Replogle Globes Cranbrook Globe, Antique Ocean, 12-Inch Diameter

I purchased this globe because I liked the way it looked in the picture.I read some of the reviews on globes made by this company, and some buyers indicated that the latitude/longitude lines didn't line up correctly when the outer surface of the globe was attached to the globe. When I opened the box and inspected the globe, I discovered that the map surface did not line up properly in several locations at the equator. The mis-alignment was very obvious, and I can't understand how this globe could have left the manufaturer in that condition.I returned the globe for a refund, and will not buy another product from this vendor.

I really thought I did my research in purchasing a globe and the picture looked lovely. Unfortunately, when I opened it up the two halves of the globe were poorly put together. The joint was very obviously and to me, it just didn't look right.

3M Disinfecting Desk and Office Cleaning Wipes, 25-Count (CL564)

• Kills germs, bacteria and viruses
• Pre-moistened and ready to use
• Excellent for cleaning shared work areas
• Leaves a crisp, citrus scent to freshen up the office
• 25-count canister

()Summary:Does a good job cleaning gunk from (and presumably disinfecting*) keyboards, telephones and such.Wouldn't recommend for home use.

*Didn't test this I don't have any petri dishes .

The active ingredient for these wipes are various kinds of Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride which seems to be a reasonably effective anti-bacterial agent. It's powerful enough biocide that they recommend washing your hands with soap and water after using these wipes. It won't eat your skin off but you don't want to transfer any residual amounts to your eyes!

That being the case, I wouldn't recommend it for home use.You could see lots of uses for this in the kitchen HOWEVER the instructions say that any surface you clean with this should be washed off if it will come into contact with food.Well, if you're going to wash it off they why bother with these wipes? Also, I wouldn't let kids near this stuff (the wipes. It's ok to let kids use things you clean with the wipes.Note that they say things that come in contact with food should be washed off therefore things kids put in their mouths should be washed off as well)

Tested it on telephones and a keyboard.Cleaned up nasty looking gunk right away and left the surfaces looking good.In a office with lots of phones, keyboards and other things that get handled a lot I think this would work fine.Around the home, how many times do you need to clean the phones? Not that often so that's another reason I don't recommend it for the home.

Did not test it on smartphone displays since I don't have one. That would be seem to be an obvious use but I don't know if the active ingredient would hurt the display.

BTW, I do see that it says "Office Wipes" right in the product title.I kept mentioning the home angle to point out why it could be an issue if you used it outside the office.

()While this product does a good job at cleaning up and disinfecting, it was very difficult to get that first piece out of the middle of the rolled up wipes and then thread it through the top.

On top of it all, it has a very strong disinfectant smell.I suppose you would expect that from disinfectant wipes, but really, it is strong.Stronger than other products i have used.

If both of those things don't concern you then you will enjoy using the product. The wipes are strong and do the job.

()The usefulness of this product depends on the user therefore the review cannot be universally applied. Overall it is a good product, but the question is do we really need separate wipes for office items?

1. The wipe does clean well and it is not as water-ly as other wipes. And this is a good thing, if you are cleaning electronics or computers. And it leaves a fresh scent not too strong, so it is pleasant.

2. I used it on my laptop, desktop, monitor, TV, and desk. It does clean well overall. I was worried that it may leave a streak on the TV, monitor, and laptop screen, and I was relieved to see that the streak is barely visible. If you are cautious, my friend who is a computer technician said, simply use a tissue (not lotioned ones) with water. Wet the tissue with a little water and wipe it, then dry it with another tissue.

3. Since it is Anti-bacterial disinfectant, it adds another benefit more so, if you are in the office where many items are shared or touched by coworkers.

4. But the product is expensive. So the question is not whether the item is good, the question is do I really need it when I am able to clean the office electronics with other means.

Overall, it does what it claims. But whether you should purchase it or not, is up to your preference.

()Each sheet is about the same size as a baby wipe, and does a good job at its intended use, a dust wipe with disinfecting capabilities.Doesnt smell like you've opened a cleaning product when using it, which is important when in a dense cubicle environment.

I use it to clean my desktop and my phone handset... never know who may borrow that when you are not around....

The biggest downside is the packaging. It would be nice if it wasn't this bright obvious cleaning product, but would be less eye catching...and i could leave it on the corner of the desk where it's ready and handy...

()These 3M disinfecting desk and office wipes really make cleaning and disinfecting the workplace a breeze.

So much easier, quicker and practical than sprays and paper towels.I find it economical too, it's not a high price for 25 wipes that make the job so much simpler.

I find that one wipe cleans my phone, key board and desktop.

I appreciate that it kills germs as it cleans and kills Salmonella and E.coli.

There are no harmful or obnoxious fumes. It contains no ammonia nor bleach which are both hard on the lungs. It has a light, pleasant citrus scent.

It's a great product, made right here in the USA and one which I recommend highly.

Double Sided Doodle Board

If you decide to purchase this poorly-designed, known-to-be-defective toy, be sure to keep your receipt. Little Tikes will only refind your money if you have this record of your expense. Otherwise, you *might* be given a check for $15 that can only be used to purchase other Little Tikes products.

What is the problem? The drawings will not stay on the screen long enough to actually draw anything. I tried to draw a house for my 2 year old daughter. By the time I drew the roof, the walls had faded to the point of no longer being there.

In order to get my "refund" (store credit), I had to deface the product "so that nobody would ever want the toy" (their words)and send in photo proof to Little Tikes. If you look at the user-contributed photos, and you will see how I defaced the product.

This product has been discontinued by Little Tikes. They discontinued it because they know it to be defective. Save yourself the trouble and find a better company with which to do business.

We bought this for our daughter after she played with a different model by Little Tikes.I agree with the other reviewers that the pen is inexplicably too short. But the real problem is that the drawings fade immediately. We're taking it back and getting a different one, hopefully it will work as advertised.Maybe the chalk board is good, but that's not the "draw" to the product.

I agree this toy is a total disappointment. I'm sure the string is short in order to make it less of a choking hazard, but the pen was unusable for my generally coordinated 18-month-old. He was so excited to try this toy, but wound up crying with frustration trying to use the pen. Even after cutting the string, it's not intuitive which end is the correct end, and the magnet is pretty tiny on the end. Also found the chalkboard to be of pretty poor quality. Cute idea but an awful design.

UPDATE: We cut the string on the pen so that it was at least usable. A year and a half later, I can say that the only part of this we ever used was the stamps. It still comes out of the toy box once in a while for a few minutes, usually when a visiting kid checks it out.

My girl got this for a Christmas present because she has Magna-Doodle travel that she loves. The magnet shapes work fine, but the pen is horrible. The string is too short to reach the whole screen and as others have said, the image fades immediately. She loves Mickey and I can't even draw a whole Mickey before the shape of his face fades. The chalk side may be fine, but I'll be looking for a real Magna-Doodle for her to draw on. I can't believe that Little Tikes (which normally produces good toys) has allowed this piece of junk on the market.

Want Double Sided Doodle Board Discount?

What a nice board...so I thought when I saw it in the store. Chalk boar on one side, magnetic board on the other. Nice storage compartment for the chalk and eraser. That side works fine although the storage compartment is hard to open for a toddler. BUT, the magnetic board. Oh boy. What a piece of junk. The stamps are great. But the pen is on a short string, I know safety, but come on, you can't even draw on the whole board with it. Picture fades in no time. My toddler played with it and happened to draw a cool elephant. By the time I got the camera to take a picture of my 22 month old child's masterpiece, the picture was so faded, it is very hard to see in the picture I took. When you carry it around, fading is almost immediate. And the board warped which makes it essentially impossible to use it now. You draw on one end, then the other and your original drawing is erased. After 2 months of play this junk is ready to go out with the junk. What a shame. Please save your money!!!

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Fun with Friends Musical Table

My son is 9 months old and just received this toy as a gift.He LOVES it!It has a lot to entertain him with, and he just loves flipping the computer open and shut.He laughs every single time.

I like that it has a few different settings that include ABCs, music, an interactive real life sounds and Spanish with English translation. My only complaint about it is that it doesn't have a volume control like so many Fisher Price toys have!! However, I really haven't been too bothered by it, as the songs aren't very long and are actually rather cute. I find myself singing along with them frequently.

I love that the ABC setting includes numbers, too. Each individual number can be pressed on the telephone. My son also has the Leap Frog Learn and Groove Musical Table, but it doesn't have a lot of the different features this table has.

I would definitely recommend this toy, it's great.

My 9 mo boy has been playing with this every chance he gets since he was 7 mo.I also know the LeapFrog Learn & Groove(tm) Musical Table because my niece has it.I like this one better because it has a lot more going on.Both kids seem to like this one better if given their choice.

I put the legs on it immediately as he was already starting to lean on furniture, but as other reviewers note they are easy to take off (unlike the leapfrog), which is great for packing. It has been great to see him get more and more steady on his feet.He can now crab walk all around it to choose which toy he wants to use.It looks like great exercise and that is my favorite thing about the toy. of course, he fell backwards a few times while practicing his standing, but that's just in the nature of the toy: do not use unsupervised.Probably best used on carpet.

Others have complained that the computer closes hard and kids can get there fingers trapped.I have to say that although it makes a loud noise, it does not close with any force.Closing the computer with his hand in it seems to be one of my son's favorite things to do and he does it often with no indication of pain or injury. He just slides his hand right out and is in no hurry to do so.

Actually, the biggest problem is that he likes it so much it is sometimes hard to get him off it.When he does get off it and we start to get into a good game of peek-a-boo, it actually pipes up with "hey, I wanna play" and he actually leaves me to go play with it again.I guess there is a timer in it that makes it say this after it is inactive for about 30 seconds. Now I turn it off immediately when he gets off it so it will shut up.I also hide it from view for a few hours a day so that he will play with me, his other toys, visiting grandparents, etc.

Another gripe: the Spanish mode says everything in English first.Since he presses the buttons one after the other, he sometimes doesn't even hear the Spanish word.I don't understand why they need to translate everything from English, since he doesn't even speak English yet. Also, the songs are still in English. So it hardly speaks any Spanish at all.If it is very important to you that your child learn Spanish, the Leap Frog does it better.

All in all, I'm very satisfied with it.I think that it is helping him with walking.I have gotten more than my money's worth and highly recommend it.

Buy Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Fun with Friends Musical Table Now

My children (even the 5 and 3 year old) love this table. The songs are catchy, but if they start to get too annoying, you just switch the mode to something less noisy, such as the imagination mode where each button just makes a funny sound. In response to the first review about there being no volume control, there actually is a switch under the table that changes the volume from loud to soft.

My 10 month old received this as a gift, and she's very entertained by it. The different modes provide plenty of variety. However, like another reviewer experienced, the laptop toy is easy to catch baby's hands. My little one slammed the cover down on her hand and screamed. It's too soon to tell if this will be a recurring problem, but we're keeping a close eye on things. Another concern is that the table is so light that it slides around and tips over easily. We're going to have to buy a rubber mat or something similar to make this product safer to use. It's surprising to see so many safety issues, especially some obvious ones that would have been caught in product testing.

Really a fun toy, our daughter did not get it until she was around 8 months because the toys are more then just spinners and shakers (like the leap frog). We have tried the leap frog but it was to simple for our child and she has enough spinners and shakers in all her other toys like walkers, jumperoo, and exersaucers.

Our daughter just loves the phone, keyboard, book, and her fav is the computer. She loves to just open the computer and close it. She never closed the computer on her fingure and honestly its not heavy, i cant possibly see how any child can hurt themselves on it. But again, i would say this toy is better for the older child (around 8 months) since the toys are more educational and take a little bit of higher intelligency then the leap frog.

The Pros:

*The computer is awasome and our daughter just loves to close and open it and press all the buttons

*she loves the phone (rattle) that disattaches from the toy and she loves to carry it around with her. (she loves it more then any toy we have but see "cons")

*she like flippin the book pages

*she also enjoys the keyboard.

*i like that it has "words options and musical options", thats fun to change it up. We are not quite to the "spanish" options but i am sure we will use it later since we hope our child speaks multiple languages.

* legs are easy to take off

* sturdy enough for her to pull herself up on.

* easy to clean

* batteries last a long time

Cons:

*our baby misplaces the phone (rattle) and we have to find it all the time (wish it was attached by a phone cord but maybe they dont do that because it could be dangerous.

*after playing with the computer our daughter learned that all computers open and close, which includes mommys and daddys real laptops. But i guess i didnt expect anything different.

Overall, great toy and we really love it.

Silver Bell Place Card Holders

My wife and I used these for our wedding place cards. They worked great with the Wilton Silver Border Place Cards that we got as well.

Our guest absolutely loved them, ringing them (instead of clinking on their glasses) to get us to kiss during the reception. Out of the 120 we purchased, about 4 of them were a little to loose to hold the cards snugly, but we were able to bend them with some pliers to put them back to a working state. Overall, it was a great purchase!

I actually used these place card holders to hold my menu cards in. This worked absolutely perfect! I had to turn the cards to the side though because the menu card was a little top heavy but this little guy worked. Because there is a white ribbon tied to it if you need to use these for another event you can always take off the little bow. But love them!

Russ Berrie Yomiko German Shorthaired Pointer 11"

I received my "Yomiko" for Christmas 2010, and I'm very happy to have it.It has more solid stuffing than the "Wolfgang" GSP plush (which is designed to be extra-floppy), but is still soft enough to make a good snuggle buddy for adult, child, or non-chewing canine.

One caution:the fabric shown for the body in the Amazon illustration is more GSP-looking than the fabric which arrived. The fabric mine has is more densely "ticked," and the ticking, alas, is more like little dashes than like dots. But I am still very pleased to have this little pup in my collection! The nose is the proper brownish color for a GSP rather than standard-issue black, so I went ahead and gave five stars for its educational value.I dropped a star for durability because face it -though this animal is clearly well-made -no plush toy is ever going to be durable enough to stand up to a toddler or dog bent on destruction.

I Love It!!!! So Soft and cuddly. My granddaughter won't go to sleep with out her Ali!! Just the right size!!

KidKraft Nantucket Storage Bench

This is the second piece of children's furniture I have purchased by this company (KidKraft) and I feel comfortable in recommending them and their wares highly. I am not good at reading directions or putting things together, but this really was very simple to put together and the instructions were great (easy to follow steps and pictures). The bench is lovely; solid, pretty, roomy. Really a perfect addition to our toddler's room. Great find! Note that while we are using this for our son's toys, it is sturdy and attractive enough to use anywhere in the house it's not just for kids.

We thought this would be great to store our daughters toys in. How wrong we were! When the package arrived, everything was included. No dings, scratches or parts missing everything was looking good... but the toxic smell was something else! We assembled the bench anyway thinking that once it had aired out it would be fine... After a few days we even washed the bench and cleaned it with simple green... They smell remains. 3 months on we still can't use it. Anything we put inside the bins pick up the toxic smell and as everything goes in our daughters mouth we just don't want the risk. Why didn't we return it? We would of if it wasn't for the fact A. The product is fully assembled and packaging long gone and B. We live in Hawaii.

This is a good, sturdy little unit. It looks great and perfect size for little ones... If only it didn't smell so bad!!!

South Shore Heavenly Collection Changing Table, Pure White

My husband is very handy andafter two hours of frustrating assembly, we gave up and he said "whoever designed this table should never design anything again"

Fits perfectly in my nursery and is designed for easy access on everything with diapers and clothing. It did come damaged, chipped from storage in a warehouse or shipping. The chipping was in the back for us so we didn't address the issue with the seller. Be warned though, in case you need this immediately, it may come damaged and be prepared to return it if you can't deal with the chipping as we did. Otherwise, functionally, love this!

Medium Sop with Camel Miniature Airplane

I'll be honest.I haven't taken it out of the box yet, but peeking in the box, the quality is amazing. The packaging was carefully done. From what I have seen, if you want a high quality model airplane, the price may be steep, but it is definately worth it.I'll be hanging this in my boy's nursery.

We're very eclectic people, and we bought this as an item to lighten up the mood in our living room, not as a toy. It's well made, and the "light assembly" is just a matter of attaching the wheels to the fuselage with some screws. It looks more realistic in person than it does in the photos. The photos make it look too plastic-like, which it's not. I'm very happy with the purchase and look forward to it being quite a conversation piece.

Little People Thanksgiving Celebration - Pilgrims and Indian Friends

We have and love many Little People sets. Amazon retailers charge way too much. Go to the Fisher Price site for a much better price. Toys R Us also carried these at a better price. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

When my grandson, who will be 3 in January, saw the Thanksgiving setup on my coffee table, he started jumping up and down. He wanted to know if he could take it home. When I explained to him, that we had to leave it at Nana's house so others could play too., he seemed satisfied with that answer. He plays with it everytime he comes over.I love the way the little people are dressed and the Thanksgiving table is so cute.I had loved Fisher Price since I became a mother 40 yrs ago.Keep up the good work and the imagination level for all ages.

As the previous reviewer mentioned, some Amazon retailers have gotten out of control with pricing.I just purchased this set for $17.00, directly from Fisher Price. We purchased Harvest Hayride from FP too, for $13 (FP will even send you a free catalog, with your order). If the toy is sold directly by Amazon, the price is usually comparable, but watch out for Amazon retailers.
