Over priced windup toy. Quality is OK, but not for price. It's plastic and a windup. It should be about about $1.00-$1.50. NO MORE. Thankfully I did not have to pay for shipping. Not worth returning. I hope this will help anyone else interested. Think twice before you buy

These little wind up robots look good but if you want a specific one don't count on it as whom ever ships it will be a random one you get so be aware.I also have found these at other various stores around town and picking the ones you want is the better choice, but for convenience buying through Amazon is after all another choice.

as for play ability they hold up pretty good but do tend to fall off the tables some what so the title is a Mis-no-meaner at best.

As for price it's seems a bit much for such a small wind up and I recommend that only if a child is really interested in these should a purchase be made.

Also be aware NOT to over-wind the toy as it will ruin the wind up function.

DHS Professional Quick-attack 4 Star L Series/L402 Table Tennis Racket-shakehand

I am just a recreational player who enjoys a daily game of play ping pong at work.A colleague recently purchased a new racket and their game improved tremendously so I decided to take the plunge and settled on the DHS L 402.This is a great racket that is superior to the Stiga Supreme purchased by my colleague.The spin and power are incredible.

The loss of a star is due to my only complaint which is the horrible smell of the racket, primarily the handle.Not sure if it is the stain used or what but it smells horrible and if it does not fade quickly I will most likely look for a new racket.

This is a pretty nice paddle as far as playing a game is concerned.

Pros:

1. You can control the ball well, put some spin on it.

2. It comes with one good quality white colored ball, and that is good.

3. The case is pretty nice.It does look like it contains a paddle which works good for me :)

Cons:

There is one BIG issue: The handle smells like rotten fish.I don't know why they couldn't make it smell neutral and it is not even the rubber on the paddle, just the handle.After you play with this paddle for a few minutes, your hands smell like rotten fish as well.

We purchased a pair of these rackets.The weight is awesome, the handles are longer than some other rackets we have and the rubber is super sticky lots of spin!The 1 complaint is that these things STINK!!Whatever processing is used to create these rackets leaves a distinct & strong odor that takes weeks to dissipate.The case is average.Overall a good product.Just wish they didn't stink so bad.

Sukoku is absolutely fun and addicting especially in color.This is a great idea but I had to actually paint over some of the colors to make them more distinguishable.Some of the colors were just too close in similarity and that made it difficult to play.For instance the red and orange were very close (I mean very) and so are the dark blue and dark green.Perhaps my vision isn't as great as everyone else's LOL!!Anyhow, I quickly remedied the problem by painting the orange and dark blue balls!Other than that I just love it :-)

Kids Only Disney's Minnie Mouse Bowtique Activity Table Set

I just received this table and chair set, which I will give my granddaughter for Christmas.It is amazingly sturdy and I think she will love it.My only concern is that the vinyl top may not stand up to little kid activities such as drawing and other arts and crafts.The fact that it is padded makes me think it might be easily punctured.Time will tell.Also, why is it listed for three different prices on Amazon?I paid about $40.00, but I also saw it listed for $56.00 and $64.00.

I bought this for my 23 month old granddaughter at a local discount store for $30; and the every day price at Walmart is $29. This table set is perfect for my granddaughter. In fact this is the second table set I bought by this manufacturer; the other one is Dora the Explorer. I keep that one downstairs in my house and this one upstairs. Here is why I like it.

1. This is very colorful. The picture on Amazon does not do it justice. And my granddaughter absolutely loves Minnie and has a Minnie Mouse doll.

2. The table is very easy to open and close, and so are the chairs, which come with a "safety screw" so that it is impossible for them to close once opened. I installed it because my granddaughter is very curious, and her little fingers would get hurt if she accidentally closed the chair on them. However, if you want to be able to fold the chairs for storage, you can skip the safety screw. The chairs will work fine without it.

3. The chairs are very easy for my granddaughter to get in and out of. They are each about 20.5" high and the seat is about 10.5" x 11.25". The table is 2' x 2' and 19.5" high. It is more than adequate for her to play on.

4. Both the table and chairs are durable and well made. Although the directions say that a chair can support a maximum of 100lbs, I routinely sit on a chair and weigh 160lbs. Even though the chair is way too small for me, surprisingly it is not uncomfortable for me to sit on it for extended periods when I am playing with my granddaughter.

5. Both the chair pads and table top are plastic coated, so you can easily clean them.

Bottom line: There are a lot fancier (and more expensive) table sets, but this one works just fine, is the right price (depending where you buy it), and most important my granddaughter absolutely loves to play on it and see Minnie on the table top and chair backs.

Shop for price. The current price on Amazon is more than double what this should cost.

This set is very high quality, and I love the plastic coating on the table and chairs for easy clean up. I also love the safety feature that prevents the chairs from folding on the baby! HANDWRITING SLANT BOARD

I ordered a slant board back in October and still have not received (1/26/10) after e-mails saying it had been shipped, processed, etc. and several attempts on my part to contact the company.I give up and cannot say how the product rates, but would not recommend this company!

I can't speak to the customer service of this seller because we got our board from my daughter's OT. What I can tell you is that this slant board is FANTASTIC!

Developmentally it is a natural progression for kids to begin writing, painting, drawing, etc. upright like on an easel or chalkboard. Over time they progress to a flat surface and you don't even think twice about it. However, with a lot of kids who have developmental delays or other special needs this is not a natural progression. A slant board is a great way to improve their visual field which makes everything easier to see and in turn easier to do.

Our daughter has sensory processing issues which include fine motor challenges and vision convergence problems. Before we started using the slant board her ability to write and the quality of her work suffered tremendously. Homework time became an exercise in futility. We were frustrated, she was frustrated, it was just a lose-lose situation for all of us. Now, her school provides a slant board for her there and then we use one at home. The results are like night and day.

This board is especially great because being see-through it doesn't cause any distraction due to the color or texture differing from that of the table. It also avoids problems with depth-perception.

Anyway, it's a great board. Great for home, school and therapy. Get one!

Product was packaged well with styrofoam peanuts and styrofoam corners.Had a large jagged crack at the bottom.I contacted customer service through amazon on a Friday afternoon and on Monday morning was contacted by the seller and was told to keep and discard the slant board and they would issue a full refund.I was very pleased with their prompt customer service on this matter. This was the beginning of February.I have still yet to receive the refund to my credit card.I have again contacted customer service, directly through the company, about the refund.Obviously, I am not so happy that it has taken this long for a refund.I hope that this matter will be satisfactorily resolved soon.I will update my review as soon as the refund comes through.

The product itself would be very useful for an adult.We bought it for a 4 year old with fine motor issues, and I think it is a little too high off the table for his little arms to reach comfortably.This is because of the storage space underneath the board.So the bottom of the board is not flush with the table, it stands about 2 inches from the table top.

Also, at the bottom of the board, where the bottom and top pieces connect, (it looks like a pencil rest in the pictures) it is quite thick and uncomfortable for you forearm to rest on when writing.Again, probably not much of an issue for most adults, but my little one with sensory issues would never be able to tolerate this.

It is a good size, clip seems sturdy.Definitely not easily portable.There is a piece at the back that looks like it needs a lock or something to go through it, otherwise when you lift up the front to access the storage underneath, the entire device comes apart.Nothing provided to put through this hole to keep both top and bottom pieces securely together. They molded this to fit a small lock, I don't know why it didn't come with one.

So, bottom line.This product would not suite my child's needs, just based on size.I think the product, in general, is decent and will serve it's purpose for others.I also don't know why this product is labeled as a toy.Hard to give stars when asked how fun it is?How educational?It's not a toy but a therapeutic writing device.It's not supposed to be fun!lolSo I'm giving it a higher educational value, though not educational, for adults it will give a therapeutic value.

This slant board is solid and sturdy. It would clearly withstand a lot of use and would not move even if the child or adult writing put a lot of pressure on it. We decided that it was too large and heavy to carry in a book bag and even heavy for a child to move about the room, so we have returned it. Sensory University provided an excellent customer service experience with the return. They responded promptly and with a personalized message aimed at helping us find the right accessories for carrying the board if we so desired. This was not the slant board for us, but I highly recommend the vendor.

Rummikub

There is no other table-top game that consumes more of my time than Rummikub. I find it very addicting.

However, your experience may vary depending on the version. I had the version with "easy-grip contour" pieces. After a lot of play, the paint has chipped away to the point that many pieces are unreadable causing me to need to buy a new set. This is not a problem with the editions with engraved pieces.

BUYER BEWARE: I ordered this set from Amazon because it said that it had engraved pieces. The version I received though did not. If you look at all of the pictures for this product, you can see that many different versions are represented. I assure you, they are not all created equal.

This game is deceptively simple.You start with 14 tiles, and your goal is to meld all your tiles in groups of at least three, either three of a kind (3 fives, for example) or in a run (4, 5, and 6).Just like the card game rummy, right?The twist comes when you start rearranging tiles.As long as you leave at least three tiles together, you can do whatever you want with the tiles already laid down by any person playing the game.Before too long, strategy becomes hard because the person before you is sure to rearrange the tiles you needed in such a way that they are no longer available.Then again, they may lay down the one piece that you needed to win.

I've been playing this game with my family for years.It's a blast because it's so completely different every time, and everyone has a chance to win.You might need to help small kids when they first learn how to play, but soon, they will be able to play and hold their own against adults.

I highly recommend this fun game.It'll give you hours of entertainment with family and friends.

This is a great game.My parents introduced me to this game and now our entire family is hooked.Though luck does play a small part, it is mostly strategy.It is relatively easy to learn and very addictive once you get a hang of it.The best part is, it doesn't get boring and evolves as you become a better player.

This particular version however is not one I would recommend.If you plan on playing it a lot I would suggest spending a few dollars more and buying the deluxe version.I bought this one for my grandparents and they have a hard time identifying the colors, which is a very important aspect of the game.The holders for the bones are also inexpensively made and collapse if you are not very careful.

Good buy for adult players, not so good for younger or older players.

My title for this review just about says everything I can say. The price is great on the Bachmann Trains Thomas with Annie and Clarabel ready to run train set because I could not have purchased it as a gift for my grandson anywhere else for less. The delivery was on time as promised. I have been in model railroading for over 50 years, and when Bachmann first came out with model trains the quality was poor. I started with Lionel O27, then switched to HO, and I now model in N scale. I have some older Bachmann N scale models and my son has some that are newer. They have come a long way in improving their quality since when I purchased some of their N scale products. I think this would be a good starter set for most any youngster 5 years and up. I highly recommend this item, especially if your child is crazy over Thomas. The set is small, only a 36 inch circle of track, but can easily be expanded by purchasing additional track and accessories either through Amazon or your local hobby shop.

My son and I have had a good time playing with this set.He is almost two years old and can use the speed controller with ease.We absolutely love this set. Bought this as a gift for our teen who really likes science.We'd rate the puzzle difficulty as medium and graphics as 9 out of 10 (no images for some elements, but that's probably more factual than lack of creativity).Puzzle is liked so much that it's now mounted on her bedroom wall!

This is a great puzzle for getting a complete picture of the periodic table with a great little key to understanding all the symbols and numbers for each element.In order to put the puzzle together, it is almost necessary to pay attention to the small details of each element and thus encourages the builder to learn more about them.

The biggest weakness is the construction of the actual pieces. There are two problems. The first is that the pieces easily come apart. For example, if two pieces are stuck together and you are not very, very careful in taking them apart, you can tear little layers of the pieces apart. The second problem is that many pieces appear to go where they don't actually fit (this can be a help in learning the elements when those pieces actually have information on them you can use to realize you've made a mistake), but other pieces do not and you find yourself going back and taking apart whole sections to unearth one of those pieces that was mistakenly placed.

Daughter got me this train and I am now living my third childhood (64 yo). It is easy to put up and at some time in the distant future (unless wife gets tired of playing with it when I am on the computer, and puts it away). MEGA Bloks Fill & Dump Wagon

I purchased this about 3 years ago for the grandkids when they came to visit. Its now being played with by grandkids # 4 thru 6 and everyone of them have spent hours with this toy. Its durable--not even a scratch on it and even though a few of the blocks have been lost we just buy another set. It seems to interest kids of all ages although with the younger ones you have to make sure the blocks don't go in the mouth. I don't think I've bought another toy that entertains such a large age span and holds up so well. If you want something that will last a long time this is the toy to get--well worth the money you spend.

These blocks are the perfect size for my littler builder who immediately made his first masterpiece moments after opening the wagon.... my only wish is that there were more blocks.

He also appreciates having a "handy storage" place for his toys... the little guy is fastidious... (yes, I am blessed!)We play "build" and then "throw the blocks into the basket".... so the wagon can double for lots of things.

The handle did fall off though it was easily reattached.I don't think its meant for "heavy duty" play.

I bought this toy for my 13-month old son.He loves playing with the blocks, and it's very durable.However, he also loves climbing into the wagon.It wasn't designed for toddlers to sit inside the wagon, but it's just the right size.The wagon has a way of tipping backward suddenly, and is especially dangerous if someone pulls it while a child is sitting inside.There is a tiny picture on the wagon showing that children are not meant to sit inside.I think that's a bit ridiculous.What child can resist climbing inside a wagon that is the perfect size?So, I'd have to say that I cannot recommend this wagon, only because children are very tempted to use it in ways it was not designed.

We have four kids. And we bought it for our youngest when he turned 2 (now 7) to this day all four kids play with them (ages 12-11-9-7). I have to admit that we had to go out and buy 3 bags extra of the blocks. Not because they got lost or broke but because the kids needed more for their imagination creations. They are easy to find and put away. They are big enough that when you make something the kids can then play with it. We haven't used the wagon for years and now have 2 totes full of the blocks. Any blocks you buy your kids should be big like these. I think that is why they continue to play with them. We have bought some for our neices and nephews who always go straight for the totes when they come here. And once again I am here to get another for my nieces 1 yr birthday present. This is MONEY WELL SPENT...

The product dimensions were written as 11x11x20.I received something more like 4x5x10.I see another customer had the same problem, and I too wanted to include this as a Christmas present.The way it is set up Amazon cannot set up an exchange for the correct product because this is a 3rd party seller.If I re-order from these people I run the risk of getting the wrong item again.

The bear pictured is 13" Philbin, not 20" Dilip and that's what I received. Amazon was great though and sent me a refund for the difference between this bear and the 13" Philbin ($3-ish). And it turns out that Philbin is much cuter than Dilip, so I ended up keeping this one and ordering the larger 18" Philbin for the gift. Great bears, Gund knows what they're doing.

The Thomas train and train collections are durable toys. Their real value, though, is that playing with the toys allows children to act out the great Thomas and Friends children's stories they read and watch.

This is a nice layout that provides far more track than the usual figure 8 layout that gets purchased first. But it is very expensive. There is generic track available that costs far less. Our kids haven't noticed the difference. IT IS EASY TO CREATE ELEVATED TRACK AND BRIDGES USING LEGO OR DUPLO PIECES AS SUPPORTS.GENERIC CRANES ARE AVAILABLE FOR MUCH LESS.

Kids' imaginations can remarkably supply buildings and water towers and cranes, etc., so that they won't even miss what might be lacking from less expensive sets. And families can build some of these items themselves out of old boxes, etc.

Purchasing recommendation:

* Choose which type of Thomas trains you will 'standardize' on. There are three kinds: This size of wooden trains from Learning Curve; larger, plastic, battery-operated trains from Tomy; and smaller, die-cast metal trains from Ertl. The wooden trains have the most products and accessories available.

* The clickety-clack (grooved to look like real railroad) track in the Thomas series is great, but it's expensive; I recommend buying generic track. ... You can literally save hundreds of dollars by buying these kinds of sets.

* Buy the Thomas and friends engines separately--and wait for sales. The kids care about the characters, so no short-cutting (ie., Brio or generic trains) here.

* Look for trains bundled with VHS videos. You can get a video and a train (on sale) for about the same price as a train alone.

Santa brought this set for my 3 year old son last Christmas and he has played with it everyday since. With daily use, this wooden set is holding up to his rough play. His favorite piece is Cranky the Crane. It's easy to add onto as we have added the hospital and another bridge. We purchased a Nilo table to put the train on so it will stay together. Well worth the money!

This product was perfect and the price was a minimum $30 $40 cheaper than in local stores (Yes, even after shipping!!).I do want to note that if your child already has a set then trying to intermix them will test your engineering degree or patience.The only thing stopping all five stars is that the elevated track corners routinely pop apart with 3-4 year old play.I also recommend that a play table be purchased and used.My child's table and set was a hit with the party guest (even the adults).I found it really was a positive builder for sharing / interactive playtime.

My 3-yr. old grandson loves everything "Thomas"...knows the names of all the engines, etc. He has the other 2 types of Thomas railways at his house so I decided to go with the wooden ones for "Grammy's House".A big hit on Christmas morning and everytime he comes over.This set is especially nice because it includes other characters like "cranky the crane".It was easy to set up....I have only one tiny complaint.I do not have a train table so it's set up on a board on the floor.The plastic play mat slips around and doesn't want to lie flat yet.It would be so much better if the company would put it on a monopoly type board that folds and could open up instead of the plastic mat.It would "stay-put" and be much more functional.

LEGO 7739 City Coast Guard Patrol Boat and Tower

This is a really fun LEGO toy. We gave this to our grandson for his 6th birthday.He has wanted this for over a year now and had been saving his own money to buy this toy.He was thrilled when this given this gift and got up at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning to begin putting the boat together.He has always been dexterous from the time he was buckling the plastic buckle on his high chair, so putting LEGOs together is fun for him.The toy is created nicely with many details.There is a mini "hospital" to treat people who are rescued from the Coast Guard Boat.There is a raft to go out to sea to rescue them.There is also a dock and tower that are built separately.The toy includes many items that would actually be on a rescue boat.The new LEGOS are very imaginative and some of the items are quite small.The current LEGO toys show detailed instructions in pictures step-by-step, as opposed to the LEGOS of 30+ years ago.I did not get a chance to play with the toy myself, but Grandma Barbie and Poppie really enjoyed the BIG SMILES as our grandson enjoyed this toy.It encourages imagination as well.

My Grandson received this for his birthday and had it assembled before bedtime and absolutely loves it.He has taken over the dining room table with his Legos and plays with them before school and as soon as he finishes his homework.It was a great investment on our part just for the educational value.He takes it apart and rebuilds it in different configurations using his other Legos and you never know what it will look like when he's finished.Thanks, and if the prices could be a little lower, we would be buying more of them.
