My 4 year old is crazy about Tangled, and I just had to get this for her.The good part is that she absolutely loves it.The bad....well, there's a long list....The plastic is quite flimsy, I dont think it will take my dog running into and knocking it over too many more times.
The top part that opens doesnt line up right from the minute we put it together, so to close it you have to lift up while closing, not the most convenient for a 4 year old who just wants to flip it shut.
The part you paint with the water brush is really cute, but why would they put a cardboard paper like floor piece right there??The tower is a day old and we already threw the soggy paper away, so now the floor is just solid purple.Would have been nice if it was a giant sticker or the plastic were just painted on the floor, I really dont think the people who design these toys actually have kids.
The hair extension that came with the tower is a joke.I expected the hair to be attached to something, but its just a wad of hair about 6 feet long folded in half with rubber bands every half foot or so, and where the hair is hair is folded you're supposed to put the barrett in and clip it to your own rapunzel's hair.I didnt even get the rubber bands out and the hair was so tangled I couldnt comb it out, and since the hair isnt really attached you have to really hold it while combing or it just gets shorter on the other side.My daughter never even got to use the hair, I ruined it before I even got the last rubberband out.Maybe the hair wasnt meant to have the rubber bands taken out, but then obviously you cant even brush it, which seems silly to me
So after all my complaints about this overpriced house, I have to say that my daughter absolutely loves it.She makes Rapunzel (who dont forget is sold seperately!) walk up the stair case, go to bed, put water in her bucket and paint her picture, and she loves to hide the camilion and necklace in the hiding places.Despite my opinion, its my daughter's favorite toy.I just wish they would have made it a little better.
The tower has some small hiding places, and is fully furnished. It was all my kids wanted to play with after it came out of the box. Some of the pieces were a little challenging to snap together, but once in place they stayed together. I would definitely recommend this toy.

I was bit reluctant to buy it after reading a fairly medium review of this tower here but I got it anyways since my daughter really really wanted it.I could not be happier with it. I am not quite sure aobut the complains of flimsines or something not closing because I asked a good old friend who works at the toysrus who always would help with honest and reliable feedback when asked about any given toy and she said that they did not have any returns on this toy nor complaints or exchanges and that location alone sold about 300 of them. Not ONE return! she was always honest with me about all toys we purchasedand if there was a problem she would always point what to watch out for or stay away. Never failed.
I am not sure what one expect from a 100.00 toy in general considering that it does what it is ment to do, it stands beautifully, it opens, it closes flash and when opened there is tons of room for the dolls and the bed. I don't know why people complaint that there is no enogh room for the bed, there is plenty
and you can position it iether on the top shelf or at the foot of the tower, kids do not necessarly insist on puting a bed inside the tower since it is no brainer that this tower in order to accomodate a bed in more enclosed fashion or the barbie doll on the top level standing wold need to be twice as big and take twice as much storage and money out of my pocket. If you ask me I can totally live with it. My daughter was extatic with it and two months later still is, she plays with it so much it is one of the best toys around.
Someone said aobut dog running into it.. as a strenght test.. well.. give me a 200 lbs labrador and it will smash all my and your toys. I am not sure if the toys are ment to be tested that way ;) or that this proves anything as I am not sure how many dollhosues would survive this kind of impact.
This toy looks spectacular and even if I was buying it for the looks alone it would be still worth it as it brings increcible magic into kid life,
I see her glooming when she plays with it and I hear her talking as she play her imaginative plays with it and her dolls as it makes alive the sceens from the movie in those moments, I saw Tangled movie with her and I myself fell for the magic of the tower as it gives total illusion of being part of this
beautiful place as it extends it into our home.

As to the hair extension, there are bands on it.. and it I don't know which girl can resist not taking them out and we all know what happens to the fake doll hair of this lenght when they are tangled.. oh well.. it is no problem here... my daugher went to removing the bands immediately and it all got tangled and she stated with triumph.. mom, NOW it is as it should be.. I asked??? and she said.. it is Tangled, just like the movie.
Tangled or not it does the trick even better as you can hang the prince beautifully of it and any other character you wish, it gives more grip that way, so no problem here with it. All Rapunzel dolls we have got their hair tangled to some degree including the 60 bucks one and what can you do, if you have
hair twice the lenght of the doll :) almost.. you expect this things. I am happy that it teaches child to live with things that do not look perfect allt the time and they don't have to put tantrum over because it is not as it was the moment it came from the box, if this is your goal then by all means do not remove the bands but then again, kids are about experimenting and I woudl much rather have tangled strain of hair and happy kid then perfect strain and kid who sit politely and mind her toys or she God forbid.. "messes the hair of the doll".
The tower stands in the corner of her room and looks SPECTACULAR and nothing short of amazing.
If I got a defective toy as someone said that this does not close flash I would exhcange it immediately because it does close flash and perfect
so no reason to dismiss all the fun if you indeed got a defective one. Those toys travel from around the globe and they have hinges and they are toll
and big and I would consider that it could happen that they can get messed up in the transport but I don['t suppose it is happening all the time because I would hear it from all my friends and family members who own it alike.

My 4 year old daughter got this from Santa for Christmas.I cannot tell you how much she loves it!!I had taken her to see Tangled in the theaters when it came out and she was star struck.She has been dragging a jump rope and/or long necklaces around behind her neck (pretending it is Rapunzel hair) and using our couch as her tower for weeks.After she saw the tower (and a dress up outfit and wig for her) under the tree, all her other toys have taken a back set.She spends time every evening playing Rapunzel with my husband and I.Just wish that I could get her the Flynn Rider doll and a Mother Gothel doll to go with it.Flynn is sold out everywhere.Great toy, wish I had one when I was little :)
