After a few trips to the park, my 18mo/old started going around all day saying "slide".We don't have the room in our backyard for a playset, so we settled on this one.I don't think she has left the thing alone for 5 min since we got it.The bottom of the slide spits the child out only about 2 inches off the ground.However, after much sliding over carpet, my child started holding her little rear.So, we put an exercise mat at the bottom to cushion the end of the ride, and she loves it!!!It does fold, but not too easily, however, I have not had the chance to put it up :-)

I was so excited about getting a slide for my twin girls.I knew it would mean constant guidance at 15 months, but figured I'd start with the smallest, simplest, and least dangerous.HA HA!Wrong!This is very small, but too small for even this age, since they sit and their feet are almost half way down it to start.There is no platform to sit on at the top, and there isn't a railing on the slide itself to hang onto.It is so short and steep it is like a freefall and slam straight into the ground.The steps are vertical and impossible for wee ones to climb. I'm a tomboy and don't mind some thrill, but this is just poorly designed I'm going to try the Hide and Slide instead.Looks a little more gradual, like there is a railing, and claims it is meant for little ones with the multiplatforms.

My only complaint would be that it is smaller than I expected it to be but I could have figured that out from the product description.It was great for the price, however.Though it is small my kids enjoy sending themselves and their toys down it.Fun!

This is a great beginner slide, perfect for smaller toddlers.The age recommendation on this says 1 1/2 to 4 years.I can't see a 4 year old using this slide, as it's very small.My son is 2, he's tall though (wears 3T clothes) and his feet touch the ground before he's 1/2 way down the slide.He still loves it though.It's the perfect height for the little ones, so even when they fall off it's not too high off the ground to really hurt them.Even if he's a little too tall for it, my little boy will spend an hour sliding away on it!Save 15% Off

My daughter was so excited when she got this chair she squealed. It was very easy to put together and so far very durable. It has a nice coating over the entire chair so I think it will be a long time before any wear starts showing. The underneath little cubby bin is very handy and my daughter enjoys putting her things in there and then taking them out.The Elmo "eyes" definitely attract little ones and the painted on ABC & numbers and cup are a bonus. My little one was just over 13 months old when I set this up for him. He went straight to it, climbed on and sat down! Senior Moments Board Game
This is a board game that even kept my teenagers cracking up!It involves some strategy, but mostly memory skills and the ability to laugh at yourself.
I love this game. I played it with my family, and we had a lot of fun. It is generally easy to play, doesn't take that long (an hour or less), isn't that hard, and is suitable for all ages. I think adults would enjoy it more than kids though.
My main complaint is that to move, you have to memorize a lists of 2-5 things.Each list comes from 2 small booklets. Unfortunately after you finish all the lists in the booklet, you're screwed (sort of). There are enoughlists in these booklets, and although from game to game you may forget the specific content of this list, if you play often enough it could become an issue. My guess is that after 5-10 times of playing it, you will have gone through all the lists and will have to start over. This doesn't seriously interfere with gameplay if you don't play it too often though.

I have had this game for quite some time. Over the past few years, my husband has been gradually slipping more and more into the disease of dementia. A couple of months ago, we started having Home Health care workers come in. Onc of them is a speech therapist, whose task it was to help him improve his ways to remember things. I ordered this table at what, at the time, I thought was a steal for $39.99 w/FREE shipping It is advertised as "sturdy wood construction".When it arrived I learned that it wasn't very sturdy at all and the table top and seats are pressed cardboard & not wood at all.
I actually had to wood glue one of the side pieces together and am considering glueing all of the joints to makes it a bit more sturdy.
I bought it because I was looking for an inexpensive outdoor table, but there is no way that pressed cardboard will hold up in the rain. As an indoor table it is decent but there are already dents and dings in the table top from my children.

Even if the rest of the negative reviews were wrong (which they are not, but I won't bore you with a repeat of the same complaints), the seats are very far away from the table, making it difficult for a small child to do anything (eat, draw, read, etc) on the table.When the screws backed out, seats came off, and table collapsed, we considered fixing it with new screws, holes, wood glue, etc., but really the design makes it not that great of a table and not even worth the time to do that.In my opinion, it's not even worth the 14.99 we paid.Someone paying full price would probably be livid.

I really wished I opened it before my sons' birthday party. I was disappointed for 2 reasons. There was a giant PINK stripe through the picture of the sharks because it was obviously at the end of a dye lot. Try to explain that to a 5 year old! Secondly, the print is not on the entire table cover... just the edges. It's mostly plain white. Uncle Milton Star Wars Science Death Star Planetarium
Yet another inferior quality "toy" unscrupulously pushed onto 2nd generation Star Wars fans! Just like any action figure produced in the last 10 years, (Y'know, the ones that can't stand up or hold any weapon!) the expectations far exceeded the result. I swear that more design and thought goes into the packaging and marketing of the Lucasverse than any actual play value. It seems that every modern Star Wars product is really just supposed to be displayed in the box. Once you take it out to use it, you see it for the piece of crap that it truly is.I disagree with some of the reviewers who are complaining about blurriness. It's a tiny circle shining light in a big square room. Unless your kid bunks under a low dome, of course it's going to be blurry in spots. On the bright side, half of the Star Wars galaxy map simply says "Unknown Regions," so you don't even have to look at that side of the room! Whether the other dome actually projects "Earth's sky" is up for debate. It just looks like a bunch of evenly spaced dots to me without any labels or supporting materials. I'd love to find out if there is actually any accuracy in the placement of those 'stars.' Well, I would, but it doesn't really matter since this product is now useless after just 3 nights.
Firstly, the 2 light bulbs and 2 screws that came with it were so tiny that they were almost lost in the packaging. The 4 pieces were wrapped so tight into a tiny taped bundle no more than 3/4" long and 1/4" wide. I had thought they were not included after my son tore open the packaging, but later found them across the room. It just looked like a tiny piece of plastic bag.
The first of those two bulbs burnt out the first night. And I mean burnt. It was totally black inside. Now, in full disclosure, my 8-year-old son may have fallen asleep without turning it off. But thank goodness they had enough decency to include a spare bulb, right? So, I changed the bulb and we used it about 5 minutes on the next night. But that second bulb didn't last more than 30 minutes on the following night. WTF!? Really? Didn't they learn anything from Return of the Jedi? Make the second one stronger or it, too, will quickly be destroyed! I don't even know if replacement bulbs are available. It looks kind of like an LED bulb, but if it was, I don't think that it would have burnt out so quickly, or burnt out at all.
If this wasn't a gift from Grandma, I'd seriously consider taping all of those garbage action figures to it, sticking an M80 inside, pressing 'record' on the camera, and running like hell. I'm sure that the 'durable' plastic joints on each of those guys would disintegrate into a shower of shrapnel not seen since Alderaan took one for the good guys. Well, I'm not going to be taken in by any Star Wars Schwag anymore. If I want my kids to experience stars at bed time, we'll sleep outside. And if they want to have an action figure instead of an inaction figure, we'll get the vintage guys on eBay!

I came here primarily looking for a solution to the bulb issue.I was not able to find the correct bulb, which is a mini halogen, BUT since its the holiday season I was able to mcguyver a workaround.I pulled an LED bulb from one of my christmas strands, and while the prongs are a little long, it fits and lights up just as bright as the stock.If this fails I'll post a follow-up, but it appeared to work pretty well.
The halogen burns out for 2 reasons .. one those little halogens get extremely hot and that's an enclosed unit.Secondly, any contaminents will cause it to overheat.Basically if you use bare hands and don't clean the bulb with alcohol after installation, its contaminated.
So, as far as the toy itself?My 9 year old son thinks its the coolest thing ever.It's about the quality you would expect from a $20 toy and its a map of the star wars galaxy.So I think its cool.Pain to put together as others have mentioned.But it is unique and something that lights up a kids room at nights ... kinda like walking around a city, gives them a reason to look up for a change.
So yeah if you buy it just go ahead and find some replacement LED christmas bulbs and use those instead and save yourself some hassle down the road.

This globe provides a low-quality projection of both the "real" night sky and an imagined Star Wars night sky. Rooms larger than approximately 10 by 10 ft will result in out of focus stars. Nonetheless, I found that my oldest (7 years) boy was quite captivated and invested quite a bit of time exploring all the sky features he could recognize. So, in the spectrum of scientifically-inspiring toys for kids, I would rate this one as reasonably effective.

Bright Starts Walk-A-Bout Walker
I got this for my baby when she was 5 months old and out growing her bouncer. She loves this toy and actually WANTS to to play with it rather than just tolerating not being in my arms. All in all, I have been very happy with the purchase. The colors are bright and fun (they make me think of a beach stand that sells rainbow sherbet), and the toy bar is excellent. The only complaint that I have it that it could move a little easier.Toy Bar
She immediately LOVED the toy bar (which is one of the main reasons I bought this walker over others). It has an excellent variety of shapes and activities on it that are all easily within chewable range. The bar in the middle can be turned to arch inward or outward to make it closer or farther away from baby. The spinning ball on the side can switch positions with the bendable vine on the other side. I love that I can attach other items to the rings that hang from the vine, and all toys can be easily removed from the tray if needed.
Walker
It has taken my baby a few weeks to figure out that the seat moves since she was just enjoying sitting/standing and chewing on the toys. I removed all the bumper bars on the bottom since they made it impossible to roll on the carpet with her in it. Even without them it is a little difficult for her to move. The wheels in the back don't spin freely, but I am guessing that it is supposed to be that way as a safety feature so that the walker will not get away from her. At 5 and 1/2 months she is now able to move around some on the wood floor, but not yet the carpet. It is not very difficult for me to push around, so I am thinking that the trouble is more her not being quite strong enough than a design issue with the walker. I will add more in a few months.
Function and Assembly
Has 3 height levels and my baby could reach the floor by 5 months. Seat is machine washable (although I have not tested that yet). Collapses nicely for storage and travel. Assembly is pretty easy, and instructions seemed clear. Watch your fingers when you snap the bars to the base though; i smashed my thumb pretty good...
I bought this walker for my 4-month-old baby boy. No, I did not expect it to teach him how to walk. He simply wasn't content to be on the ground all the time (in between the times I was holding him). He was very curious (nosy!) and wanted to be "up" all the time. I bought this walker with the idea that it would allow him to see what's going on all around and keep him occupied for some time. It did exactly that.
It was obviously a little big at first (nothing some rolled up baby blankets couldn't fix!) but he LOVED it! It was definitely worth the 30 bucks or so that I paid for it.
It seemed to make him happier that he could see all that was going on around him. He played with the little attached toys quite a bit as well. They are pretty engaging with the spinning ball with little beads inside that make noise when he moved it. The small leaf/tree thing was perfect for attaching other toys with the plastic chains. From the very beginning he was able to spin the green happy face disc on the front bar.
I obviously did not buy this with the expectation that it would teach/help my son learn how to walk (I have this strange notion that that will come semi-naturally as he gets older and I help him). Because of new laws and regulations, I'm not sure that any walker could do that. The makers have to put the rubber pads on the bottom that give a lot of resistance when on carpet (in our small apartment we mostly have just carpet; except in the tiny kitchen and bathroom). The wheels, also, are not extremely easy to navigate with. Keep in mind, I am speaking from the perspective of watching my now 7-month old. An older child (9-12 months) would probably be a little more coordinated and strong.
As far as the smaller details of the walker: The colors were bright and cheery. They seemed to be exactly like the picture. The different heights have been very helpful as he's grown a bit since I first purchased it. The fact that it folds up has been great since I am frequently carting it to one grandmother's house or another!
Overall, I, and my son, greatly enjoyed this product! It did exactly what I wanted it to do and I couldn't be happier.
I would like to quickly (or not so quickly!) address two of the interesting (outrageous, crazy, who-thinks-of-these-things?!) concerns that I have read in some of the reviews and comments. 1. Walkers can damage the spine and hinder natural child development My son used this walker about every day for the last 3 months. He is now crawling around all over, rolling over both ways and pulling himself up on anything that is remotely within the reach of his little fingertips. Personally, I don't see any hindrance in his development and his doctor has assured me that his spine is just fine. 2. Walkers put babies at risk of reaching higher things such as stove burners and table tops The walker itself is maybe a foot and a half (two feet?) tall. It does not lift a baby any higher than if they were standing on their own. If this is such a great risk then we should never allow our children to stand, right? I think not. If anything, the base of the walker is so wide that it keeps the kid from coming even close enough to most things (especially stove burners!). I don't see how it is very probable that a kid would be pulling down a pot from the stove or reaching up to the table and yanking down that place setting while in the walker. 3. The walker is obviously a death trap and will easily cause any child within a 5-mile radius of a staircase to fall down Now, I realize that common sense is not exactly the "in" thing right now (have you read any of these reviews on here?!). However, why would you have your child in a walker, unattended, near a stair case...? I think that's enough said. Also, the previously-mentioned rubber pads on the bottom keep this walker from even clearing the half-inch drop from my dining room carpet to my linoleum kitchen floor. I think that would have to be one strong baby to get it going fast enough to clear a couple of stairs. Don't get me wrong, I know that accidents happen. But, please, when an accident happens, remember that it is just that: an accident. Not every little bump or bruise that your little one gets is a result of a faulty product.
I apologize for the long review (rant...). Kudos to you if you made it this far! Once again, I highly recommend this product. I hope you and your little one have a great time with it! I know my son and I certainly have.

The overall look of this walker is cute and appealing to a parent's eye, but it's severely lacking in functionality and practical design. The base is too wide and there is far too much space between the back of the seat and tray. Worst of all the back wheels are extremely difficult to move. These cut-outs are flimsy and quite small...The house is only about an inch high and the elephant is less than 1 1/2 inches long, including the trunk....They don't cost much but they aren't worth the money!

We're going to get this for our 18 month old as a Christmas present but I've been price shopping and Toys R Us (online and in stores) has this same thing for $69.00.Just a heads up.
However, the durablity of this product is poor as far as the electronic components are concerned. It just suddenly stopped working and replacing the batteries did not solve the issue. I will add that Fisher Price was willing to provide a new toy, but Ihad to pay to ship the entire kitchen back first. A new toy would arrive in 6-8 weeks! Are you kidding!! Who is going to take their child's favorite toy away for 2 months? I might add that we had the same issue with the Laugh and Learn House. It seems that Fisher Price has durability issues with their electonic components. For this reason I cannot recommend their products.

When we were shopping for a birthday present for our 1 year old granddaughter, we were surprised at how substantial today's toy kitchens have become. We chose the Grow With Me because of its convertibility small enough for her to use now, and expandable for when she's taller. I bought this kitchen for my 19 month old grandson.It was the only kitchen I saw that was rated for children under 2 or 3 and it was by far the least expensive. It has the expected Fisher-Price quality. He loves it!It's the first thing he heads for when he comes to my house. We bought this kitchen for my daughter's 1st birthday. It cost $70 at Toys 'R Us, so I was pretty surprised to see the price so high here. There are a lot of other bigger play kitchens out there, with more bells and whistles, but at the $70 price, this playfully colored kitchen is simple, but still great.My daughter loved this kitchen immediately. At its low setting (only one row of appliances available), it was the perfect height for her at age 1. It comes with enough accessories that you don't need to buy additional pieces unless you want to. Still, other people have given my daughter kitchen accessories as gifts (play food, a tea set, etc.), and those gifts did really enhance my daughter's play.
She is now 3 1/2 years old, and she still enjoys playing with this kitchen. It is now set up in the higher setting, as shown in the product photo (two rows of appliances available). This kitchen has been a staple in her play area over the last few years. It really encourages imaginative play; my daughter can spend over an hour playing with it independently. She'll pretend to do dishes, make dinner, set up a party, etc.
The only problem we had with it was the blender when it's positioned on its stand, and the button is pressed, I think it's supposed to turn so that playful berry characters are shown through "windows". For us, when you press the button, the little balls inside the blender bounce around, and it makes noise, but that's it. If we take the blender off the stand and turn a little knob underneath by hand, we can make these little berry characters appear through "windows". So, I think we got a broken blender, but you know, it never actually mattered at all, the blender is still fun to play with the way it is. Other than that, we did have an appliance door or two get pulled off just once or twice, but they snapped back on just fine, no biggie.
My 9-month-old son has already started poking around the kitchen, and I hope he enjoys it as much as my daughter has. While I try not to get caught up in gender roles, I am still happy that the mostly white-and-purple colors are gender neutral.
After seeing my daughter with this kitchen, two of my friends got the same kitchen for their daughters, and they have not been disappointed!
POOF-Slinky 0C818 Ideal Bible Trivia Game
This Bible Trivia Game is good for families.The concept and layout of the game are quite simple, and the questions range from very easy to rather challenging.My minor complaints about the game are twofold.First, the difficulty of the questions is fairly uneven, so that one player might be hit with a card full of simple questions, while the other might be hit with very difficult questions.Second, each of the answers is followed by a brief comment.Some of these are usefully informative, but many feel indoctrinating.
I have an 8 year old and a 15 year old, who get bored with that pretty fast. There should be bonus rounds, or gross or silly questions that the kids would like, or lightning rounds where the person, who can name the most apostles, commandments, tribes etc, gets to skip a level or knock everyone else back a space. Games with some risk like Trouble, Hi Ho Cherry-O, and chutes and Ladders are always in demand at our house, I wish this Bible Trivia game had some excitement to it.
The questions are uneven, and we joke that God has predestined my husband to win every time. He has the most Bible knowledge, yet everyone else gets questions like "Which king of Israel destroyed the house of Jeroboam," while my husband gets, "Who was Adams wife?"
There are two sets of cards with two levels of difficulty, which is good, and we have changed the game so that the person reading the card can pick which question to ask, based on the knowledge level of the person, and that helps.
All in all it is a good game to have around the house, as my husband and I sometimes quiz each other using just the cards (and not the board) for the fun of it.
Oh, one more thing, we have the Cadaco Bible Trivia, but our cards do not comment on the answers like another reviewer mentioned. Our cards just have the answer and the Bible reference such as in the above question, "Which king of Israel destroyed the house of Jeroboam," the answer merely says, "Baasja (1 Kings 15)"Our game is dated 1984.

I just purchased this for my daycare home and haven't tested it out for how child friendly it is yet, but during assembly we nearly poked the screws through the surface.The screws are too long considering the attachments have countersink screw holes.If you tighten the screws as tight as they are supposed to go you will go through the table and chair tops.The screws should be shortened or a washer added to the countersink to keep it from advancing through the top.I was pleased with the packaging (other than I wish it was earth friendly packaging), I was pleased with the ease of constructon, it was the perfect size for what I wanted, it has a nice color finish and if it holds up to the wear and tear of my preschool day care home, it is definately a product I would purchase again.

This play set is wonderful!It is easy to use and entertaining for preschool to early school age children.While kids are having fun playing, they are improving their fine motor skills and patterning.They can be creative with their own designs or learn to follow one of the included pattern cards.The set includes 3 bits for use with the drill or screwdriver handle and 5 different colored large screws.The drill has forward, off, and reverse settings and makes drill sounds at a reasonable volume.Overall a great buy.

I bought this toy for my 5-year-old.He has autism and loves tool type of toys.As soon as we opened this he got a HUGE grin on his face.Totally a hit with him!My 3-year-old daughter was DYING for a turn, and she loves to use it as well.Surprisingly, even my 19-month-old daughter can join in with her older siblings...she puts the pegs into the holes for them.
It's great for their fine motor skills...getting the drill bit in the right spot is a little tricky for small hands.There are also hand tools which are good practice for the little ones, too.I also use it to practice turn-taking with the 3 and 5 year olds...each gets to drill a certain number of pegs and then has to trade the drill with their sibling.
And it is FUN!My kids like just filling up the whole board, but I think after we've had it for awhile (it's only been 2 weeks) we can start using some of the patterns.Great idea to extend the life of the toy.
This toy seems really durable, has lots of play options (pattern or freestyle, different drill bits, power tool or hand tool), is educational AND fun.And rarely do I find a toy that all three of my kids can sit around at the same time and play with...but they do with this one!Highly recommended!
UPDATE 9/11:
We have had this toy for three years and it is STILL one of the most popular toys in our house.My kids are now 7, 6, and 4, and all will still play with this one.I do rotate it so they don't see it for a couple months and then when it comes back out they are all fighting over who gets it next.One thing I find interesting is that none of them have ever been interested in making the pictures...they just love to use the drill and get those pegs in!

We bought the design and drill activity center for my son's 3rd birthday.We also bought a Take-A-Part Airplane.The drills with the attachments can work on either toy, so we now have 2 drills for the design and drill center.Since we have 2 drills, we bring this out for playdates and it is always a hit. Boys and girls ages 2-6 have enjoyed it.I find that the kids like to drill in a lot more than they like to remove screws, so I end up having to remove them myself so that the toy gets played with, but that's a small price to pay for the 20 minutes or so of concentration this provides.
So far, no one has wanted to replicate the pictures they just make up their own patterns.

Despite being in my 30's I still sleep with a teddy bear.My nightly standard is as old as I am and I do not want to travel with her, due to her sentimental value.I purchased Matisse as my weekend travel bear and I have been satisfied with him.He is soft and smooshy, without any hard spots.My only complaint is that the stitching on his nose could be better.It was made with a series of vertical stitches and many have spread apart after about 20 nights.
He would be great for children or adults.
Green Toys Tea Set
I have been on a mission to find the best tea set for my daughter. Well, this it! Fantastic quality, it is made from recycled milk jugs, the plastic is nice and thick. A bonus is that it meets FDA regulations so you can actually drink from the set without worrying about absorbing some crazy chemicals. The lids on the teapot and sugar jar are great because they are interchangeable, they stay on when you pour the tea, and yet they are easy for little hands to take off and put on. The packaging is also nice, it is three pieces of recycled cardboard, and one rubber band holding the spoons together. So easy to open! No tape or twist ties! And we can recycle the cardboard, and the rubber band is biodegradable. Wonderful! Oh, and the best part? MADE IN THE USA!!! My daughter absolutly loves this tea set, and has been playing with it like crazy. WAAAYY better than the annoying musical tea set out there, she didn't even want to play with that one.
We just received this tea set yesterday.I am thrilled with it for many reasons.The product is extremely sturdy, the package was so easy to open and recyclable and it is made here in the USA.Except for sleep, my daughter has not stopped playing with it.I will be recommending this to all my friends with children.This is a great toy, and the packaging is wonderful!It is a rare toy these days that can actually be taken out of the package by the child who receives it!

This tea set is the best I've ever seen. It's made from recycled materials in the USA and is even okay'd by the FDA as safe even to eat off of! That's amazing. The style is very adorable, and the lids are even interchangeable. My daughter fell in love with this set right away.
BEST PART: This set came in a 100% recycleable box with no wires holding things together!!! The only other packaging with a rubber band holding the spoons together.

I purchased this set for my daughter for Christmas.I like that it's recycled and safe.I like the size of the cups, this is a 'child' sized set, not a 'doll' or 'toy' sized set, meaning that the cups are a good size for a child to actually use.Therein lies the problem.Children want to actually USE a tea set.Not just pretend to pour tea or water but fill the teapot with an actual fluid and pour it out.The teapot has two problems.One, the spout opening is level with the opening on the top of the pot where the lid rests, this means if a small child who is still learning motor skills tips the pot farther to speed up pouring it ends up dumping water out of the top of the pot making a mess.The BIG problem with this set is that the teapot LEAKS.
There have been other complaints about this.People have said they've contacted the company and were promised a non leaking teapot.Well, I got the set.I gave it to my daughter for Christmas and I had water all over the place.I thought it was from her being careless or messy.I watched her and found that no matter how careful she was being, water was leaking all over as she poured. I had to take it from her to save my floors.Talk about an upset child.
I emailed the company Christmas night.I did get a reply two days later saying that they are aware of the problem (but apparently still sell the defective sets!) and had "made efforts to stop this problem." They offered to send a replacement (non-leaking, I assumed) teapot "Monday when I'm back in the office."I replied that I did want a replacement.
That was December 28th.I JUST received the replacement teapot (sans lid) on January 31 one MONTH after I was told it would be sent!It arrived POSTAGE DUE!Guess what?It leaks just as bad as the old one.DON'T buy this product if you actually want your children to be able to play with and enjoy it without getting water (or tea) all over everything!I did tell Green Toys that I would be waiting on their reply and the replacement before leaving feedback on Amazon.
