The oakenshield tends to fall off the arm, but the swords stay put. Orcrist is a lovely shape, and I can't wait to see it in the movie.
Very worthwhile for older children and grownup collectors. However, the swords and the shield are small. If you drop them, it might be hard to find these accessories again. After purchasing the other four dwarfs, I had high hopes for Thorin.Unlike the others, his sword belt is molded into his torso instead of as a seperate piece, and the scabbard for Orcrist is attached by a peg to a hole in his back. This isn't very secure, but the working scabbard is still a nice touch. Also, his oak sheild was bent back when I got it and the details are unimpressive. It also is attached by the peg and hole method and doesn't stick at all.I've kept the rubber band that came with the backaging to hold it to his arm.
Beyond that, the facial expression is a perfect match to the movie character. The multiple points of articulation are great.Thorin's second sword fits a holster that is molded to his hip.You can't collect these figures and not get Thorin, but I wish the construction had been done better.
