We borrowed one of these for my son's 1st birthday party thinking that some of the older kids would use it. They did. But so did my son. He was tickled by the idea of a picnic table that he could sit and eat at by himself. He'd only ever used a high chair before, so this was revolutionary to him. he spent a good amount of time just getting up and down from this table during his party! This table comfortable seated 4 small kids (ages 1-5) all at once.
Since then we've bought one. It's sturdy and we pull it out for coloring, when friends come over for lunch, or just because he likes to eat there by himself. While it's beyond the weight limit, I'm able to sit across from my son on this thing (I'm 125 lbs. and I have to keep my legs to the side, but I can do it).
A big bonus for me is that it folds down pretty flat. We live in a 1100 sq ft condo so there's a premium on floor space. When not in use, it easily folds down and can slide under a bed. I consider it a great investment.
