Druid's Deliverance is a card that has excellent 'double strike' quality.The first is a near guarantee that regardless of your creatures on the field, you're opponent's creatures will be not only unable to do damage with their attack, but will also be unable to defend had they chosen to attack prior to the play of this card, thus allowing you to strike a little harder on your next turn, provided your opponent declared an attack with a large percentage of their creatures.
Then second strike occurs with the word populate.Not only will you're opponent be down creatures while unable to attack you or force your own creatures to their deaths, it will allow a properly constructed token creation deck to produce a copy of the token.With tokens that vary from 5/5 with trample to 8/8 with vigilance, this can be very helpful.
Throw in the fact that the mana cost is very affordable and that of course it is an instant card, and this card can be very effective.

Survivor Outwit Outlast Game
The "Survivor" board game says on its cover that it's a game for adults, and it means it. The rules aren't overly complicated once each type of card has been drawn once (there's variants on Pictionary, riddles, To Tell the Truth and so forth), although few groups will understand how important the team play in the beginning will be later on.But it's when the game gets to individual play and people start getting voted off that you have to watch it. Like the previous reviewer, we had one person voting for himself every round, and we had the first person voted out leave in a mock-huff, although she got over it in a few minutes. Since one isn't trapped on an island for a month with fellow players, there's no reason to form alliances other than to "get" other players, and since the game is presumably being played with friends, one should make sure that they're friends who won't be upset if voted out. (In most cases, that means having something else to do once the game ends, or a motivation to keep watching until the tribal council vote at the end between the final two players.)
This isn't a game with long-term replay value -how long can a fad really last? -but I expect my family will be playing this at family gatherings through the spring at least.
The board is attractive, with a 3-D green plastic island in the middle of a round board, and the cardboard board is naturally divided into two rings, for team and individual play, with team play being played in the waves around the island, and individual play on the shore. Some elements of the game are cheaply constructed -the "coasters" that tell whether a board symbol means "outplay," "outwit" or "outlast" are already peeling apart, and we barely touched them over Thanksgiving weekend -and the box itself is none-too-sturdy, as though the manufacturer knew the game wouldn't be played more than a few times by most people.
Still, for (thick-skinned) fans of the show, the "Survivor" board game is a fun way to recreate the show and with its blend of challenges, most everyone will find a minigame that they enjoy.

I had received this game as a gift and was a little skeptical as to how well it followed the television show, but must say that I was quite surprised. This board game managed to capture the essence of the hit CBS sitcom. You begin the game by splitting into two teams. You can be on either the Pagong or Tagi team. I played the game with my two brothers and my sister-in-law so there was only four of us. You start out in the surf of Pulau Tiga and move clockwise around the board competing in different challenges and collecting survival items. There are many different challenges. You will be faced with riddles, a pictionary type game, as well as questions relating to your teamates. After you have completed one lap around the island you merge the two teams together and individual play begins. This segment of the game takes place along the beach and the object here is to be the first one around the board. The first one around wins immunity and can not be voted out of the game. When someone wins immunity, tribal council is held and someone must be voted out of the game. Hopefully, you will be playing with someone other than family because it can be hard when deciding who to vote for. Anyway, after someone is voted out of the game play continues in the same manner. It continues in this fashion until there are only two people left in the game. At that point, everyone who was voted out of the game decide who the overall winner will be. We had alot of fun with this game. We played it four times in a row and it was never quite the same game twice. It is all about immunity. Anyway, I recommend getting little candles to represent the torches from the show and snuffing them out after each person is expelled from the game. I also recommend some sort of necklace to represent immunity like the show and it would also be nice if you had the soundtrack from the show playing in the background. The "Survivor Board Game" is one that started out with a good concept.Up to eight players move around the "island," trying to outwit, outplay and outlast their opponents by answering questions, picking up special cards along the way to help with later in the game and trying to win Immunity.Unfortunately, that's where most of the fun ends.Now don't get me wrong."Survivor" is a fun game, but you have to play it with the right people; in other words, those who are easily offended and/or aren't good sports about losing should not play this game.
Fun: Strangely, it depends.In my experience with the game, it has never really been that much fun.The people who win all the time want to play it, and those who know they don't have a chance at becoming the "Ultimate Survivor" don't want to play it.People sometimes make things personal while playing this game too, whether they intend to or not."The only reason you voted me off is because he's your boyfriend, and you didn't want to make him mad."And blah blah blah.Again, the makers of this game came up with a good concept.But I don't think they took this into consideration.
Educational Value: Not much.Most of what happens to you is either based upon chance or luck.And for some of us, if we didn't have bad luck, we'd have no luck at all!Just like in the game, alliances can be formed between people in the game, and this usually determines the same people getting voted out again and again.It doesn't take a rocket scientist to gang up on someone and get that person voted off.
Durability: It's a standard board game, so it'll hold up for a little while.But depending upon how much you play it, it may hold up for years because, in my opinion, this game has little or no replay value.People make it too personal, and half the time no one wants to play it.
In short, this game is average.I can see where the makers of this game were going and they produced it, but I'm not so sure they anticipated what would come of it.If this game were played with complete strangers, things might be a little different.I don't think people would take things so seriously.But who among us ever does that?

I have a way to make it better. I own both first and second editions. If you are a competitive person, I have a few suggestions. If it is legal where you live, have every player pitch in 5 bucks or so, then play winner take all. Plan the game about a day or so in advance in order to give everyone a chance to form strategies. First off, the short version: if you're not comfortable enough with tools to fix what's wrong with this toy, don't buy it.That, or check the packaging and product carefully -if it claims a 2007 manufacture date and says it was made in China, or if on inspection you see anything wrong, pack it back up and return it as defective.At least some versiosn of this thing are at best poorly made and fragile, and at worst dangerous.I'm not going to address the fun or educational aspects of this toy, just the manufacturing issues some have reported.Bought one for my daughter in September 2009.It arrived in a box prominently labeled "Made in China" and with a claimed manufacture date in 2007.Whatever factory in China accepted Anatex's outsourcing contract hasn't yet mastered quality control, because there were quite a number of manufacturing defects:
Imprecise assembly: fasteners and brackets are not accurately placed, causing parts to be loose or misaligned.This is most evident on the bead maze on the top and the "abacus" sliding-bead panel on the side, which is mounted on four stand-off brackets.Mount those brackets in the wrong places and the screws used to attach the panel either won't reach or will be under enough strain they'll pull out (it's very soft pine, and screw threads easily pull loose.)Up on the bead maze, some of the wire ends are mounted crooked, resulting in the wires actually touching or just passing so close to one another that the beads can't pass by.
Mismatched, incorrect parts choices: speaking of that panel, one of the screws used to mount it was the incorrect size, and had not only pulled loose but was loose in the box when I unpacked it; it doesn't match any of the others used with identical mountings, nor does it match any other screw found on the entire unit.There's no excuse for that one short of basic incompetence combined with inadequate or nonexistent quality control.
Incorrect gluing: Once again with the abacus panel -it's held together with glue.Nothing wrong with that if it's done right, but it wasn't -see, to make a good glue joint you need clean surfaces, a lot of contact area and a proper amount of glue inbetween, plus a good pressure fit while the glue dries.Well, the surfaces were clean and the joint more or less correctly designed, but the glue was _missing_.What was holding it together?A dab of red paint around the corner.Splendid.Paint ain't adhesive, guys, and the whole point of a glue joint is you put some actual _glue_ in there somewhere.As it was, two of the four joints had popped open, causing the rods to dislodge from their sockets and scarring the surface.Those beads are small enough to be a choking hazard if they get loose, so having those glue joints work is important.
Inadequate torque: Ah, the gift that keeps on giving.About a third of the screws and other fasteners in the unit were loose because they hadn't been torqued down hard enough.Another third had stripped the threads out of the soft wood, because they'd been torqued too hard.The remaining third were in a magical inbetween state which might even have been correct torque -but I suspect it's just coincidence.As I mentioned, this is soft wood, and proper torque matters.(n.b. for nonmechanical types: "torque" roughly means "how hard you twist the screws.")
What else was wrong?Well, there were plenty of inexplicable gouges, scrapes and dings on the surface, even though it was properly packed and nothing in the box had a chance to impact the surface.Plenty of people have commented on that -it means the factory in China that produced them was working too fast and/or wasn't well tooled for the job, so parts were being thrown around.
So, should you buy this toy?Well, chances are your kid(s) will love it.So if you want one, fine, but be prepared to inspect it very thoroughly when it comes out of the box.Test every screw to ensure it's snug and not loose or stripped.Pop the little plastic caps off the axles on the gear side and check that the locking washers are tight.Check the glue joints and be prepared to spend a little time gluing and clamping.Check both ends of every wire in the bead maze to ensure they're firmly stuck in their mounting holes.Go over all the many dings, gouges and scrapes and smooth out the splintered bits.Find any screws that don't look like they match their companions, gently unscrew them and if they're too short or too fine-pitched in the threads, replace them.While you're at it, attach something heavy to the lower edges on the inside, because it's top-heavy and will tip over the first time your child tries to use it to stand up.Think of it like a toy for both you and your child -you get a fun evening in the garage fixing everything Anatex's manufacturer did wrong, while showering curses on the consumer-hostile side effects of globalized manufacturing.Then when you're done, your child gets a fun thing to play with.
I purchased this cube in June of 2012 from Amazon.com.The cube was delivered via Amazon Prime via FedEx 2-Day service.The cardboard box arrived in very good shape.On the outside of the box there was a sticker that had a picture of the cube on it, and it stated that the cube was made with non-toxic paints and Made in the USA.
Assembly was easy.The box is in essence two parts (the top and sides), with the screws holding the two main peaces together.As others have noted in their reviews there was one packing flaw a single screw was missing.I had a screw that worked just fine in my toolbox and I was able to get my 15-month old playing with the toy in no time.
The cube seems very well made and robust there has already been some heavy tugging on the wires on the top with no wear and tear on the wires or the cube itself.The toy can keep my child going for 30 minutes or so, which can seem like a pleasant eternity.
To make a long story short I'd purchase this toy again and would highly recommend it to anyone with a child they'd like to keep entertained.

I ought this for my daughter for her 1st birthday.She loves the bead maze at the top and she goes round and round the cube exploring all the different sides!
So as the title would suggest, the stickers on the cog wheels are starting to come off (after 1 week).This doesnt affect the functionality of the toy, just the aesthetics.If you are not bothered by some bare cogwheels this is still a great toy!
It stands 2 feet tall to the top of the maze and is the perfect height for little ones.The other 3 sides are: ABC with pictures rotating blocks, Abacus, Sliding plastic pegs.The only side with stickers is the cog wheels so no worries about other sides losing stickers.
If they had made the cog wheels out of wood or had the design painted or imprinted into the plastic this toy would be a 10!

I love the design of this toy and so does my son. BUT, I sent the first one back because one of the crews was stripped and kept turning. I sure didn't want it to fall out one one and my son finding it. It had some paint marks on the inside and piece of wood on the inside was broken. Then, I got a replacement one that has one screw stripped once again and the 4 screws to screw the top were missing altogether and of course more paint on the inside. Made in China with lots of paint which also makes me nervous. Their quality control sucks, I can't believe that two out of two products are both defective. I feel bad for Amazon paying for shipping back and forth to send me new and will keep the second one, but will NOT purchase any more products from Anatex. This toy cost around $100 and for this kind of money, I expect quality. And this product is not quality.

I bought this table for my 2 year old and 3 1/2 year old to color and sometimes eat at.I bought mine at walmart.com and selected the "site to store" shipping option.This means you have to go pick it up at the store you choose, but the shipping is free and the total cost of the tableand 2 chairs was about $137.00. The table was no trouble to put together (it comes in a box in pieces) and is extremely solid.both my kids have sat on it, and even an adult sat on it and the table never wavered. ( i wouldn't recommend adults make it a habit to sit on the table though!).I sit in the chairs and do crafts with my kids and they are completely sturdy.The size of this table and chair set is a bit taller than most kids furniture, but I wanted that because my 3 1/2 year old is really tall for his age, and I didn't want him to outgrow this set before he would be done using it.The color is true to the picture online, and the top cleans beautifully.My daughter has colored with crayons on it many times, and they wipe off with a dry cloth or the mr. clean magic eraser.Doesn't seem to affect the finish on the table at all.I did have a small problem with the table seeming wobbly at first, but I put one of those felt pads on the offending leg and all was well.It's quite possible that it was my floor that waas having the problem, because we have since moved, and now the table is wobbly with the felt pad on one leg.Definately worth the money!!
We purchased this set for our daughter's 7th birthday present, as drawing and coloring are her two favorite activities, and she was bumping her knees on our little ikea table. This is very easy to assemble (about 45 minutes for one person) and is very pretty. It is solid wood, not a laminate. The table and chairs are all totally level, no wobblies here. I could see this being a very useful piece of furniture for tall 5 year olds to shorter 10 year olds, so it has nice dimensions. It can be used for working on homework, art, puzzles, lego, playmobil, wooden trains, and almost all board games. Adults can easily sit in these chairs--they are that sturdy. This could also be used as a children's table at Thanksgiving or other holidays where you already have too many people (large and small) at the main dining room table. The wood is so pretty, you wouldn't be embarrassed to have it in your most formal dining room, and children feel special sitting here (rather than banished!). Highly recommended.

I think it's a pain to have to adjust the settings every time the game is turned on.No one can read the questions with the default settings, unless someone is a speed reader with incredible eyesight.It would be nice if the game allowed the setting to remain set until manually changed.The questions are challenging, however, and we've had a lot of fun playing this game with friends.
*Note: if you want the downside of things: The screen is tiny! Come on toy makers, not every one can read tiny print.... size about an inch.*

This is actually a lot of fun and pretty easy to use. Recommended as a family game. The only complaint was mentioned earlier. The screen is a bit small and the text of the questions blur as it flys by. My daughter absolutely LOVES Grover.Unfortunately, all you can find at the stores where I live are Elmo and maybe a Cookie Monster.This Grover is very soft, cute, and durable; everything you want in a children's toy doll.At a little over a foot tall, he is the perfect size for my two year old to cuddle with at night.I know there's a product choking warning saying there's small parts but the only thing I can think they're talking about his eyes or nose, both of which are securely attached and would take a good deal of force to tear off.

Spongebob Squarepants Party Band
This toy combined two of my daughter's favorite things--sponge bob and music, so I had to give it a shot. A few of the pieces are a little on the flimsy side, but for the most part its a fun toy. Its comes with several different instruments are they all work well. I really like that all the pieces can be stores inside the drum so you don't misplace them. My daughter is three and she loved it.

I have a 1 year old daughter who loves it when I make puppets talk to her.I have really had a hard time finding puppet in the local stores, so I decided to turn to the internet.I used to have some Sesame Street puppets when I was a kid and thought that they were great.So I figured this would be a perfect puppet to use with my daughter.Here's the thing.The opening into the head of this puppet is too small to get a grown ups hand into and still be able to operate the puppet with any ease.This puppet is easier to operate than the Ernie puppet, (which I also bought) but still pretty difficult.
The overall look of the puppet is good, but it isn't very user friendly.Needless to say, I am pretty disappointed in this product and wish that I wouldn't have bought it.

My daughter loves it. I don't think it is designed for kids to operate, but kids can still have fun with it even if they can't operate it. I agree that upon arrival the mouth is somewhat too stiff to operate even for adults. But the easy solution is to take the mouth and force it open wide to 'stretch' it open. After you've stretched it open for a bit, you can put your hand in and operate it much easier. My daughter and I have a blast with it. Very well made and high quality.

I bought this set because both the Engine A unit and B unit had motors.
The track (which includes the roadbed) is easily snapped together and taken apart.
The detail on the engines and rail cars is good.
The controller lets you adjust the speed from a slow crawl to full speed without falling over on the 22" radius curves. A very fine product. As I have only had it a month the endurance quality will be shown in the future.

I just got this train set for Christmas from my wife and kids It is great set to get me started and it was easy to put together and load the trains on the track. What really made up my mind about buying this expensive toy is the secret passage inside that many reviewers pointed out.I cannot even describe how dissappointed I was to find no passage in the house when it was delivered.
I contacted Step2 and they sent a standard reply about some safety standards due to which the passage was eliminated.

Sending my house back is out of the question. Shipping a huge item like that will cost almost as much as the house itself.
I just don't understand why manufacturers cannot list all the changes to their products, so that the consumers were aware of what they are buying.
Assembly is not a breeze, especially since the holes are not actually there, but they must be created with an electric drill. However, once assembled, this house is very spacious, very well thought out, and fun.

We just purchased this for my 2 year old daughter and she loves it!It was very easy to set up, my husband set it up in 10 minutes and its very transportable from grass to deck. She loves playing in it and has brought some of her kitchen toys so she can "cook", and also has her kiddie lawn chair so she can have "tea time" with her friends! first off,you better have a lot of room to put this, as it's massive! easily big enough to sub-let out to a family if required!it's 18 months old and has been disassembled and reassembled 4 times and it is still holding up as strong as the day it arrived.
every kid who comes over goes nuts playing in and around the "cubby". kids smashing things against it, drawing on it with crayons, spilling food and drink all over it, no problems. the plastic feels like you could use it to use to build a real house really tough stuff that cleans really easy.
it doesn't have a floor. so if you have hard floors ( or want to protect your carpet from the spills and crayons) invest in some floor mats, and set up the playhouse ontop of them.
pay attention to which way you put the roof on, it can be put on " backwards" and if you have a wife with ocd, you'll have to take it off and put it back on so the chimney faces the right way!
Patty Puffkins Collection Plush Irish White Toy
I got this for my daughter as a little St. Patrick's day surprise and she really likes it. It is very cute, but is smaller than I expected. It is 4" high and 3" wide and easily fits in an adults hand. I suspect people familiar with Puffkins won't be surprised by the size, but I was expecting it to be more like the rolly pollie round little Beanie Ballz. For all that though, I think this little Puffkins is even cuter than I expected, I just had to get over the surprise at the small size!

I bought this particular toy for a very good customer who just had his first child.As soon as the little one can walk I know that he will be captivated by the colors and shape of this table.It may seem expensive but how many toys do we buy that get broken or discarded shortly after the package is opened?I used to work for a company that had one of these in each of their 300+ stores so that the children of prospective customers would keep busy and the parents would not be distracted.IT WORKS!And even if your 2-6 year old (the best ages for a toy like this, in my opinion) grows tired of it, think how nice it would be to have their playmates happy and occupied!
I have six children myself (all grown now) so I've had a lot of experience with money wasted on poorly made toys.This one is a well made version of a classic and well worth the price.
The legs keep falling off.I have used similar products from Anatek which stood up to much abuse by children,This piece is not durable enough for kid play.

Kids Table
I honestly love this table so much. The children love this table so much! It was shipped quickly to us (placed the order on Sept. 30th and received Thurs. Oct. 4th). It was one of the easiest furniture pieces to put together according to my husband. I highly recommend this set, but I would also recommend putting something over the table so your little ones don't draw on the table. My kids haven't done that yet, but I imagine that it may happen anyway.
Monopoly Nostalgia
I love this set. It is modeled after one of the original Monopoly set designs (there were only a couple of other designs before this one since Monopoly was introduced) and it is very fun to look over everything and see the differences in the pieces and the board compared to today's version. I really wish it was bi-folding like the Classic Monopoly set, these boards that fold in 4 seem flimsy and there are too many creases and a huge cut to the center of the board to achieve the smaller folding size. This is one of the Hasbro Nostalgia sets, and they all come in the same size wooden box for convenient storage so I suppose hat was done for that reason, and it is not enough to affect my rating. His is an awesome set to have for any Monopoly collection, or anyone interested in vintage replicas.
Playing Monopoly with London landmarks brings back past vacations there, and brings back memories. In contrast, I have only once been to Atlantic City (where the original game was based), and wasn't interested in the least in revisiting it. But a game is more than reminiscence; it should be fun and well-made. And this one holds up. The square wood case is durable and handy, with built-in cash holders. One disappointment was the cash: it seemed very small in size and the paper was pretty thin. I was hoping for some nostalgic paper money.This wood version of the game is wonderfully durable.It looks attractive when playing and when on the shelf.It has a classic aged look.

As far as Monopoly sets go, I can see keeping this one for life. The box is solidly constructed and the game partsitself is well made. I also like that the board is a bit smaller than normal the basic Monopoly board is larger than necessary in my opinion. The one negative is that the board folds in four and so it seems a little more prone to damage. However, overall, this is a great set.Want Monopoly Nostalgia Discount?
