The Hobbit Thorin Oakenshield An Unexpected Journey 3.75" Figure
The 3.75-inch figure doesn't have Thorin's fur overcoat--apparently, only the 6-inch figure has that. But this is a nice item: very detailed and seems like the character's appearance has been carefully rendered.The oakenshield tends to fall off the arm, but the swords stay put. Orcrist is a lovely shape, and I can't wait to see it in the movie.
Very worthwhile for older children and grownup collectors. However, the swords and the shield are small. If you drop them, it might be hard to find these accessories again.
Beyond that, the facial expression is a perfect match to the movie character.The multiple points of articulation are great.Thorin's second sword fits a holster that is molded to his hip.You can't collect these figures and not get Thorin, but I wish the construction had been done better.

I was shopping for a friend when I found this toy. She likes penguins so I looked around to see what Amazon had to offer. This toy was so cute and adorable there was no doubt in my mind, I had to buy it. When I got it the feel of the toy was so soft and fluffy. And the color was blue which was great since blue is my friend's favorite color. I will say that the sound it makes is a bit odd and out of left field, but it doesn't take away from the toy. If you have a penguin lover, this one will definitely make them smile.

I have a DMI airhockey table (without electronics) and am impressed with the quality and design, so I decided to purchase a foosball table for my kids. The table is also impressive to look at and the quality of the handles and players are great for this price range. The side rails that stick to the side of the playing surface are kind of a waste as they continually peel off and look "cheap", but the biggest problem is the electronic scoreboardthe connections keep falling apart and i had to try to tape the connections together and even then the electronics don't work. DMI offered to sent a new end piece to their credit.

i just used it and the speed is so great! some say that they are having problems with control, for me i didn't have any. only with regards to the spin, it is kinda less. but totality, i like the rubber that's why im buying another one and changing the killerspin gt2 that i just bought with this. just one suggestion, hope they put a plastic shield on top of the rubber to protect its surface. but thanks! i really love the performance of this rubber! i would recommend it to anyone!

The detail on these pieces is wonderful.Very realistic looking and sure to thrill your little horse lover.They are perfect for Traditional sized models and, while they are made by Breyer, they work well with Imaginarium, Hartland, and other brands of the same scale.The net bag is the most fragile item in the set, but even that holds up fairly well under little hands.While I wouldn't recommend this set for smaller children (some of the pieces are pretty tiny) it's perfect for your horse-crazy gradeschooler.It also makes a nice "accent set" for older horse collectors.
This was bought as a Christmas gift to go with the barn I bought for my 3 year old. Each peice looks very real and unlike the some of the other sets, the pieces are not terribly small. This set is not as much fun as some of the other sets but goes well with the barn~ a must have, the metal trough is great!

While I agree this is super-cute, the truth is that it is about 1/3 to 1/4 the size I expected.I thought the balls would be the size of, say, a grapefruit, but they are actually not a lot bigger than a ping-pong ball.I am not sure where the product dimensions come in, because I don't think the bag is anything near a foot long.Had I seen it in a store, I would not have bought it, as I think the balls are too small.

Verry unhappy with this light the 90 LED light is a joke very dim, the cover won't stay open when you want to use the magnifier lense, and the lens is junk too. You can only focus in the very center of the lens.

This lamp is exactly as described. The light is white/blue that is the nature of the cool led light (there are warm led lights you have to aelect a lower lumen number if you want warm golden light similar to a regular light bulb. I use both types, bright white is preferred for some hobbie applications)Strong construction, adjustable and easily lockable and hold position. The LED lights give an even bright white illumination. Not as bright as a Halogen light, but LED lights do not get hot, so advantage to not get burned adjusting lamp, but a little less brightness than halogen.The magnifier is excellent 5x and its a Large size lens. (i found the 5x lens was too strong for me to work with a sewing machine, the placement made images too large to work with for long periods....but 5x would obviously be desiredl for other application that require high magnification. I just had no reference to what 5x "looked like" and found after getting another magnifier that 3x works best for me at the sewing machine for long times without making my eyes tired) that doesn't reflect badly on the lamp.....I would definitely recommend it for other uses. If you want 5x and bright/blue'ish/cool colored light is what you need for your use.
Looks exactly like picture. May not blend in with elegant room decor but is not ugly. The design is efficient and practical, not Philippe Stark stylish. I did take off the plastic cover over the lens, it didn't stay open at an angle and kept closing. Not smart design. But it easily pops out and I kept it off when testing it out.
Do you research and learn the differences in the new LED lights and the quality and "color" of light they emit. I use bright LED dimmable strip lights in under kitchen areas and use the "warm" LED's in rooms of my house for a more flattering light, easier on the skin and eye.

I bought this set for my three year old as an add on to the gender neutral big tub set. It's a great addition, but with all the blocks you get, it's a great stand alone set too. Following the directions, you can build a fancy castle, but you are not limited to just that. I looked at other sets, but they seemed to have mostly figures and not many blocks. This has both. My daughter loves building castles and this will get many years of use.She also likes that cinderella's skirt is removable so she can dress up the other Lego figures we have.

My 3 year old really enjoyed this as her first Lego. Her older brother puts Legos together all of the time, so it was nice for her to have her own!The initial set up took less than ten minutes for me, and she's been able to keep it together and take it apart a few times on her own.

My 23 month old granddaughter absolutely loves this set, and so do I. Here is why:
1. There are lots of pink and purple colors, which she likes.
2. She likes opening and closing the doors to the gate, putting Cinderella and Prince Charming in their beds (which come with blankets), and moving around the chairs, mirror, and table top that come with this.
3. The turrets fascinate her, and she discovered that she can actually use them as whistles (kids always think outside the box).
4. There are so many interesting configurations that you can build with this set, and the included booklet gives detailed instructions on how to do several.
Bottom line: My granddaughter has lots of fun with this.
Update December 11, 2012: Somehow my granddaughter managed to lose the Cinderella figure in my house. When I called Lego customer service to order a replacement, I learned that due to licensing restrictions, Lego cannot sell figures separately; technically I would have to buy a whole other castle set. However, as a courtesy Lego agree to send me the Cinderella figure at no cost, which was very nice and also a smart business decision to build good will. When I receive the replacement Cinderella I'm going to make sure I "guard" her carefully.

"The Claw" Electronic Candy Grabber Machine Arcade Game
I got this as a present for my 8yr old son for Christmas from JCPenny.When I saw the reviews here I was horrified so Xmas Eve we opened the box, added some small toys and candy to give it a try before putting it under the tree.We didnt want a disappointed child the following morning.The Claw Game worked right out of the box with no problems.Christmas morning my son opened this and has played with almost nothing since.The first day he spent almost 3 hours emptying everything we had placed in this even letting his 3 yr old brother have a few goes with some limited success.My 8yr old has ADHD and I wasnt sure he'd have the patience for this but it's been nothing but GREAT to have around.
The only downfall I found was the plastic bag wrapped around the claw was next to impossible to get off and took some doing, but overall I'm glad I didn't listen to the reviews and went ahead with this as a gift.I would recommend it to anyone!Even the adults in the house have had a good time trying to get things out of this toy....
My kids absolutely love those skill-crane games that you see in restaurants and shopping malls. Personally I hate them as you typically end up spending several dollars to possibly end up with a low-quality toy that is probably worth a dollar or less. So having this machine at home is probably a good investment if it means that you will be able to waste less money on the commercial machines.
This product works with gray plastic tokens that are included with your purchase. Pushing one of these tokens into the slot activates the game. The tokens accumulate in a compartment underneath and can easily be removed any time. Many times the token sticks in the slot instead of going all the way in; this is not a big problem as the game is still activated, and the next token will push the previous token all the way in.
One sign of the questionable construction quality is the fact that when the claw is moved (during gameplay) to the right of the machine, it tends to rub against the sliding lid (that slides off to allow you to add prizes) and sometimes causes the lid to slide open. A little duct tape prevents this (but spoils the look of the machine, if that is important to you).
I recommend purchasing the refill pack of prizes. Which are basically junk (plastic cars, bendy aliens etc.) but the point of this game is not the prizes. My kids are still enjoying playing this after a couple of weeks, but they have no interest in playing with the prizes, just the challenge of winning one. (Even my 14-year-old enjoys playing this on occasion!) And playdates who come over absolutely love trying this machine, especially when we tell them that they can keep one of the (worthless) prizes that they may happen to win.
I would love to be able to spend more money to get a better quality skill crane toy, but nobody sells such a thing right now, so this was pretty much my only option. And so far it is working out well, but given the cheap feel of the toy I am not sure how long it will hold out.

I was very concerned about ordering this based on the negative reviews posted here however my son has been dying for one of these.I opened it up as soon as it arrived to test it out, expecting it to be broken, but it was packaged very well with the buttons cushioned and after I inserted the batteries, it worked just fine.The claw moves back and forth, goes up and down and opens and closes as it should.
The music that plays with it is very loud and maybe I'm just getting old, but I find it kind of annoying, but I am sure my son will love it and will be the favorite birthday gift.

I have mixed reviews for this item.Trying to cut cost I bought a plain table cloth and bought the center piece.I didn't really check it out before I ordered.Care bear party items can only be found online where I live.So I bought the center piece for what felt like a good price. It was one of the last items to come in.For a while it looked like it would not get in before the party.When I did get it, I was shocked to learn that the shipping was $4 or more for a piece of cardboard and paper that only cost a little over a dollar.I used standard shipping not overnight shipping.That is what upset me the most.I could have ordered a book with less of a shipping cost.But at the same time it was my own fault for not paying attention to the shipping.It just felt like a huge wast of money.I could have made my own centerpiece for the fraction of the cost by printing out care bear pictures on line.Don't do what I did.Watch the cost of shipping.Judy Smith

Guidecraft Transportation Table and Chair Set
I received the table and it had multiple scratches on both the table top and chair seat. It was very difficult to deal with this merchant. I had to send them pictures proving that there was damage and when they received the pictures they stated that they would only send me parts to replace the damaged areas. I wanted to send back the entire set and just have a replacement one sent back to me. They told me they would not send me a new set even though I was sending the damaged one back because it was not economical for them to do that. Now I am stuck with a table and chair set that does not match. The paint colors are a little different from the new pieces that were sent and the original ones.

This is a good sturdy table which my son will have for years to come. It is very colorful and great quality. I'm not giving it 5 stars because it arrived with a scratch along the table top. Camp Board Game
This game is the answer for playing family games that are interesting for players from young children to adults.It combines the fun of a board game with learning about nature and the outdoors.Board games are often targeted to either young children (and thus a little boring for older players) or to older children/adults (and thus too hard for younger children).Some adult skill-level games have youth versions but the questions would be too easy for adults playing along. Family members of different ages and abilities can play this game together and each be challenged.
The secret is in the question cards.There are 4 levels of questions on each card; all the question are on the same topic.Level 1 questions are very very easy: something like "what animal is in this picture?"Each level increases in difficulty to Level 4 which has fairly difficult questions about that animal.Some question cards entitle the player to take a shortcut.One person needs to be able to read but that same person could read the questions for all players because you need the decoder to see the answer.
Players shake a die to move along the game board.If the player lands on a space with white footprints, the turn ends.If the player lands on a space with green footprints, the player gets a question.If the player answers correctly, the player can shake the die and move again.If incorrect, the turn is over.
Along the way there are spaces that send a player back to the camp clubhouse.When a player goes there, the player (or someone else playing who can read) reads a fun fact.These cards are simply educational; there is no need to answer anything on them.
This game would be perfect for a family that has children of different ages/abilities who enjoys nature and the outdoors or for the parents or grandparents to play along with the children.
This is a great family game.I have a 5 and 8 year old and they both love it, as well as my husband.The different levels challenge everyone and the Fun Facts are very educational.It's ok, not as much fun as other reviewers made it sound. We played with a 9 yr old, 2 14 yr olds & 2 adults, the levels were fine. Level one ridiculously easy, basically look at photo and identify animals.Finally we gave up on board game part and simply asked the questions, which was a good around the campire activity.
For what it is worth, I think game is overpriced and could have just been trivia cards.

I was excited to get a game that had various levels to include the whole family but it did not live up to expectations.The questions are good. The real flaw in the game is the board itself.There are too many spaces where no question is asked.It is possible to go around the entire board without getting a single question.It is also possible to win the game without answering a single question.
