The product is well made and has very attractive details. Yet, I didn't realize that there could be such a difference between professional furniture delivery service and boxed shipments. The product is heavy, which means it is a big deal to handle, pack,or re-ship if it is damaged. I have to give OJ Commerce credit for working with me. I enjoy backgammon, esp. on a nice set, so I ordered this item a couple of years ago to add to my "collection."I didn't have any wooden tabletop sets that don't fold, so I thought this might be interesting, as it looked appealing in the photo.It wasn't so great, however.It was smaller than I expected, and there some issues --some of which I can no longer recall exactly-so I did not think it was at all worth the asking price, and I promptly returned it.As I recall, the points are not inlaid and they are not even particularly well placed, and/or the checkers do not fit the board perfectly, so when you line up the checkers along the edge of the board they are not properly centered on a point, e.g.You can find better designed boards for less, ...and I did.

24 silk flowers for such a low price, I thought it was a deal. But like they say if it's too good to be true, it probably is. The flowers came crumpled in a small bag. And they're not silk flowers, they're something my four year old niece could beat in a crafts competition. Here's how the "flower" is structured. a green colored piece of cheap material in the shape of the figure 8. Then a flat piece of cheaper cloth cut to shape five petals mind you, it's all one flat cloth. Then lay it on top of each other and poke a plastic stamen through. That's your tropical flower for tabletop decoration.I am only thankful the Gods didn't take cheap shortcuts when they created the real hibiscus.

Yes, these flowers were cheap in price...but also cheap in quality.I purchased these for a school fundraiser.They squish 24 of these flowers into a small bag.When you take them out they remain squished.So, I ironed them (I ordered 13 bags) and then sprayed them with heavy duty hairspray so they would keep a shape to them.Alot of work, but dangit I was not going to throw them away.You have to handle them carefully too, as the stamens may "pull out" from the fabric.I always check on reviews before I order stuff...but for some reason I did not check on these.Save your money and just go to a craft store/dollar store and purchase your fake flowers there.Read Best Reviews of Tropical Flowers for Tabletop Decoration (24) Here
I don't know why I didn't read the reviews for these flowers before I purchased them, I always check reviews before I buy :( These flowers are definitely worth their money...cheap and worthless.They were stuffed in the tiny plastic bag and are all creased flat and wrinkled.I am hoping that letting them sit out for a while will help, and if not, I am hoping to help shape them better with a hair dryer.Will let you know how that turns out, I'm not too hopeful. I will be returning the unopened package if the hairdryer doesn't help.

Each craft has enough for four kids (or for your child to do it four times).Each craft has its supplies in its own plastic bag--which is nice.There are three different direction sheets--and they're designed for non-readers.They'll show, for example, a red cup...and then show what goes on the red cup.Then, the punch outs for the red cup will also be labeled with a red cup.Really well thought out.
I think if you're doing preschool at home or just want to add some art enrichment to your day, it's nice to have.If you think of it as one craft per week--it's a little more than $1.00/week/kid.Not too bad.I'll add that my 4, 6, and 8 year olds all enjoyed the crafts--they're not just for preschoolers.You'll also end up with left-over paper shreds which can be used for other crafts.
I'm going to send another one of these craft kits to my Mom's house for when we visit at Christmas.It's so complete--that it's worth it.
Now, that I'm on my fourth child, I've slowly established craft supplies.For my four year old, I like to assign a certain craft to each day...so Monday is play dough (homemade...just Google a recipe, so easy!), Tuesday is painting, Wednesday is crafts (either the Kumon books or Alex kits), Thursday is drawing, and Friday is free.
One great easy craft is to just buy some pipe cleaners and bugle beads...and let a child string them.The pipe cleaner is much easier to string things on.Homemade play dough is great.It's easy (I buy a bag of the cheapest flour for it)...and giving that to kids along with cookie cutters, rolling pins, etc. can keep them busy for hours. (There are cooked/non=-cooked recipes everywhere.)Kids also like to collect things outside and then make collages. Let them paint paper towel and toilet paper tubes before you recycle them.Clear contact-paper is great for having them stick things to.There are tons of craft-y blogs out there for ideas as well.I also love all of Maryann Kohl's books.We still use First Art : Art Experiences for Toddlers and Twos and my older kids love the projects!Have fun!Remember, messes are not that tough to clean up...and usually kids love to help.
Alex Little Hands usually make exceptionally high quality products, but they need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

This summer's heat wave has inspired my daughter and I to do a lot of arts and crafts. I got this box because my daughter loves owls and there's a paper plate owl to construct. But the paper cup crafts are a bit tricky to glue and the hats aren't really of any interest for my little one. ()I have purchased other Alex Little Hands crafts over the past year for my children (my son is almost 5 and my daughter is almost 2).We've really enjoyed them, so when I saw this I ordered it.
When it came, my son instantly wanted to make a paper cup monster.It's a cute concept, but the glue provided (as mentioned by other reviewers) is pretty much worthless.My little boy got frustrated when things didn't stick, and he'd have to use more glue and hold it for a while to get the pieces to stay.This doesn't work well with impatient, small children, so make sure to have your own glue handy.
My daughter wanted to make a fish hat with Daddy, and that worked out okay, but again we had issues with the glue, and the stickers just weren't strong enough to hold it together.The hat turned out really cute and my daughter loved it once my husband got out some other glue to work with.
Basically this kit is comprised of colored paper cups and colored paper plates with some round stickers, some light weight poster board pieces for arms and other features, and other pieces for decorating.It also comes with a glue stick, which I would immediately replace.It would be pretty easy to make these items yourself, and probably for less money.This kit seems pretty expensive for what you actually get, although it does have projects that my 2 year old and 5 year old really enjoyed.

Okay, I have seen playhouses come and go, but this is by far the best one I've ever seen!Kids love to role play and this playhouse has limitless opportunities for interactive role-playing!Each wall of this playhouse has a different theme: One side is a schoolhouse/firehouse wall (they give you decals to make it either or), one side is a gas station complete with gas pumper and crawl through tire tunnel, one side is a sports wall which comes with a basketball hoop, soccer net, 4 targets and a sports ball (what a deal!) and the last wall is a grocery store wall with a pretend ATM/bank, too!My child loves to pretend to play school one minute and then the next thing you know he is over on the other side of the playhouse pretending that he is out for recess at the sports wall.This playhouse is seriously loaded with features!I couldn't find a better value for my money!You would be depriving your child of their imagination if you didn't get this playhouse!Plus the inside is loaded with features as well. We bought this for our 2 year old son as a Christmas Gift.We can't wait to see the look on his face in a few days.It's very solid construction and should stand up to years of use.The walls have different shapes/objects molded into them, some of it quite detailed, but it's all the same color.So my wife and I purchased some plastic paints at a local craft store and painted some of the objects on the walls to add more detail and realism.It was cheap and and easy, and the results speak for themselves.We painted the fruit on the store wall, along with the ATM etc.On the inside my wife painted the globe, the books, the tools hanging on the wall, along with the bank safe and the tire.It looks very cool now.This house doesn't have any sound effects or lighting, so I purchased a wireless doorbell and battery operated light at Home Depot.The total cost for the paints and electronincs was $25 and was easy to do.Rather than spending the extra $100 for more detail and electronics, this was a very cost effective and fun way to make the house even better.I think my son is going to love it.I'll post pictures when I get time.

I have a 5yr old son, 3yr old daughter and 1yr old twins. They all LOVE this playhouse. It is not too girly because of the sports stuff. It is not to boyish because it is a playhouse. The babies love to crawl in and out the openings. It is fun for all 4 kids of all ages. This is a great way to go if you have boys and girls.

After doind lots of research and reading reviews of the playhouses out there I decided on this one because of all of the play possibilities. Right now my 2 year old son loves to go in and out the door and through the tunnel and he really enjoys the sports court. This house also provides so many ways for him to use his imagination as he gets older. I can see him playing in this playhouse for years and since the house is very spacious inside he has lots of room to grow. Three or four children can easily fit (or a child, two adults and a dog). This playhouse was priced very well, in the mid-range of playhouses with a lot more features than most. I was surprised at the value and since it is a little tikes toy I know it will last. It is very sturdy and I put it together by myself in about 45 minutes, I am sure it would take less time without the help of an very excited two-year-old. My MIL just bought this for our noq 21 month old sons two months ago, its terific! They love it and its by far the best house out there. WE use it every day and it holds up to much abuse, but we really bought it because it wasnt pink and frilly, a must with two BOYSOur sons are still a little young to climb all over our very large wooden swing set, and we wanted more for them to play with, this house is just soo awsome. Its a little large, so I dont suggest you purchasing it for indoor use (especially since every side had an activity so it wouldnt be as fun against a wall). It can fit both my boys in it and the weather doesnt do any damage... we plan on covering it with a tarp in the winter though... before our sons go inside we wipe it down with dissinfected wipes and get all the little bugs out for them, no biggy...

SPORTS SIDE->
* Basket ball hoop, now we dont have to buy a little one that will just tip over anyway (we have one inside) and our sons love to play with it (they are only in the 32nd percentile) so its a bit tough to make a basket on the highest setting, it can adjust to the top of the house, or to right abouve the soccer net, great for toddlers or older children!!!
* The soccer net also doubles as a little window and our sons really love to peek in and out of it... its very durable and there is no ripping in it *yet*... but they like it when my husband shows them to kick the ball inside, and it keeps the air flow throughout the toy house nice and fresh...
* The little number game is cute, my sons dont understand it yet, but for older family and friends its a big hit
SUPERMARKET->
* A little ATM machine, so adorable and my sons cant get enough of it... although the older kids have more imaginative play with that part of the house
* The little window alot of the younger toddlers enjoy, its one of their favorite parts of the house, all little kids love opening and closing things, yet again older kids like to make this a McDonalds drive in window or something... great fun
* The big window makes it easy to see how the boys are doing inside, and it also keeps it nice and fresh, not too moldy and stuffy like some of the other houses, we like the big window
GAS STATION->
* The tunnel is a big hit wiht the toddlers, they like to peek through it, its my sons favorite way to get in! The older kids like to chase through it and try to "fly" through...
* The little pump is great for kettrikes and cozy coupes, my sons and the other toddlers like putting it into the cars gas tank, they think thats cute, but the older kids sometimes pretend its a hose or something, very cute imaginations
* The little telephone is a big hit with everyone, they love pretending with it and I usually find it everywhere but the base, but hey thats no biggy
* YEt again more ventalation with the window... I think thats why this house doesnt get too much mold or little bugs... theres just no really dark and damp spaces!
SCHOOL HOUSE->
* Theres not too much to this side of the house, and it doesnt really look like a school, but the younger kids like slaming the door
* The older kids make it a barn and like to pretend its a stable door, very very imaginative
* EVEN MORE VENTALATION AND ANOTHER SPOT TO SEE EVERYONE, TWO BIG WINDOWS AND A BARN-DOOR...
This house is perfect for toddlers, and bigger kids (up to about 10-11ish) there are just endless possibilities for this house and everyone enjoys it... I always know theres something for EVERY one to have fun with outside... the perfect playhouse out there

What would you call a word search game that is not just a puzzle, but a deeply engaging, and often laugh-provoking contest for 2-4 players? How about if it were not played with paper and pencil at all, but on a board a very cleverly designed board that reveals the words you are searching for one at a time, and the first person who can find that word must be the first to squeeze a very silly noise maker, and only then can use her own contact-lens-like plastic chips to cover each letter in that word, every letter being connected in a straight line exactly as you would expect in a word search puzzle? And, to top it all off, what if, when the line in which that word was found crosses a word that another player had already created, that player's chips were removed from the board, and, should that result in another word that is already claimed to suddenly become incomplete, those chips as well were to be removed? So that you can never really tell who is winning, even though you might be 40 chips ahead of everyone else, until the very end of the game?
You'd call it two things. You'd call it Wordquest, because that's the name of the game. And the other thing you'd call it would be Major FUN, because it's exactly the kind of game the Major FUN award was designed for.
Like almost every game published by Goliath, every aspect of the game is designed for ease of use and long-lasting fun. Each of the 20, differently-themed word search puzzles is printed on a large, laminated disc. The disc is mounted on a round base. A transparent grid provides concave receptacles for the transparent, concave, playing chips. Because the chips and the receptacles are both concave, it is extremely easy to use a finger tip to place and remove them during play. A mounting ring fits on top of the grid and covers all the target words. Rotating the ring reveals each word to be found. Zip-lock baggies are provided for the chips, and four pits surround the playing area so that the chips are easily accessible during play. At the end of the game, everything fits back in the box with ease.
Being able to remove words that the opponents have already scored is probably one of the most compelling of all the clever mechanics that have gone into making Wordquest as fun as it is. Though there is no strategy involved in playing the game, when you successfully cross words with another player you get the same sense of smug superiority as you would if your victory were actually justified.
And then there's that squeaky, exclamation-mark-like thing that you use to announce that you've been the first to find a word. It makes such a perfectly silly sound that it's almost hard to take it seriously, even if you're the one who didn't find the word.
Younger children who are old enough to successfully solve word search puzzles might have difficulty with the small chips and the competitive aspect of the game. We'd recommend it to families with kids who are old enough to appreciate both. And, of course, to anyone who likes the visual and conceptual challenge of word search puzzles. Even if you don't like word search puzzles.

If you like wordfind books, then you'll love this game.It's challenging and different than most other board games.It's not a game I'd play for a long period of time, but would probably stop playing after complete one round.However, my friends who have played it like it.I recommend it as something different, and it's fun for all ages.My daughter's (7) after school program has this game and she came home begging for it. Amazon is one of the only places I found it.It works on finding word quickly and is learning fun.I recommend the extender kit if your child likes it to increase the variety of play.

Recently received this loupe and it seems to be working very well.I can't say it's quality construction, because it is all plastic and somewhat delicate and seems pricey for what you get.But it's a nice size and the light is very bright.Because of the positioning of the light, this is meant to be hand held, rather than setting it down flat on the object (stamp, coin, etc.).They had identical ones on Ebay for less than $2.00, but the batteries weren't included.This loupe does the job.

I saw the prize wheel in a shopping mall for customers who bought over a certain amount of merchandise to spin and get a gift. It is very excited as you have no idea if you are getting something or nothing. Since I was one of those customers, I got to touch, spin and have a feel of the prize wheel before I decided to buy one for my programs.The wheel is sturdy and well made. Since it can be dissembled and put back into its own card board box, it takes up very little space. It came with templates for the slots so that I can just print them in different color copier paper to make it colorful and more interesting. Since I can use the prize wheel in many different occasions, I think the price is okay.
I used the prize wheel last summer as a reward for kids' reading. I put in different prizes in each slot and the kids tried their luck spinning the wheel to get something ranged from gift card to a pencil. It is a great hit and kids are just crazy about it. I also put in different riddles in the slots for kids to solve in another program. It is another great success. Some more ideas: use the prize wheel as a color wheel or as a fund raising opportunity. With a little imagination, the kind of activities that you can make use of the prize wheel is endless.

I purchased this dresser as a stop gap solution since I just moved into a new home.For $60, you get a reasonable quality dresser. South of Ikea quality, but not laughable.
That is, of course, if you receive all the appropriate pieces. The unit I received had an extra drawer left side, but one too few right sides. No problem, right? South Shore says they will ship you replacement parts free of charge.
So three weeks and several phone calls later, I received my replacement part: The backing plate to an entirely different dresser.
I've submitted another request for parts and I patiently await their response. Based on my interaction so far, I expect to receive a tea kettle, several rubber bands, and the Best of Earth, Wind and Fire on vinyl.

I read all the other reviews AFTER I bought the unit and I was expecting some smelly thing to arrive and stink up my house.I did smell something that I could best describe as a "new dresser" smell, but it was not bad and the very next day I did't smell anything at all.That being said, let's get to the building process.I got the drawers put together with no problem at all, but when it came to building the frame, that's where I ran into problems. I don't think it is because of the item itself, because the instructions are pretty clear and it all goes together kind of the same way the junk you get from Ikea does. My problem came in trying to put the bottom together and I was doing it alone, so when I got one side together and tried to attach the other side, it fell apart and broke. I am going to contact the manufacturer and see if they will replace the broken piece.The next problem arose as I got the whole thing together (finally) and tried to put the drawers in.You have to precisely get the plastic piece on the drawers to fit into the plastic pieces on the frame.On each drawer I was able to get one side in but not the other and it took me like a half hour just to get the drawers to go in correctly. I will admit that I have a bad back and my vision is not so great, so again, the problem may have been me and not the unit. After it was all done I stepped back and looked at it and marveled over what a cheap piece of junk it was.But at the end of the day, it fit perfectly in the space I had bought it for (I bought it to fit inside of my son's closet to store his underwear and socks) and the drawers open and close ok.I am not confident that it will last long, and I may have to buy another unit in the future, but this one will do for now and at the very least, it proved that my idea to put a small drawer unit into the closet instead of taking up floor space in the room was one hell of a great idea.The closet looks neat, it is functional and it will hopefully help my son not throw his clothes all over the floor.All in all, if you can get it together without breaking it, you will probably enjoy it for as long as it lasts, which may not be long...but we will see, won't we?Read Best Reviews of South Shore Libra Collection 3-Drawer Chest, Black Here
This is one of the three pieces I bought from this collection and I was very happy with the price and quality.Of course it is not high end furniture but it is durable enough for my 8 year old son. Let me just say that I knew I wasn't purchasing a high quality dresser when I bought this. I wanted something small, attractive and relatively sturdy.
I got what I wanted. I have now had this dresser for a two yearsand it is still in great condition. It took us about 30 minutes? if that to put it together. The directions were very clear and it came with all the pieces we needed.
Great for a child's bedroom.
ONE tiny complaint. Due to the material, it is easy to see finger prints. Luckily for us, it sits in an area of the room that doesn't get significant light... so this isn't really a problem for us.

My daughter received an older version Tyco dollhouse from her grandparents. Since the dollhouse was missing a few people/accessories, we decided to search for additional pieces. She enjoys taking the smaller baby/toddler dolls for rides in the carriage, as well as the family pets. One of the packaging shots shows a Father figure riding the bike when it arrived it was a cardboard cutout.Not a problem for us since we have parent and grandparents dolls, but if you were expecting a parent/child doll set, you might be disappointed. We purchased a few other pieces so she entertains herself easily. Sizing is comparable to Fisher Price Loving Family and similar dolls and dollhouse pieces so compatibility/scaling isn't an issue.

Love this, love this, love this!!!It was shorter than I thought it would be, but that turned out to be great.My daughter is 16 months and is very much into chairs so this is the perfect size for her.It is a little small for her 3 year old cousin, but she makes do.Easy to put together, cute design, unisex and very sturdy.I would definitley recommend this table and chair set, but will have to replace it for a taller set when my daughter is about 3 or so because of the height.
Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - IslAnd Adventure Playboard
I umm and aahh about spending this sort of money on a train table and playboard for my children but after doing my homework I decided this is the one I would buy.Other train tables I have seen in stores are often wonky and seem quite unstable and this is after they've been played on in the stores. So after seeing poorer quality tables for similar prices I decided to save up for the Thomas branded one and this single sided playboard.
Yes, it's expensive, but as with any "brand", it's the name you are paying for. If you want a Thomas collection of trains and accessories you are going to have to pay. I'm just starting our collection and am buying the "Thomas" trains and buildings, but found a compatible generic track for less than half the price. I was lucky enough to get this playboard at almost half price at a after Christmas sale. It's worth waiting for sales and price comparing.
It's beautifully painted and when used with the table frame is extremely strong (although I wouldn't recommend standing on it).
It's up to you to spend to decide if you want to spend this sort of money but I see this as something I won't ever have to replace and it's something my son can keep for his children. Toys like this will last!
I bought this play board for a train table that I built for my 2 1/2 year old grandson.The play board arrived with multiple scratches and several dents around the edges.The worst problem was that the board was warped approximately 1/2 inch and would not lay flat on the table.I thought that for $60 this would be something more than a laminated scene over press board.I would have returned it but did not want to disappoint my grandson.The cosmetic defects did not bother him.

This is one of the best investments we have made. It cleans up great. Actually last month my son decided to use a pen to this table top and the Mr Clean bar got it out. My son loves this and plays with it w/ everything. Thomas, Matchbox & Lego's. I would recommend it to anyone. Watch for the deal Toys r us has though... when you buy the table, you get the top free. Thats the BEST deal!

This is a nice board with a fun, colorful layout. This can be placed on the ground (my boys crawl on top of it) or it can be placed on a table. The Circo 120-piece train set is a great value for the price. The track pieces are solid and stay together, even under the heavy use of twin 23-month old boys. The drawbridge is solidly constructed but the mechanism that raises and lowers it sometimes sticks but seems to be loosening with more play. The train cars included in the set are constructed well and stay on the track and the number of track configurations are endless. There are a lot of accompanying 'setting' pieces that we've put up until the boys are older (buildings, people, trees, etc.) but there is enough now for lots of great play. This is a great first train set!

I gave this to my 2 year old son on Christmas Eve as an early gift to keep him entertained and give him something to play with while our extended family celebrated the holiday...big mistake!These tracks were terrible, they did not fit together snuggly and therefore the trains had issues staying on the tracks.This toy did nothing but frustrate my son and cause him to cry throughout the entire night.He had a small figure 8 set of Thomas tracks that did not have this problem at all but after reading reviews that said these tracks were "just as good" as the Thomas tracks I decided to try to save money by buying the circo tracks with the Thomas trains since many reviewers said that there was no difference.Be advised that there is a definite difference and the statement "You get what you pay for" could not be truer when it comes to these tracks.Thankfully Amazon took the tracks back and I was able to purchase a Thomas set instead and since then my son couldn't be happier with his trains and tracks!I am all about saving money but if it is at the expense of quality it just isn't worth it...Don't bother with these tracks...just get the Thomas ones, you won't be sorry!Thank goodness my son had enough other stuff Christmas morning that I was able to hid these tracks and he forgot about them till the new ones arrived!

Nice tin & good ideas on the cards.My only problem is that it states up to age 12 for this one, and it was a little boring for my 10 year old.I do think that children under 2nd or 3rd grade will love playing this, so I will keep it in mind for the younger ones, but the age recomendations are not totally accurate.
It does have great ideas you could even use on road trips or just for fun anytime, so it's a keeper.Nice little tin it comes in too, easy to pop in your purse for when the family is eating out and need something to do while you wait for your food with younger kids.
The kids do have fun with the games, and with some imagination you can do this one on your own.
