After borrowing their cues for the first two months, I finally sprang for my own cue and bag.

This cue works great for that, the tip was great, my friend who's played for a few years was impressed at that.

And since it doesn't break the bank,I don't feel bad if I forget it in the cold of my car at the end of the night.

Nice product for the price.Please take your time putting it together.Definitely go EASY screwing the screws in, because it only takes an extra twist...well, you now have warped that area.The kids loved it.

The sidewall was cracked on arrival.The screws were rusted.It took 4 hours to assemble with very poor instructions and cheap materials.The seller was Plumstruck.Plumstruck offered to replace the item but required disassembly and shipping it back to them which would then require re-assembly of the replacement.Plumstruck would not compensate for all that extra work which I should not have had to undertake.They would only offer a 10% credit if we did not return the item.I would not recommend buying this product or anything from this Plum Struck.Very poor and unreasonable service.

Two screws came stripped. we had to tape the figures because the screws did not hold. The first time I called the company, they said there is nothing they can do about it. The second time I called, they said that if I pay for all the expensess, they will try to get the parts. What a chutzpah!

We ordered this foosball table during the summer and placed in the basement of our vacation home.Somewhat difficult to assemble.Once we started using it we discovered it was a bit flimsy.The table got worse as it got played more.The plastic corner pieces and pvc tubes fall off routinely with normal play.The table wobbles significantly.Poor design and construction.Looks nice, plays poorly.Afraid that it will totally fall apart soon. Does not "pack heavy gaming potential" as stated in the product page.

We contacted the seller and asked to return and upgrade to a better model.They responded by saying they had a 30 day return policy, so we not willing to work with us.

Do not recommend this product.

What would you call a word search game that is not just a puzzle, but a deeply engaging, and often laugh-provoking contest for 2-4 players? How about if it were not played with paper and pencil at all, but on a board a very cleverly designed board that reveals the words you are searching for one at a time, and the first person who can find that word must be the first to squeeze a very silly noise maker, and only then can use her own contact-lens-like plastic chips to cover each letter in that word, every letter being connected in a straight line exactly as you would expect in a word search puzzle? And, to top it all off, what if, when the line in which that word was found crosses a word that another player had already created, that player's chips were removed from the board, and, should that result in another word that is already claimed to suddenly become incomplete, those chips as well were to be removed? So that you can never really tell who is winning, even though you might be 40 chips ahead of everyone else, until the very end of the game?

You'd call it two things. You'd call it Wordquest, because that's the name of the game. And the other thing you'd call it would be Major FUN, because it's exactly the kind of game the Major FUN award was designed for.

Like almost every game published by Goliath, every aspect of the game is designed for ease of use and long-lasting fun. Each of the 20, differently-themed word search puzzles is printed on a large, laminated disc. The disc is mounted on a round base. A transparent grid provides concave receptacles for the transparent, concave, playing chips. Because the chips and the receptacles are both concave, it is extremely easy to use a finger tip to place and remove them during play. A mounting ring fits on top of the grid and covers all the target words. Rotating the ring reveals each word to be found. Zip-lock baggies are provided for the chips, and four pits surround the playing area so that the chips are easily accessible during play. At the end of the game, everything fits back in the box with ease.

Being able to remove words that the opponents have already scored is probably one of the most compelling of all the clever mechanics that have gone into making Wordquest as fun as it is. Though there is no strategy involved in playing the game, when you successfully cross words with another player you get the same sense of smug superiority as you would if your victory were actually justified.

And then there's that squeaky, exclamation-mark-like thing that you use to announce that you've been the first to find a word. It makes such a perfectly silly sound that it's almost hard to take it seriously, even if you're the one who didn't find the word.

Younger children who are old enough to successfully solve word search puzzles might have difficulty with the small chips and the competitive aspect of the game. We'd recommend it to families with kids who are old enough to appreciate both. And, of course, to anyone who likes the visual and conceptual challenge of word search puzzles. Even if you don't like word search puzzles.

If you like wordfind books, then you'll love this game.It's challenging and different than most other board games.It's not a game I'd play for a long period of time, but would probably stop playing after complete one round.However, my friends who have played it like it.I recommend it as something different, and it's fun for all ages.

I ordered the rectangular version of this table and chairs set even after reading the other reviews.This was after my husband said that he could get it together no problem.When the table and chairs arrived my husband was busy, so I tried putting everything together.I had a hard time getting all the screws in and was close to stripping the heads as well.My husband helped me out.He backed out all the screws, applied soap to them as lubrication (i.e., from a bar of bath soap) and screwed them back in.The table and chairs are as sturdy as can be and the quality of wood is wonderful (especially for the price...most sets I looked into were in the $300 to $500 range).I would recommend this product.

For reference, we had considered a $40 set from Ikea and a $250 set from PBKids.I am so glad we went with this! I love that the table and chairs are all solid wood.No cheap veneers to hide MDF or particle board!I also was pleased to find out this wood is not raw, but has a thin clear finish [and not a thick polyurethane coating--different pictures on different sites make it hard to determine].It seems like I could use tung oil in the future or another natural wax if the finish wears away, but it might take years; it looks that durable! The box corner was smashed when we received it, but the contents were unharmed. The box was not that heavy, but I unloaded it at the front door anyway. There was a wood smell, but no chemical varnish/adhesive smell as with other furniture we've purchased.One of the table top slats had some stain that looked like sun-bleaching, but this is for a kid's room and will soon be covered by books or crayon or paint, so I'm not worried, and it's not that noticable. FYI, the "shelf" is not open the entire width of the top. It is mounted to the cross supports, so there are 4 wedge-shaped shelf sections between the legs.As for ease of assenbly, when I tried to attach the second table leg, I couldn't get the screw in and I thought, "Oh no, here we go... just like those other reviews about holes not lining up...", but as it turns out, my 2 year old "helper", shoved some dowels [for the chairs] in there, so the assembly really was a cinch once I distracted him with another project!The table and chairs are slightly too big for the 2 year old, but he can still climb on and off the chairs easily [the table reaches his mid-chest while seated].I know he'll get many years of use. Mommy and daddy can fit on the chairs too!The round shape is great for smaller spaces [compared to a square].I recommend you buy before they discontinue this solid wood set!

Two of the 4 chairs we purchased broke within 2 years of purchase.They were only used by children under 8 years old and weren't thrown across the room or jumped on by monkeys.They split apart generally starting by the drill holes.

The table has never been completely stable.Didn't notice this until we installed wood floors.The table rocks back and forth.I trace this problem to the mismatch between screw lengths and screw holes mentioned by others.

Could have been a lot better, they do look great and are perfect size for the under 10 set.But they just don't last.

I ordered this for my son who will be 2 in march. I love this set. It's very sturdy my son likes to stand on the table and jump. The chairs support a full grown adult with no problem. It looks very high quality better than the products you would get at your regular local stores. Also, I painted the top of the table with chalkboard paint and it went on smoothly. I'm planning on buying 2 more chairs. I don't remember having problems with putting this together. The chairs were especially easy to put together.

I bought this desk for my 7-year-old daughter and she absolutely loves it!

I bought the desk, the book-shelf (which clamps on to the back of the desk), and the chair. The materials are very solid (and somewhat heavy). It didn't take long to assemble it but make sure you don't mix up the screw sets (which I did initially and had to disassemble).

The desk really is well-designed and looks great. The whole set wasn't cheap (for me) but it's definitely worth the investment.

POOF-Slinky 35000 Ideal Electro Shot Shooting Gallery Tabletop Game

As a kid, I had the Marx Electro-Shot Shooting Gallery and it was one of my all-time favorite toys.I decided to recreate the magic with my six year old boy this Christmas and get a Shooting Gallery for him.This product, the Electro Shot Shooting Gallery, was the only one I could find that was similar, so "Santa" brought him one this Christmas.

After assembling the toy and adding 4 "C" batteries, my boy and I got ready to play.We turned the "gun" on, and nothing.Right out of the box, it didnt' work.Having nothing to lose, I took it apart and found that one of the two metal strips that's supposed to connect the battery compartment to the gun compartment was misassembled and pinned beneath a piece of the plastic frame.Ergo, no power to the gun.A minute later, I'd repaired the piece and we turned the gun on.

The gun worked fine for about 10 seconds, and then jammed.I recall my old electro-shot jamming occasionally, so I followed the instructions to clear the jam.It worked fine again for about 20 seconds, and then jammed again.Although the gun is capable of working for a minute or so without jamming, it jams a lot more than my old toy did.It doesn't matter whether you're firing single shots or have it set to full automatic, it jams fairly often.Fast forward a day.The gun seemingly won't turn-on again.I jiggle around and find that the gun will only work if you hold it in a certain angle ... otherwise no power.I take it apart apart again, but I can't seem to make it work any better, even after closely examining all of the electrical strips.I'm not impressed at all with the build quality of this toy and I doubt it will last a month before it breaks completely.

The targets are ok, but are not as interesting as on the old Marx Electro Shot.There aren't as many "wow" targets ... a few spinners and the like, a few holes to shoot into that so the bb's drop down onto another item, and a wind-up duck shooting gallery (the best target in the toy).

Overall, the toy is a moderate amount of fun when it works.However, it only works haphazardly, and the fact that I've already had to take it apart twice in three days doesn't speak well for the future.Two stars.

UPDATE:Well, it's dead Jim. It lasted less than a week before the gun refused to fire anymore.I changed out the batteries (the old ones still tested out at about 70 percent power, but I changed them anyway), examined everything I could, but nothing would entice the toy to work again.I guess you really can't go home again.I'm downgrading my rating to one very disappointed star.

I had one of these 40 years ago, it was a blast to play with then, and it is now as well. We got it for christmas in 09, and it's still going strong. Hasn't missed a beat.

Lipper International 534C Child's Rectangular Table and 2-Chair Set, Cherry

A short video review.Definitely read the description and other reviews carefully before buying.Lipper fully discloses the size of the table as well as the seat height to the table height.Some reviewers said their 2-3 year olds like the table, but I see this as more of a child's set than a toddler set.We had to go through two sets as the first set came incomplete and badly packaged, along with damage to the corner of the tabletop.It almost looked like someone returned it, and it was reshipped either by Amazon or Lipper.In this video, you'll see some issues we had with what we thought was pretty poor quality (drilling a hole, then redrilling and covering up the initial mistake), a slight wobble (annoying to the anal like my husband!) and differences in chairs in case you are considering buying additional chairs.I hope this helps!Overall, the product I'd rate 3 stars, but quality control seems poor enough to rate it two stars not fun for your frustration level if you get a bad set and BOTH our sets had issues.

We got this table as a gift for our son two years ago when he was three. It is a wonderful table!

I'm impressed with how strong and sturdy it is. I frequently sit at the table with my son while we work on projects and feel perfectly comfortable putting my full weight (I'm not a small person) onto the chair. As a matter of fact, we routinely use the chair as a "step-stool" to get things off of his high shelves. The chairs set firmly on the floor -I can't remember anyone ever falling over in one. It gets used on a regular basis and I haven't noticed any scratches or scuffs. (We have the Pecan finish.) It is also quite attractive with a classic simple design. My son especially likes the little shelf area under the table-top where he stores his markers and drawing paper. I like that it blends nicely with our other Craftsman style furniture and does not look cheap. I put the table together by myself with no problems and two years later have never had to tighten any of the bolts.

I would agree with some of the reviewers that this table is more to scale for a primary-school age child and not so much for a toddler. But personally I like the size. Although his feet didn't touch the floor while sitting in the chair when he was three, my son was still able to get on and off the chairs by himself and we won't need to replace it later because it is too small. In my opinion, it is the perfect "in between" size to grow with my son.

One suggestion I do have is to purchase some of those felt pads for the bottom of the chair and table legs. We have hardwood floors and the chairs get skidded around quite a bit and scratched the floor before I was able to put pads on them.

This is a great table and chairs set.It is solid wood, sturdy, and nice looking.It is also a good height for my 6 year old and will last probably until she is ten or so.It is tall enough that I am comfortable sitting at it with her to play games.Putting it together was fairly easy as long as you have muscles, because you have to screw the bolts in really tight and it is tough!My husband did it.The chairs are really easy to put together.

I would have given it 5 stars but for three things:

1.The screws stand out because they are metal and are not hidden at all.

2.The cubbies are a strange size they don't really fit standard paper, we'll use the cubbies for bins of crayons, markers, etc.

3.Mine came with a small scratch on the tabletop not bad enough to send back, but annoying.

We were not planning on ordering the extra chairs, but we've changed our minds they will actually fit side by side on the long side. You could have 6 chairs fit around this table if you needed it.This will also be nice to use during dinners with family and friends for the kids table.The cherry finish is really pretty you won't regret buying it.

Assembling the table requires attaching 4 legs with 2 screws each.Unfortunately, the screw holes are not properly drilled, so the screws get stuck about halfway through.

When I complained, Lipper kindly sent me another table, which had the same issue.

Perhaps the problem can be solved with a drill, which I don't own, but that's more assembly than I expect from premade furniture.

The shelf on the first table was slightly off kilter as well, an issue I probably would live with if I could assemble the table.

Compare it to your average fold up card table with a much nicer top made of a material suitable for playing ping pong. However, if you are considering the price being a great deal because of the extras, forget it.I received one pair of paddles that were decent, and one pair of paddles with a 1 2 inch handle.Not even my 10 year old could comfortably hold it or play with it. I thought it was a defect.The ping pong balls are hollow thin plastic like something you would win at chucky cheese.They cracked if hit to hard and barely bounced. I think two balls were decent because it was very clear that the balls were not all of the same quality. Contacted seller and they were fully aware of the paddles being different sizes.Ultimately, I was instructed to return entire package (which would result in me paying for shipping) or go buy new paddles.Seller would not credit me for either.So I suggested they change the description of the item so someone would know what they were getting and they said they would.Consider all of this as you factor in the price.Or purchase from someone else.Anyone can buy $1 roll of wrapping paper.

The surface of this table is not a hard table tennis surface, with the result that the balls hardly bounce on it.I will be returning it.

I have tried nine other Texas Hold Em programs, and Master Poker is by far the best.The computerized opponents have individualized and complex playing styles (no cheesy animated characters, just player names marking the seats, thankfully).The designer Scott Eckert certainly met his primary objective to create the first truly intelligent poker AI.With Master Poker you feel like you are playing against a variety of experienced human players, not the easily predictable opponents I have encountered with every other Texas Hold'em program that I have used.

There is a great range of flexibility and customization possible with Master Poker... it truly helps you become a better player.

The software is compatible with Windows 2000 / NT / Me / 98 / XP and Vista.I recently upgraded to a Dell Studio 540 with Intel Core Quad Q8200, 64 bit Vista OS, and Master Poker runs wonderfully, just as it did on my previous XP machine.

Given all of this, is there any room for improvement?Yes, but not much.Master Poker was designed for 800X600 monitor resolution, so most users will have to choose either to reset their monitor's resolution or play with a window that fills about a two thirds of their monitor. I don't mind the smaller screen size, but a you might want to make the easy adjustment to 800X600 resolution to more thoroughly enjoy the cardroom environment choices included with the program. Be sure to unlock your task bar if you use the 800X600 setting. The smaller, higher resolution window is not a problem, just a small thing that could be improved.

Master Poker is a powerful, well-written program that comes the closest to playing a real game that I have found.

It would still be a tremendous value at twice the price.If you enjoy Texas Hold'em, do not hesitate in purchasing Master Poker.

I started looking for a way to learn how to play better No-Limit Holdem. I continually lose more than I win be it playing in my local game with friends or on line. Friends had me try their software programs. Those seemed like I was playing games rather than they were trying to teachme anything. I bought this program after finding it on an internet search and figured what the heck I lost this much in the first half hour on Ultimatebet.

I'm not that good at computer programs but this one walked me through it. You would think you are playing in a real game online. You can speed up the play. Make the players have more skill level. and best of all for me was how you can see if you are a wimp or an agressive player. Come to find out I was a wimp. There is a percentage count on how you play your hands. You can see if you are letting other players bet you out of hands when you should be the agressive one and also if you are betting on bad cards in the wrong position. The best feature I have found is the help balloon your can activate if you want to see what you should or should not do at your table position when its your turn to come in. I like to play sit and gos online and this program makes it feel real so I can learn and enjoy playing at the same time. I have not tried all the tricks on this program but I do know that since I have started playing with Master Poker I'm winning more than losing online.

Make no mistake If you are looking for a training device to better yourself at No Limit Texas Holdem, then Master Poker is the program you need. It doesn't have fancy animated characters that eat up your computer resources, but it does have good, clean graphics, adjustable, fast play, and top-notch AI competition which are incredibly realistic and unpredictable.

I ordered Master Poker on the Friday of a holiday weekend, and received it from clear across the country in the Tuesday mail delivery. Installation was smooth and easy. There are 12 "Cardroom Location" background graphics, 4 "Table colors", and 7 "Deck styles", which keep the game visually appealing. There are four "User Skill Levels" so the player is not overwhelmed at first, and the difficulty can increase throughout the training. "General Preferences" allows adjustment on speed of play, and amount of game advice. My favorite is the option that immediately "zips" to the end of a hand when my hand is folded.

"Game Study Options" includes a very good "Starting Hand Guide" which offers solid advice based on your hand, position, and chip stack. Though it advises a tighter game than I generally play, the advice is thorough and well reasoned. "Board Observer" warns of dangerous situations after the flop, like potential straights and flushes, with different signals based on the severity of the threat. Other options allow you to review what everyone was holding after the hand plays out, display pot odds, show all winning hands, and to record every hand you play.

"Handicapping Options" can let you see the AI personality (Tough, Aggressive, or Dead Money), allow peeking at AI cards, activate the "Rabbit Camera" (which allows peeking at what would have been the next card after folding), never increase blinds, and never go broke. I don't use sound when I play, but there is also a menu for the various sounds of the game.

There a four game types:

1) Multi-table Tournament This is the main purpose of the program. It comes with over 40 tournament structures, including 11 WSOP events. These have various blind and ante structures, and adjustable entry fees, number of tables (6-500), starting chip stacks, hands per level, percentage of "dead money" players verses solid players, number of players per table, and whether rebuys or add ons are allowed. It is completely customizable, including blinds, and I have created structures which exactly match the various local tournaments I compete in.

2) Sit and Go This is a one table tournament, also known as a "Satellite".

3) Survivor This is a one table tournament where you see how long you can survive against ever increasing blinds, and an infinite number of opponents. (Each opponent is replaced as soon as he busts.) There is never a winner, just an exercise in survival.

4) Cash Game Single table, played just like at your local casino or card room.

The Program also keeps histories of all your play, keeping track of your average finish rank, number of titles you win, how many times you are in the money, your expenses, prize money, net income or loss, and more. I found out that I finish highest in the tournaments where I play between 25-30% of the hands dealt.

Master Poker is a gem. It includes even more features than I have reviewed here. It is clearly the best poker simulation I have ever encountered. It is worth the price paid.I have no relationship with the company or the programmer, I just love this program. Buy it.

I have been playing poker since 1967, when as a child I was fascinated by the game and the claim that it was a game of skill when externally it exhibited all the hallmarks of a luck. I have read almost every book of merit on the game. From Herbert Yardley's "Education of a Poker Player" to Doylee's monumental tombs "Super System 1 and 2".

As the years passed, I improved my game plugging every leak I could find. Either by myself or through advice and watched my youthful misconceptions regarding the amount of luck required diminish as though I had looked the in the wrong end of a telescope.

With the advent of the computer age Iplayed just about all of the computerized poker programs of merit in search of a sparring partner that would hone my already reasonably sharp game. Sadly, even though they put me through the motions I never found a program I could not get the hang of both consciously and intuitively and in the end conclusively beat, I've whooped them all.

That was until I decided to buy "Master Poker" after looking and thinking to myself "Nah, its just another computer poker game I'll trample. I could not have been more completely incorrect.

It is the finest game of its type I have come across in 40 years of play. At first I bullied my way up to $2500 and thought "bummer, another predictable bunch of victims", but at that point things began to change drastically. The artificial opponents started to get my measure and to my astonishment and the chagrin of my ego , I started going backwards; quickly. They began playing back at me with the finesse of serious professionals, and I knew I had found a program different from the rest and of serious value to any player wishing to improve, and my first online game after a week with the program, I doubled up my stack in an hour. Not only this, but program never hangs or shuts down the operating system.

I am a perfectionist and generally, nothing ever comes up to my expectations. I cannot say this in reference to Master Poker software. It excelled my expectations in every regard and earned its price back first game.

I sincerely, and without reservation or encumbrance of any description endorse Master Poker as the finest thing of its type available. Even experts will have their muscles hyper-flexed.

If you are serious about improving your game either to raise your hourly rate or just want the most realistic partners for those long winter nights your wife has a headache, you would be insane to be without it.

I have to give the man his due, it is every bit as good as claimed and perhaps a little a better. Practice with Master Poker software and you will be a winner; period.

Kidkusion Table Kushion

This product is great--I put it on my black coffee table and it looks good.Most people don't even notice it until they get up close to it.

My problem with this product is that not enough double-sided tape is provided to utilize the entire length of the cushion material.And we aren't talking short by a few inches, we are talking REALLY short on the tape--I only received enough tape to secure a little more than 1/2 of the cushion material.I didn't go overboard on the tape--I followed the directions explicitly.Luckily I had bought 2 packages so I had enough tape to finish my coffee table, but now I have a bunch of leftover cushion material and no tape to secure it to any other furniture in my house.The double-sided tape provided is very thin and probably won't do as much damage to furniture as the thicker tape you'd find at a hardware store.I couldn't find the same tape that came with the product anywhere, so I'm stuck with a bunch of extra cushion material.

Subject item "Kidkusion off white table cushion, Off White": Only the Cushion is O.K. There is not enough double-sided tape included in the package.Also, Corners and the 2 sides do not fit for most of table.In addition, actual size is little big smaller than "Prince Lionheart Table Edge Guard with 4 Corners". If you want better quality with enough double-sided tape, I would recommend "Prince Lionheart Table Edge Guard with 4 Corners" I have purchased these several times and these work much better.Worth the price.

The tape that holds the bumper in place does not hold well at all. I used the bumper on my coffee table which started to come apart on the 3rd day. The corners lasted a little longer 2 weeks to be exact. Then my 11 months old daughter easily removed the corners pieces from the furniture edges. The product does not serve it's purpose since it does not hold well in place.

Step2 Flip and Doodle Easel Desk with Stool

My 4 1/2 yr old has this and it is the best ever! We debated over the larger step 2 art desk, but this is perfect (and cheaper to boot). It is not too big, very durable plastic. There are no hinges to break..the easel has plastic knobs that rotate in a groove. Only a few screws for assembly. The dry erase board only requires a tissue for erasing, and is MAGNETIC! Lots of storage space and a place for books in back. The easel tilts downward when flat, but there are grooves for the pens/markers to sit in so they don't roll (i think it tilts for ease of the child to see their work). I definitely recommend for anyone! And my 4 yr old will be able to use for quite some time. The stool is sturdy as well.

My two year old son loves this product. It's a little big for him to use as a desk right now so he uses the easel. Overall I'm also very happy with the product but have two complaints.

Although the instructions are very easy to read I was bothered by the fact that the instructions left out where the long and short screws go. I'm not saying it wasn't a breeze to put together but I had to remove the four long screws from the top of the desk when I realised they should have been used for the legs.

I also think the clip that holds the paper onto the whiteboard could be a little stronger. I don't know if it's just the one I have and it won't be a problem when my son is older. But right now he's a very energetic artist and he tends to pull the paper out of the clip when he's drawing.

Other than that my son absolutely loves it and I think it will be great for him for a very long time.

Don't get me wrong it is adorable, sturdy, and even I didn't have much of a problem putting it together.

The problem is that it really is for more of the 4+ age range.At the age of 2 my daughter was scared to sit on the stool because she would tip it over or slide off.And at least 3 small children have been smacked over the head by the 'flip table'.

My biggest issue with the age range is the storage.It is great, there is a LOT of storage, and I can't wait to use it.But if you have little kids (again, under 4ish) there is no way you can leave stuff in this desk.Markers? Scissors? Pens? All 2 feet off the ground for little hands to get whenever? No way. =D

Just something I thought people may want to keep in mind when looking at little desks!

Bought this for my 19-month old daughter, so she could learn to doodle on there instead of everywhere else...love the fact that the doodling board is also magnetic, so I can put those fridge magnetic alphabet letters on there to teach her as well.

Love all those storage bins, they definitely help keep things organized.

One small complaint...would like it better if the book shelf is on the sides instead of the back (why leave the sides empty?). I have it against a wall, so with the shelf on the back makes it useless...unless we move the entire thing out each time she needs a book...so her books end up in the larger bins at the bottom instead, which means one less storage item...

Holy COW!!! there are a lot of tiny parts here. and a lot more then just mini FIGURES. there are ducks and roosters and a couple ox and a horse. they pretty much thought of everything for a village with a market square. this looks a lot like a smaller version of my home town farmers market.

there is a blacksmith here too to make the weapons to sell to the guards. a working water wheel to help the smithy

and in the center of town is a giant tree!!!

they have thought of everything here, right down to the posies, and carrots to feed the horse.

there is more color here then the grand carrosel and it is more durable then it too.

this isn't QUITE my favorite lego set (the imperial flagship) but it is up there in the top five. i will have to look into more of the castle sets

My son got this for his 9th birthday. He is a huge lego fan and this is the biggest set I have purchased for him so far. It took him about 6 hours to build this one and he is really proud of it. He says it has the best accessories ever, he is really into all of the special little pieces always included with the lego sets. Definitely a good purchase for the money and it arrived just in time.

Back in the 1980s, I was (a) rather smaller than I am today, and (b) totally obsessed with LEGO. I especially loved the medieval-themed LEGO sets, because knights are cool and I have a fondness for history. But even then, it bothered me that the medieval LEGO sets almost always consisted of castles, castles, and more castles (with the occasional catapult thrown in for good measure). I longed to build a huge medieval *village* for all these castles to protect; and here, a mere 30 years too late, is the village set that I craved as a child.

Well, I guess it's a bit much to call this set a whole village's worth of LEGO. It consists of a tavern, a blacksmith's shop/stable, and a food vendor, so it's really more like a town square. But the buildings are wonderfully detailed and colorful, and if you arrange them carefully you can create the impression of a vibrant community. It helps that the set comes with a fairly generous compliment of LEGO minifigures and animals, including some very peculiar chickens. (Almost unbelievably, it also comes with what appear to be two LEGO "turds," which you're supposed to put on the floor of the stable!)

Building the set will be challenging for LEGO newcomers as there are a lot of pieces, many of them teeny-tiny. As is typical of LEGO, the pieces come in various bags that are not numbered or arranged in any kind of order; you'll need to open all the bags right away, dump their contents in piles, and hunt from pile to pile for the pieces you need at each step. This approach may annoy some people, but for me it's part of the fun and challenge of building a LEGO set.

In the final analysis, I think this is one of the best LEGO products out there. It has a level of detail and "class" that's missing from simpler sets, though it's perhaps not quite as nice as the expensive city sets like the Corner Cafe and the LEGO Emporium. Since LEGO sets have a tendency to drop out of circulation (and increase in price), I'd recommend picking this up ASAP if you're interested; and Amazon's current price of around $100 is indeed pretty good (I paid about $10 more for this at the LEGO store in Rockefeller Center).
