Little Tikes Butterfly Beach Sandbox and Wading Pool

I don't normally leave reviews for products, but since no one else has written a review I thought I'd help out. I gave this sandbox five stars because my two and a half year old daughter loves it so much. She's very big for her age, but she fits it in it just fine. There's also enough room for her beach toys. It wouldn't fit two toddlers, though.

It's been a bit too cold to try out the water side, but I'm sure my daughter will love that feature when our 100 degree days come. As far as the lid is concerned, it fits pretty well. However, on a day like today with 35 mile an hour winds, the lid blew off. So, you'll have to secure it down with bricks or heavy rocks, which is what I did. So far, the lid has kept the sand clean. There are three holes around the top of the sandbox, which means the lid does not fit tight to the box. That might be a problem in the summer when the bugs come out. But hey, I don't think bugs are that big of a deal to a kid.

The thing I love the most about this sandbox is the huge umbrella that comes with it. It really does cover the whole thing, and it protects her skin from sunburn. It's adjustable, so you can move it higher or lower depending on how much shade is needed.

I would certainly recommend this sandbox because it is super easy to put together. I even let my daughter help put the eyes on. Plus, it only uses one 50 lb bag of sand. It says to put 25 lbs in the bodyto weight it down. And the rest goes in the sandbox. This allows for about 3 inches of sand. If that's not deep enough for your child, I would suggest getting one of the other bigger sandboxes like the crabbie one. Anyway, I hope this info helps!

Great product like all the Little Tikes products I have purchased.It is durable and just the right size for my 2 girls.They love it.At playgroup it gets a little crowded because it is not made for 10-15 kids...more like 3 comfortably.The pool is great for them to cool off in.Wish this product was a little bigger but is a great item for all little kids.The umbrella shades them nicely so they don't get burnt from the sun.

We've had this sandbox for a year now.I bought it because it was small enough to fit on our apartment terrace, and had a cover to keep rain and animals out.The option to use half as a kiddie pool and the included umbrella were bonuses.Unfortunately, as another reviewer has noted, the cover is completely useless.We were careful to keep the sandbox covered after every use.Nevertheless, it completely filled with water each time it rained, and (even after I would pour out as much water as possible) it never totally dried out.It eventually became a scummy, wet mess.Gross.The umbrella wasn't great, either, but for the price, I could have overlooked that small complaint.Choose something different if you are looking for a covered sandbox with a functional cover.

This is a good little combination of a sandbox and pool.

It is not too large so it is easy to find a place for it, but that also means it works better for smaller children and 2-3 is probably a reasonable amount to have playing in it at the same time.

Of course sand and water get transferred back and forth a bit, but so far it is not a major issue, not much difference than dealing with a toddler on the beach and a sandy diaper or bathing suit.

It is also small enough that it does not take alot of water or sand to fill up things or empty and refill if you want, and the umbrella is a nice touch also.

For the price (and a good size for any space) the fun it has provided has made this a very good purchase.

Copag Bridge Size Regular Index 1546 Playing Cards (Black Gold Setup)

I just got these a couple days ago, and overall they're nice cards that are very flexible but keep their shape. They're nice to have in your hands (the material is comfortable), although they have a couple downsides. First downside: The cards are a bit more slippery than I'd like; it seems like when I shuffle these cards that they don't want to be in a deck together (as if they had a personality). The cards move off of each other very easily, and make it surprisingly difficult to shuffle properly. In addition, the second (and last) downside is that the cards came slightly bent. Now, to be honest I'm not sure if this is a part of the cards' design, but I've never seen any cards like this before if this is the case. The cards are bents in the middle, from the top of the card to the bottom, with the center pushed back. This actually does make it slightly easier to shuffle, but just since I'm used to a flat deck the cards the cards slip even more when I'm shuffling.

So overall: good cards, but they seem a bit slippery and possibly bent. It's going to take me a lot of getting used to for this deck.

I ordered this bridge card deck set for my wife as a gift.

Today she hosted her bridge group and all were pleased.

These are the best cards I have ever bought. They do cost a lot more than regular cards but trust me, they are worth every penny. I play cards regularly with my family and we kept destroying one card set after another so I searched for "plastic" cards on the internet and came up with these. When new, they are a bit slippery but the more you use them, the better they get. If you have an automatic card shuffler, these cards DO NOT get stuck ..... Yeah!!! I highly recommend these cards, they are the last set you'll ever buy.

These cards are excellent! They shuffle VERY well, to be honest I was surprised at how easy it was to do. The cards are very supple and so don't need to apply much pressure to bend them. As for the handling, they handle good enough, although obviously won't compare to paper cards like Bicycle. Overall, I am very happy with my Copags, and would recommend them to anyone else looking to buy good plastic playing cards.

Gund Snuffles Tan 34" Bear Plush

My wife collects Gund Snuffles bears, since she thinks that Snuffles is THE classic teddy bear.One prize in her collection is the silver millenium Snuffles.When I was looking for a fun Christmas present for her, I went looking for a comparable current version of Snuffles.I thought this tan one would be the same size.Wrong.It is at least twice as big!It came in a box the size of a mini refrigerator.This Snuffles is absurdly large, but in a good, funny way.My wife loves her new Snuffles, and it was the perfect fun gift novel, something a little silly that made us laugh, but also something that means a lot to my wife because of her collection.I wanted to surprise her, and receiving a 3-foot tall (and 2-foot wide) smiling, huggable bear will tend to do that.

Like one of the reviewers below, I saw the Jumbo Snuffles in a Neiman Marcus window in the Copley Place Mall in Boston in the mid 1980s.

I was walking with one of my favorite female friends in between classes at Northeastern and I actually thought about buying it for her until I saw the price. I believe it was $399.

I had purchased a number of Snuffles for my mother and when she died, I inherited them.

I was looking for additional members to add to the group when I saw the Jumbo Snuffles.

I know my mother would have loved it, and I could afford it, so I bought it and couldn't be happier.

It does come in a box the size of a refrigerator, and is enormous. It is the size of a small human being and has quite a bit of weight to it.

It is ridiculously huge, but it IS exactly what it should be: a conversation piece, a heartwarming presence (and I have been accused by many of having no heart at all) and wonderful to sit next to when you're unhappy or lonely.

This product is amazing as it was larger than i thought and definably huggable. He is so soft! This is my first Gund and i will for sure get another. I did not give 5 stars because the quality is not perfect. there are sill some noticeable flaws around the nose and the neck. Plus i was very disappointed with the packaging from amazon. The bear was stuffed into an obviously too small box and when i received the item the box was all bowed out. I mean the bear was far from damaged but i felt like he didn't get the love and care expected from amazon. This table turned out to be exactly what I needed, an all-purpose activity table that I could use for painting, drawing, writing, crafts, or whatever else we end up doing. I also love the clover shape!It's not boxy and boring as a rectangular table and doesn't push you away from it as a round table does.The clover shape is a great compromise and is perfect for being able to scoot in closer to the middle, almost like it invites you into your own personal space.

I ordered the chunky legs to go with the table because they have a wider stance than the other two types and they are adjustable from 15"-24".So that will allow a 2-year-old all the way through middle school at 12-years-old to use it with the adjustments.I have even found that I can sit down at the table with my kids quite comfortably and join in the activity.

Sesame Street Elmo Room in a Box Furniture Set

This set is so cute!We bought it for our 27 month old son who is an Elmo freak.He loves his Elmo room (even though he won't sleep in his own room at night.LOL) and he hangs out in there all day.The bed was easy for my hubby to put together and I put the rest of it together easily.Dominik jumps on the bed and sits on the table and it all deals with his abuse quite well.I miss the crib (more than he does!) but the fact that he loves his Elmo room makes it easier for me to accept that my baby is getting big.;-)

The Duo Pinball for iPad is pretty awesome. It feels like an old fashioned pinball arcade with the old school bumper buttons and ball plunger. There are also several themed games to play which look amazing. The themes were well done and interesting to watch. It connects using bluetooth which hooked up really easy and worked great. I brought it to our family thanksgiving dinner and everyone wanted to play. The young kids, teenagers and adults were all trying to beat each others score. The adults were telling the kids about playing the old school games and the kids were teaching to adults how to use the iPad. It really brought the kids and adults closer together talking geek to each other.

It's really fun and easy to play. I definitely got my moneys with out of this game in just one day!

Rebound Game

Anyone that played Rebound as a child remembers how fun it used to be, whether playing against a friend, parent, or just playing around on your own.THIS IS NOT THE GAME YOU REMEMBER!Sure, it's the same "game", but what comes out of the box is not what you remember.

First, the game board comes in two pieces, not the smooth, solid single board that the older version had.This means the playing pieces hit a noticeable drop at each seam.

Second, the playing pieces aren't the heavy, smooth rolling pieces of the old set.These are lighter and don't track straight even on the kitchen table.

Finally, because of its construction the playing surface isn't level, and skill or no, it's nearly impossible to aim your shots like you could in the old game.It's frustrating, even for my older kids.

The game I bought my kids has been repacked and is going back to the store.Save your money on this one.

This was my favorite game as a child and I'm giving my 5 year old one for Christmas. I'd given up on finding a new version and decided to buy vintage on ebay. Mattel must have read my mind.

This is a tabletop shuffleboard game where the object is to shoot the marble off the rubberbands so that they stop in the highest point area. Not high concept but a great deal of fun to play alone or with family. The downside of the reissue is that the board is no longer a one piece cast but sectional. Not a big deal.

The two piece board construction does not stay together.The two board pieces don't even come close to aligning so there is a drop that makes the pieces move unpredictably.The boards are warped so all shots fall to one side.The rubberbands that came with the game fell apart before being stretched.The game pieces themselves are so cheap and shoddily made that they will stick.This was a huge disappointment.It is unplayable in this version.

The older version of this game was made much better as it had a wooden board. I guess most games/toys nowadays just aren't made like they used to be. If I had known that the game was on a plastic board that doesn't fit well together in the center of the board, I think I would have purchased this more as a "shuffle board" game through a magazine I received in the mail. It was a one piece board made out of wood. The seller on this item however was absolutely fantastic, and I would purchase from them again and again.

My kids have had a fun time playing this game. They are ages 3-11 and all can play and all have fun.

The board is cheaply made and comes in two pieces that don't connect as flush as they should due to poor board design, so the rollers don't have a completely smooth surface to roll on. Despite this flaw, the kids didn't grow up with the better single flat board design, so they can't tell the difference and don't mind at all. The rollers are as good as the pieces I remember growing up with.

These are quick games (less than a minute), so kids aren't sad when they lose because they know they can just play again.Fun for parents to play with kids too and not boring like some other kids games.

Overall, fun game that my kids enjoy that would have been better with a single piece flat board.

Strawberry Shortcake - Strawberry Shortcake Deluxe Toddler / Child Costume

Cute costume and will serve its purpose for Halloween, but it has been way more trouble than it's worth. My daughter wears a size 3T, so I originally ordered the toddler size. It wouldn't even go over her torso. I ended up returning it and ordering the child's small which said it would fit size 6-8, and it fit great...except for the elastic in the sleeves which would even be too tight for my one-year-old's arm. My daughter is petite, so this is never an issue. I removed the elastic, turned up the sleeve, restitched, and put in an appropriate sized piece of elastic.

I must agree with others on this. The costume runs very small and the material is cheap. I only bought it because my daughter didn't want to be anything other than strawberry shortcake. It isn't worth the price. I bought two other costumes for my boys and they were great.

We ordered this costume in a size medium.It lists the costume as "Toddler" in the title of the item, but then for sizing it lets you choose from Toddler, Small, or Medium.We chose Medium, and there was even a price increase reflected in the price.When the item showed up, it was NOT a Medium.It was a Toddler size (2-4, for kids ages 1-2).It was teeny tiny.I was totally annoyed that I specifically chose Medium from the menu and was sent a toddler size anyway.Now it is sold out on Amazon in the medium size, so I returned it and ordered from another vendor completely.

There are two different Strawberry Shortcake costumes.There is this one and then there is another version in which the child pictured is different and the dress cut is more straight than A-lined (like in this costume).This costume is made of a NON-STRETCHING material.There is absolutely NO give to it.Not only that, the material is very flimsy and cheap, so even the slightest tug at the seam will cause the seam to start to come undone and it will cause the material to start to fray.There were several spots where this was already happening and my daughter did not even put it on! She would not even be able to try it on due to the small size we got in the mail.If it was already falling apart WITHOUT being tried on, I'd hate to see it after wear.

The other S.S. costume IS made out of a stretch material.It still runs small, so order a size up.My daughter wears a size 5.The size Small (4-6) costume barely fits and the tights are too small.Order a Medium (8-10) for a child wearing a size 5, FYI.But I would not recommend this particular costume.It looks cuter in the picture and the material is shiny and has a different look... but it is a piece of junk compared to the other costume which is much more well made.

Please, parents--listen to me and the other reviewers who rated this costume poorly. It is NOT worth the money! This outfit should be FIVE dollars, maybe! Not $25-$35. I am completely angered that a costume company would try to pass this off as a Halloween "costume." You could go to Walmart and find girls' nightgowns that have better craftsmanship, and are of higher-quality materials, than this flimsy thing. I, like other parents, bought this for my daughter only because she insisted she wanted to be Strawberry Shortcake for Halloween, nothing else. If I had known the very, VERY low quality this costume would be, I would have put my foot down. It is absolutely not worth the money! The dress is the thinnest material ever, and doesn't even have a hem sewn in. Unlike the dress, which runs small in size, the tights are definitely NOT "tight" and will be bunched around the ankles after 2 or 3 steps. The hat is relatively cute, but doesn't stay firmly on my daughter's head. This is a very, very disappointing costume. Please don't buy it--unless you find it at a yard sale for $3. That's about what it's worth.

I ordered the small for my daughter who just turned 4 because all of the reviews said it ran a little small. The dress is way too small, it barely comes down over her butt and is skin tight (she is also very thin for her age)There are strings hanging off of it everywhere and it is very poorly made. The hat is also too small and doesnt fit right on her head and you cant even tell what it is suppose to be, it does not sit on her head the same way it does on the girl in the picture. The tights however are huge and loose and baggy. It looks very cheap and you cant really even tell what she is.

My other complaint is I ordered the costume in the end of September told it wouldnt ship until after Halloween. I changed the shipping to over night shipping and as soon as I did it shipped out.

Royal 30 European Wood International Chess Set

Out of the box, the set was absolutely beautiful. It has sort of a home-made feel to it, which I thought was nice. Some of the algebraic notation around the board is a tad bit blurry--the letters and numbers have been carved, and a stain brushed in the grooves. It's perfectly legible, but some people may prefer uniform printed notation. i found the board has a certain charm absent in wood boards that merely have a checkered design printed on it.

The pieces look glorious on the board. I will say, however, that the queens are not made of one solid piece of wood. Still, this does not compromise the beauty of the piece (if you don't inspect it upside down, that is). In addition, these are not "triple weighted" pieces. They are fairly light, but perfectly suitable for play. the felt on the bottoms is especially nice, though I may trim the edges a bit in the future.

I will say, closing the board with the pieces inside is not something you can do quickly. None of the pieces may overlap AT ALL, or you will not be able to latch it shut.

Quite simply put, I love this set. I feel I have given an accurate summation of its virtues and vices, so to speak. So many chess boards are $100 or more--without the pieces included. This is a lovely set of a high quality. You won't find a nicer set at this price.

This set looks lovely! Also no child labour was used in making it. Fantastic. My only complaint is the weird-looking bishops are kind of hard to tell apart from the rooks. But it's definitely no deal-breaker. Fun to look at and fun to play.

Bottom line: I'm pretty happy I spent a couple extra bucks and avoided a cheap plastic set.

Upper line: The set is well crafted and feels durable. I can throw this set in my backpack and not worry about it falling apart. The pieces and board itself are goregous; the wood looks like it has been stained, not painted. The board appears to have been carved, which gives it a great handmade feel. The pieces do all fit into the board itself fairly easily. It's small, at probably 15 inches square. However, that does not make it hard to play at all. I've got pretty ginormous hands, and have no problem moving the pieces at all. I'm happy.

I was very happy when I opened the package.For the money, it is an excellent set.Some reviewers had a few negatives to say, but I compare apples with apples, SO, again, for the money it is an excellent set, a great deal, and would make a nice starter set to give to someone as a gift.Pieces are actually very decorative.Sure, the felt trim is not perfect, and they could have a molded interior for storage, but the price would be doubled.This apple is not an orange, and I give it 2 thumbs up!

Gund Baby 9" Snuffles -Blue/Pink

A nice little bear, but not quite up to Gund's usual quality.The eyes and nose are embroidered, and the fur not quite as soft and silky as other Snuffles.Still, a good find for a Snuffles fan.

I got a gund bear when I was a baby and i still have it, so of course i had to get one for my son! He loves his bear!!

I feel bad for the previous reviewer who needs to return their shipment of this Snuffles line.This bear is extremely adorable if hand picked from a store.Unfortunately, its hard to purchase online as the crafting may be thwarted.If you want to hand pick your snuffles, its best to go to a store that carries the physical copy.I found mine in the kids section of a bookstore that is to remain nameless.Good luck in searching

Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Musical Mirror

I found this mirror at a local outlet store for less than half the price it is here. Since our baby's theme is all fish & underwater things, I thought it was perfect. Honestly, I wasn't so interested in the remote control music player since I really just wanted a mirror to be able to see him while I am driving and from the passenger side, which it does perfectly, but it was a pleasant addition & we love to play with it! I bought one for each of our cars (all for less than the Amazon price) & I am so glad I did. I haven't had the negative experience that the other reviewers had, but again, I was looking more for just a mirror & for the price I ended up with much more! Great little mirror & really cute too!

Oh, it also latches on quite easily and secure if your car has the LATCH system using the middle clamp in the rear seat.

I found this mirror while shopping for just a basic mirror (no music) and found this one on sale for the same price as the non-music ones, so I thought, why not? Why not, indeed... the package says that the mirror plays 4 songs make that 4 snippets of songs (definitely not full songs) and they are pretty poor quality and fairly annoying. They could have done muuuuch better. I considered returning it, but then I played it for my 14 month old and unfortunately she loves it. So, she's happy, but none of the adults in the car are. However, I can turn on the radio or an audio book and then we're both doing our thing. Often, when she's fussy in the car, turning on the music (I'm glad for the remote control) is the only thing that makes her happy. So, overall, I'm glad I bought it. Is it worth $50, though? Nope.

And, like the other reviewer, I found the battery compartment almost impossible to open.

My wife and I bought this mirror for our newborn. First we could not open to include the batteries and as we leave overseas we could not return and get a new one. We had to completely break the battery compartiment to be able to open it. After such a hard time we had the batteries included and we found out that the music was really bad. And to finish the batteries do not last. We ended up using teh mirror without the sound or the remote (Very useful to have such a mirror!!) but we could have bought something much chieper for that. Watch out if you plan to buy this one.

I loved that this mirror had a remote control feature for the music. However, the music is pretty bad. When the music first starts it sounds like a siren. The songs are barely recognizable because of the quality. Bummer.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Plastic Tablecover

TMNT items are hard to find and are often overpriced. Usually the items are very colorful and of good quality and durability. The turtles are a classic party theme as well. I bought this item for my grandson' s party. For plastic, it was a tad more than I wanted to pay, but it was for him. Being rare, this was a surprisingly good conversation piece and EVERYONE loved it...especially him.

Jay enjoyed the Ninja party but it cost alot to put it together!All and all he had a great time.

It lookes beautiful, has nice design, and doesn't cost a lot. I like how you can touch all the mountains on the globe, since its surface isn't smooth, it has like reliefs where mountains are located. We like this globe very much! When it arrived, it didn't have a single scratch (I always like to point it out, because not everything I order arrives in excellent condition)!

Step2 All Around Easel for Two, Red/Yellow/Tan

()I am a big fan of the Step 2 products.They have great durability, and are usually designed well.I had an older version of this easel, and I have to say that I liked it better than this one (unfortunately I sold it in a garage sale a couple of years ago).The older version had two different boards that were at a slight angle, more like a traditional easel, which I think made it a bit easier for the little ones to write/draw on.This new version has just one board with two sides and stands upright.I guess the plus to this is that the base doesn't need to be as wide so it is more small space friendly.

Last year I purchased the Melissa and Doug deluxe standing easel for my nephews as a gift, and I have to say that I wish I would have spent the $10 more and purchased that one instead of the Step 2 for one simple reason.It grows with your children.The Melissa and Doug easel is height adjustable so that my 2 yr old nephew and five year old nephew can both use it, and you can attach a roll of paper that you just pull over the top and they are ready to create.You can attach paper to the clip on the Step 2, but the biggest downside to the Step 2 over the Melissa and Doug is that it is not height adjustable so it's better for just toddlers up to maybe age 4 (depending on how tall your kids are).

Basically there's nothing really wrong with the Step 2 and they make great products, but for my money I wish I would have purchased something that would have been useful longer by buying the Melissa & Doug Deluxe Standing Easel that would have grown with us, instead of being something that we will only use for a shorter period of time.I didn't really think about that until I had it home and had put it together :(

Trying to put this thing together is frustrating. I cannot get the easel to look in place. I have been hammering on the thing for over an hour. All I have to show for it is a few marks on the thing where the towel slipped. This is ridiculously hard to put together!

Update: I got the thing to go together by praying the pieces that lock together with a little cooking spray. Whether or not this really helped I can't say, but the thing is together.

()Step2 makes great products and this easel is no exception. It has 2 sides, a magnetic whiteboard and a chalkboard. The work area is decent but overall, not terribly big. This easel is a great size for anyone 3 and under. My daughter is 2 and really enjoys it. The product comes with quite a few foam pieces, mostly letters and other random shapes. It doesn't come with any other art products but that is usually the case. There are 2 little plastic baskets on either side of the easel for convenient storage of markers, crayons, etc. There is also a clip on the whiteboard side for kids to pin up their work and keep it in place.

The easel assembles quickly and easily, within minutes and feels nice and sturdy. The colors make it a perfect unisex toy and a great buy overall because of the educational value. Even if your child is not into art, they will still probably enjoy the magnets and playing with chalk-what kid doesn't?

The same product was for Fisher Price but for 20 more bucks. Up to know I can say that Step 2 got all the same stuff than the Fisher Price.

They seem a lot the same, and got robust structures.

My only complain was that I had to cut the letters myselfs...but it was just a matter of minutes.

This easel seemed to have the most value for the buck.It is double sided and contains multiple sheet of magnetic letters/numbers.there are multiple sets of letters in different colors so your kids will have fun with colors too for younger ones.Easy to assemble, just make sure you have a hammer and a cloth handy.The only gripe is that it's not easy to store.The top easel portion comes off with ease, but the grey and yellow bucket does not come apart without tools.

I bought the Darth Tater at wally world for about 10 bucks.This one is a gift for the wife because she loves the tater masher.I paid four times more for it than Darth but it's great!! It's not coming out of the box though, neither is Darth. Too cool.

Just look at the picture!If you're a Star Wars fan, it's impossible to not like this... if you don't like Star Wars, you should move on.I stop just short of giving it a four star because I don't see this as a "toy" that a 10 year old would play with.This is more of collectible item than anything else really.

By the way, as of November 2012, these are no longer available at the Walt Disney World resort and theme parks in Orlando; if you ever fancied adding this Spudtrooper to your Star Wars collection, better do it soon!
