My Little Sandbox Big Builder

This is a wonderful alternative to play doh.It is fun, and easy to clean up.It is also an awesome toy to build creativity. My four children, ages 10,8,5,& 2, spend hours playing with it and the other sandboxes. As an elementary teacher, I would recommend this toy to anyone.Students act out different scenarios and can then write them down.It encourages roll playing and the mat that is enclosed is like a map that I use to reinforce directions.Fine motor skills can also be developed with this toy.It is a wonderful toy for both home and school.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I ordered this sand box. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was made of good solid wood and all the accessories were very life-like. My grandson loves it dearly. In fact when I'm not watching him he is constantly asking when he coming back to Gramas' to play with it. He really uses his imagination and creativity when he is playing with it.Thanks a million!

My kids both received "My Little Sandbox" sets for Hanukkah this year. My son (almost 3) got the digger set. He LOVES it.He's a typical 2-3 year old boy with a short attention span. He can sit at the table quietly playing with this toy for 30 minutes-an hour or more.It is fabulous! However, this is a toy that needs to be played with in a controlled environment. The sand is very fine, and does get out of the box, even with careful play. The set does come with a large plastic mat that you put under the box when playing to try and catch most of the mess. But, some sand will get in the nearby area during play.

In addition, the vehicles that come with this set are pretty much cheap cr@p.Within 24 hours of receiving the toy, the dump truck completely broke. My son was not playing rough with it at all, just typical driving it around the box, etc.And the bulldozer piece was also about to fall apart. I contacted the company and they immediately sent me out 2 additional sets of vehicles at no charge.I was very pleased with the prompt and courteous response to my email, so they do stand behind their products. However, for a toy geared towards young kids they should put vehicles that are somewhat more durable (I have a $1.50 tonka dump truck that he uses now, it is perfect) than the ones they use for the adult version of this toy.

Overall, even with the mess it makes, it is a wonderful toy, especially for the winter months when you can't play outside much or in the event of a new baby for an older sibling to play with while mom needs to attend to the baby, nurse, etc. Well worth the money and a great idea!Just needs a little fine tuning and it will be perfect.

What a great toy this is.I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old son for Christmas, and he's played with it everyday since. It's wonderful to have around on rainy days when playing outside just isn't a possibility. Two thumbs up!

My Little Pony® Crystal Princess™ Desert Rose

this pony has proved (along with the Princess Promenade) to be one of the most popular of the my little pony's we have bought. It comes with a pink skirt, a pink crown and high heel shoes. The most popular item was the dressing table with revolving mirror and after several months it still hasn't broken despite harsh treatemnt. The pony is white with silver strands through the mane and tail. It was very pretty but the rough treatment really does make the mane matted very quickly. Also, think about getting white pony's very seriously for younger children, While the coloured ones can be drawn on with pen and the stains wiped off and at least partly concealed on white ponys it is impossible to hide. For the younger ones (3 year olds) it is hard to get them not to at first. Desert Rose was very pretty but is now a bit stained and sorry looking. Never the less she is integral in my children's games still which is nice. One of the more popular ponies we have bought. Generally very hard wearing, including the accessories, the only item which has been broken is the crown which didn't last it was too thin and got badly bent early on.

JOOLA Avanti Table Tennis Net

The Avanti is a grade lower than I have expected. If I were to purchase another net, I would definitely go with the next grade one. This net has a cylindar that holds the net in-place that needs to be latched into an upright position that is more trouble than it is worth. In addition, the piece that clamps to the table is fairly small, and I was expecting the larger size clamps.I also had a player hit the ball to the net and the latching mechanism on the cylinder unhooked and the net collapsed, which is very bad.Too bad I purchase two of them.

It seems a little cheaper and flimsier than I was expecting.I've had better luck with the DHS nets heavier duty.Wish I had spent just a little extra . . .

Can You Imagine Melting Clock

This clock is a good size and really looks awesome. The only thing misleading about it is that there is a large plastic bubble covering it, which looks terrible and is conveniently hidden in all the product pictures because of the clever angles they take the photos from.

Luckily, its very easy to remove this plastic piece from the back, if you use a small screwdriver. The only downside to that is that eventually the clock will get dusty.

This item is smaller than I had thought and made of plastic. I guess I had looked at so many things lately maybe I didn't read the description to well but I thought it would be made of glass and metal, not all around plastic. It does not rest on the area I had wanted it to, above my fireplace on the mantle, as it need the bottom of the clock to rest on a wall. A little disappointed but I still really like the idea and my husband found a new place to put it. So even though it is not as I thought, it is the only one of it's kind right now and I do still like it.

This is just the sort of wierd piece that I like to display in such a way that you don't notice it right away. The clock works and seems to keep decent time. The finish is a little cheap but hey, it's a novelty.

This George Nelson replica design is of less quality than many others on the market and comes with an inferior quartz movement that (in my case) did not keep time. Tried 3 new AA batteries but it ran very slow, losing 15 mins every hour. Love the design but advice would be to pay a bit more for a better product from a different source and manufacturer.

Want Can You Imagine Melting Clock Discount?

If you are picturing a melting clock the size of one of those standard wall ones that are 12 inches or so diameter you are going to be very sorry....This clock is very cheap and very light. It is also very small.I love the idea of this clock because I have the painting in a poster form and thought it would be a good decor choice to go with.I have it on a book shelf but it's been blown over by the fan and dropped to the chair beside the shelf.Fortunately it didn't break. But I need to affix it with some kind of command hook or something so it won't get broken.Wasn't worth the return postage or back it would have gone.

Air-Powered-Hockey-Table 48"

Santa brought this Air Hockey table for Christmas. The kids are having a blast playing this game.Took about 30 minutes to set up, and seems stable.Concerned that felt pads may come off of pucks, but they can always be reglued. The biggest issue is that there is no air along all 4 sides of this table. You have to push the puck to the middle for it to glide.BUT, Santa got this at Walmart for $29 on Thanksgiving, so for that price, no complaints.Would think twice about paying $100.

We got this at Walmart for $40.00. And for the money its worth every penny. My two 6 year old daughters love it. It works great, looks good, solid enough for them ot lean on, has a electronic score board that goes to up to 9 and once the tenth goal is scored it blinks for the win. You can reset it at anytime(2 AAA batteries required) The score board has sensors in each goals. It also has a manual score keeper above each goal and two pucks. The directons are clear. Its light enough to move around the house yet sturdy. It is the most played with Christmas gift besides the Nintendo. Even my 80 year old mother was playing it. I put it together in 30 min. Just remember to plug the score board wires in the opposite sides of the score boards. You will see. But for the money I still cant believe what you get. If you have older kids you may want to get a larger more heavy duty one because its no Brunzwick. But for 6 year olds its perfect in size and durable. I even enjoy it because I can sit down and play with them. If something craps out, I will update this review. If it lasts a year I will be happy.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay this much for a little chair, but I'm surprised how much my little one enjoys it.I wanted a chair/couch that was well made (not like the $20 plush chairs or bean bag type), and this fits the bill.He can and does climb, stand, and jump on the couch and it seems plenty sturdy. The covering is relatively easy to clean, and the color is fine.

Alex My First Desk Adjustable for "Righties" or "Lefties"

I bought this for my niece for her birthday now I need to get one for my son they fight over it constantly. It gives them a place to do their crafts and homework. It is great to bring outside on a nice day to paint, practice writing on the chlk board, or to do a worksheet for school. It is so easy to clean and it is very sturdy. They even use it to sit and watch TV. When my nefews come over they love to use it also. I have purchased two other desks for my kids in the past, this is by far the best for space and versitility.

I have a 3 year old son who has autism. This desk makes it so much easier for his therapists to work with him.It is also very sturdy and appealing to a little one's eye.Plus, you can install the desk top the opposite way for lefties!Trust me, you and your child will love this desk.

This table is fantastic!Words cannot describe how wonderful it is.Well worth the $ we spent on it.I bought it for both of my children who are 3 and 7 for use at their Grandmother's house. They love it.Of course, they fight over who will be able to use it.I may have to buy another! :)Very easy to assemble, very colorful, and very wonderful. You can even assemble it for right or left handers! My mother loved this so much, that she bought two for my brother and his 3 children...one is assembled for their left handed daughter, and the other for their other 2 right handed daughters. The storage spot underneath is great, and the kids love the little tray on the side for their crayons or colored pencils. It even has a cup for crayons, but my children use this as a drink holder. It's great.I would recommend this to all.

My father bought this desk for my son's 3rd birthday last year. He eats at it, colors on it, sits at it to watch tv, etc. It gets use every single day. My now almost 2 year old daughter uses it also for the same things. They've gotten to where they BOTH want it at the same time so we're going to have to get another one. It's great b/c it easily fits almost anywhere, is very sturdy, and very attractive. We get compliments on it everytime people come over. You can't go wrong with this desk!!!!

Want Alex My First Desk Adjustable for "Righties" or "Lefties" Discount?

I had researched a lot of different desk products by Alex and decided on this one, primarily because of the other reviews I had read which rated it very highly. I'm glad that I did.

My 20 month old got this for Christmas and has used it almost every day since. It is sturdy, attractive and versatile! It is also very easy to assemble.

The reasons I did not give this item 5 stars are:

1. The desk is made from pressboard/particle board no suprise, but a couple of the main pieces arrived with corners that were damaged. It didn't effect its fuctionality, however, I would have prefered, of course, if it wasn't damaged in any way.

2. The canvas bag that hangs on the back of the chair is very thin and doesn't hold much. Also, the way that it is sewn makes it difficult to get into because of the tension.

3. I sort of wish that the under-chair shelf had a back on it so that the items placed on it couldn't get pushed out the back and just end up on the floor.

Other than the above mentioned issues, we really love this desk and would recommend its purchase to any one who has a toddler!

Pine-Pro Bird Feeder Kit

This was a fun project for me and my 6 year old granddaughter. We spent, maybe an hour, by the time we opened the package, put it together and painted it. We both enjoyed putting the project together but mostly it was just a neat time to do something like this together, talk and goof off (There might be a little bit of the paint still on the kitchen table but grandma is very loving and tolerant of us!). This project and the birdhouse were the granddaughter's favorites. It's hard to find this much fun for the price.

I bought two kits and spent an afternoon putting them together with 3 young ladies ranging in age from 4-11. I'm not sure which of them enjoyed it more they all had a good time. I left them to paint it on their own and they had even more fun.

This was to have been a gift for my nephew. When the product arrived, I could tell by the size of the box that it was unacceptable as a gift for anyone.I assembled the kit myself in about 5 minutes and was very glad I didn't give it to anyone. The "feeder" would have held only about two tablespoons of seeds.SO SAD.I left it sitting on my coffee table until my cat knocked it off and it fell apart. The nails wouldn't even hold in the soft wood!

A real waste of money.I ordered another kit from another Amazon provider that was about the same price and just perfect for my nephew. So glad I did!

LEGO Three-Seat Playtable

We gave this to my three boys ages 5,3,and 1 for Christmas and they have not stopped playing with it.It is the perfect size for them and each one is able to create their own individual pieces.I know that this will be enjoyed for many years!

I bought this table for my 2 boys 4 & 2 yrs old. They love it.Very durable, seats are very sturdy & have been well tested as my husband and I both use them when playing with our boys.I would really recommend this table above the others simply because it has the 3 separate play areas which teaches the boys to have respect for the other's 'work'!Most of the Duplo lego fits with the tray which is great as my younger son moves to the smaller pieces. The TV has been forgotten about since we brought this lego table into the house which is a massive bonus!Thoroughly recommend this addition!

Super SpeedWave Slide Yellow

We got this slide to go with the swing set we built for the kids. The platform it is attached to is 6 feet high (at the upper end of the advertised range for this slide). With a 6 foot platform the slide is pretty steep! The kids fly down it.At first they were a bit apprehensive but they have gotten a hang of it and it seems to be ok (they are 4 and 6).The kids are having a ball!We put about 6 inches of mulch down at the bottom of the slide to soften their stop if they get a little out of control.Delivery was fast. The product is sturdy.I slid down to make sure it was going to be ok before I sent my kids down. It doesn't seem to flex or move at all.I put four screws in at the top and three at the bottom which I think was a bit more than directed.I also buried a bigger anchor than the stake that they called for at the bottom but that was probably overkill.I looked around a quite a bit when I was shopping.Slides are surprisingly expensive.Probably because they have to cover the shipping in there somewhere. This was delivered by a big truck as opposed to the usual UPS/FEDEX/USPS.I would have liked a tube slide, but those are very expensive. This slide on Amazon seemed to be the best value for a bigger slide.Look out for the length when you are shopping.A lot of slides look they they are tiny little things that are only good for a 4 foot or so platform. What fun is that?!The only question that remains is how well this well hold up to the summer sun.

We bought this slide to attach to the swing set/fort we built over the summer. Slide is very solid, quite zippy, and the waves add to the fun factor. I will say that the weight limit posted on it might be an exaggeration. I am 5'6" and weigh in at 130lbs and can barely fit between the sides of the slide. My husband is about the 250lb limit posted on it and he went down one time. It bowed and bounced so much that we felt it would be very unwise for him to do so again. It is, alas, meant for children only :)

Buy Super SpeedWave Slide Yellow Now

After much research looking for a durable slide that will last our dauther beyond 10 years old, we decided on this one.Installation was fairly easy on our homemade/designed structure; only required one person.Slide is sturdy with high side rails that make you feel secure. It is one piece construction so no seems to match up or get caught on while sliding.Keeps cool in the summer even in direct sun.Only complaints/concerns 1.Although it says that it can hold up to 270 lbs someone with that weight would never fit down the chute!I am an average proportioned woman of 140 at 5'5" and my hips were squished going down the slide. My husband would never make it!2.You need to make certain the angle of installation is correct or that last wave will bump a toddler in to the air and leave you landing with a big bump.I would definitely recommend this product even with the concerns. We looked at several in our local hardware stores but they seemed flimsy in comparison.I have confidence this slide will last for years to come.

Kikkerland Pea Wind Up Toy, Assorted

This is the smallest and simplest wind-up I've ever seen. The mechanical parts are staggeringly simple---three gears, a spring, a governor, and a key.Wind it up, and it takes off, skittering forward on its four teensy feets, then leveling out to a more reasonable pace.(Think of it as Bonga's tiny, hyperactive sister.) It only goes about a foot before running out of steam, but that's forgivable considering its size...

...And be warned, this thing is wee.Not counting the key, you get only about an inch of wind-up toy front to back.It isn't as fragile as the instructions suggest (kikkerland makes quality goods) but even so, you still have to consider whether dropping ten bucks for a lilliputian wind-up is worth it.

For me, it was.Just looking at its tiny size, and watching the incredibly simple mechanism make it race around maniacally, made it all worth while. And isn't that what toys are for?

We ran across these pea creatures while out shopping and they caught our attention. It is refreshing to run across something so simple but yet so much fun and at a fantastic price point! We bought three for three grandsons aged 8,11,13 and I can hardly wait to send them to them!I am confident that this toy will provide hours and hours of entertainment for them and I anticipate seeing different models on theirbirthday and 2012 Christmas lists.

They are packaged in a nice see-through plastic box along with a cute little book that shows all the other models available.

Bottom line:I would recommend these for any kid or young-at-heart kid!

EDITED TO INCLUDE:The boys went crazy when they received these! It was so much fun to see how much they loved such a simple toy. They came to visit a couple of weeks ago and wanted to go to the store to choose another one.

The store in Manitou Springs, CO (Yo Yo Loco) is owned by a great guy that was happy to demonstrate each one so they could choose.

I am positive they will want another one next visit.

Super Mario Bros. Centerpiece Party Accessory

This is a pretty big centerpiece. It came as flattened cardboard cutouts I had to assemble. It wasn't difficult, but I had to provide my own curling ribbon to place around Mario and Luigi. The ribbon doesn't appear in the photo, but it is part of the instructions and the centerpiece does look rather plain without ribbon. When put together, it stands 15" x 11" x 11".The colors aren't as vibrant as they appear online, but it was adequate. It did its job, but I've seen more attractive centerpieces.

Baby Bison Cuddlekin 12" by Wild Republic

As someone who has seen these beautiful baby animals out in Yellowstone National Park, I can safely say that this is one of the finest buffalo plushies you could ever buy. This toy is designed to both stand in an accurate position or sit in an adorable pose on its sturdy yet soft hooves. I love the white undercoat (though from my research of bison, I've never seen a calf look like that) that brings out the back of the hooves as well. The fur of this plush is also very soft and fuzzy, like actual calves are.

Overall, if you love buffalo, want to collect a more unusual high-quality toy, or have a kid that visited and loved a wildlife reserve with buffalo in it, I'd highly recommend it. With all the junk plushies of bison that are too fluffy and can't stand on their poorly-constructed hooves, this plushie is a delight.
