Very sturdy and doesn't curl. My almost three year old pays better attention because we talk to him about where things go on his placemat.
This is a good placemat to help younger children learn to set the table.
I took off one star for durability. If bent, these mats will crease. I can't see it lasting years (or through a destructive child), but it's well worth the price for us!
