Step2 Tool Chest Dresser
Make sure you ask yourself this question before you buy this item.It is really cute, but it is certainly not a dresser.It is a storage unit.It is small, a really good size for a small TV stand or a bedside table (especially if you have a big Little Tikes car bed.)There are 4 cupboard type doors that open to one compartment which is separated by one shelf about midway. It does not come with any bins to better utilize the space inside, so if you want to put anything that does not stack easily you may need to buy some containers.We are using it for a bedside table and will keep books, etc inside.It is well made, but the plastic top and shelf are not extremely flat.You can literally pull it out of the box and it is fully assembled, all we had to do was to put the decal stickers on..

We added this "dresser" to the Cars motif bedroom that my son (2 years old) absolutely loves!
Like others who have reviewed it, we found it is really not appropriate for use as a dresser, but the two storage shelves of the unit are great for a lot of his toys, books, and has also become his hiding place where he "disappears" from Mommy and Daddy, then bursts out with "Here I Am!"... a game he loves.
The unit is fully assembled in the shipping box, and only requires sticker placement.
As for durability and design, we have not seen the problems others have mentioned. The doors fit perfectly; open and close appropriately. The shelves are strong and as mentioned earlier, fully support my son's 35lbs weight, though that certainly was not intentioned by the manufacturer.
The top is also strong but is not a flat surface (Looks like wide tire tread or pickup toolbox), so placing anything that requires careful balance (like some lamps) may not be the best idea.
Overall, we are extremely pleased with the unit, and more importantly, my son LOVES it. (We are purchasing the matching toy storage box, also available on Amazon).
Highly recommended if your child is a "Cars / Lightning McQueen" fanatic like ours is!

My daughter loves it. It glows in the dark with different colors. It came in a timely matter ans was not damagedvery small clock, difficult to program. I wanted a clock that displayed time and temp, didn't really want an alarm clock. But figured I just wouldn't set the alarm. Before you can program the date you have to set when the alarm is to go off. Very disappointed. Honestly this product is going in the trashThe description reads "small" but it doesn't give dimensions, the clock is about 3"x3", not a chance I could read the temperature from across a small nursery! It's cute and the colors are fun, but you can't select one color it just cycles through all of them....and the face of the clock did not work upon arrival, so I ended up returning it anyway.

I was looking for bristle blocks at target and when I saw these I thought they would be just as good. Nope.They are horrible. I couldn't get them to stay together and build anything so I know my 18 month old wouldn't get much out of it.She liked dumping them out of the tub and that's about it.To top it off you had to get them in the tub in a very exact way otherwise the lid wouldn't shut again.It was a complete waste of money.
got it as a gift from a friend of mine for my 2 yrs 10 mths daughter. She is really good with lego and can even do 100 pcs puzzles w/o help. but when it comes to this toy, she gets really frustrated. Even an Adult have difficulties in putting the pieces on and off. and it is difficult to know whether the pieces can stick together from its side. It is not as simple nor straight-forward as Lego.
another BIG annoyance is putting the pieces back in its box, You have to stick the pieces really neatly to get the lid clicked. which also brings a big frustration to my kid.
parents skip this and stick to the ol' reliable Legos or something that shaped similar.

While this product looks great on TV, the pieces are a little harder to put together to make things.My 2 yr old has a hard time, my 3 yr old does a little better, but not much, and I have an average time getting the pieces to lock in place to make fun items to put on the activity table. Legos are much easier.

I got the table for my grandson and he does try to play with it, but it is so hard to get the pieces together there is no way you can actually build anything. They have to attach just right at the perfect angle or they don't connect. I"m so sorry I wasted my money on these. I should have stuck with Leggo's.

It is hard to tell from the picture but this table is short.My daughter is average height for a one year old and she has to hunch over to play with the toys.On the activity table side there is a rolly ball, a gear that turns and moves balls in a circle, a shape sorter with 3 shapes, a sliding monkey, a switch that makes a roller spin, a small flip book, and a phone.The phone is about the only toy my daughter is interested in.I only has 3 sounds, all LOUD and there is no volume control.We have not played with the gear side very much but we noticed that the gears do not stay in place very well when you try to spin them. Also, this activity table comes with a lot of pieces and there is not a good place to store them, especially when the activity table side is up and the gear side is down.

This isn't a toy, fyi. I mean, it has scissors inside along with instruments that could harm them. I wouldn't give this to my kid. However, if old enough, I'd love for them to have this. I chose as a cupcake theme gift and they will love it. It's adorable and I'm going to get one for myself. The instruments are surprisingly durable. I bought it for the packaging of the instruments but they look like they could hold up great.

LEGO Duplo My First Set (5416)
I am shocked at the reviews for this product.Nearly every review mentions the fact that the product is "over-priced for the number of blocks you get" or "you may want to skip this product and buy the deluxe duplo set".I totally agree!This was definitely the most disappointing toy under the tree this year.Our little guy was graduating from Mega-Blocks to Legos and we put this on his wish list.Based on the nearly "5-star" reviews we chose this "first set".But 30 blocks doesn't build much folks.That is nearly $1.00 per block if you exclude the bucket they come in.
We are VERY disappointed in the value of this toy.Before you believe the other "5-Star" reviews, read them carefully.Nearly every one of them states "few blocks for the money" and/or "looking to get more blocks".I am not sure why they gave it "5-stars" if they thought the toy was insufficient for the price or play value.
If you need an expensive bucket to hold Lego's, then this product may be just what you need.

A small complaint is that the lid is too hard for my son to open on his own, so we don't usually close it tight.Although, this could be a good feature if you needed to be sure the lid stayed on during travel or other circumstances.

If I'd paid $26 for this small set of Legos, as some reviewers have, I would feel so ripped off. But I paid less than half that, noted the amount of pieces in the box, decided to purchase two boxes at the same time rather than one. There's totally not enough pieces in one box (and there's barely enough in two). After all, I grew up with Legos and remember how lame they can be if you don't have enough pieces. Really, a truly fine Lego Duplo Set needs in excess of 200 pieces, in my opinion. However, I didn't want to just run out and spend 80-something dollars on a huge set only to find that my kids cared nothing for Legos.
Each box in 'My First Set' contains a pretty fun mix of pieces of 33 pieces; a window, a doorway, one of each color of the 'double' length (eight dot) pieces, two of each color of the 'single' length (four dot) pieces. Two pieces with eyes, a couple novel pieces (that can be used to make a bird), a red and blue flower, and one gray cat. Since my days of Legos where the pieces only came in red, blue, green and yellow, three new standard colors have been added; orange, light blue, and spring green. It makes a huge difference aesthetically.
These pieces, while nice, are just not enough. I emphasize the need to buy two sets, which is about what you'd pay for the 71-piece set anyway. Double the pieces, and you actually have enough to make small building facades or a really cool robot, or various small animals. My 4-year old is able to make more complex objects. The 2 year old just likes to put the pieces together and pull them apart in random order and say 'I building!' They both love the cat that comes with it too. Both children seem enthusiastic enough about these two small sets, and are entertained for about 30 minutes at a time before erupting into a huge fight over the pieces. We'll definitely be getting more down the road.
I think two of these sets, bought at a reasonable price, are a fine introduction to the world of Legos for a young child. Maybe somewhat less so for two small children :) 66 pieces is a reasonable amount to start with, but I'd shop around for a fair price it is out there. I would highly recommend this to other parents introducing Legos to their young toddlers and preschoolers.
By the way, this particular set of Legos was made in Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, & Mexico. Of note is the fact that it was not made in China which I think is a big point in its favor.

We have several sets of these Duplos and they are still loved and played with by kids even when they get older.To be honest, they're wonderful to build huge towers with them, and the older kids also add the smaller legos for bridges, roads, etc.They're just great fun, will last a lifetime and the price here is great on them too.They're still loved in this house highly recommend!

We got this "My First Lego Duplo" set in December 2008 for our twins because our older son loved his starter box of Lego Duplos when he was the same age (about a year and a half old).In 2004, it cost about fyfteen bucks on sale (normally twenty) for a starter box/chest that contained 140 blocks. I have searched high and low, and that same plastic chest with 140 blocks is nowhere to be found.
Instead we got the current version of the starter Duplo box. The blocks themselves are great -the few of them that there are. This rectangular bucket, which is just slightly smaller than the earlier chest, contains just 33 blocks, which don't build very many things and nothing big.
That's a small fraction of the quantity for the same price.
Later I found that the closest thing to our old 140 block chest is the bulk set of 144 blocks without a storage chest for around f0rty bux via online or mail order. DUPLO Bulk Set
So although our children like the Duplos (even my older son still uses them more than four years later) and they never break or wear out, boo to Lego for its stinginess to kids.
Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway - 5-in-1 Track Layout Pack
I made the mistake of buying seperate pieces & different expansion sets to the initial Figure 8 wooden track before getting this 5 in 1 set.I had wanted this 5 in 1, but it kept being unavailable & then the price skyrocketed.Eventually I was able to buy from Amazon & I have to say while it may seem pricey this is definitely the way to go.You can never have enough of the 3 1/2" round corners & for some reason they are hard to find in the expansion sets. The 2 elevated structures are very nice & are not frustrating like others when you try to go for the elevated tracks.These are solid & don't seem to have trains fall of as easy as other one's we've tried. Also, you can have tracks go under them which is pretty neat.Please note you will need the hill type track (sorry can't think of the word) to be able to have it go from up to down smoothly.There are 2 in this package you may want to get more.Again, this is the way to go if you are either buying your first set of wooden tracks or expanding on a starter wooden track.You get a lot of tracks & a good variety. Buying this pack saves you money b/c of the variety & # of tracks you get.I wish I would have found it sooner. NOTE:try to wait for the price to be under $65.00.I have seen this set to up to $138.00 & down to in the $50.00 range.Good luck!
The wooden tracks are played w/ everyday & to me are so educational & fun.I HIGHLY SUGGEST this 5 in 1 track set as well as all wooden Thomas items.Kids love them & again I can't emphasize enough how much they get played w/ & are also educational. I, too, wish the cost wasn't as high, but you get the quality you are paying for & this is by far played w/ more than a lot of other toys.

The quality is great and my son loves to play with it. The only complaint I have is with the risers. I have the same beef with the other risers we have too. When an engine is pulling more than one car, the cars derail almost every time the train is sent up or down a riser. It's very frustrating for my two year old (and me!). The steep angle is the culprit. The wheels come off the track because there isn't enough movement with the magnet couplings. Interestingly, the demo set at the toy store doesn't have this problem. I bought this as an extension to a Thomas and Friends set we had, figure eight, was fine, and my 22 month old son liked it, but he was limited in what layouts he could make. Now he has a lot more track and can make much more interesting layouts. He's happy!

I bought this because I was intrigued by the use of LEDs instead of Flourescent light.You can get a flourescent one for half what I paid for this which will be better constructed and produce more light.

Verry unhappy with this light the 90 LED light is a joke very dim, the cover won't stay open when you want to use the magnifier lense, and the lens is junk too. You can only focus in the very center of the lens.

This lamp is exactly as described. The light is white/blue that is the nature of the cool led light (there are warm led lights you have to aelect a lower lumen number if you want warm golden light similar to a regular light bulb. I use both types, bright white is preferred for some hobbie applications)Strong construction, adjustable and easily lockable and hold position. The LED lights give an even bright white illumination. Not as bright as a Halogen light, but LED lights do not get hot, so advantage to not get burned adjusting lamp, but a little less brightness than halogen.The magnifier is excellent 5x and its a Large size lens. (i found the 5x lens was too strong for me to work with a sewing machine, the placement made images too large to work with for long periods....but 5x would obviously be desiredl for other application that require high magnification. I just had no reference to what 5x "looked like" and found after getting another magnifier that 3x works best for me at the sewing machine for long times without making my eyes tired) that doesn't reflect badly on the lamp.....I would definitely recommend it for other uses. If you want 5x and bright/blue'ish/cool colored light is what you need for your use.
Looks exactly like picture. May not blend in with elegant room decor but is not ugly. The design is efficient and practical, not Philippe Stark stylish. I did take off the plastic cover over the lens, it didn't stay open at an angle and kept closing. Not smart design. But it easily pops out and I kept it off when testing it out.
Do you research and learn the differences in the new LED lights and the quality and "color" of light they emit. I use bright LED dimmable strip lights in under kitchen areas and use the "warm" LED's in rooms of my house for a more flattering light, easier on the skin and eye.

I bought this for my 3 year old son, and it's been a huge hit.He uses it on a tabletop, in it's folded state, as he likes to turn it around so he can access different sides.When it's attached to a table it's not as easy to get to the back side.The elevator works well for the most part, but can be finicky at times.The main issue with this toy is the curved ramp.Larger cars will often get stuck about half way down because the curve is too tight.Average size cars work fine, it's just the largest that have a problem.If your kiddo's favorite car is larger than normal, you may want to look at another play set.
I'm not sure why there's a "gun" on this toy.It's modeled after a water hose, but just seems like an odd addition to me.Not every toy needs to shoot something.

Totally my fault, but I didn't notice before ordering it how this thing connects to a table ledge.The connection point is a little wiggly, and the overall build quality is average at best.I don't like how the truck often doesn't make it all the way to the bottom of the ramp.The elevator thing often gets stuck in the shaft.But my son loves it, despite its faults.He can't really do much with it on his own, but he'll grow into it, I guess.I probably wouldn't buy it again, but if my son heard me say that, he'd cry.That's okay, I think Santa gave it to him, anyway.

I didnt realize this was a MatchboxproductVSHotwheels -nor did Iexpect such a difference.My olderboyshadall the HOT WHEELSCITY when they were younger I was looking for thosepieces butfound this, looked good.The cars dont run smoothly down the tracks and the elevator bit italmost impossible toget up and down and get the car out to go anywhere.The claw also doesn't do much either seem like itshould behooked to a helicopter or something.
The shooting water dartwas the only fun part if you can get the cars to roll all the waydown the ramp.
We are having more fun with the big bag of hotwheel tracks making our own race courses.

Gund Snuffles 8" Plush - Medium, Tan
Snuffles is still very cute; but be aware that the old Gund 8" size is not the same as this one. I also purchased a white 8" Snuffles from another vendor (item # 15164 on the Gund website; "30th Anniversary edition"). This Snuffles (#4030267), and its white counterpart (#4030266), are the same size, and are deemed "new" on the Gund site; the older model (#15164) is taller (a true 8") and heftier, and a bit cuter, in my opinion. Keep that in mind if you, like me, want two (or more) of the same size bears in different colors. It's silly that Gund calls them both 8". The tan one pictured here (#4030267) seated, from head to bum, is 7" tall. His chest is also about 1" narrower (measuring across just above his arms) than the older white 8" Snuffles. The vendor The Jungle Store was helpful in trying to determine why the two bears are different, but whomever she contacted, and she herself didn't seem to have access to complete product information. I figured it out myself by going to Gund's website, looking at the item #s, and confirming with Gund.
I'm not sure how they measure 8", but it is certainly not 8" tall when seated as shown. The quality was fine. I returned it and ordered the 13" white one. It was gigantic, in comparison and much more what I expected.

Desktop Water Fountain - Buddha
This fountain was not really what I was hoping for, the light is not bright at all, just a little led. It makes no water noise at all, but that being said, the motor was completely silent as well. I would not recommend this for someone looking for a "zen" fountain.
I bought this last year. It still works perfectly! I've accidentally let it run dry a few times and it didn't kill the motor. I add a tablespoon of bleach twice a month to keep it from getting dirty. This fountain runs non-stop on my dresser and it's never given me any problems. The light even still works! WELL WORTH BUYING!!!You get what you pay for. Not that great of an item. doesn't have much power and the motor is noisy.
