These mats are wonderful. They are well made; cut down on the noise of the tiles; beautiful to look at; and are perfect in every way. Best I have seen; they rank way above any other table cover I have ordered.
Love the quality and colour vibrant red!Gets you into the spirit of the game.One down side, when shuffling the titles (twittering the sparrows) the nap causes the tiles to turn over (face up) so we are continually having to flip them face down.

Hard to believe that this is anything but intentional and perhaps owing to my own ignorance of Chinese Mahjong but the table cover...If you arrange it so that East on the table cover is truly East, then North and South are opposite of reality (North on the table cover will actually be South and South on the table cover will be North). It truly counters any intuition one has about directions and I don't understand the reason for this.
Thus the markings on the cover are irrelevant and it's just a nice table cover. Thought about returning it. Kept it because it is a nice table cover for playing Mahjong.
