I agree with most of what has already been said in review of this product...

BUT I think, even if you measure it out beforehand, and know you're getting a itsy bitsy table (though with a great drawer, I agree) it just isn't roomy enough for easy play (if you have one of the larger houses). If you buy the playground, have fun trying to squeeze it in there somewhere. If you buy any of the really cute 'play-place' stuff that Calico Critter sells, like that thing with the hot air balloon, or even the little Ferris wheel. Not good (there isn't anywhere to fit that in!).

If you have one of their small houses maybe it would work but then you can't fit all the fun furnishings in those.

I think if you don't have a lot of calico critter things it would be great. For example; If you had a few families and a playground, then I suppose it would be very good.

I hope someday they put out a play table that actually fits their hotel or their big house WITH room for a playground or other such things. Calico Critter toys are my favorite (as far as toys go) because they're fuzzy, cute and have a lot of dear accessories! Playmobile toys are a very close second (but they lack in fuzziness).

I bought this for my peace of mind. So many peices with this collection!But this is a great way to store all the Critter stuff. The drawer is large and the edges keep things from ending up on the floor. We have the large house with the green roof and it just fits with a little room all around. You could also just use the table to play without a house as there is a scene painted on the table.

I used a power screw driver and put it together in about 20 minutes (I'm pretty good at assembling things). It is very sturdy and has lots of bracing at all the corners. I have one visable chip on a corner but since I got this at a crazy low Amazon price I'll just get out some white paint and deal with it. FYI Ships in original packaging.

We got this table for my 3 year old to accompany her brand new Deluxe Village House.My Mom and I assembled the table all by ourselves.The directions for assembly were only pictures no words.They were still pretty easy to figure out.It went together pretty easily except for one finicky screw and Bolt (well, I'm not sure if the thing is actually called a bolt...so you see I really am not gifted witha ssembly).My arms were sore by the end (this table requires tons of screws 64!) but no major mishaps.All the holes were properly aligned.Once completed the table was sturdy and looked strong.The drawer is very spacious.As others mentioned, there are no compartments but we put the little pieces in a small tupperware container without the cover.

The table is a must have for calico critter fans.A dollhouse at table level is easier to play with.Plus with all of the teenie tiny pieces, they are much less likely to get lost since they will not end up on the floor.The wall around the edge of the table keeps the piecs from sliding off.The table is a great height.My tall 3 year old and gigantic 4.5 year old can easily play with it and there is plenty of room to grow. The designs on the table are cute and the top has nice scenery too.Overall, it was worth the money and tired forearms.

The table is precious and is sturdy.Our problem is that the drawer screws did not line up right and cause the drawer panels to bulge and probably will crack and break if not reinforced.The instructions were good and table itself is sturdy.We tried to get a replacement drawer from International Playthings and they could not provide a replacement drawer because it was made in China.They should keep replacement parts.Amazon answer immediately but could not provide a replacement drawer.They would pay shipping back and give us a full refund. We put it together a few days before the party so little eyes could not see and did not have time to get and put another table together again. What if the 2nd one had a problem with table not the drawer? We did not want to go to the trouble of sending it back because we would have to take it apart to put in the box and then put another together.We are the Grandparents...too much trouble.We are going to try to fix the drawer and Amazon did give us a little refund to help on the drawer since it is a large item to return.The whole problem could have been solved easily with replacement parts. If I had it to do over again I would buy it locally so I could deal with the seller or have them put it together.I buy a lot from Amazon and have been very pleased with every purchased except this one.You are dealing with too many parties to get complete satisfaction.They did what they could, I guess.

We got this train set from Amazon for our 10and 13-year-old sons for Christmas, so we've had it one week. Chose this brand because they already had a second-hand train that was Life-Like and wanted to be able to add the new set to the old one. Everything works great together and they're having a great time with it. Just today started assembling the various shantys, signs, and signals. We paid just over half the "list price" so feel like we got a really good deal on a good-sized set. Contrary to another review, what came in the box was exactly as described and pictured.

This is a fine starter set. I am experienced in trains and was really into the hobby as a child 35 years ago so I knew what to expect at this price point(super inexpensive for trains). I will update this review at weeks end, but it did come with everything as shown. I think one poster did not realize the tunnel was made of paper and has to be made by the buyer or maybe they just got a bad kit.

I bought this item for 5 grand daughters ages ranging from 3-6 they all loved it. It was easy to assemble once we got through the first one.. Pass the Pigs

I am a teacher and I use this game with my kids at school all the time.They LOVE it from grade school to high school depending on how you use it.

I don't really follow the rules that came with it, only the values of how the pigs land.I have used it often in an afterschool tutoring program were we often practice math facts and addition.I took the instruction sheet from the game, found the place where they have the pigs drawn and what the rolls are worth, enlarged it on the copier so all the kids (usually less than 6) can see it at the same time (and of course, colored the pig drawings pink!)Then each student rolls, finds what his roll is worth, and adds his score.The first to pass 100 points wins.We sometimes start with 100 and subtract our score -the first to zero (or less) wins.We have played where I announce at the beginning of the round that "This roll will be multiplied by 7"..the kids all cheer "Come on doule razorback!"I was amazed how fast they learned what each roll was worth.I would have liked to try something with fractions, but my study group wasn't ready for that.(For example, you could make each roll worth a certain fraction and they would have to add them up at the end of the game.)

We have also used it to study for tests.I ask them a question and if they get it right, they get to roll.I am sure you could adapt it to lots of subjects.It is just a fun way to do rote things with a little more fun.

I have also used it with younger kids who cannot add yet.I drew them a 100 square (a little block about 3"x3" divided into 10x10 grid) and made a bunch of copies.Then they roll, find their score on the scoresheet, then color in that many squares with a marker.Nice counting practice, and visual of how much different coloring in 20 is from coloring in only 5.I sometimes ask them "Look at your paper and at Joe's.Who has more squares colored in?How many do you need to catch up?"

I really don't see any problem with the competing, and I sort of like the added benefit of learning HOW TO LOSE (which few seem to know) and other sportsmanship behaviors.

The only problem I have seen with the game is that the little black dot (on one side of the pig) wears off and I have to keep drawing it on with a sharpie.Also, after about a year, their little piggy tails are hardly hanging on.I need a new set.

GET THE GAME....have fun, change the rules, make up new ones...the pigs are the motivation...you decide what you want them to learn from it.OR learn nothing and just play.You'll like it.

Pass the Pigs is a variation on Yahtzee, with the fun little pig dice being thrown into different combinations with various point values.

It's a great game to take on trips, or to pull out when entertaining children of various ages; everyone can enjoy it.I've played with children as young as 4 and had a fine time.

Although the rules of the game rely on the player taking a turn until he or she determines that luck is about to run out (at the risk of losing all accumulated points), this can easily be modified (esp. for younger children) so that each player throws the dice in turn and records points.

The educational value is in using mathematical skills, and pattern recognition skills, for younger players.

This game is very durable, but it would be a sad day indeed if the little pigs were ever lost.Luckily, all the parts (pigs, score pad, pencil) fit into a neat little case.

I really like this game for a number of reasons. First, because it's fun for kids AND adults to play, second, because it is very small and portable, and third, because it does require some math, giving it some educational value. It is also a quiet game requiring only a flat surface on which to roll the pigs and enough light to see them. It's nice that there are also so very few parts to lose (2 pigs,pencil,& paper-all in a case).

We keep a set in our car, and when we are waiting to be seated or served at a restaurant, it's a great way to pass the time.It also makes a nice little gift for friends going on a trip. I only wish that I had thought up such a simple, but clever game!

For under $10, those who have never seen this game before will get their money's worth just by looking at the package. Barbie Collector Jonathan Adler Room Pack

This is one of the most fantastic collector pieces of furniture Mattel has ever produced, but the promo pictures do indeed differ from the finished product. The shoe pillow is switched with a pillow with glasses on it, and the black pillow with writing on it instead comes with a giant pink heart. They're also arranged differently on the couch, which is a problem because if you snip the threads holding the accessories in place, you'll never get them to sit correctly on the couch again.

While the blanket looks the same, the different pillows appear to be made from cheap acetate fabric, whereas promo photos would lead you to believe the pillows are made of more durable, higher quality fabric. I ordered mine direct from Mattel, so you'll get the same thing from Amazon that you would have gotten from the manufacturer.

The couch itself with the fabric, white piping and the overall finished piece are extremely nice and I would recommend this for any collector. I would however hope that future pieces not be hot pink (there's nothing wrong with pink, but there ARE other colors out there!). Four stars for the substitute pillows and hot pink-otherwise do something nice for your dolls and get this couch for your collection.

ETA: Check the comments below; apparently if you flip the pillows over, you get the patterns shown in the promo picture. The only caveat I would add to that is that the pillow fabric is VERY thin acetate, and I doubt if the flip sides could ever be made to look right. Thanks to BT for the info-I never would have thought to look at the undersides since the pillows are attached.

This couch is so cool! It is very good quality; a lot better than that cheap, plastic Barbie furniture. My daughter is going to love it for her dollhouse hat she is getting for Christmas. To bad Johnathan Adler dosen't make all kinds of barbie furniture for dollhouses. I have also ordered the doll that comes with the end table set. I can't wait to see it.

This is a soft fabric padded couch very much like a miniature of the real thing except that the real couch would have wood and this is very plastic.What you are paying for with the high cost is a very highly detailed and exception piece of furniture with which you can use for displays of your more expensive Barbies.The couch is large and likely not very useful for doll houses.But I have to admit I enjoy using it with some of my Gold Label Barbie displays.

If you have your adult collector Barbies displayed, you'll definitely want this couch.But I don't recommend it for kids or kids playsets due to the quality/high cost.The regular "Think Pink" Barbie furniture is more than suitable for children's playsets.

One problem with the companion Jonathan Adler Barbie Doll is that her legs don't bend (most of the model-barbies don't) so she won't sit on the actual.Was kind of disappointed with that.

I love this sofa. The quality is excellent, a lot better then the plastic furniture they have for Barbie, they really had the adult collector in mind with this. And I love that both of the pillows are reversible to cute. I hope Jonathan Adler makes more furniture for our Barbie friends.

Home Depot Power Tools Workshop

MY WIFE AND I BOUGHT THIS FOR OUR GRANDSONS 3&4 YEARS OLD. THEY HAVE PLAYED ENDLESSLY WITH IT. I WAS NERVOUS AT FIRST PURCHASE, BECAUSE I HAD READ SOME WEAK AND BAD REVIEWS. I GAVE IN AND BOUGHT ANYWAY. THE TOYS ARE A YEAR OLD AND STILL WORKING FINE....

Santa brought this to our 2 1/2 year old twins to replace a small wooden tool bench that just fell apart. This is MUCH nicer. It's a good size for the younger set (though my kids are towards the top of the growth charts) and yet does seem that it will grow with them for the next few years.

It comes with a ton of tools, many with lights and/or sounds. There are separate bits for the electric drill, safety goggles, non-power tools, stationary tools... Anything you could want, and possibly more!

It's a pretty big set-up, so be sure you have room for it. Also, it is made out of plastic, and the assembly is from bolts and nuts that go with the set itself, so it feels just slightly more flimsy. I don't have much doubt that it will stay together, but don't expect metal bolts to keep it in place.

My boys are playing with it almost as much as their new train the only thing they actually asked for and so I consider it a success!

My boys, ages 4 and 2, got this from their grandparents for Christmas. On the plus side: the boys really play together (pretending to work together) for quite awhile with it, there are lots of accessories included (power tools, hand tools, goggles) along with additional items you can get separately. On the minus side, the bench itself is not very sturdy being just thin pieces of plastic (not nearly as sturdy as a Little Tykes item), and the directions included were terrible. There were no written instructions, just pictures that were small and difficult to figure out.

Overall the boys love it, and they haven't destroyed it yet. However I'm glad someone else bought it for them.

Black And Decker Junior Power Tool Workshop

My boys, ages 4 and 2, love the set.They like how much noise the drill and saw make and they like pretending to use the screwdrivers and hammer.We've had it since last Christmas and all of the batteries are still going strong and nothing has broken yet!The only drawback is what to do with all the extra nails and bolts.The only project that comes with it is the birdhouse.It would be nice if it had more "wood" to screw together or if they sold it separately but so far I haven't found any other projects that could be built using these tools.I'll keep looking though!

I recently purchased this toy for my son's 2nd birthday and he loves it!! He is obsessed with Bob the Builder and he loves having tools just like Bob. It comes with a 'power drill and power saw' and also a little bendy lamp that he loves. I also have a 4 year old girl who likes it just as much as my two year old. It does come with some small nuts which I don't let him have but he is fine with the bolts and screws which he can hammer and screw into place. He is too young to do the tool box project that comes with the set, but my husband assembled it and he likes to use it to carry his tools around. I paid $69 for my tool bench and I think it was well worth the money. It was easy to assemble and has been by far his favourite birthday gift.

I bought Crayola pencils for my 5 and 8 year old children because I needed something for them to color with in the car that does not melt on the seats.Crayons just weren't cutting it.The pencils have been very nice to have around.The 12 count boxes have just the number of colors to satisfy their creative urge.

The tips are finer than a crayon, of course, so they must spend much more time coloring a picture.However, they also have more control, so the pictures come out looking lots neater.

My kids press hard on the tip to make their colors more bold, but the lead does not break.It's a pretty hard pencil.

Given the choice, my kids still prefer crayons, but they will use the pencils on occasion, or when we are out and the only thing available are the colored pencils.In time, I'm sure they will begin to favor the pencils.They are definitely my choice for car trips.

We've tried these and the rose-art brand and hands down, Crayola is the best.They last longer, don't crumble in the sharpener, and the colors are more vibrant.Plus, the kids don't have to press so hard to get a nice color from them.My husband even uses them to grade papers!Great product for every day household use as well.Only ones we buy now.Highly, highly recommend!

Did I get a bad batch?These pencils break constantly!Sometimes the tip breaks off after coloring for 30 seconds, and other times it breaks off right in the sharpener.I tried leaving just a teeny amount above the wood but anymore than that it just breaks off over and over.My kids 8 and 10 try to be careful, and I just can't understand why these pencils won't last longer.I bought Crayola for the name but we've sharpened away about half of them after just a few pictures.Very disappointing.

Just what i needed for a decent price.They are crayola pencils, so you know that they are a good quality.Not much else to say!

I saw this at the office of my colleague and ordered one for myself right away.It spins when there is some light nearby.It is a wonderful conversation piece with company and I just love having it in my living room.I bought this for a friend for Christmas last year and she and her kids loved it.

Grow'n Up 2-in-1 Rocker And Bench

Love this fun rocker/bench. My 4 andold have a blast. You need to have kids with the same weight though for the rocker to be balanced. My 4 yr old and her 4 yr old cousin love it. My kids use the bench for meals, snacks, craft time and for their tea parties. Initially myold fell backwards trying to stand up,(good thing their playroom has foam flooring), but now she understands how to get on and off of the bench and has not had any other occurances.

My Grandson and his parents love this bench. It is just the right size, it can be used inside or outside. It can take rough play and be ready for lunch time too.

This is such a great bench!My kids LOVE to be able to sit at it.My 2 year old is LOVING it.It was super easy to put together.It seems very durable too.It's heavy duty, but light weight enough to flip easily. My 2 year old is a little scared to sit on the bench seats and rock, but loves to sit on the under side of the table and let me rock him.He LOVES it.they play hide and seek under the table, color, eat etc all with this.I wished I'd had it earlier when my 11 year old was little.

My children have had so much fun with the rocker/bench.They think it is so neat that they can sit and play or eat at the table, then flip it over and rock away!!It seems very durable....I have caught them standing on it more than once!(Our dogs have even been seen standing on the table for a better view!)

Large Pin Art/Black

I always do my homework by reading the amazon reviews for items I plan to buy.I read about the poor construction of this toy, but given a lack of other choices, I decided to take my chances anyway and hope for the best.Sure enough, 2 of the 6 pins holding this toy together were broken upon arrival.Instead of going through the return hassle, I just moved the 4 good pins to the corners for now to keep it secure, and I'll look for my own hardware to fix it myself.There was no box damage at all; this toy just isn't very durable.If you decide to buy anyway, I hope you are luckier than I was!

This product uses metal pins and several of the pins on mine were a little bent so did not always pop back quickly. I could easily straignten though.Also the ends of the pins seem to have been cut with a wire cutter and not rounded.Therefore when you push against your hand or other body part the sharp edges can hurt.Also the pins will not push very far in as they seem to get stuck due to hitting each other.Build quality is poor on this product.

As the pins are metal product is quite heavy and will not balance on its side or end when many of the pins extended so if you want to leave a display of a pressing you need to be sure a lot of pins pushed in.

If you want a metal version I would suggest looking for one with rounded pin ends and better build quality of look at one with plastic pins

Our son is autistic and hard to find toys he likes.His brother had a similar toy and he picked it up and wanted to play with everyday.He likes sensory toys.He likes the feel and sound of certain toys.He is 24 and non-verbal but, the smile on his face says how much he enjoys playing with it.I'm sure younger ages would like this, also.

Same problem as other posters. Packaging looked good, but the cheap plastic pins were broken before it was even out of the box. Find another one.

This toy was broken on arival one of the screws was broken off, the glass or plastic plate in front of it was dirty and some of the nails were kinda bent. But it still works and was not all that fun about five minute of play into it got old i am very mad about this product dont be cheap get the $20 ones
