My little 6 year-old daughter received this project as a gift for her birthday. She had such a good time making it (actually able to do it herself = free time for daddy!) and her friends were really excited about the finished product. In fact, my daughter told me one of her friends was planning a "tutu party" theme for her next birthday.I am more of a "soccer dad" than an "arts & crafts dad", but even I had to admit it looked likethey were having fun.Very cute kit & an appropriate name for the product!

We did this while my little guy napped as a quiet activity for some mommy/daughter quality time. She tried to do some knots but got a little frustrated so I did the knots and she handed me the colors in a color pattern. We had fun.We did take a small break and then she really wanted to finish it.She has been dancing around and around in it.I think she (and I) enjoyed putting it together. :)I do agree there could be more material but it was a gift that we are grateful we got from a lovely friend.Read Best Reviews of Alex Toys Tutu Cute Craft Kit Here
Our granddaughter was given this kit for her sixth birthday. We were very disappointed with it.She was not able to assemble it without extensive help from an adult. The tutu is made by attaching strips of tulle to an elastic waistband with larkshead knots, and making stacks of shorter tulle strips into flowers. The tulle is hard for a child to handle, and it is hard to space the strips evenly around the elastic.Once the tutu is assembled, it is way too short for a child of six--it barely covers the hips, and our granddaughter is slender and only a bit taller than average for her age. When the child pulls off the tutu, everything becomes a knotted, tangled mess that has ended up neglected in the bottom of the dress-up chest.I have really liked some of this company's kits, but this one is ill-conceived.

I didn't like the way it looked when finished. Not enough strips of material to make a nice full skirt. I should have just went to the fabric store to buy the stuff and make it by myself like I first wanted to. You can find instructions to make those on the Internet. Just google no sew tutu.
Sorry Alex toys, I usually love your brand but this one...not so much.
