I was looking for a nice, sturdy and large play table and this met my needs.It was easy to put together and it's quite sturdy, just what I was looking for. The design is nice, it's a little plain, but I didn't really want the boys play constrained by a design painted on.This works for us.
I tried to contact Plan Toys to ask what kind of wood the table is made of and what stain they would recommend (figure it'll get ruined pretty quickly if unstained, and I'd like it to last a while, especially at this price!), but couldn't find an email or a non-overseas phone number.
UPDATE After a little more digging, I found US contact information on the Plan Toys website. To find US contact information, you have to go to the US site, not the English site. I emailed, then called a few days later and left a message. I didn't get an email or a call back.A week after I'd emailed, I called again when they were open. The representative told me that the table is unfinished rubberwood and that they don't have a recommendation for a finish that I can buy because they make all of their finishes/lacquers/etc in-house. Bummer. But at least now I know it really is unfinished Amazon, please update the product description to indicate that it's unfinished rubberwood!
I love the table itself, but would have liked to have known it was unfinished/unstained before purchasing so I could plan to stain it (or look for another one that's already stained), or at least get a recommendation for a stain that's safe both for the table and for kids.The table arrived without the hardware assembling package. It was supposed to be a Xmas gift for our kids and we couldn't give it to them as there is no customer service at amazon.com where we could claim this and rectify the situation. Please help!!!
