I contacted Sandtastik Inc. and they confirmed it is free of asbestiform tremolite as questioned by another reviewer.This is the safest sand available.Sandtastik White Play Sand has the ACMI AP non toxic seal and has ASTM D4236 certification meaning it has gone through rigorous testing to make sure it is completely safe.This sand is NATURAL sand, unlike most quartz mined man-made play sands.Molds well when wet.PERFECT, SAFE solution for children's sand tables.Not to mention it looks beautiful!The only drawback is the price not to practical to fill an entire 200lb sand box with it and I won't allow my kids to put water in the sand/water table since they'll turn it into mud and it will have to be replaced often.I don't want to have to replace it often at this price!I do highly recommend it though My children's safety is worth the extra cost.
Great clean safe sand.No silica.Works great for decorations and art projects or as play sand.Very soft feeling.Not coarse like regular sand.Molds great when damp.Pricey compared to normal sand, but worth it in my opinion.

we got a sandbox and went to buy sand for it. Suddenly we were made aware the "play" sand is not safe because of silica and scratching of the eyes. We went to the sandtastic webpage and looked at their store locator. I love this sand. It is so soft and fine. When you get it wet it packs nicely but does take a very long time to dry. By long time I mean DAYS. Also, because it is so fine it blows easily, so you don't want to be playing with it on a windy day.Save 44% Off
