My boys are delighted with this train. It seems sturdy and well-made, though I'm sure they'll succeed in breaking it eventually.I would add two caveats: 1) this train takes six AAA batteries, three for the train and three for the controller. I didn't realize it took so many and the price in batteries is probably going to add up, although we'll see how long they last. 2) I somehow missed the fact that these are pretty loud. It makes a chugging sound every time you move the handle, and there's a whistle button and a theme song button on the handle. The flip side is that the kids will take the controllers in the car and play away, even without the trains, while driving, but they're too noisy to take into most stores. Not deafening or wildly annoying, just "take it in the other room while I'm watching TV and folding laundry" loud.
Unexpected plus: the trains are designed for tracks but do just fine on a hard floor or a low-pile rug. I would definitely recommend these toys to any things-that-go obsessed child (or parent who wants a break!).
**Note** We've had these trains for over a year now and I'm still happy with them. They move slowly enough that they haven't been subjected to the usual repeated banging into walls that disables all my kids' other R/C toys within a week of purchase. The trains do gulp batteries, but the main problem is making sure the kids turn them off when they're not in use. Mine will play with them for a few days and then forget about them for a few weeks, so I tend to change the batteries at those intervals.

So far, it seems very durable, my son loves these trains and they work well. The batteries do run out rather quickly with a lot of use though. My 3 year old son has autism. He often looks for things to visually stimulate himself. I purchased the Tidsmuth Station set with four additional trains and he loves it. We spend much time together watching and learning colors, names, use of remote controls, and many other things. This is a great toy. The Tidsmuth stations has been bashed for breaking easily, but ours seems to be fine. If you let your children have at it, it will break, but that's not how this toy should be used. Spend time with your kids and this is an excellent experience.200 Blue Dice - 16mm
Sesame Street Small Plush
It is extremely soft, which Gund toys are always famous for. It is of the feel of a bean bag, sort of cuddly and indeed under-stuffed in areas to make it that way, with some beans or whatever in the tush. The material is outstanding, sort of shaggy like we know of this character. It is not like other ones I have seen, where the fur lies close to the body. It's more keeping to the Cookie we see on TV. The colour is an exceptional one of bright blue. The eyes give the illusion of those famous google-eyes we all grew up seeing, one up, one sort of tilted down. The mouth is great, because it is partly open, like when Cookie speaks. This toy would probably be great for little 'cookie-parties' with your child. I can see a youngster giving a little cloth or plastic 'cookie' to him, and this is possible with that open mouth.
The arms are great, because when positioned in just such a way, they sort of fold around your shoulder when you hold him. They are the lightest part of the design, I think, for that reason. A great thing for a child to hold.
Overall, this is a fantastic item. I smile to think of the simple joys it will bring to children who receive it. For me, it does well to remind me of my own childhood years of relishing Sesame Street and this unforgettable character.Let me say my 2 year old adores this product. She thinks it is the cutest thing she has ever seen.By looks I give this a 10.Durability and craftsmanship get a 2.We own about 10 other Sesame Street toys and this one fell apart faster than any other and even our other abby dolls. We owned this exactly 5 days before a wing fell off. Then we lost a piece of the skirt. After 4 months she has 1 wing and is missing 3 pieces of the skirt and the bottom of the wand. Her hair is falling apart and she looks like a hot mess.We paid $24 for this and it is worth about $5.If your child plans on playing with her toys don't bother with this one.I had to buy two in one year and they both look like trash.

Our two year old Jimmy is a big fan of Sesame Street.Over the past few months he's gotten more and more interested in counting and loves when The Count appears on the show.
Since the day The Count arrived at our house, Jimmy has been thrilled.
This 14-inch doll is the is the most detailed Sesame Street doll that we have.We were really impressed with the intricacy of his costume.

And it is very durable, I've caught him sleeping with it a few times on the couch. Frost Giant Warrior
The body is actually the exact same molding as this figure:Frost Giant Warrior except for the big sword arm that is slgihtly lower. Head and the weapons are different but if you are going to buy both (as I did) have in mind they are going to look very similar so you might need heavy (MotoTool, etc) customization.

Pieces feel very sturdy and the mat is a decent quality. You might need to place this by a window or vent when you first receive because the mat has a really strong plastic/neoprene smell at first.I am just starting to learn how to play chess and really love the game, even if I'm a pretty bad player right now. I have been looking for that one perfect game that my whole family can enjoy-once I teach them how to play. After buying and returning 3 different chess sets to the stores over the past 2 weeks, of not being completely satisfied with the quality and/or prices of each, I have finally found just what I was looking for right on amazon!
This set is GREAT! I love the overall size and feel of the pieces in my hand. The quality is wonderful! They are solid plastic except for the empty space down the center of the insides of each piece. These are meant to be this way. This is the "standard" set. They are left empty with no weights inside of them. A felt bottom is put on to cover up the hole where a weight would usually go. If you want to do it yourself, you can just carefully peel back the felt sticker and add your own weights. In a way, this is the cheaper way to go. The double or triple weighted sets are already done for you but cost more. The weights add to them to prevent them from falling over or getting knocked over by any slight movement, or if you play outside in a windy day. They are already pretty good weight, but an added weight just adds an extra protection from that.Anyway, I still love these pieces. They are very durable, meaning if you drop one on a hard surface they should not break so easily. They are not so heavy either making them great to travel with even though they are very big in size. These are the same quality pieces used in chess tournaments and clubs. They are a very thick and tough hard plastic. Very nicely made and detailed. Very smooth and a little shine on them. I can't get over how big they are! The king is almost 4 inches!
I love the board! I don't understand the complaints from some of the reviews of other customers. I don't agree with any of them. The board Does NOT crease, and does NOT smell horribly bad enough to open a window! NO. It will only crease if you fold it. I strongly recommend you don't. Then it will leave creases hard to get out. The board only had a light plastic-type smell as I opened it new from the box, but just after 2 minutes I don't smell a thing. And it is not a bad smell. In fact, I kind of like the smell-I know that sounds wierd but it does sort of have a nice "new" smell to it, but very light. The board is VERY BIG! I love it! It is not as thin like others have said. NO. It is a good thickness that it does not curl up at the corners like other's have mentioned. I have no need to pin it down on something. You're supposed to roll it up like it came in the original box. You roll it like a poster or tube. You roll it so the chess board is facing you with the underside is on the inside. The board is said to be a little over 19 inches on the ad on amazon. The board I recieved is said to be 20 inches! I beleive it because it is so HUGE! It is so easy to roll up again and take anywhere. I never had a problem with the corners curling or it creasing on me-as long as I roll it like I explained. It is very durable, and easy to just wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. Oh, and as most people love the green board, I love this black one. It matches the pieces more. I don't see any problem with black and white squares.
The only drawback I have is that I wish this set came with a bag but that would cost more. I bought this set very cheap because it does not come with a bag. To buy the bag alone would cost quite a bit so I think I can find any bag that would work just about as good somewhere els in the stores. I need one that can fit two sets though. This set was so cheap that I purchased another one of the exact same pieces, but that set did not come with a board. Only a little square shaped bag that can only fit one set. I purchased two sets for a reason. If you really know how to play chess you need two sets. Once your pawn reaches the opposite end of the board, it transforms or graduates into any piece that you have had put out of the game or a new one all together. Usually it is a queen that is chosen. That's the reason why these plastic tournament pieces come with 1 extra queen for each side. But it does not necessarily have to be a queen. It depends what works for you at the moment of play. Of course most of the time we choose a queen, since it the the piece that has the most power. There may be times when you want a different piece, so that is why I ordered another set. Also, what if you get more pawns at the end? More queens? You can have up to 4 queens with two sets!!! That is cool!
At least they give you one for each which is totally cool, since no other chess sets do that. To conclude this, it is a great set for a great price and just what I wanted! I am VERY happy with it and highly recommend it! The price is excellent. I figure because people need to buy a lot of them in bulk for chess clubs and schools, so the price needs to be so low. Really, Trust me on this. Get it! You will not be dissatisfied! This is a good starter set for someone that wants the feel of playing with a set of pieces that are weighted quiet well and are tourment sized pieces. I am happy that the pieces are made as good as they are so when i move them i can tell they are in my hand. The playing board is shaky ground and what i did was use another board which is a hard broad to play on and since you are getting a good price on the pieces you can afford to fine you a broad to play on. So my final statement is that the pieces are worth what you are paying and second just get you another broad to play them on.

Was a holiday gift :) very pleased :) unique looking toys with cool little bio info included..I bought this as a gift for my 4-year-old nephew, who also loves monster-themed clothes. It's very cute and he loved it. One comment I have is that the color is a little weird. It almost looked dirty when I got first took it out of the box, but I saw that it's just the way the material is colored. Still a great gift!

Sigh... this is such a great toy.My 5 & 3 year old LOVE IT.They give speeches all the time -"peaches" the three year old says -and I love listening them rattle on about nothing in particular. The PROBLEM is that the thingy that holds the mic in, just isn't strong enough.I can say this WITH CONFIDENCE, because it wasn't my kids who broke it.It was me, and I DID NOT force the mic into the holder.I just slid it in as I had done many other days, and this time the holder gave way and split.I glued it back together, but now it's weak and keeps breaking.I'm resorting to blue duct tape next, which will probably work, but will look ugly as heck.Oh well... my kids still love it.I cannot say I regret buying it, but I can say I regret that it was not made properly.I love Bontempi otherwise, we have several of their instruments, which have upheld well.Purchase with caution!

Received this lamp as a gift for my boys' room. They loved the look of the lamp and were excited to receive it.It is not very bright AT ALL, even using a higher wattage light bulb. However, that is not my main issue. We used it the day we received it, no problem. However, the second time I turned it on, the chain made a "snap" sound, and now it is completely stuck. You are no longer able to pull the chain to turn it on or off; I had to unplug it from the wall in order to turn it off.I will definitely be returning the lamp, not only for it obvious design defect, but also because it barely casts any light in my kids' room.Disappointed, because my boys liked the look of the lamp.

My son loved it....he saw it and was excited to put it in his room.He loves the little widows that shows action.Lego Ice Bricks Tray
We will also be using it to make chocolate legos for a birthday party.
Sounds like fun.I got this mold to make molded crayons for a crayon recycle project at my sons school, but the mold was so cute, I decided to use it for edible objects! I have used it for molding chocolate lego bricks for our school store. I use every color chocolate and the results are adorable, I also got the lego minifigure silicone mold and that is equally cute and easy!!! kids LOVE them.
This mold is good quality and does a fine job for making ice, jello, gummy, or chocolate Lego-like bricks, but it is not Lego-branded and the bricks are not Lego-sized.The bumps are smaller relative to the overall brick size, and the bricks themselves are much bigger than standard Lego, yet not big enough to be Duplo.I have a comparison photo with a fondant brick made in this mold (blue) and a real Lego brick (yellow) here:
Decide what you need this for, because that'll make the difference to how happy you are with the outcome. Are you going to make candies for little kids? Then get it.It's easy, works well, and little kids aren't going to be pedantic about the size. Are you looking to make exact-replica Lego items for a teenager or adult who will notice and care? Then don't bother with it, because it's not accurate.
The minifig ice tray, by contrast, is an official Lego product and makes them to the proper scale. So if you have both, be prepared for them to not go so well together; the accurate minifigs will highlight the inaccurate proportions of these bricks. Then again, I promise if you make a bunch of Lego candies of both types and serve them at a six-year-old's birthday party, they will be delighted and not notice the difference.I purchased the Lego brick mold to make chocolates for my son's 7th birthday. It was really easy to use and so much fun. I've never molded chocolate before so that is a learning experience but the mold is simple and the bricks pop right out. After the birthday party, we'll continue to use this for ice or candies again.I purchased the lego brick mold to make candy and crayons for my sons 6th birthday. These were easy to make and fun to eat or color with.I used the tray in the oven at 300* to melt the crayons and they cleaned up easily in the dishwasher. When making the chocolate candies, make sure to tap the filled molds on a hard surface to remove any air bubbles. These were a big hit with the kids and the parents.I would recommend this product to anyone who loves legos.

Intex 117-by-76-by-53-Inch Rainbow Ring Pool Play Center
The little pillows on the larger ring make a squeaking noise when squeezed, which would no doubt bring squeals of giggles from the tots. The most fun part, however is the shower, which when the hose is turned up high whips around and showers everything! This has been found to be hysterical, if best done near a flower bed that needs the water anyway. At lower pressure it showers down one pool or the other, depending on which direction the rainbow arch is drooping.
Unfortunately our boys are a bit out of this age range (3 & 5 now) and while they enjoy it as a pool, its clear the activities are a bit beneath them. It is made of light weight PVC, such as you might expect from a drug store inflatable raft. The larger rings have both large holes for an air pump, as well as smaller ones to be inflated directly by a person. The ramps, rainbow and other accessories are all person inflatable only. The air-pump holes are also not valved, so be quick about getting the caps on!I suspect it will prove not be as durable and easy to use as our previous pool, which was better constructed, though also made by Intex.
In short, a toddler would love this pool, and if it didn't survive more than one season it is probably still a value. For larger kids prone to running jumps onto the tubes, there may be a better choice. At this point I expect to be looking again next year.My two year old loved this, he and three of the neighborhood kids, ranging in age from 2-6 years old had a blast in this pool and put it through the ringer. I am completely satisified with this pools entertainment value but there is a huge catch for the parents... there's no drain for it and it holds about 110 gallons of water! Which means 1) you must keep it covered when not in use, 2) will have to bail out this pool one bucket at a time to clean it!!! And trust me its no small task, I have it down to about a 45 minute process. I also tried using a hose with negative pressure to try and siphon-drain it and it took about three hours to move only a few gallons of it.Seriously unless you want this for infrequent use and you intend to just deflate it every time, don't bother. Its allot of work for something that would have been such an easy fix for the company to install! Just one little drain!

I bought this formy two year old daughter for her birthday, and she loves it.As others have said, it's actually the size you would expect coming out of the box.I actually inflated it myself without a pump, and it didn't seem to take that long.I used the larger valves to blow most of the air and once it was close to inflated, I used the smaller valves to finish. It seems durable enough so far.I will echo one other person's comment about there not being drains. While they would be nice, it wasn't that big of a deal to drain this morning.I just stepped on the sides and let a lot of the water drain out that way.
I highly recommend.

I purchased this product for my daughters 2nd birthday. She LOVED it once it was up.The problem was taking it down/emptying it. There is no drain plug. The other review that stated it had 2 holes is referring to the air holes. Unless you wish to deflate and inflate each time its not worth your time. A pool cover will only delay the inevitable and increase chances of bacteria with the sitting water.I'm returning it and going with the intex pool that is shaped like a star and has an inflatable bottom with a drain plug. Doesn't look as toddler/kid appealing but kids just like pools. So I hope it will work. Returning this pool has also been a hassle....Don't do it. I think your little one will be just as happy in a more practical pool...and you will too!Want Intex 117-by-76-by-53-Inch Rainbow Ring Pool Play Center Discount?
This is a very cute, large kiddie pool that we enjoyed all summer long. The age on the box states 3 and up, but we purchased it for our 1 year old and it worked well for her and her friends that were up to about 4 or so.Older kids would probably rather have something else, though, as the slide and activities on this one were almost too "babyish" for my 4 year old nephew. It is lareg enough to accomodate several kids (and adults!I got in myself on some of those 90 degree + days!) I only gave this 4 stars because the rainbow sprinkler never stood up like it should and by the end of the summer the one ball roller side panel had deflated to the point that it wouldn't hold air. (to be fair my daughter had used that side to climb in and out, sitting on it as she went, and more than once I caught her bouncing on it like a rocking horse) Overall worth the price we paid (which was around 35, I believe)Life-Like Trains HO Scale Building Kits -Town Church

This is a decent kit. Price is low, but unfortunately the quality is not too great especially when you compare to other kit makers such as Faller or Vollmer. Plastic coloring is not realistic, pieces don't always fit together or function well, and "stained glass" windows do not look good. We brought it to a friend's place to play after dinner. It took a while to get a hang of the way the game is supposed to work and the dynamics of each round, but after a few turns, we were able to get it all figured out.
I really liked all aspects of this game the 'Risk' aspect of trying to take over the map, the fantasy aspect of the characters, and the unique way the game's races are developed. Every game you play will be different due to how things are set up!
My only complaint is with the tray the Race Tokens are stored in... it was pretty hard for me (who has small fingers, even) to get the tokens in and out of the little squares they are supposed to go in. Especially when some were in use and the remaining ones would fall forward.
Overall, I'm really happy that we got this game, I'm looking forward to sharing it with other people!
My game group played this recently and although I enjoyed my experience with Small World, I'm not aching to replay it like I do with other board games. Overall, Small World is a fun game. A little action, a little randomness, some important decision making, excellent flavor, but also a little bit on the slow side.
The game itself isn't that long of a game. Our first game, even with all of the rules lookups took only about 2 hours (which is a little big long) but I think on future plays, an average game would take about 45-70 minutes.
The gameplay is fairly simple here, but be prepared to look up a lot of rules throughout the game on your first play. A series of races with special powers are placed on the table. Players choose a race and power, and then proceed to conquer various areas on the board. At the end of their turn, each area currently occupied by that player scores a point. That player may earn additional points based on his special ability. Then the next player goes and so on. At some point, a player decides that he can progress no further with his race (generaly either because it'd be hard/impossible to expand, or because it'd be hard to defend his position), and sets them in decline. The player now chooses a new race and special ability, and as a bonus, collects points on any territories that his race still controls at the end of his next turn.
After a set number of turns, the game ends and whoever has the highest point total wins. Simple enough.
The problem with this game comes in the fact that a turn is fairly long--about 1 to 2 minutes for each player, and when it's another player's turn, there's precisely nothing for you to do, but watch. You can't work on your strategy too much, because the board changes a lot in any given round, and players actions may affect your standing on the board, but you can't react to it at all. All of this makes small world feel a little longer than it needs to be. Still a fun game, but a bit on the boring side.
Average Game Length: 45-70 minutes
Turn length: about 1-2 minute per player, about 40-50 turns per game.
Minimum age: probably about 8. Some minor rules may require some assistance.I am an avid gamer, mostly strategy and RPG, and this game was a great purchase.I was able to get some friends to play, that normally would not play this type of board game.It is light hearted and easy to get into. There is enough strategy, that a real gamer will appreciate, but also it is not too in depth that it will frustrate a non gamer.Overall, I would recommend this with 5 stars and will be purchasing multiple copies for friends and family members.Great job Days Of Wonder!!!

Remember Risk? Remember how fun it was to attack your opponents' armies and take over their land? Remember how that fun lasted for a while and then, several hours later, you'd hunker down in the corner of Australia, waiting for the game to mercifully end?
Small World is the answer to that. It takes all the good parts of Risk and repackages it in a clever construct with a beautiful design. The premise here is that instead of simply having armies compete to take over territory, players control races, each with their own special set of powers. The powers give you the ability to, say, attack lands more powerfully, or defend them more toughly. What makes it fun is that these powers are embodied by various races -e.g. Dwarves, Amazons, Giants, Tritons -each represented by colorful, gorgeously drawn tokens, and each with a special power. Because the races and powers are randomly combined at the beginning of the game, each game is different than the last and requires a completely new strategy.
STRENGTHS:
* Variety of strategy. This is requirement number one for any game that's going to hold my interest over time. If it's too "solvable", then the challenge of playing the game quickly diminishes after just a few games. Because the possible power-race combinations number in the thousands, it's unlikely any two games will ever be the same.
Interaction. Requirement number two. So many board games these days involve four people tending to their own pieces, playing their own separate games. You can't do that in Small World and expect to win. You have to both a) be very aware of the other players' movements, and b) be ready to attack them without mercy.
* Design. Days of Wonder puts out some of the best-looking games out there. Lots of little visual flourishes make interacting with the pieces and board that much more enjoyable.
* It scales. There are actually four boards in the box: one for each number of players (2 to 5). This makes the game board perfectly balanced, no matter the player count.
* It's relatively quick. A twoor three-person game will take about an hour. A fouror five-person game less than 90 minutes.
WEAKNESSES:
* There are a LOT of pieces. This presents a few problems: it takes a few minutes to set the game up; you'll be screwed if you lose a piece (they don't include extra player tokens); and if you buy one of the expansions, you'll have a hard time fitting it into the box, because it's a very snug (though well-designed) fit as it is. Not sure how they could have gotten around this without making the game pricier.
* There are a lot of small rules. This is a byproduct of having dozens of races and powers -each has to have a paragraph of explanation in the rulebook. Each player gets a cheatsheet for quick reference, but it can seem a little overwhelming at first. Again, not sure how they could have avoided that, and they did a good job making the text quick and to the point.
* It can take a few games to get the hang of how it flows. Not really a weakness; just a reason to play the game more.
CONCLUSION
If you're ready to move past Risk, and you're ready to take on a little nerdery (hello, Berserk Goblins and Forest Elves) in your games, pick up a copy of Small World. The best part may be that it's highly expandable, evidenced by the two expansion packs already available, each with a number of new races and powers. With a foundation as solid as this, it should take a long time for it to grow old.
Small World is a fantasy combat/civilization game from Days of Wonder. Small World was designed by Philippe Keyaerts whom many of you may remember was the designer of Vinci.
Players take control of one of the many available fantasy races. All the fantasy races of common lore are available (orcs, dwarves, elves, etc). Players gain victory points primarily by controlling spots on the board. The player with the most points is the winner.
Each race has a starting force allotment, usually around 4 to 6. Players take this allotment and strive to take as much land as possible with it. The force allotments are printed on durable cardboard tiles. To claim a territory, a player must place more 1 more force there than that which defends it. The losing player retains all his lost forces save one. Thus, there is a slow but fairly steady attrition in the game.
When a player believes his chosen race can serve him no more, he may elect to go into decline. His race on the board is flipped over. The player still scores points for this race but he may not expand with them. Play continues until the final round is played. The amount of rounds is dictated by the amount of players. The player with the most points is winner.
Small World has a lot going for it. There are two boards and each is double sided. The different boards are used for different amounts of players. The game is nicely tweaked for various amounts of players from 2 to 5. This is such an elegant feature, that this alone deserves 1*!
Small World is also quick to learn. Pretty much what I stated above is how to play. Sure, there are few more minor rules but they are intuitive if you grasped what I wrote above.
Small World also has a great deal of diversity. In addition to the various races, there are various traits. Each race starts with a random trait. The traits are characteristics like, "merchant", or "hill". These characteristics could give a bonus to your force allotment, give you extra victory points for controlling certain spots on the board, or give you an attack or defense bonus. This is so elegant and innovative that this too deserves 1*!
Small world is great for the non-gamer. As a gateway game, it's ranked #2 in book--second only to FFG's Kingsburg. It's a fairly quick game and has a minimal learning curve--all the requirements for a gateway game.
The only reason I don't give Small World a full 5***** is because it's a little bit shallow compared to games I give 5 stars to. The game is fun but it's not the type of game that will really scratch your gaming itch.

Bought air hockey game as a Christmas gift for my 5 year old son who loves air hockey. When we put it together we found that the slot for batteries was missing two metal plates with springs. This game is now useless. I bought it for a great price and paid almost as much for shipping and now its useless. Too Bad it looks like we would have enjoyed playing with it.Read Best Reviews of Mini Table Top Air Hockey - Comes with Everything You Need Here
My son received this for his 5th birthday and loves it. He plays daily with his father. Perfect for those that don't want a lot of floor space taken up with a full size game table. I can not comment on the durability yet, but it seems like something that should hold up for a while. The motor is near silent and the batteries have lasted about a week so far with daily use and have not needed to be recharged. It comes with two pucks. I consider this to be some what of a portable game as it will easily travel to grandmas, camping, and etc.

Bought this for my daughter. Part of the brown "wood" (actually contact paper) already coming off. I go to put batteries in it. 8 AA batteries. The screw is stripped in the battery compartment. I had to pry the darn thing open. I finally get the batteries in and turn it on. The fan sounds like it is dying. It isn't seated correctly. So cheap it moves around and sounds like it is about to blast off to outer space. Too much of a pain to return, so we just play it without the air.
