Scrabble Premier Wood Edition

I wanted a nice gift for wife for Christmas and she loves Scrabble. In theory, this is a nice set. I like the rotating board and storage option, but I feel that the quality is not what I would expect for $100. The "sticker" overlay for the board has a wrinkle in it and scratches easily. The wood has a ding in it. I had hoped that this would be something that would last for years to come, but I am not sure why the manufacturing is not up to par. It, like most toys and items these days, is made in China. The game itself is fun and I like the nice touches, but I think Hasbro's quality control may be slipping.

This edition is very nice for any true Scrabble fan, especially with the wood rotating board and nice tile bag.However, this can be purchased directly from Hasbro .Why pay double the price when it is in stock there?You can also frequently find coupons for free shipping and 10-25% off as well.I love Amazon but some of the people who sell products on through Amazon are pathetically over-priced.

This product is extremely low quality and absolutely not worth the price.Scrabble is a great game, but this product is by no means "deluxe."The tile holders are glued together crookedly, the "leather" bag is plastic, the wood is particle board, and the construction is flimsy.Don't buy this product.

My husband purchased the Deluxe Scrabble game because, after playing every day for over 15 years our old Scrabble game was beginning to wear out.When he lifted the new game from the box about 50 ball bearings fell out of the part that allows the game to revolve.They bounced all over the floor.No one had bothered to plug the hole.These metal bearings would be DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN.

The "Faux Ivory" letter pieces are just white plastic, not as nice as the wooden ones in our old, less expensive set. When I reached inside the bag, I said "J" because I could feel the outline of the letter.

The top of the board is made of paper which looks like it will wear out very quickly. Our cheaper set is paper protected by clear plastic so it doesn't scratch, stain, or wear out.

It is obvious by the poor workmanship that this product was not made in the USA.

Scrabble is an enduring, educational and endlessly challenging game.It does not have to be

"Faux Deluxe" or overpriced to be worthwhile. We are returning it.
