Ravensburger Labyrinth

This is a fabulous game!First of all, the game mechanic is so simple, anyone can learn how to play it in less than a minute. So whenever I have friends who aren't into boardgaming over at my house, I pull this one out.

At the beginning of the game, you deal out treasure cards. The aim of the players is to reach the tile on which the treasure is printed. You do this by pushing tiles. As the players push the tiles the layout of the labyrinth changes. You can play this game with two to four players. With two players, it's more strategic since you have to worry about getting your treasures and preventing the other player from getting his. With larger number of players, the game becomes more chaotic and exciting because the labyrinth will be completely different by the time you get your turn again.

Basically, you should get this game. The simple gameplay combined with a high level of replayability makes this a must-have boardgame.

This strategy game is one of the best birthday presents my children ever got. You can play once or several times, and never grow tired of the game, as each set of mazes is different than the last.

Playing is a fabulous way to spend an afternoon or evening with your children. The game requires non-verbal skill and logic, but is fun as heck. Very often, the children do better than the grown-ups.

Highly recommended.

We love this game.It makes you think, so it keeps us all interested. This is one of the few games that we all enjoy playing together because it is challenging enough for our overachieving 8-year old, and also interesting for our 6-year old.It is difficult to find games that do all that these days, because the 6-year old is refusing to learn how to read well enough to be able to enjoy "older kid" games, and we have all become bored with the "little kid" games. This game requires no reading, which (obviously) is a plus for us right now.

I have never written a review -I don't ever want to take the time to do it, but I simply must give my two cents worth on this one.I am buying a couple for gifts -it is AMAZING.I am a game-a-holic and fortunately I have two boys (ages 7 and 9) who play games with me.This is by far one of our favorites. They like it for the "treasure hunt" factor... I like it for the strategy and the durability. It definitely requires some strategy to find your way to your destination, but my 7 year old can beat me MANY times -and I'm trying my best!I think it is simply brilliant, and I HIGHLY recommend it.The only negative thing I can think of is that because the board folds in half, it is tricky to slide the pieces over the "hump" the fold creates. This is a minor drawback -not worth skipping the purchase.I can't say enough great things about this one.There.I've written a review.

This game deserves all of the 5 star reviews. The concept is simple, the execution is nearly flawless, the possibilities are endless.

Each player's task is to work their way around the board to find treasures. The only problem is, the paths around the board shift on every move. You might be one space from your treasure at the end of your turn, then find yourself on the other side of the board on the next turn. Conversely, there is often a path from one corner of the board to the diagonal opposite corner for a clever player to discover.

With three or more players, cooperation comes into play. "I'll help you if you help me," becomes a strategy to beat another player who has gotten ahead. This can get very interesting, as players can use their move to block other players instead of getting themselves closer to their goal.

Overall, a family winner.

Scrabble Onyx Edition

Finally, a Scrabble game worthy of putting on my modern glass coffee table.Although many versions of the game look fantastic, such as the "deluxe" or the "$1000 franklin mint version", the natural wood doesn't fit for everyone.Looks of the Onyx version are sleek and elegant, and you can read the bonus squares better than on any version; not to mention the black/silver tiles are extra sleek.

Looks aside, the feel is solid, the board has a smooth turn. The tiles fit very snug in the raised dividers. The height of the board is a silly reason to give this 1 or 2 stars. It definitely looks better flush, and puts the board lower if you play sitting on the ground at a coffee table as I do.You can put your tile holders off to the side so they don't get hit.Every version of Scrabble I've ever owned didn't have sides on the holder (including some past deluxe versions).Again, a non-issue.Learn to be less clumsy. The board is built very well. Also, marking this board down for not including a distribution list is the one of the silliest things I've ever read in a review. It's like not having a hand-chart included with your poker set. You can print one off if you really want.Besides there are two charts facing opposite on the board in plain view.

Three minute timer with black sand is a nice extra. The score book is VERY nice, and comes with matching pencil which stores in the book binding. The black velvet bag is a nice size, and really allows you to shake and randomize tiles.

I also recommend the Onyx Edition Scrabble Dictionary. It matches beautifully, and it is the newest fourth edition that includes such words as Qi.

I have to say theprice is exceedingly high, and is not considered in my rating, as I did not get this from

I made a short video review of the Scrabble Onyx Edition and the extra goodies it comes with. It's no Franklin Mint edition, but it is a really nice product which will continue to look nice for years to come.Worth the investment if you're looking for something unique and a little more professional looking than the original deluxe version. It also has a solid piece board which will not wear out over time from folding which is a huge bonus in my opinion.

Buy Scrabble Onyx Edition Now

I have to say my first impression of this scrabble board is "disappointing." It's honestly not any improvement over the standard board with raised squares and a rotating base. It's pretty much the same thing with a different color scheme so it's almost insulting that they charge [so much] for this. Even though I got mine for half that I still think I paid way too much.

On top of that, the quality of the board isn't that good. The silver overlay sticker was laid on slightly crooked and the base is noisy when turned and doesn't rotate smoothly. the first thing i saw when I opened it was a nick in the wood trim around the board, and overall the entire thing is much cheaper and flimsier than it's made out to be in the pictures and description.

skip this and go with one of the cheaper models or spend your money on one of the deluxe wood ones.

I have owned just about every versions of SCRABBLE ever produced. So, of course, when this Onyx version came out, it went on my gotta have list.

While it works and is very nice looking, the biggest issue was the glare off of the silver/foil background on the board. It made it difficult to see the letters on the tiles once they were set down. My friends and I realized that we were squinting throughout the game, and after the 2-hour set, I had a mild headache.

The other issue was the fact that it does sit flush on the table and I used it on the coffee table, with narrow width. We had to hold our tile trays in our hands or risk knocking tiles off the trays.

After that night, I found that we all prefer to use one of the older sets on game night. So, the Onyx set went into the "donate" box.

Some people may like it. It just didn't work out for us.

I love Scrabble.

My Old 20+ year old version of Scrabble (with turntable base) was showing its age (and some tiles vanished over the years).

So I have been looking for a new Scrabble version!

What I looked for: I did not want the old folding board (the tiles don't stay put). So I wanted the divided style, like my old one. I loved the "idea" of a turntable, though my old one the turntable NEVER turned. Still i found the solid surface great on soft surfaces, like a bed, couch, rug etc.

I was thrilled to see so many versions available! Several turntables!! I hoped & expected the turntable had FINALLY been improved! I figured the tiles, too should be of classic scrabble quality. I saw this Onyx version, and fell in love! Beautiful! (note I saw it Online, and ordered it without seeing it up close & in personal).

What I Found:

the turntable, STILL does not turn! How disappointing.

the tile dividers, are shallow.. plus makes removing the tiles easier.. minus tiles not as secure.. but this is not a HUGE issue.

surface is "paper" somehow expected a nicer, permanent feel to the surface, instead the top looks like what you can find on an $8 version of this game.

the tiles: look like the letters are rub-on version.. not engraved. I am wondering how long the letters will stay on the tiles.. or in a few years will I have ALL blank tiles?? Wow how confusing will that be?

So I am painfully disappointed in this version. My rating is more or less average, since Scrabble will always be a favorite of mine.. i think the concept they came up with was promising, just failed in execution.. serious room for improvement. No Doubt this is not worth $50! Had I known more, i would not have paid over $30 tops.. and that I would still have to think about.

Russ Berrie Yomiko Lobster 14"

Realistic, soft, but the black coloration on the tail and appendages do look like smudges.

I initially thought this was a defect too (like the previous reviewer), so I contacted the merchant.

He confirmed that all of the ones in his inventory have the same appearance.

He said "it's just the coloration of the lobster".

(If you look closely at the Amazon photo you can see a little bit of it, but the black on the one I received is much more prominent).

The underside of the lobster is completely red, so it does seem clear that the black was intentional.

So I will keep it, confident that it is not dirt.

But I would have preferred it to be all red.

Received the toy and initially thought it was in good condition, but then noticed upon closer inspection that the appendages had black smudges. Not sure if that was from the packing or something else, but unsatisfactory nonetheless.

AMZ Replogle Orion 12" Black Illum Globe - 81501

• 12" Sphere Size
• Chic Black Ocean Style
• Brushed Silver Base and Meridian
• Illuminated
• Great for Home or Office

I am very sorry to write this negative review, but wish someone had, before I bought this globe.I have one, a Replogle 12" black background world globe, which I bought at an Antiques store.I LOVE it.I wanted this one, which appears to be identical (except for updating, of course) and is illuminated. So far, so good. However, much to my dismay, this globe does not 'tilt' on it's axis!Who wants a world globe that you can't tip and tilt and explore?I don't.For $85.00 Ithink they should include the extra 'tilt' bar!If not, I think they should state that in the description.I am editing this review because I don't want to be too harsh on the seller. He explained, (after a bad rating) why the globe does not have the 'rotating' function. It was MY mistake, in not doing more 'research' on Illuminated globes, I guess, but I still feel it should be mentioned in the description; especially given the cost of return shipping, and restocking fee. As the seller admitted, not everyone knows all about Globes, as he does. This Globe barely left the box before I saw my mistake; and it cost me apx. $30.that's a pricey mistake.

So, if you don't know about this, do some research!

Buy AMZ Replogle Orion 12" Black Illum Globe - 81501 Now

On the shelf above my desk hooked up to a foot switch I seven illuminated globes. Two illuminated constellation globes, Uncle Milton's "Moon in my room" with the guts ripped out and replaced with mini LEDs hanging on the wall, a medium sized antique-look globe, a five-inch blue physical relief globe, and now this globe. All but the five inch models run on LEDs so they pull under 10 watts total by the way. To modify this one for LED I had to find the smallest LED I could and shave a tiny bit off the edges of the bottom with a pocketknife by the way, but I'm trying really hard to stay on Al Gore's good graces and LEDs use less than half the juice of even CFLs.

This globe is the nicest of my collection by far, and the most unique globe I've ever seen. Almost the size of a beach ball, so there's room for all kinds of details on the globe, including stuff like prevailing ocean currents. It even comes with a booklet explaining longitude and latitude and such. Looks great in the dark. Of my three full sized illuminated globes (three are only five inches, the other two about eight inches), none of them have a tilt feature. They're positioned on the earth's standard axis, but no tilt and I think the wiring running through the base would preclude that option, so looking over what's currently the only other review I figured I'd add in yet another two cents on the point.

Looking over my reviews, someone left a comment describing the globe they received as paper that doesn't match evenly at the equator. Uneven quality or some other explanation springs to mind as an explanation, but looking at my globe closely it's unusual that the equator isn't covered by a band or tape layer like my other globes, though from any distance the slight gap looks just like an equatorial line. Looking over the whole globe closely my two printed hemispheres do meet precisely on each side of the equator.

I ordered this illuminate globe from Amazon.com and received it today. I really wanted to like this globe it was to be an integral part of my man cave décor.Unfortunately it is a disappointment and I am at a loss as to why it has so many positive reviews. It simply looks cheap.

Problem one:

The photo on Amazon inexplicably does not show this, but the power cord for the light in this globe does not come discretely out of the base of the globe, where it could be hidden by positioning.Instead it comes out of the bottom of the "C" support that suspends the globe above the base. This means that the power cord, no matter how you place the globe on your desk, will dangle several inches for all to see. Tacky. The illustration on Amazon has been 'doctored' to hide this.

Problem two:

the equatorial dividing line where the two hemispheres of the globe are joined, is very prominent when the globe is lit from the interior light. This simply looks like a seam that has not been joined in a craftsman like fashion.

There are also several minor blemishes which I could have lived with, but my main complaint is that this productis that it is not worth the asking price and I feel like I have been cheated.

Rolly Toys by Kettler Large Game Board

We had so much fun with this game at a resort that we had to buy it for our home. The pieces are durable, sturdy and waterproof. Our kids love to stand on the checkers while deciding where to move. Adults love to play too.The checker board is NOT included. I recommend the hard plastic snap together board over the fold up and steak down vinyl mat for durability, looks and ease of use while moving checkers/chess pieces around. Make sure to measure the area you want to place it because when layed out it takes up a lot of space. We are going to build a platform for ours.HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!WE DO!!!!!!!!

Barbie Collector Jonathan Adler Room Pack

This is one of the most fantastic collector pieces of furniture Mattel has ever produced, but the promo pictures do indeed differ from the finished product. The shoe pillow is switched with a pillow with glasses on it, and the black pillow with writing on it instead comes with a giant pink heart. They're also arranged differently on the couch, which is a problem because if you snip the threads holding the accessories in place, you'll never get them to sit correctly on the couch again.

While the blanket looks the same, the different pillows appear to be made from cheap acetate fabric, whereas promo photos would lead you to believe the pillows are made of more durable, higher quality fabric. I ordered mine direct from Mattel, so you'll get the same thing from Amazon that you would have gotten from the manufacturer.

The couch itself with the fabric, white piping and the overall finished piece are extremely nice and I would recommend this for any collector. I would however hope that future pieces not be hot pink (there's nothing wrong with pink, but there ARE other colors out there!). Four stars for the substitute pillows and hot pink-otherwise do something nice for your dolls and get this couch for your collection.

ETA: Check the comments below; apparently if you flip the pillows over, you get the patterns shown in the promo picture. The only caveat I would add to that is that the pillow fabric is VERY thin acetate, and I doubt if the flip sides could ever be made to look right. Thanks to BT for the info-I never would have thought to look at the undersides since the pillows are attached.

This couch is so cool! It is very good quality; a lot better than that cheap, plastic Barbie furniture. My daughter is going to love it for her dollhouse hat she is getting for Christmas. To bad Johnathan Adler dosen't make all kinds of barbie furniture for dollhouses. I have also ordered the doll that comes with the end table set. I can't wait to see it.

This is a soft fabric padded couch very much like a miniature of the real thing except that the real couch would have wood and this is very plastic. What you are paying for with the high cost is a very highly detailed and exception piece of furniture with which you can use for displays of your more expensive Barbies. The couch is large and likely not very useful for doll houses. But I have to admit I enjoy using it with some of my Gold Label Barbie displays.

If you have your adult collector Barbies displayed, you'll definitely want this couch. But I don't recommend it for kids or kids playsets due to the quality/high cost. The regular "Think Pink" Barbie furniture is more than suitable for children's playsets.

One problem with the companion Jonathan Adler Barbie Doll is that her legs don't bend (most of the model-barbies don't) so she won't sit on the actual. Was kind of disappointed with that.

I love this sofa. The quality is excellent, a lot better then the plastic furniture they have for Barbie, they really had the adult collector in mind with this. And I love that both of the pillows are reversible to cute. I hope Jonathan Adler makes more furniture for our Barbie friends.

I purchased this item as a last minute Christmas gift for my little girl. The order arrived with in 3 days with out special shipping.

I was very happy with the quality of the chair, the way it was packaged, and how quickly it was put together. It was very hard to see how the chair was structured from the pictures. I was surprised to see that the back was flat and not curved. The back also sat up a bit more strait than I thought it would. I was worried this might be hard to sit in, but it wasn't. I should mention that the rock of the chair was also even. All in all a very well made product.

Little Tikes School Bus Activity Gym

I bought this Little Tikes School Bus Activity Gym for a 1-year old's birthday. He loved it and "shared" with his 3-year old sister. He has been walking for about a month and already he was able to climb up to the first platform. When my children were growing up, we always had a Jr. Activity Gym in our family room to give our kids an acceptable place to climb. I was very excited to see the new design and activities on this bus!I have to say, I love the unique design of the bus as it allows for much imaginative play! Each wheel spins, while the bus remains stationary. As the wheel spins, it reveals different things, such as numbers and colors. The key comes partially out so the child can pretend to put it in the ignition and drive the bus!The horn beeps and steering wheel turns!Nothing like singing "The Wheels on the Bus" when you have a bus to sit in! Overall, I love the bus, but due to it's size, it will be heading outside for climbing fun! It's a nice size for two tots!

We bought this for my son's 2nd birthday. He has a thing for buses, so it was great. I have put together a lot of toys/furniture/etc. but I have never seen anything like this. Like everyone said, a lot of screws, no pre-drilled holes, complicated diagrams that were hard to follow. It took me, my husband, and father-in-law to push the items together, hold together, and screw together. Our set was missing a few long screws but had too many short screws. Once we were done (~1 hour later to screw together 6 things), my son did love it. He sits in all the time, goes down the slide, pushes toys down the slide, and plays pretend. So all the struggle was worth it but Little Tikes needs to do a better job with quality control.

Buy Little Tikes School Bus Activity Gym Now

It was HELL to assemble the toy. My husband spent three hours, got blood on his hands and calluses trying to screw a million of screws into the plastic. And at the end, there is not much to play with. From looking at the picture, I thought there would be a more sophisticated set up inside, like the wheel with multiple buttons, sounds etc, different knobs. NOPE. It has a key, that my kid broke in one day, a wheel with a horn that's not really appealing and a handle that goes up and down slightly so that it also provides no interest to my boy. The rest is a glue-on picture!!! My son has more fun climbing simple stairs.

I bought this for my 1 year old for his birthday for an indoor toy since it's so hot outside. He loves it and so does my 2 1/2 year old girl.BUTI will say it took forever to put this thing together. It seemed like some of the plastics were harder to drill into than others.Honestly, if I would have known how hard it was to get together I probably wouldn't have purchased it.

This oversized plastic playhouse was a pain to put together. What counted to be more than 20 screws that required a cordless drill and a hammer to get all the pieces together. Took over an hour to follow the 22 step instructions. Furthermore, there were no cutouts to put in the steering wheel nor the key in the instrument panel. Poor manufacturing and quality control! My son loves wheels so allowing them to 'spin' them is a small plus. Very small. I do not recommend this bus at all.

Replogle Globes Forester Globe, Antique Ocean, 9-Inch Diameter

Globe size is accurate. Detailing on the globe looks good from far but don't get too close because it looks really cheap. I also thought that the frame would be made of metal but it is plastic. Similarly the base is made of lightweight wood so the globe can tip over when being handled by children and requires two hands to turn it (one to hold the base and one to spin the globe.)

It is as advertised. It says the meridian is plastic right there in the description.People need to read and know what they are buying. It is not flimsy and doesn't look cheap at all.It looks very nice on my office desk and contrary to the opinion written earlier, does not require two hands to turn the globe.I personally tested this once I got mine and it turned very easily with one hand without using the other hand to support the base. The felt pads on the bottom of a solid wood base held it in place as the globe spinned.

Nice coloring, mimics topography, a legend for population centers, soft felt on the base to prevent scratches, and made very well for that price (aside from the taped line along the hemisphere, which is clearly visible in the photo).

4 stars from me.

My daughter age 8 asked for a ping pong table for Christmas and we have no room for a full size table. I found this one on Amazon and it is just what I was looking for. I looked at several others and decided on this one because of the three year warranty and it was metal which seemed more durable. It arrived in 2 days in good condition. It doesn't have anything to assemble, we were playing within 5 minutes. The actual Table folds like a suit case and has a zip pocket for paddles, ball and net (included). NABI FUHUNABI-A 7-Inch 4 GB Tablet

• Android 2.2 (Froyo)
• 0.5 GB DIMM
• 7-inch screen
• 5 hour battery life 802_11_BG wireless

It is true that the Nabi does not come with the Android Market installed. The reason for this is Google will not allow them to put the market on because they modified the interface to the kid friendly/safe interface. It is not because they do not want it on there. It is very easy to add, just watch this video: . Also to respond to the update being difficult, they will soon have a much easier update process but they wanted to get the update out quickly to help with some of the issues. I have 3 Nabis (one for each of my 4,6,and 8 yr olds) and have had them since Christmas and I love them. We have had no major issues with freezing or crashes and all of our three original chargers work fine. With any electronic device there will be a few with issues that need replacing or fixing (Go into an apple store and check out the line at their service desk). The customer service is great and you can get a ton of help and advice at their facebook page :

I love our Nabis and I am so confident in the product that I have talked several friends into buying them for their kids!

Our 3 and 1/2 year old loves playing our smart phones and our tablet computer, so we thought it would be great if we could get him his own kid centric tablet. We were excited that this seemed to be a "full featured" android table. So I got in line at Toys R Us at 5:00AM to get one of the few that were being sold and when I arrived home and opened it up, I was EXTREMELY disappointed to learn it isn't nearly what it advertised.

First, this is not a full featured android tablet. You DO NOT have full access to the android marketplace and many of the apps that our child loves playing on our smartphones (Zoodles for one) are not available and cannot be installed on this device.

Second (and even worse), on the front page of the kid's home page is the "App Store".This is the place where Nabi tries to sell additional apps to you and your kids.Although your kids cannot make purchases without knowing your password, you also CANNOT remove this link from the page, meaning your child will be constantly encouraged to browse for more items they want you to purchase for them.

I wish I could come up with some pros, beyond the fact that I like the "idea" of creating a kid centric tablet. However, the construction didn't seem any better than any other 7" tablet and the lack of versatility was far too much of a drawback.Ultimately we purchased a basic 7" android tablet and created our own kid centric tablet by downloading the apps we wanted and then removing the items we didn't want.It was easy to temporarily remove the "marketplace" link so our child wasn't able to go shopping and wasn't tempted by constantly being asked to shop for more games, yet we can add things whenever we want.

It is a good idea, but it is not worth the money and the designers seemed far more interested in encouraging you to buy more items from their store than truly providing a kid friendly tablet.

I purchased mine from Toys R Us for 199.99 initally and when it went on sale for 149.99, I was able to get a priced adjustment for the difference. As another reviewer mentioned, it is true you cannot access the Google Android Market as available on android phones and some android tablets. But you can download 1Mobile Market from cnet.com or the Amazon app store. Between the two you have access to the same apps available on the Google version. Some of the paid apps are even cheaper. I have download Zoodles as wells a other educational games and books. Nabi customer service has mentioned they will update their App store and software in future updates. The Nabi facebook page has been a great resource for customers to share ideas and discuss concerns. Nabi customer service has been quick to respond to any questions there, resolve issues, and is very open to customer feedback. I can't complain. I think it was a great value and can't wait to see how future updates will improve the device. I would not pay these marked up prices. They will be back in stock at Toys R Us soon, after Christmas I believe.Overall, I love this tablet and I know my daughter will be thrilled with it on Christmas. I can have my phone back now.

Want NABI FUHUNABI-A 7-Inch 4 GB Tablet Discount?

I purchased this tablet for my little boy I tested it out first before I give it to him as a Christmas gift and it's phenomenal but I think the asking Price on Amazon is ridiculous $499.00 come on now!!! I paid $199.00 on toysrus.com which I feel is more realistic.

This is a great product.I would not, however pay over 300 dollars for it.You can get it at ToysRUs for 199.00. I got mine for 149.00 on sale.Shop around for a better price.

Crunch a Color: Conversation Starters for Parents and Kids

As a parent and teacher, I love these cards. Anything that gets my family thinking about eating healthy is winner and this is a winner. As a teacher, I can't wait for school to start and bring a box of Crunch a Color:Conversation Starter cards to school. I will be using them in the classroom at the start of the year to get the children talking to each other, as well as writing prompts to inspire my young writers. Then they will go up to the Café and be spread out on the lunch tables for cross grade conversation. What a great way to get kids talking and eating healthy.Love this product as much as I love Crunch a Color!

Disney Princess Jasmine Cinderella Sleeping Beauty Castle Enchanted Palace Play Set

This is what I would expect from Disney -a quality product that will last for a long time. We considered buying the newest Disney Princess Castle from Mattel, but it has gotten poor reviews on many sites. After searching the web, I found this Enchanted Palace and read many positive reviews, so we purchased it for our 4 year old. It is BIG -and folds out to over 3 feet wide and about 2 feet tall. It's beautiful and sturdy. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the staircase won't stay on very well. I suppose we could glue it, but my daughter likes to move it around to the other rooms. The balcony has fallen off a few times also. But overall, it is great! Assembly took me about 45 minutes and is fairly easy. The chandelier lights up; the stove, phone, and piano all make noise; and the elevator moves. Best part for me -it fits 12" dolls like Barbies, etc. so she'll be able to use it for a long time, even with Barbies later on.
