Zelda Hylian Letter Opener Shield & Sword Table Top Set

The first thing I noticed was the paint job it looks like a 3rd grader did it in art class. There are no assembly instructions, which at first doesn't seem like a big deal considering there are four screws,two nuts, a mounting bracket, and a block of wood. The hard part is figuring out how the swords are supposed to fit. After a while of examining the pieces, I figured out that the short screws go through the metal support piece and into the shield. This leaves a small gapfor you to jam the swords into. The only way to keep everything from moving and the swords from falling outis to tighten the screws down so there is no way to ever use the swords as letter openers. I would not recommend you buy this unless you are looking for a dollar store quality nick-knack.

Bought this for my son for Christmas. He loves anything Zelda. It was not easy to put together as the predrilled holes did not match up. Otherwise it is cute and he was satisfied.

Not what I expected, it was very small.. not very well put together or painted. In the end my roommate, whom this was a Christmas present for was disappointed as was I. It was also nearly impossible to assemble, because the holes were drilled wrong and the screws did not fit. The only thing that came good out of this were the swords which showed to be very useful while opening a bottle of wine..

Could have been so much more. You can see where the shield was cut out and shaped correctly but the paint was horribly done. The same with the hilt of the "letter opener sword". The holes for the screw to attach the shield onto the bracket do not even align and there is no way to remove a sword with ought it falling apart because of the lack of sheaths. Once tightened into place they do not move.

I was very unhappy with the globe. It does not look or feel like gemstones or pearl. Rather, it looks and feels like plastic. Obviously cheaply made and very low quality.

The globe is beautiful and from a distance it looks like Gemstone but it is plastic. A plastic ball filled with styro foam it looks like. Still a beautiful globe, but not Gemstone. It is "Gemstone-like" or something. The stand is very nice. My kids abosolutely love it, but I would have preferred a real one. Next time a Kalyfano I guess.

Most irretating is that my home country is not even on it (The Netherlands)! I want a pretty globe in my living room to show people where I am from, but the globe doesn't serve that purpose.

WWII, The War Boardgame

What is this? A board wargame played using plastic miniatures over a gigantic map of the world.

Time Frame? World War II scenarios from 1939 through a post-war east-west confrontation.

Scale? Global, strategic land armies, airforces and naval fleets are representated abstractly using plastic miniatures. The board divides the world into areas which can be the size of whole countries e.g. the eastern USA (east of Mississippi) is divided into two regions northeast USA and southeast USA.

How difficult are the rules? The mechanics are straightforward and one would expect most adults and kids (>10) could pick this up within 15-30 minutes of play. But easy mechanics doesn't make it a simple game like chess, the game can be quite involved.

How long does it take to play? depending on the experience of the players, a game could take 2-5 hours to complete.

Wait a moment isn't there a game like this already called Axis and Allies? YES this game is quite similar to Axis and Allies which has gone into various editions and publishers (Milton Bradley, Avalon Hill, Hasbro, Wizards of the Coast, etc.) It has a strong similarity to Axis and Allies the key differences seem to be (a) bigger map with more areas and sea zones the board is about 3x the area of the A&A board, (b) most of the rules are similar with tweaks sort of super sized A&A played with a few more home brewed rules.

Is it worth getting? Yes but it helps if you really like board wargames, really like A&A, and appreciate high quality production the board is terrific mounted, coated and solid. The miniatures are OK oddly they are all based on German figures so the dark brown Russians have German style soldiers and tanks, as do the green USA troops. But this is a small quibble if this bugs you, just substitute A&A figures from A&A Europe and A&A Pacific.

Would other (non-wargamers) like this? Well it can be an intro wargame no huge rule book with numerous references (e.g. "Movement Rule 2.3.1.1 moving while under fire in a full moon"), but is it worth spending $80-100? probably you could have as good a time with the A&A versions, but this is clearly a work of love by a designer and developer who loved the original A&A and wanted to do something more a dream many A&A players have thought of at some point. The map is amazing the image on the amazon website doesn't give it credit. The box pictured is about 60% BIGGER than the early edition big A&A box.

Since I love Axis and Allies, but wanted more options and "realism", I thought The War Game was going to be the ticket.I'm sorry to say that I tried playing it twice, put it in the closet, and went back to Axis and Allies.With tax and shipping, I shelled out about a hundred bucks for The War Game: World War II Board Strategy by Pegasus. At this point, I consider it wasted money.When you read the rest of this review, bear in mind that I haven't ever played the game all the way through, and only partly twice.

Here's what I found wrong with the game.The board size is way too big.At first I thought this was going to be a positive feature of the game, since I had often complained that the later versions of Axis and Allies had a board map that was too cramped and small.But The War Game goes too far in the opposite direction.The board is so big it entirely covers my dining room table with a few inches of overhang on all sides.My table seats 6.I had to set up my card table to place the pieces not being used, rule book, and to have a place to roll dice.I suspect most players, especially the 20-somethings, won't have a readily available playing surface for this game.

The game pieces are all German units, only the colors are different.Sure, you can play the game and ignore that.It doesn't effect game play, but anybody willing to pay 100 dollars for a WWII game probably wants historical detail in the pieces.A better option for the pieces in my opinion would have been to just use generic infantry and other unit pieces, molded in different colors for each country.

However these first two objections to the game could be overlooked, but the real reason we stopped playing the game and broke out good-old Axis and Allies is that, given resources and initial unit placement, there appeared no way that the Axis had a chance of winning.The game appears to heavily favor the Allies.The Allies have way too many resources, while the Axis have far too few.Plus the number and types of units each side starts the game with and where they begin on the board puts the Axis at a distinct disadvantage.Also, the territories the Axis begin with, where you could build factories in strategic places, have less value than the ones the Allies begin with, thus limiting the Axis ability to project force and build more units closer to the front.This is yet another Axis handicap.Then there's the US players lend-lease options.In this game as it was historically, the US is in no danger of being invaded for many turns, but is allowed to give its wealth away to the other allied powers, who certainly don't need it to be in the game.This feature further hinders any realistic hope that the Axis are going to be able to make a real game of it.

On our second game, we tinkered with the rules and the resources, giving more production resources to the Axis and did away with most of the lend-lease capability. After a few hours, we realized this still wasn't enough to balance the game. We assessed what it would really take to make this a viable game for the Axis is to re-jigger the resources, change the values of the territories on the map and do away with some of the pieces the allies start out with or give more to the Axis.Since this was more trouble than we wanted to go to at the time (we just wanted to play), we put the game up.This was several weeks ago and we've played Axis and Allies about 4 times since.The option in The War Game to retreat rather than fight and be annihilated seemed like a good one, but in playing, it is rarely used, since the attacker gets a free attack, defender casualties are removed and don't have a chance to hit back, and then any survivors can retreat.Most of the time with anything more than a small attacking force, the defender would rather go down swinging, rather than lose a bunch of pieces without the ability to inflict any damage to the attacker.

What is disappointing about this game for me (and the folks I play with) was that I really, really was excited about getting it and really wanted to play it.I'm also disappointed for the creators of the game.I wanted to be able to write a good review.

This game is a wonderful picture into World War II. It has been very well researched and play tested by the way it plays. My hat is off to everyone involved in this game. They have made it very realistic to the actual combat situation. There are so many choses to make that you would never play the same game twice. This game actually gives you the opportunity to change the course of history by what decisions you make to declare war or not and on who. The political rules are neat and simple. Nothing about this game is hard to learn. Most of it is based on common sense (Fighters can choose to fight Fighters or ground units on each combat turn). I'm sorry, but I can't say anything bad about this game. It is a must have for any Wargamer in the World War II Era. This is the only game I have bought that I felt was worth the money. Oh, and the board is absolutely beautiful. Every country at that time is represented. You will not be sorry for your purchase!

My son and I were so excited to get this game but The excitement quickly turned to disappointment when we first started to break the individual pieces off the plastic they were attached.Every infantry unit is attached by the bottom, so unless you use a razor blade, they will not stand correctly.The same goes for the tanks, artillery, and many of the ships.The only explanation this is that the game creator and company that produces this product has absolutely no respect for its customers.I warn you that unless you want to spend literally hours with a razor blade removing over 500 pieces then stay away from this overpriced game.I found myself basically paying for the big board and using the pieces from Axis and Allies, which is produced by a company that is obviously concerned about the quality of it its product and the expectation of its gamers.I was angry enough to contact the game creator, which he encourages and received a response that basically told me to use other game pieces if I was unhappy with those included.Well what did I just spend 130 dollars for if I was going to just use game pieces that I already owned?Under no circumstances is this game with the cost.

The first table pad we bought for our newborn started to tear in just a couple of weeks of use. So glad I splurged on this and was surprised to find no reviews. At 9 months of age, our baby is now super squirmy -always trying to spinand this changer feels safer as it deeper and heavier than the one we had before. Play-Doh Breakfast Time Set

The Play-doh breakfast set is the most popular set we own. The food looks close to real and since my 3 children (ages 4-10) love breakfast, they have fun making real looking meals. my 2.5 year old son and i love cooking together and one of our favorite breakfasts to make is waffles!i don't let him near the waffle iron, though, it gets so hot so the play-do version is perfect.this was a christmas gift this year and almost a month later, it has been used several times.the only downside is that, while getting creative and making realistic play-do foods, we mixed the colors together (like for the fried egg; the yellow and white) and now we have a lot of swirled play-do.i guess that's probably bound to happen, toy or not though...

we have a lot of fun together with this toy, which was my original goal.more fun to come, too!

Our Generation Tea Party Accessory Set

My 5-year-old daughter and her 8-year-old sister love playing with their American Girl dolls, so I decided to buy a tea set for the 5-year-old for her birthday that she could use with those dolls. This set fits the bill, with a few caveats. Number one, the tea bags are really just tiny pieces of coated paper with the names of tea printed on them. There is no string to make them look like actual tea bags, which is disappointing. However, the bag that comes with them is very cute and looks just like a bag of tea you would buy at the store. However, all of these coated paper items came taped together, which left a sticky residue on the "bags" of tea.Also, I assumed the tea tray would hold the pot and tea items on it, so one of the dolls could play "mother", but no such luck. The tray barely holds the pot and you would have to stack the plates under the pot to put them on it and then possibly squeeze the cups on beside the pot. Also, the canister that holds all the cookies, cupcakes and sandwiches is so big it won't fit on the tray.It is very cute and the scale is tiny, which is appropriate for an 18" doll; however, the price is about twice as much as it should be. If I had paid $15 for this item, I would be thrilled with it. Having paid almost $40, I am very disappointed. My girls aren't as picky, so they are having fun playing with it. I just can't imagine those tiny pieces of paper will last very long. Also, I was hoping to store the entire set on the tray so as not to lose any pieces, but that is not a possibility.

This table was not as advertised.The "padding" on the underside was just some lick-and-stick small foam fingers that would not hold up.There were several screws missing from the supports which could not be replaced into the particle board.The stiffeners were very flimsy.The whole table seemed like it would not last at all.We returned it unused.Note to Amazon: you should stop offering this product.

This product is MDF and comes in two pieces. One person can put it on and off, though it's a little awkward because of it's size). It ships face on face with a thin strip (1/64") of foam around the edges so when you get it it will be marred and chipped (the two face pieces are basically rubbed against themselves all the way to your house. Where the two pieces join in the middle (after you place them on your table is unfinished. I'm not sure why. I have a $12,000 billiard table and I WOULD NOT put this on my table without first putting a blanket on the billiard table. You are just asking for your table to be scratched. I sent mine back.

Black & Decker Power Tool Workshop

"Santa Claus" brought this item for our 2 boys on Christmas Eve, and within' 2 min. of them opening it, the drill press was broken. The table saw was soon to follow. We have tried to email the manufacturer, but have received no reply. We then tried to call the service number, and have yet to get through. I highly discorage anyone from buying this item for their kids, as much as we liked the concept, and the kids love the idea of having their own workbench, it's just no worth it!

These toys are great fun for our son, but I wouldn't pay what the sellers on Amazon are asking.Some of the toys are built cheap, so he has already broken some of them, however, we bought the toys at Wal-Mart for less than half the price (you can get them at Lowes and Home Depot too).We saw this workbench at Wal-Mart last night for $55.

UPDATE:We bought this tool bench for our son (3 years) for Christmas.It was by far the favorite present for Christmas...even over the Black and Decker toy leaf blower.The tools are a little more sturdier than the ones that were included in the backpack toy.The drill press and table saw are battery powered and are great!The birdhouse has "wooden" pop-outs where the screws go, making it look like one solid piece of wood, then when you put it under the drill press, you pop it out, making your child think they drilled a hole in the wood.Clever!Also, the holes in the bench are spaced farther apart, so the screws and nails don't overlap like the wood pieces included in the backpack.Overall, a great toy!Our nine-month old son loves it too (minus the choking hazards).

My son loves this & all the tools he got from Santa. Design is good, but could be a bit more rigid. My son would put the included birdhouse together every day -often many times during the day. (Dad would like to see more projects to build -pretty bored with the birdhouse!) Now, 4 months into it, 1 hole on the birdhouse finally got stripped out. (Dad now wishes we had the birdhouse again -nothing left to build.) Would definitely buy this again for additional tools & accessories (& a new birdhouse), except the inflated price tag is a big holdup.

Little Tikes 5-in-1 Adjustable Gym

I have a unique perspective because this was purchased for my son who is disabled.Because of a brain hemorrhage at birth, he is mentally delayed.He really enjoys these types of activity centers.This one is great because of the spinning cylinder with beads.The problems would be that the buttons are so high that a baby sitting on the floor can't reach them.Also, the spinning things on both sides of the cylinder don't spin very well unless the toy is positioned just right.Because the toy is for my son, I haven't had a chance to try out the drawing surface on the back side.Just an FYI, my wife thought it would be like a white board but it isn't.White board markers don't easily erase.

I am surprised by some of the low reviews.This is an amazingly versatile toy that goes a LONG way for your money.The ONLY way to fairly review this product is to see how well it holds up over time because it really grows with your growing baby.Let me explain...

We first got this as a gift from a relative for our son, who was 3 months old at the time.He could barely reach it while lying on his back.Kind of disappointing, but propping him up closer with layers of blankets underneath him did the trick.It wasn't his most favorite toy, but it kept him busy for couple hours each day.

Then he got big enough to crawl, so we adjusted the gym for his size.Still not his most favorite toy, but still played with it for an hour or two each day.

Then he's 9 months old.We adjusted the gym once again.While his other expensive toys came and went as he outgrew them, the baby always seemed to go back to this gym. It just looks new to him each time it is reconfigured into a different way.

Then he's a year old, and could sit.We adjusted the gym to become a sitting bench area for him, and he would sit on it for half an hour at times.Not his most favorite toy, but still very useful and kept him busy, especially if he wanted to play with a toy on the flat side of the reversible tabletop.

Now he's almost 1.5 years old.Most of his toys received as an infant were packed away or given away because he outgrew them, but not this Old Reliable still going strong and still sits at the center of his playpen.

So yes, it's not the most entertaining toy or the next Tickle Me Elmo, but I don't know of a single other toy that could be used from the day a baby's born until he's 2 or 3, do you?For $35, that is an amazing value, and that's why this product should deserve nothing less than 5 stars for all the mileage you can get out of it.All these other low reviews only reflect a snapshot of time, such as when it is first purchased, and not how it fares well over the years.

We had this cute elmo gym with the first two kids.Then the third came along and since we got rid of everything beforehand we had to rebuy some stuff.the elmo gym was no longer being made (which I ended up finding through amazon from a local seller).What I hated most about it was that when the baby was laying down you really couldn't see much of what was going on and with that said...there really wasn't much going on anyways.Then, you couldn't set it up to just play music and lights.you have to be hitting it to make it go and the music was so annoying.The elmo gym...I would hit a button and it would go for maybe 5-10 minutes...enough time that I could have my three month old entertained.This was more geared up for older kids but I think by then, they would be into something else.

Fantasy Furniture Sofa and Chair Fancy Set, Blue/Green

I have had this sofas for a month now. I bought them to replace the Winnie the Pooh sofas I bought from Walmart a year ago. Let me tell you this sofas are worth the price. I paid $120 for them but they were originally $200. I was wondering why they were so expensive since the ones I bought from Walmart were only $100. Now I know, they are a tiny bit bigger and they are also easy to clean. I just grab a towel and clean the spots. I could not do that with the walmart one's it was always a hassle to clean. So far I am very happy with my purchase.

We receive this set as a gift for my son on Christmas and he loves it, he is 18 months old and the size is perfect for him, we have had the set for over 3 months now and I have to say that the couch and the chair are very well made, and the suede fabric is easy to clean.

I would recommend it for kids 18 months to 3 years old, bigger kids would outgrow it pretty quick.

OK, I don't normally do reviews, only when negative.This review has nothing to do with the couch, as they are exactly as described and nice stuff.But the vendor only shipped one of two couches.At first I assumed, OK mistakes can happen.But when Amazon set me up with a second order at no charge to make up for the first item....the dumb vendor sent only ONE COUCH again.Geeeze, these people are completely INEPT!

I had a great time with these pacifiers! The shower theme was "rubber duckie" and I made ducks from a Martha Stewart duckie pattern that I embellished with feet, eyes, tiny baby bottles and these tiny pacifier. With the remainder of the package of pacifiers I dropped them in no particular pattern down the center of each table. The guests thought they were really cute.
