  • The power of the magnifier is adjustable by rotating the threads.
  • The magnifier measures 2 1/4 in. (5.7 cm) in diameter and weighs 6.5 ounces (184 grams). The height of the magnifier can be adjusted between 2 inches (5.1 cm) and 2 1/2 in. (6.4 cm).

My daughter gave me the "Solid Brass Map Glass with Wooden Storage Box" by InsideOut", costing $14 from Amazon, as a Christmas present. The box is grand, & well-worth the $14 alone, but the magnifying glass was of poor optics and workmanship.

Ergo, I began searching for a replacement, found this Stanley London, which fit just perfectly into the box, and met all of my expectations. As advertised, the optics are grand from edge to edge, it's made of substantial solid brass, and the inner sleeve spins practically 360 degrees without any lube! And my daughter will never know that I switched!

It is also great to become acquainted with this fine company. If the quality of this one piece is indicative, Stanley-London's other period-instruments should be similarly superb!Oh, and I can't find "China" written anyplace thereon!
