this table is smaller than typical train table and also higher. i did not want to invest in the floor space required of a bigger traintable.the smaller size fits well in my 3 yr old child's small bedroom and she can play with it standing up only which is ok because she only plays with trains a little bit compared to all her other toys. i have the girl's imaginarium trainset with fountain that fits well enough within the table. the graphic is cute and bright and the table is sturdy and fairly easy to put together (mostly glue and wood dowels all included)
Got this when it was on special sale. This is a sturdy play table. I would recommend this to those who are looking for a simple playtable for kids. Ours has metal legs and the planks of wood on the sides are pretty solid. I would assume that they are solid wood. Happy costumer here.

Our little grandson loves the table.He is 2 yrs old and it is just the right height for him to brum his cars on and play with his trains on.It is colourful and strong. The only downside was that it worked out more expensive than I had anticipated because of extra costs eg shipping etc.But our grandson loves it! We bought it him for Christmas!
