It's a gas to watch people grabbingfor falling cards and seeing their faces as they see the card slip out ofsight!
My family and I love to play this game.It works well forplayers of many ages (including children). The range of questions makesthis game workable for children from about age 8 or so on up.It alsoworks well as a party game for older folks.
Great stuff, great fun, butdoesn't really teach you all that much -oh well, not every game has to dothat!
Have fun.
Alan HolyoakThis is simply charades with rules, which is both good and bad. There are two sets of word / phrase cards, one with more difficult words / phrases that are worth more.Every card has two words / phrases, one more difficult and rewarding. They're placed in a thing that makes the cards fall one by one.You have to get your team to guess what you're acting and quickly grab the card.I think it's better without keeping score. This is a pretty good party game.I recommend it for any group of 3 or more friends or family members, especially one that can't come up with any charades things to act.
This is one of those games that's great in a large group and only fun the first few times you play.
I give it a recommendation, because at the right time and place it's a perfect game, but do point out that it's not a classic any time any place game, and it's definately not one that two or three can play by themselves.

Guesstures is hilariously fun!My husband and I often invite new people from our church over for dinner, and this is a great ice-breaker game.It prevents those akward moments when no one has anything to say, and it opens up the lines of communications. It is also a great tool to learn about people it's fun to watch the guys try to come up with stuff for each card, and it has sparked some wild discussions in our home.I've never had a guest come back and say they had a terrible time playing "Guesstures" with us in fact, we've developed a reputation within our circle of friends for a fun night out because of this game.I would also recommend this for kids and teens our 9yo loves this game and asks to play it often.

Also, it is made of very soft metal so it needs its own special place. Thin places like the cane and arms bend easily so you cant just throw it in a zip-loc with all your other minitures.
But it is well sculpted, its heavy, the metal looks like pure silver and I got it for 3 bucks. I plan to buy more.

My kids love this toy and can play with it for hours. It teaches them shapes and colors and develops fine motor skills.
Unfortunately, the lid to the box is very sharp and apparently fun to play with.
I threw it out after one of my boys scrached his face with it.
My boys are 20 months and now know all the shapes and colors in this toy.

The two main problems are:
1.) Can't turn it on/off (or recharged) without removing iPad from case.
2.) Some apps may have areas of the screen you want to protect against the babies pressing.
For the first I set the iPad to automatically turn off after 15 minutes of being left alone, then drilled a small hole over the Home button. Now I can turn it on with a pen, and it'll turn itself off when they're done with it.Don't have to recharge nearly so often.
For the second I found that cutting a thin piece of cardboard in the shape of the area you want to protect works wonders. The fit is tight enough that there's no need to use tape or glue it'll stay in place.I had a piano app with a config button that allowed them to get to Facebook and iTunes, but with the cardboard problem solved.I like this case. I probably would not buy it again though. Here's why: It's expensive for what you're getting. It adds a good amount of size and weight to your iPad but I guess it has to in order to make your iPad rugged. I tested this with a first generation iPad and the fit is perfect. I can't speak on later versions of the iPad and whether or not they would rattle around inside this case. It's difficult to dry this thing after washing it because internally, there are lots of little spaces where water can get caught. You do not want your iPad in this thing unless it's completely dry. The screen produces a lot of air bubbles (the same air bubbles that you get when applying a protective screen to your iPad). The flaps in the back that pop up to make a stand are worthless. Laying the iPad flat on a table with one of the flaps popped up does not raise the iPad high enough for children to see and use the iPad. The toys in the handle just get in the way. Without the toy rings in the handle, it makes for a great handle. But with the toys in there, it makes carrying the iPad with the handle difficult. The free apps are fun and interactive but you do not need to purchase this case to buy them. Just search for "Laugh & Learn" in the App Store. There are 4 apps in all.

First thing is:I just paid $26 with FREE shipping and now it's almost $50?????? Seems shady. However, this is exactly what I've been looking for. I have 2 toddlers in my home that are early learners and I have lots of apps for them. The home button of the iPad screams "push me" when you're 2 years old. I like that it has the option for covering the home button or leaving it open to the protective touch screen for when Mommy wants to take it back. I also like that it's almost impossible for little hand to remove the back. Yes, it's adds weight, but that means its harder for them to lobb across the living room. Yes, it's bulky, but I honestly don't mind. Now I don't mind allowing my daughter to sit and play with my iPad. Giving her supervised independence and giving me peace of mind is what I was looking for and it's what I got. By the way. I typed this review with my iPad in the Fisher-Price case.Read Best Reviews of Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Apptivity Case: iPad Edition Here
As most "child centred" tablets are really deficient in terms of number of apps, battery time and need for re-charging, we settled for an iPad for our two and a half year old and it is really good as a learning, playing and teaching tool. However, it was always going to take a battering by being thrown, smashed, sat on and ... you get the picture!.This product has proven to be very durable, strong, not too heavy, but just heavy enough to discourage too much throwing around by a toddler. It also allows reasonable picture quality through the screen. It has been dropped, scratched, smashed and thrown around but the iPad is very well protected, i couldnt have found a better product to protect the iPad. One major failing is that in designing the thick strong casing and protection, there is no way of adjusting overall volume, switching the ipad off, using headphones or doing anything that involves controls on the iPad's own casing. Otherwise i recommend this highly.Want Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Apptivity Case: iPad Edition Discount?
This is the best purchase I have made for my iPad.I have 3 toddlers. They can use my iPad to play games, view videos, etc without me having any fear of damage.
The protective shield for the face of the iPad doesn't hinder it's capability at all.
The children have dropped the iPad and the insulated case has protected it from damage.
My only criticism is that you have to remove the iPad from the case in order to charge it and you need a tool, coin or butter knife to turn the mechanism on the back of the case to remove the iPad. It would be nice if something were included that attached to the case.
Halex Rack-it-Back Paddle Game (Colors May Vary)
I already own the Smashball brand of these paddles. They are wood and they warped soon after purchase. I found these on amazon, according to the description "two molded flourescent paddles" and other reviewers' comaring this product to wood paddles, I believed I was getting plastic paddles. However what just arrived IS wood, and IS already warped.
I wonder if the one reviewer who says the product is used in the pool actually did get a plastic version. There is no way the item I received could be used in the pool.
That being said, the game is fun. I would just prefer a flat paddle rather than a warped one.

When ordering these rackets, the reviews or vendor descriptions indicated that the rackets were good for use as ping pong rackets. We quickly discovered that the balls did not bounce well on the new ping pong table and that the paddles were of such poor quality that the first time the kids (11 year old girls) used them, the edges chiped.Read Best Reviews of Halex Rack-it-Back Paddle Game (Colors May Vary) Here

Thomas & Friends Take N Play Talking Percy Train Engine
If you're interested in starting a "talkies" collection of your own, they are (in order of introduction):Thomas, Percy, James, Gordon, Spencer, Rosie, Henry, Edward, Diesel, Toby, Sir Topham Hatt's Musical Caboose, Emily, Flynn, Troublesome Trucks (only 1 talks), Percy at the Dieselworks, Thomas & Percy Hard at Work (a Kmart exclusive), Salty, Diesel 10, and new for 2012! Charlie.
A little of our own "Thomas" history... As first time grandparents, my husband and I wanted to start some type of collection for our grandson that he could possibly pass along to his own kids one day.Our grandson was 2 1/2 at the time, and had been talking a lot about a certain train named Thomas (a little fella whom now seems hard to believe! we'd never heard of.)After doing some research, it seemed the Take-n-Play line might be the perfect investment to engage and encourage his active imagination, as well as provide a fun way for us to interact with him. What a rewarding decision... we've had SO much fun together with this quality line of trains, vehicles and playsets! He's now 4, and a large portion of our basement has become a wonderful Sodor land of make believe that we all enjoy visiting and continues to hold his interest, which is quite a feat given the tendency at that age to move in and out of toy phases so quickly!I bought this for my 5 year old daughter who loves thomas and friends for christmas & she was super excited when she got it .she has the tidmouth sheds just with thomas and needed a friend for thomas. Very happy with the toy!

This is a very durable, wonderful colored, attractive little toy. For Thomas fans, this is a must. It chuffs great. The whistle and the light will amaze the little train enthusiasts. However, Percy does not talk about the mail anymore; now he talks lines from the movie, Day of the Diesels. Maybe the Percy that talks about mail will be a collector's item in the future.Read Best Reviews of Thomas & Friends Take N Play Talking Percy Train Engine Here
The kid wanted a talking Percy train, and he got one.But the train we received from this shipper is not as pictured in the product listing. It's a "special" talking Diesel Works Percy train. So it looks the same as the regular talking Percy, but says rather boring things about the Diesel Works (not the usual "bust my buffers" etc. that these talking trains do).I would have preferred the train shown in the picture which is the regular talking Percy. It will now be a gift for another boy who won't care that it's not the regular Percy, but I would have probably returned/exchanged it if it was for my somewhat pickier son.

I searched for days for this toy.My 17 month old son has recently developed a love of Thomas and his favorite character is Percy".He had received the Take N Play talking "James" for Christmas and really liked playing with it, so I decided to try and find a "Percy".He has had the toy for three days now and hardly ever puts it down.We have actually had to tell him that "Percy" is tired and has to go to sleep in order to get him to go to bed at night and naptime! This train has bumped, crashed, gone down the racetrack, substituted as a drumstick, and otherwise been thoroughly played with by an energetic little boy for the past three days and looks great! The only complaint I have is that it was very hard to find and when I did it cost $8.00 more than the other trains I purchased at the same time (and was the smallest of them all).Great toy!New Arrivals Flea Market Chairs, White
Bas Ket
the construction is fantasticMy cousin and I played this game a lot when we were kids. Always a blast. Thought my 7 year old grand daughter should see how much fun an old school mechanical game can be. She loved it and was scoring 3 pointers from the deep court the first time playing. Super well built and so far pretty accurate shooting. Ball can get stuck on the sides sometimes. With the hardwood court frame, firm masonite backboards with concession stand and crowd detailing, I believe thin firm masonite floor, real string nets, authentic looking basketballs, I think this game is going to be enjoyed a long time. Sounds like I could sell them right? I could. I bought a cheap imitation for $20 somewhere else and sent it back the next day. Well worth the $53 with free shipping I paid around Christmas from Amazon. You'll maybe want to put some sticky rubber pads under it to hold it still while flipping the levers. Also chasing the balls that go over the wall can be a lot of work so playing on the floor helps or try to find another way to trap the over shot balls. This game is a crowd pleaser for both kids and adults. It is a great way to enjoy some quality family time together. The sturdy construction ensures hours of playing time.My kids just love to play this old school game.Just goes to show you that the simple games are still the best! Our grandkids love playing BasKet with their Pop Pop.The two year old can even flip the basket in the net!The four and five year old boys have spend many hours at the kitchen table together having tournaments. It reminds Pop Pop when he was a kid playing the same game. All in all, a fun game. This game is a blast to play. The contruction is stellar.Love the attention to detail and the sturdiness of the game.I give it 2 thumbs up.
Unique Art 21-Inch Tall Turquoise Blue Ocean Table Top Gemstone World Globe with Gold Tripod
The gemstones were fit together perfectly and I spent some time reviewing the fine craftsmanship. The brilliant shine to both the gold frame and the globe itself are far more striking in person than on the stock photos. The pictures on Amazon's site do not quite do this item justice. As with most items, I found Amazon's pricing competitive with their online competition.I would recommend this line of gemstone globes to anyone looking to make a purchase.

Rich Dad Cashflow 101 board game (with CD's)
What I like about this game is that it helps you to think "outside the box" in terms of investing and leveraging your energy. As a direct result of playing this game so much, I created an online business that is mostly passive and nets me $1,500 per month (I only need a few more deals and I'm out of the rat race!). From that perspective, it is well worth the $300 I paid for it years ago.
What I don't like about this game is that many of it's "opportunities" are get-rich-quick ideas that are so risky that anyone who can appropriately evaluate risk would run fast in the other direction! As a result of this "get-rich-quick" philosophy (that I bought into when I first began playing the game) I lost a year of my life and thousands of dollars to a bad business deal.
I also don't like that he's such a huge advocate for getting into debt (he would call it "leveraging your money"). This game highly rewards you for borrowing lots of money and offers an unrealistically low amount of penalties for taking those risks.
Basically, if you use ALL the same strategies in life as you do to win this game, you'll end up broke, in debt and possibly bankrupt. However, if you take the good and leave the bad, there are quite a few financial gems you can glean from this game.
I still play the game occasionally, but I now have a different real-life philosophy of debt (the borrow is servant to the lender). By the way, I highly recommend Dave Ramsey's financial material. He offers a much more sound "fail proof" system for building wealth.
I would only recommend this game to a friend if they had a solid foundation of how to handle money responsibly and I knew they wouldn't be lead astray by the faulty reward system promoted in this game. This is a response to Wild Rose's review below (which is about the electronic version, by the way) because I'm shocked by it.No, this game is not going to teach you the intricate details of investing that you'd find in formal training (and it does not teach to buy stocks first and then real estate they are merely different investing opportunities). However, it does highlight investment opportunities that most people never think of! It's a "game changer" (pardon the pun) in how you think and how you approach investing and what you can invest in.Most people are tied to the thinking that 401K's are their sole method to invest.Whoever's reading this comment, ask yourself, "What am I currently invested in?"I'd put money that 85-90% would only think of paper assets such as stocks and mutual funds. How's that investment strategy treating you right now? This game shows that there is so much more out there.Saying this game is not educational is flat-out ignorant. Is it expensive?Yes!Is it worth it?Depends on what you get out of it.

If you are thinking this is a game like Monopoly, where you sit down with the family and clown around for a little while, it is far too expensive for that. You will be disappointed. Also, so far as games go there is a lot of number crunching (mostly easy math but quite a bit of it) so a considerable portion of your time is re-calculating your expenses and income. If you view it like a fun little game you will think it is a total rip off. It is actually a financial simulation and in my opinion really helps you understand money better.
It follows real life pretty well (not great.) It needs a few tweaks considering the date it was designed for and the fact that we might not know how to perceive if an opportunity is really as good as it appears. Opportunities and jobs these days are much more difficult to come by, but it is still very practical considering most people's comprehension of money.
Replay value is pretty good. I found myself waking up in the middle of the night saying "if I did this, then it would change that," and then I would want to play again to see if I could get it to work.
All in all I think it is a pretty good product and much more practical than just another book or seminar on finances because it is very hands on. It lets you understand what is going on considerably better than nodding your head as you skim chapters with fancy titles.

This game is very educational. It allows someone to understand the Real Estate World and how to create a passive income.I do wish that it were broken down so that a new person to Real Estate would understand that there are closing costs, an actual mortgage that is set up along with the deal, and some way of paying off each property as it is acquired so as to earn more passive income.CASHFLOW 101 WAS DEVELOPED BY RICHARD KIYOSAKI OF RICH DAD POOR DAD FAME. HIS GOAL IS TO TEACH ADULTS HOW TO GET OUT OF THE RAT RACE WE KEEP CIRCLING AROUND IN AND THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX TO MAKE WISE FINANCIAL DECISIONS THAT WOULD LEAD US TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM. I RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE 17 AND OVER UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE NOT TAUGHT THIS STUFF IN SCHOOL, BUT THE MOST SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE LEARNED IT.I ONLY GAVE IT 4 STARS FOR "FUN" BECAUSE IT IS A LOT OF WORK TO START OUT...BECAUSE WE DON'T YET KNOW THE PRINCIPLES OF HOW TO GET OUT OF THE RAT RACE, YOU PLAY THE GAME IN THE SAME OLD CIRCLE AND GETTING NO WHERE, LIVING PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK, FEW OPPORTUNITIES. WE FOUND OUR FIRST GAME DAUNTING AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP TRACK OF EVERY PENNY.IT'S WORK MORE THAN IT IS FUN, BUT THAT'S THE POINT. IT TAKES WORK TO LEARN HOW TO CHANGE YOUR FINANCIAL THINKING AND THUS YOUR FINANCIAL LIFE.WHEN OUR FIRST GAME WAS OVER, ALL SIX OF US SAID....WELL, I DON'T THINK THAT WAS "FUN", MORE LIKE A MENTAL WORKOUT...BUT AT LEAST I KNOW WHAT CHOICES I MADE THAT WERE WRONG AND WHAT I WOULD DO NEXT TIME.WE HAVE JUST PLANNED OUR SECOND (GAME)TRAINING.
