Can You Imagine Lumin Disk 6" Battery Operated, Green
Received and opened the box, removed the disk unit, power cable, and instructions.It arrived undamaged.The disk is smaller than expected, but still as specified in product details.Don't think of this as a plate, think of it more like a salad plate...or a tea saucer.The glass panel disk is 6" side to side (the width of a dollar bill), but as you notice in the picture there is a 1/2"'ish border all the way around, making the electric surface only about 5" across much smaller than I envisioned.There is a battery compartment, or you can plug it in to the AC outlet provided.Even though the front panel is thick glass and feels durable, the back housing is plastic and looks/feels much less sturdy.The rear of the unit has a notch for wall mounting.The small black switch on the side has 3 settings; Sound/Off/On.In SOUND mode the disk will flash with sounds.To test it, I placed it next to a small radio and got no lights.However when my wife started talking (about 5 feet from the unit) it picked up her voice.I was standing right next to the unit talking, and it seemed to not pick up my voice very well.Conclusion: this thing likes chicks better than dudes.
While in the ON setting, it continuously flashed in the typical random patterns.It is a very bright and busy display, and the surface does respond to touch.Later that evening, I took it to my pitch-black garage (see my other review of lasers) and it was extremely bright...I mean you could probably read a book with this thing."Supah Bri-eeeet!"
This will be a great addition to my Halloween display of power panels and toxic pumps.
Very happy with this product.My son uses it every night as his night light.His friends are crazy about it too.Only thing to know is that the disk part is made of glass so it wouldn't be appropriate for younger kids.

I purchased three Lumin Disks for use as part of a prop for the stage musical "Li'l Abner". They were used at the top of three "radio towers" on a 6 ft diameter "globe", and plugged into an NSI/Leviton relay box connected to my stage lighting controller. As three "news reporters" were spotlighted in turn, the Lumin Disks were lit to correspond with the transmission "location" of the reporter (USA, Russia, Japan) on the globe. The visual effect was exactly as I had envisioned, and couldn't have looked better.The Lumin Disk is either wall-wart powered, or battery powered, and works continuously, or is sound-activated. I can see using them in future stage props, set around a dance floor as an easy to use, trouble-free lighting effect, or anywhere just to look cool.

This is an entertaining product but it does have an effect on your electronics.I placed mine near my backlight keyboard.For some reason it would cause the keys to go dark every time I switched it on.Suffice to say I moved it from there and no problem, but you have got to wonderif it affects a keyboard that way what else is it affecting?Want Can You Imagine Lumin Disk 6" Battery Operated, Green Discount?
Works fine when plugged in to AC charger.I've never used it with a battery set.Color is bright green.My ratings:
Fun: 5 because it does what it is supposed to which is randomly shoot out green electricity inside the glass plate
Edu Value: 3 uh, well I guess you can see how electricity goes to "ground" when you place your fingers on it, if that is its edu value
Durable: 4 made of glass so obviously you can't drop it folks, but it will take a bump or two while sitting on a stable platform, i.e. table, nightstand, etc.
Overall: 5 because it serves its advertised and intended purpose well

My kids loved this seat a lot, they would fight for it, they loved to eat in it, write, just sit and watch TV. assembly was ok not so hard, looks small but kids manage to get in and out within 2 days, the bad things are: did not seem steady within 2 weeks, my 18 month old stood on it and ofcourse fell, not so practical for toddlers since they don't like to sit still anywhere anyway.I don't recommend it for under 2y/o for the above reason. it fit one child only (just by the way).

I got this for my 4-year old.It's a good place for her when we eat in the living room and acts as a drawing space.We keep her crayons and paper in the drawer, but it would be nice to have a back where the drawer slides so it can't slide all the way through.The instructions seemed as though they must be generic to many different chairs, because the shapes of the pieces were different, but there aren't that many pieces so the picture on the box was enough help to get it together.With the desk it looks a little difficult to slide into, but that's from an adult perspective, she doesn't seem to mind.And I agree that it's big enough to use for probably another few years.Want Disney Cars Chair Desk with Pull out under the Seat Storage Bin Discount?

4 in 1 Walker
I bought this for my 9 month old Grandson and he loves it. We lock the wheels and it stays secure while he pulls himself up.Soon he will be pushing it and walking behind it.He also loves to sit on it and be pushed around the room. It has a storage box that he puts wooden blocks into. The horn and key keeps him busy without being annoying like a lot of the toys that play music everytime a button is pressed.
Otherwise, i think this is a great learning toy.

Although I have not yet seen the product "in action," I am told my the parents of the children that the 3 year old loves this toy as much as the one year old--for whom it was intended. That speaks well to me for an interesting push-toy. Having sent many of these types of toddler-walking-pushing wagons or cars, it was really fun to select a product that was different and from a newer manufacturer.
This walker/rider is super cute.My son loves the built in tool box in the seat he loves to hide things!The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 is that when used as walker and pushing on the front it flips very easily because there is no weight in the back.I started putting some books or magazines in the tool box to give it some weight and keep it from flipping.

We bought this exact(Design) at Walmart last year(2009) for $39.
I love it, the only con is that the zipper is very cheap made. I wanted to take it off to wash it and the zipper head broke right off. Now i have to put in a new zipperhead to get it to work cause it needs a washing lol.
They still sell at Walmart with new Designs for $45. Not worth at all to spend close to $100 on them!!!

I have compared details as best as I am able, and I appear to have a toy that may be an early generation of this toy. The joints, coloring, and posture appear to be identical, but mine lacks the speaker in the chest, and has no sound effects. As far as the walking goes... I've never been so shocked by a toy. Mine was manufactured in 1993... to that makes it 18 YEARS OLD, and it is STILL FUNCTIONING PERFECTLY. Every leg works, it still has the springy joint connections that prevent damage if a joint is forced to move wrong. As far as the engineering goes, I'm amazed. I build robots as a hobby, which is why I bought this toy... I am UTTERLY DUMBFOUNDED by how smooth the walking action is. Though the screen printing on the fetlocks is wearing and scratched, and there are scuffs and stains on the toy, and the doll and accessories were long since lost, this toy horse stands the test of time as the most amazing toy I have seen in my life! In terms of longevity and durability, technical and mechanical impressiveness, and the plain and simple "cool factor", this toy wins top marks in my book. This toy horse is at least 20% cooler than any electronic or mechanical toy I've ever come across!I certainly hope the newer versions of this toy are as well built and are as impressive.
The engineer in me want to disassemble this toy so bad and see how it works!!! :D

I've bought a lot of puzzles off Amazon's website, this particular one blew me away, the finishing of the each of the pieces was just wonderful, the image quality was lovely and overall, it joy working on it. After I completed it, it looked so nice I didn't' want to take it apart. What I loved so much about it was the quality finishing, the pieces had a velvety mat finish, and were just a delight to piece together. If anyone knows of any other puzzles by this brand with the same finishing please do let me know.Thank you

You would not want to repair any cue that is worth repairing with this kit.The head of the cue clamp is smaller than a cue tip and it's angle is slightly off.When you press the cue tip against the clamp, one side of the cue tip will separate from your cue, causing a bad bonding.It comes with 12 low-quality cue tips.The chalks are okey, except that they are not even square and sizes are slightly different.I wonder how the sizes of the chalks can be made irregular.Maybe they were made by hand ...
Oh, one more thing.To prevent the cue clamp from scratching your cue, the kit comes with some felt cloth.However, you have to put the felt cloth on the clamp by yourself and the glue on the back of the cue clamp is not sticky enough ...
I've decided to go back to my old repair method; buy my own cue tips, apply glue and let it dry a little before pressing the cue tip onto the cue, drop the cue heads-down to the floor a few times to make sure a good bonding, shape the cue tip after a few hours.
It worked great I have kids that drop sticks and the tip pops off .I used this kit and fixed them up .A very good product.

Everything else is low quality, including the tips, but they could be good for house cues.The cement takes awhile to bond -24 hours.I'm hoping that the tip will come off a little more clean because of this cement when I retip my cue in the future.Otherwise, I probably would've used some sorta loctite instant bonding cement as per some youtube videos.Time will tell!

Don't waste your time.Tips have shrunk after the mold, there are indentations all the way around.The felt for the cue tip repair tool was dry rotted and the spot stickers won't stick, even after you get them separated from the paper they are printed on.I am returning mine.

I ordered this table at what, at the time, I thought was a steal for $39.99 w/FREE shipping It is advertised as "sturdy wood construction".When it arrived I learned that it wasn't very sturdy at all and the table top and seats are pressed cardboard & not wood at all.
I actually had to wood glue one of the side pieces together and am considering glueing all of the joints to makes it a bit more sturdy.
I bought it because I was looking for an inexpensive outdoor table, but there is no way that pressed cardboard will hold up in the rain. As an indoor table it is decent but there are already dents and dings in the table top from my children.

Even if the rest of the negative reviews were wrong (which they are not, but I won't bore you with a repeat of the same complaints), the seats are very far away from the table, making it difficult for a small child to do anything (eat, draw, read, etc) on the table.When the screws backed out, seats came off, and table collapsed, we considered fixing it with new screws, holes, wood glue, etc., but really the design makes it not that great of a table and not even worth the time to do that.In my opinion, it's not even worth the 14.99 we paid.Someone paying full price would probably be livid.

Rich Dad Cashflow 101 board game (VHS/Audio Tape)
I've played this at least a dozen times, and have to admit that the game itself is imperfect.However, it HAS taught me a number of things which Kiyosaki does not make clear in his books, and is essential practise for anyone wanting to take the next step after first having read the book.My tips:
1.Read the book first before playing, otherwise it will probably all seem boring and too weird.
2.The game makes clear:The way to make passive cashflow is NOT on the positive cash flow from rental properties. (Suprised?)The rental income only secures the property, which you must be able to sell for a profit.The money made on the gains from selling the houses is then used to buy businesses these are what give you the passive cashflow to finally "get out of the rat race."
3.Take the income statement sheet you've used playing the game and fill it out for your own life.You'll be surprised how little your free cash flow, and passive income really is.Use the excel worksheet to track your progess month to month.An excellent motivator.
Game Design Problems (and Fixes):
1.The cards which allow you to buy insanely low priced shares of stocks for $1, which you can be certain will go up to $20 or $40 later when the right card comes up.Life is not that predictable. Remove these cards from the deck.
2.Other players will frequently advise on what is a good deal or not.This is a mistake, because it doesn't allow other players to MAKE mistakes, and takes much of the fun out of the game.Instead, allow each player to make their choice to buy a property (or not) WITHOUT input, and only after let the other players give their opinion on this course of action.
3.The game takes a loooong time with 5-6 players.Since the players actions don't really affect each other, it is advisable to play with 3 players.
4.The game seems to suggest that the bank will allow you to borrow to purchase a business, this is usually not the case. Make it a rule not to allow this.
5.The interest rate charged on loans is excessive in the game.Set a more moderate rate of 1 % a month on all loans.
6.Don't get stuck playing this game over and over again, too afraid to apply the lessons in real life.(I've seen people paralyzed by fear, who keep playing the game instead of applying its lessons).Use it as a teaching tool, not a substitute!
Like my title suggests, try the software version first.It allows you to play with multiple players on or off-line or vs multiple computer players.Plus the software version is cheaper.You can even use the multiplayer mode for yourself and use the different players to try different strategies.I found this technique very educational. I have the board game also to play with my wife and others and have yet to crack the wrapper.I stongly suggest going to the Rich Dad website and getting the software version before investing in the board game.The one draw back is that you must have the cd in your drive while playing, so if you want to load it on multiple computers you can only play it on the comnputer that has the cd.

I bought the game a year ago, and have played it at least six times with 2 5 players.I like to get some friends together, eat a meal, and then spend a couple of hours playing the game.It's interesting to see how my friends approach financial decisions in the game – some are confident, others are very cautious.
This is a good way to help you think in a financially healthy way.You see that spending money on "doo-dads" doesn't help your bottom line, that borrowing from the bank is sometimes necessary to purchase a good property, that the stock market can dramatically grow or shrink your capital, what to look for in rental properties, and you get an appreciation for the "big picture" – that you have to work toward increasing your passive income and not sweat little expenses.It's all about helping you and your friends train your minds to think "passive income is preferable to a paycheck from my employer".
Some people have criticized the game for using dice (like Monopoly), for not allowing people to decline the purchase of a "doo-dad", and for having a bias toward using large stock market profits to catapult players into the fast track.The game is not perfect, it's not identical to real life, and there will forever be ways to improve it.
Cashflow succeeds in it's mission to teach you and your friends some of the roads to financial freedom.

No, I'm not the wealthy real estate investor that is going to tell you what you really need to learn how to become wealthy... but I can identify a few things that won't help (and unfortunately, many are in this game).Like the previous reviewer noted, a lot depends on luck (a whole lot).But what's worse is that you can get lucky with things that will never really happen.For example, when you draw and opportunity card that allows you to buy some stock and it gives you a trading range (i.e. OK4U is selling at $5/share and has a trading range of $5-$40/share.)Who would not invest in this if you knew what it would be worth later?In the "real world", however, you will never have this type of information (absent a crystal ball).
This is my biggest problem with the game, because after playing it a lot it is very clear that buying these types of stocks and then selling them when the price goes up for huge profits is the best way to get your hands on enough cash to invest in the amount of real estate it would take to get you on the "fast track".This is not the lesson that the game should be teaching (just like the lesson of getting lucky) for people to become wealthy.Robert Kiyosaki even advocates in several of his books how stocks are risky and unreliable b/c of the baby boomers, enron-like companies, yada-yada-yada... and then he includes them as a necessity to winning a game.
If you're like me, you bought or are considering buying this game because you think it will be one of the best ways to condition yourself to think and act in a way that will create wealth.And like me, you either are or will be disappointed if you buy the game and have already learned the basic concept of creating wealth through real estate.(Buy rental properties and rent them out for more than your mortage payments so you obtain "passive income" while you also chip away at your mortgage and the property slowly appreciates.)If you didn't know it yet, you do now, so you can save yourself the price of the game.
One thing that will surely help that is not part of the game that you can control is not blowing money on "doodads" (things you don't need like shopping sprees and boats).The less you spend on doodads, the sooner you will have money for that down payment on your next rental property.In the game you have to pay for doodads if you land on the doodad square and then you buy whatever card you draw, which is not how it works in the "real world".In the real world you get to make educated choices about where you spend your money, and here's a great example:paying $200 for a board game that isn't very fun and doesn't serve much educational purpose is without a doubt what I would call a "doodad"!

This game teaches you the fundamentals of leaving the rat race. It isn't very realistic because Robert Kiyosaki made it very simple. It does teach you some great fundamentals of how to invest in real estate and paper assets.
I too had a slightly negative opinion about this game when I played it the first few times. After playing it about 6 times (robert kiyosaki recommends playing it at least a dozen times), I can now see the benefits of this game. The game isn't about buying stocks in the beginning and then buying real estate later (which a lot of people do as their 'strategy'). It's about using the bank's money to get the investments you can't afford, finding good deals on various investments, and so on.
One challenge is to try to consistently get out of the rat race in 1 hour or less. The more you play the game, the more you'll see the basic strategy of how to get out of the rat race in this game and possible in real life.
