iPlay Sights and Sounds Splash Table

I bought this for my son who is 19 months old. He LOVES playing in the water and so I thought he would enjoy this for many, many hours. While he does have fun with it, he likes spending most of the time taking the pieces off. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, except that when the lighthouse comes off and water gets into the base, the music plays OVER and OVER and OVER kind of a problem for a toy that is supposed to have water in it. Also there is NO on/off button for the music which is annoying not only when water gets into the base of the lighthouse, but when we are trying to empty the water out and put it away.

Great idea for a toy, but I wouldn't recommend it until they come out with a new and improved version.

My son is a huge fan of the magnetic crane on this water table.I love the octopus fountain.The major problem is that the lights and sounds began malfunctioning within a couple of days of opening it.Sometimes sounds don't work.Sometimes lights don't work.Sometimes sounds go off without being triggered.Why would you make a water table with electronic parts that malfunction when it comes in contact with... WATER?!?!Did I mention there's no "off" button?

My son is almost 2 y/o and this looked like an amazing toy he could spend lots of time playing with. Unfortunately, now I wish I had bought something simpler with less small parts. The various pieces on it (the tree, lighthouse, crane etc) come off very easily. He spends most of his time taking it apart rather than playing with it. Perhaps he will like it more as he gets older, but I think it would be better if the fixtures on it were firmly attached. Very cute idea though.

My mother bought this table for my daughter's first birthday.We were so excited that we even invited over her best baby friend (14 months) to have a 4th of July Splash Table Party.We were so dissappointed when the octopus did not work at all.The sounds were barely audible too.We decided to put new batteries in, thinking that maybe the batteries we purchased were duds.Sadly, it was the toy that was a dud!Fortunately, the girls had fun with the water, even without all the bells an whistles.But then again, they had just as much fun when I filled our big salad bowl with water and floated a few toys in there.

Needless to say, I exchanged the table for another one.I hesitated when they asked me if I wanted to exchange it or get store credit I should have just listened to my gut and gotten the credit, but I went ahead and got a new one (my daughter loves water more than any other kid I have ever known!).

Surprise, surprise...The octopus doesn't work!Well, it does squirt out a tiny tiny bit of water for about a half a second, but only about a half inch high (nothing at all like the picture on the box).

I am so sad to see such a horribly manufactured toy on the market and for so much money no less!Play in the bathtub, outside in a sprinkler, or even with a salad bowl full of water, but just please don't waste your money on this, it will be such a let down for everyone.

My now 14-month-old received this for his first birthday.He loves it, but spends most of his time taking it apart.The problem is that the toys included on the table are not fastened on, and my son loves to take them off and throw them.The palm tree comes apart and comes off of the table, the little man comes off of the crane and the crane comes off of the table, and the lighthouse comes off.He's even recently figured out how to pull the store/station building off.That being said, he really enjoys playing with it, just not for its intended use.In fact, he is not nearly as interested in the toy when we put water in it.He also enjoys pushing the table around the house.If you don't mind hunting down the parts to this after your child throws them around, the table should provide lots of entertainment, just not for the purpose for which it was designed.

I was shopping for a friend when I found this toy. She likes penguins so I looked around to see what Amazon had to offer. The first arrived the set of the fine pink china, we were delighted. Totally worth the price and many times over.

We like classy stuff and that was very classy. It came with gorgeous box to keep it in so it is dleightflul.

Now, the cookies and cupcakes were not coming.. we got worried checking the door steps.

Finally we checked mailbox for boxes andnothing..

This was the prettiest porcelain tea set I have ever seen. Pictures don't do it justice and it comes packaged in a neet little box. My 6-year-old daughter loved it. She has had non-stop tea parties for her American girl dolls since she got the tea set. It is rather delicate though, so I wouldn't recommend it for ages 4 & under, unless you have plenty of Crazy Glue around. I think it was priced appropriately for the quality, which is excellent. I also highly recommend this seller. I ordered the tea set, along with an adorable table and chairs, and it arrived within 4 days over the holidays.

Bachmann Trains Santa Fe Flyer Ready-to-Run HO Scale Train Set

The main reason for buying the Santa Fe Flyer train set was to get a christmas present for my "old man", who loves trains with the Santa Fe logo on it. To make him happy I decided to get a locomotive as well as a freight car with the Santa Fe logo on it and place both on a track in a nice display box.

Coincidentally, as I browsed through the toys section of my local supermarket, I ran into the Santa Fe Flyer train set from Bachmann. It comes with the needed Santa Fe locomotive as well as three freight cars. So instead of spending around 60 US$ (MSRP according to Bachmann's website) for the locomotive itself, I got away with only a portion of it.

Needless to say I had to try out the train set, even though the locomotive will be a display item only. After reading the posted reviews on Amazon I was frightened to do so, but got pleasantly surprised. The set comes with an easy to read, step by step manual. Putting together the so called E-Z track system was actually easy, even though it takes some patience to do so (it gets you a 36" circle). It also takes a little bit to get the locomotive and the freight cars onto the rails, but this is a very detailed toy in a small scale and not a Tonka truck. Power comes via the included speed controller, which is connected to the rails via plug-in wire (cannot be mixed up). The locomotive runs very smoothly, even at a slow speed. The knuckle couplers make adding cars to the locomotive/train an easy task. All in all, this set comes with all you need to get started and the items are of a very good quality.

On the package it recommends an age of 8 years or older. This is o.k. if your kid is patient enough to deal with something detailed and delicate like this. Otherwise you might have to help a little bit.

Considering the price of it (I paid only 30 US$), the set is a great deal. Especially if you want to find out if your kid is into model railroad as a hobby. And if not, use the set for yourself, buy additional equipment and turn your attic into a big HO scale train scene. ;-)

I ordered the H0 Santa Fe Flyer Train Set from Creative Toys & Hobbies. I had a large collection of H0 engines and cars as a child. The tracks they have now are much more durable and adaptable. I was suprised that nothing was loose in the package. Everything came in great condition, and earlier than expected. No complaints.

For those of you considering ordering this for a child under the age of 10, keep in mind they should be supervised. H0 trains run on an electrical current. While durable, they are not intended to take a beating from children.

I purchased this train for my 4 year old despite the bad reviews.The reason why I purchased it was because I knew what I was getting.A good quality train set would cost 3 to 4 times the amount I paid for this train set.Also this train has a recommended age for an older child so I knew I would need to closely supervise my son.Setting up the train was a pain but once we got the train going it was fine.Just to note the engine is very sturdy and the wheels are made out of metal but the rest of the trains, the hopper, gondola and caboose is made out of plastic.I feel this is a good starter set and I can slowly replace the rest of the train cars with higher quality cars.I also appreciate that I can plug in this set instead of constantly replacing the battery.

My husband and I bought this trainset for his Grandmother who has always wanted a "real" trainsset. She is obviously not a fanatic who needs state of the art stuff, just got happy seeing it going round and round, and this train was perfect. The track was easy to put together for me, with good eye-sight and patience, but it was still a bit tricky. The only time it de-railed was when the rail was on the floor and I was walking around making the floor move a little.

We had borrowed a Senet game exactly like this one a few years ago. Our kids loved it. I had not been able to find one anywhere until this Christmas. We have played it a lot. Our kids are 11, 8, 6, and 2. All of us, except for the 2-yo, play it. My husband and I both enjoy playing Senet with the kids. It is really a fun two-player game. Butterfly Trebuchet Shakehand Racket

I had my first Trebuchet for about 7 months before it wore out. I played a ton of games with it and loved it from the first time I used it. I tend to play using a lot of undercut shots and variable spins. This paddle is perfect for that and a jack of all trades as well. It has a great amount of grip that lasts for a long time. The handle is comfy and has a good 'feel'. The overall paddle is well constructed and can take a lot of abuse. The weight is just perfect in that it allows you to swing harder or put a lot of spin on the ball without it flying off to much like some of the more high-end performance paddle. The means that you can more easily place shots and have greater control of the ball. After my original wore out I tried buying a mid-level Killer Spin paddle but, it didn't have the same grip(it was a cheaper model too, Killerspin 110-03 Jet 300 Table Tennis Racket). The Trebuchet is the only paddle I'd ever buy even if I was to spend twice as much.

I have a friend that plays with a $100 DHS paddle. He offered to sell an extra to me for the same amount as the Trebuchet but I wasn't interested. Once you get used to the particular feel of a paddle, it's difficult to adjust. The Trebuchet is much swifter than the DHS models which tend to be bigger and heavier.

This is a great paddle, the second one of its kind that I've bought. The first one was destroyed in a firey rage of beer drinking ping pong gaming. Sticky, powerful, awesome.

I recently got back into playing after being away for 40 years.I purchased a killerspin racquet but wasn't sure if it was all the rust from being away or the racquet that was keeping my game from returning to what I remembered it to be.Then I had a coach change the rubbers on my racquet to pips on both sides.Still wasn't able to reliably hit top spin front and back hands.Then I purchased this Trebuchet racquet and night and day!I suspect that a player's game is the real determinate of how well a particular racquet will perform but for my game this racquet is perfect.

Little Tikes Sand and Water Fun Factory

I bought this for my 2 year old to play with....the "gears" that are supposed to move when sand or water go through them do not work, so I am trying to figure out what the point is for those. The basins are not deep at all and the legs keep falling off. Save the money and don't buy this product!

This is not well made.The legs are supposed to "snap" into place, but they don't... meaning the thing is just unstable... they can pop out.There is a ramp on the right hand side, but no screw hole for the screw.Nice idea, but poor execution.

My daughter received this as a gift from her grandparents. What's wrong with this toy? Well... everything. First of all the basins are too shallow and only about a half gallon of liquid or about 3 pounds of sand. My daughter loved playing with the toy and immediately the sand and water mixed together. This is a problem because there is only a very small drain on the left hand basin. To drain the water you pop open the drain from the bottom. Upon draining the drain gets clogged with sand and is very slow. Took about 20 minutes for the left side basin to drain into a bucket. But wait... the right side still has water in it, how do I get that out? And don't forget the sand that's still in there.

Also with the sand and water mixed together and no way to properly drain the unit you can only use the sand and water once. Keep in mind that this is untreated water with sand (a compound with a lot of organic material present) mixed in. If you close the lids (like the manufacturer suggests) two days later it's a septic tank of bacteria and bugs that have found a new home your $ rip off of a sand table.

And you think that's it? There is so much more. It is very top heavy. I tried to move it to another location with that sand/water in there and one of the cheap plastic legs will broke off in the process spilling the contents everywhere (trust me, this will happen). When I took a look at the leg where it attached to the main unit there was a disgusting bacterial sludge that had developed.

Wait until it rains. The main unit gets filled with water that I could not get out. I ended up drilling six drainage holes that should have been there to begin with.

To summarize the next part:

The umbrella doesn't fit into the hole properly and would be pretty much would be useless even if it did fit into the hole.

The included toys are junk not very good and don't work the way they are suppose to.

Gets gross in the back yard and is really not a very visually pleasing toy.

A good idea that was very poorly executed from one of the most reputable toy manufacturers.

Absolutely do not buy under any circumstances.

My boys 2&4 were given this as a bday present from my sister.It falls down with each rain or wind.The legs do not stay on.The gears and water toys that it came with do not work.It constantly falls down with the slightest bump so if you have more than one child playing at a time it is sure to keep falling down.The umbrella works nicely.The basins are not deep so it is constantly a murky mess of sand and water combined.The blue spinner does not work properly either. Melissa & Doug Wooden Take Along Tool Kit (24pc)

I bought this for my 2 year old Bob the Builder fan. It is difficult to use the toolbox to hammer into, but if you turn it on it's side your builder can hammer all day long. It's a little tight at first, but after you hammer a couple of nails and pull them out it gets easier. I like this toolbox because its a little more difficult for little hands. My son has to really think about hitting the nails and turning the wrench and screwdriver, but he can do it. This set looks real and my son loves that. If he sees his daddy using tools he will go get his tools so he can help. Some kids might get frustrated with it, but I think that it's teaching fine motor skills.

Besides being one of my son's favorite toys, I feel great about him playing with it all the time because he is building on his fine motor skills.Also, it is adorable to watch him follow his father around the house when his father fixes things.Cleap up is made easy by the tool box that comes with it and this toy is holding up unbelivablly well considering how quickly my son's toys normally break!

Don't bother to buy this, if you think of providing your kid(s) with an extended wooden construction kit by adding pieces from various "Melissa & Doug" wooden construction sets together, as the various sets are INCOMPATIBLE (screw threads and lengths, plate thickness, etc). A true disappointment. The whole series is poorly conceived, with no thought given to compatibility between and therefore expansion of sets. Worse yet, quality is poor: threads on screws tend to chip or erode very easily during use, leaving saw dust all over the play area. The number of pieces is too limited to allow for more than the construction of two or three toys, and one must disassemble an existing construction before building a new one.

I bought this for my grandson when he was about 2 1/2.I has been a total disappointment, even at age 3.

Nails & hammer:At first, he really enjoyed hammering in the 2 nails into the holes in the side of the toolbox. But an strong adult needs to pull the nails out.I can't do it. He really hammers hard!

Hammering the nails is the only part of the toy that he liked, but he lost interest.Even at 3 yr. I can't get him to play with it.

Screws, washers, screwdriver & wrench:

The holes in the side of the toolbox are TOO BIG for the screws.The 6 screws are over 2" long and there are washers that can be screwed on.However, it is so much easier to use your fingers to fasten the washers, so the screwdriver isn't needed. And it is useless to try to use the wrench to unfasten them.

*** A toddler cannot use the screwdriver while holding the washer in place all by himself. He doesn't have enough hands.

I called Melissa & Doug, thinking I wasn't teaching him how to use the toy correctly.The rep. said we should connect the brackets with the screws to make interesting designs or I'm not sure what.But I did try to show him.No Fun!

Prince PT9 Advantage Outdoor Table Tennis Table

I received this table last night and assembled it, with the help of my sons, in about 10 minutes. (Assembly consisted of bolting on the 4 wheel assemblies). Within 15 minutes, my sons were playing each other.

The other review I saw on this site commented about the weight, and they are quite correct. The box is very heavy (around 250 pounds) and really requires two or more people to open it and and put it together. Once that is done, however, things get much easier. The table consists of two separate pieces, each of which has its own set of wheels. You can lift up on the side with the fixed legs and move each side like a wheelbarrow. The makes the table much less cumbersome to move around. The pieces line up nicely when put together, and the net that comes with the table clamps on to both sides, which may keep them from sliding apart (the clamp is spring loaded so it doesn't create a solid attachment). So far, we haven't seen any problem with the two halves shifting.

I was very impressed with the construction of the table. The legs and braces are all quite thick (steel, I imagine) and the wheel assemblies are so solid that I cannot imagine that they will ever become deformed, regardless of what weight is put on the table. Each table surface is braced with crossed steel bars underneath. My guess is that these serve to reduce the tendendency to warp on a table placed outside.

We are located in Florida, and our table is on our covered patio (lanai). I choose an outdoor table because I feared what the humidity would do to any wood product that was not intended for outdoor use, even though the roof should prevent rain from falling on it directly.

On another site (Walmart.com) they sell the same model and one of the customers commented that the table was not perfectly level. It seems perfectly level to me (and the fixed legs look as if they can be adjusted with screws on the bottom, though I haven't tried). Being only "recreational" players, my family has not encountered any issues. In fairness, any variation from true level would probably have to be pretty bad before we would notice.

When we bought the table, it was eligible for SuperSaver shipping. When we tried to order it online, however, that option was not available (and we're talking costs in the $150-$175 range). To get this addressed, we needed to call Amazon customer service. (Hint: to find the number, which is better hidden than most state secrets, your best bet is probably to Google it). Once we reached them, however, they were very helpful and credited the shipping back to us. The result was that the final total price we paid (just under $600) was well below what we would have paid at Walmart AND the product was delivered to our door.

We bought this table through Amazon (Fog Dog Sports) in mid June.It was easy to assemble, and the family loved it it plays great.Contrary to what others have said, even though it is heavy, it was fairly easy to move around once it was together.After the first rain, however, we noticed about a 4" crack in the paint, with bubbles forming around it.I contacted the manufacturer, who said it would have to be returned to Fog Dog Sports.On July 2, I initiated the return process.I was told to repackage the table as it was delivered (not an easy task, since it was in a heavy cardboard box and strapped to a pallet Fog Dog suggested we go to an Appliance Store for the supplies to do this).We were to be contacted by a carrier in 7-10 workdays, but possibly sooner, so we were instructed to have it packed back up in 3 days.We scrambled to get it done keep in mind the table is VERY heavy and we lack the expertise needed to do this easily (it took us half a day).We covered it with a tarp in our driveway, awaiting the pickup.After 9 workdays, I contacted Fog Dog, concerned that I hadn't heard from a carrier yet.I was told I would definitely hear from them the following week, that it could take 10 business days. On July 19, I contacted Fog Dog again.This time I was advised, sorry, it could take up to 30 days now, according to the carrier.Really?!So we paid $700+ for a ping pong table in early June (for Father's Day), used it one week, it's defective, and now we won't get a refund/replacement until probably the end of the Summer (or maybe even early Fall at this rate).Lesson learned don't buy oversized items via the internet!!I will update my review with any progress.

7/26 Table picked up by carrier for return, 24 days after requested.Was told it will take up to 30 days to process refund.

If you are looking for an inexpensive, highly durable table to play outdoors or in the garage this is what you want.

The other reviews covered the two piece part of it.One advantage of this is both sides can be folded up and stored tightly against a garage wall.

If you have young boys and want a table that they cannot destroy, this is the unit you are looking for.The legs are solid, very solid steel.The wieght of the unit (compared to other tables) is substantial.This table is easily stored but I would not consider it portable.

The assembly is very, very easy. But you will need help because of the weight.

I saw one comment that stated that this table was extremely heavy. It made me a little apprehensive, but we ordered it anyway.I'm glad we did. Don't let that deter you. You can open the box in the garage and then carry the two separate pieces. My wife and I are in our 40's and certainly not weight lifters, and we were fine putting it together.We are very pleased with the quality of the table and the appearance.It was quick and simple to put together. We live in South Florida, and it's on our back porch. It's been rained on and so far it no signs of any weathering.The description says that it's metal, but for all intensive purposes, I think you could tell someone it's made of wood, and they wouldn't even question it.Great table. Great price.

The product was delivered in a box and looked new.However, when I installed it, the surface on one section of the table was bent a bit, so it is not level under where the net is.I was disappointed with the quality.The table looks sturdy and well made otherwise and the price is good compared to what is available from other sources.

We had a problem with one of the cars when we first got the item. I sent it off with a note saying I did not think we should pay for shipping since my son just got this as a birthday gift and the car was not working.They paid for the shipping and I thought that was very nice of them!! My problem is with the product.It seems to work for a little bit then not work. The kids lost interest in it after two to three weeks of it working on and off. I am not sure why it stops working. They warm the cars up just like the directions says. My husband also has been trying to help but it just doesn't seem to work. I think it is sitting downstairs collecting dust.The birthday boy has been looking at other tracks and I am disappointed.

Dexton Princess Rose Vanity Set

Looked better in the photo. Not great quality. Arrived chipped and slightly damaged in areas. I also had to repair the drawer before ever putting it together which fortunately is underneath so it is not visible unless you look under the vanity. I would not purchase again.

The mirror was broken and a leg of the stool had a huge gougeout of it. The package arrived in time. There was no indication from the outside of the package that there was any problem.
