I had one of these when I was younger and it worked so much better. Horses actually just fell down. Others didn't move. Only 2 or 3 horses made it to the end of the race. Kids still had fun playing with it, but we could not all play together with only a few horses running down to the end.

I was looking for an amusing game for my family to interact with on Christmas Day.The Desk Top Derby was a smash hit.All of my children are young adults and we had the best time playing with this.Both of my son-in-laws want one of their own.Children would be fascinated with it, but adults have way more fun with it!

This is a great game to sit around with your friends while enjoy some libations. It's a very simple to set up and very exciting.

Only small complaint is that, as in other reviews, 5 seems to win more than any other lane. However, you can work around this. Require bettors to pick win-place-show, or other exotic bets. What we do is: if your horse wins you win 1-2 your bet (bet a dime, get your dime back and a nickle). If you lose, your money goes to the pot. If you pick the correct horse 3 times in a row you win the pot. 5 wins a lot, but never three times in a row.

If you are looking for fun with friends away from TVs, PCs, tablets, and video games. This is great.

This product is supposed to produce a different winner each race.Actually it is the track that the horses race down is supposed to randomize the results of each race.Not so.My son and I have raced about 12 times and it is always the same.Number two has always won.Number 5 is second with No. 4 in third.Piece of crap.
