We love this train set!The pieces are made from high-quality wood.Of course, a mother doesn't want to have to worry about splinters, so I appreciate the smooth sanding on all sides of these pieces.It contains 56 pieces of numerous sizes, and the curved and split pieces have grooves on both sides, so the curved pieces can be flipped and used to go either direction.My little brothers grew up with a similar set, but it had loose pegs that held the tracks together.They would get lost, jammed, or even pinch little fingers, so the single-piece construction of these track pieces is terrific, and I don't have to worry about the baby finding any small choking-hazard pegs.
