if I could. They are exactly the quality that I expected, and they work fine as a base for miniatures. My only complaint is that the bottom (reverse side) is not flat.I wanted to put a felt base on them to keep the miniatures from scratching the board from one of my games. There are some raised plastic sections (from molding?) that caused me to need to fill in the gaps to make it a level surface. Not the end of the world, but it would have been nice if I didn't even need to.Fine product, just keep it in mind if you too planned on putting a soft base underneath.

These are official bases so they are what you need if you want to do it right. not much else to say.

Creative Converting Round Decorative 14" Placemat Chargers, Scalloped Navy Blue, 8 Mats Per Package

Creative Converting Round Decorative 14' Placemat Chargers, Scalloped Navy Blue, 8 Mats Per PackageI don't know why this review asks me to rate this "toy" as these are place mats, not toys. However, it will not let me continue without rating it, so I gave it 5 stars!I ordered these to go under the hurricane lamps at a business dinner meeting. They offered just the right pop of color to the tables on top of the white tablecloths. They are paper but are coated and super strong and we will be able to reuse them at the next function.

Gund Chomper Shark 22" Plush

Gund Chomper Shark 22' PlushWe bought this toy for our 2.5 yr old son because he is obsessed with sharks every since watching the Disney movies "Oceans" and "Finding Nemo". He even named it Brucie. The toy is quite durable and well made, but still soft and cuddly enough to snuggle up with in bed. I docked it one star because the yarn eyelids stitched above the eyes have the potential to come loose if picked at and pulled. Otherwise, it's a great way to introduce children to these majestic sea creatures in a friendly and non-threatenin way.

Ker Plunk Game

Ker Plunk GameWe purchased this game for our children for Christmas, and it has quickly become one of their favorites. Two to four people can play, so the children can play by themselves, or we can play with them. The set up is fairly quick, but my main disappointment with the game is the sticks which are placed through the holes in the tube.It takes a long time to put all of the sticks in, and they are somewhat flimsy and can be bent or broken fairly easily. They also tend to fall out of the holes without being removed by one of the players.

Overall, this is a fun game. Our children enjoy counting each other's marbles to see who has won or lost.Beware of the marbles and sharp sticks if you have smaller children, as the marbles are a severe choking hazard, and the sticks could poke a child. If you can make it through the long set-up stage, the actual playing of the game is very fun.

This is supposed to be a smaller version of the original game for those who want the original try "Super Kerplunk Game"not much difference just more durable. This particular game takes a little time to set up count that as part of the game delegate first person puts in the first 10 sticks etc. etc.I LOVE THIS GAME.

I loved this game as a child and bought a new one for my 2 and 4 year old as a surprise.Unfortunately, it's complete junk. The tabs that hold the tube together are so flimsy that you can knock the tube apart by accident. Also, the plastic sticks are super flimsy and are not big enough in diameter to sit in the holes well.Setup is painstaking as the cheap sticks keep sliding out as you put others in.

My kids still have some fun with it, but frankly this is such junk that I am unlikely to ever buy another Hasbro product.I will be opting for wooden or non-conglomerate made toys that are better made.I certainly would have been willing to pay a few dollars more for this to be better made, but Hasbro is clearly skimping on materials to wring every last penny of profit.

Even worse, I bought this after returning "Tumblin' Monkeys", a similar game also by Hasbro. That one was even worse.I could not assemble the two plastic halves after an hour and the little tabs bent and broke very easily. When I returned it to my local store I actually suggested the not carry it, because it makes the store look bad.

This is a truly great game and underscores the adage "keep it simple, stupid"! All ages can play...even my 2 year old can pull out a stick and see if made a marble fall.I have only one complaint...the quality of the physical aspect of the game. Of course I had Kerplunk as a kid and the tube and tray & sticks were much heavier plastic. With this Kerplunk you must hold the tube to pull a stick out or the whole shebang will fall over. Maybe an original classic version will be produced.I have noticed this same skimping on other great games such as "trouble" and "don't break the ice" etc...I would pay a few more dollars for better quality but suggest you buy it "as is" anyway.

It's too bad, there are so many great, classic games that I remember playing as a kid, BUT the manufacturers have RUINED them make making them cheap and flimsy. This toy used to be made out of hard plastic and was very sturdy. THIS version however is so flimsy making it near impossible to even play. The sticks are flexible and are impossible to fit through the holes, they bend and break, and then you can't use them, so what's the point? Played just a handful of times before it was unusable. Such a shame!

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

Who Wants to Be a MillionaireThis version of Millionaire-At-Home works both better and worse than its CD-ROM counterpart. It's definitely better than even the CD SecondEdition in terms of the number, variety, and level-appropriateness ofquestions. The questions much more closely approximate those on thetelevision series than either of the two CD-ROMs. And the Phone-a-Friendlifeline is much closer to the show in that you actually CAN phone afriend, unlike on the CD-ROM.

Where the board game fails is in theimplementation of the other lifelines and in its dumbfounding lack ofmusic.

The 50/50 doesn't particularly work.On the show, it'seffective because Regis himself has no control over anything, and becausethe player's ramblings appear to determine which responses are pulled. Here, the person playing host potentially has too much leeway in decidingwhich choices will be nixed. To be fair, the CD-ROM isn't much better atcapturing the actual feel of this lifeline, either--its throwaways arepredetermined by code--but its approximation is at least fairer.

Similarly, the Poll-the-Audience option fails miserably.Instead ofbeing a more-or-less sure bet, this lifeline depends entirely on thebenevolence of the people you're playing against. There's no "audience" inthis game, because everyone's a player. It's in their interest to misleadthe person currently in the hot seat.Consequently, you'll likely get thewrong answer if you choose this lifeline-which goes against everything welearn from watching the show.

But the biggest drawback of this edition isthe lack of music. The show is entirely built around the music.Withoutmusic, Millionaire is nothing special. The music is the origin of 90% ofthe drama.A CD with the theme music should absolutely have beenincluded.

On balance, the Second Edition of the CD-ROM game wins out overthis one because you're just not going to have so many Millionaire-themedparties that it will matter that this version has slightly more questions. You might as well get the version that comes closest to approximating theoverall experience of the real deal.Hook your computer up to your TV, runthe audio through your stereo and enjoy a version that actually has Regisas your host.

I absolutely loved this game.I gave it away as an x-mas gift to my boyfriend and we played it with the family and they loved it.My dad is an extremely intelligent guy, but somewhat of a hermit and when we brought it to the table, he recognized it from T.V. and insisted on playing.Needless to say, he got to level 250,000 and we were all impressed.I did feel that some of the questions like the lower levels, under 32,000 were actually hard, and some of the higher questions, over 32,000 were a little easier. I guess it all depends on what you know. The game show asks questions like "what color is violet?" in the under 32,000 category and the board game asks questions like "what is cabernet?" so that is your difference. Over-all it is a fun game and really brought our somewhat distant family together. Thumbs up!!! I only hope they have additional boxes of trivia to add to the game like Trivia Pursuit, since you play the game so-often you start to be familar with the questions. It would be nice to have addditional boxes of trivia to pertain to the game to add more excitement.Definetly worth the buck!

The price seems to be hovering around the same area everywhere, and it's absolutely worth it if you can afford it.
