On the shelf above my desk hooked up to a foot switch I seven illuminated globes. Two illuminated constellation globes, Uncle Milton's "Moon in my room" with the guts ripped out and replaced with mini LEDs hanging on the wall, a medium sized antique-look globe, a five-inch blue physical relief globe, and now this globe. All but the five inch models run on LEDs so they pull under 10 watts total by the way. To modify this one for LED I had to find the smallest LED I could and shave a tiny bit off the edges of the bottom with a pocketknife by the way, but I'm trying really hard to stay on Al Gore's good graces and LEDs use less than half the juice of even CFLs.This globe is the nicest of my collection by far, and the most unique globe I've ever seen. Almost the size of a beach ball, so there's room for all kinds of details on the globe, including stuff like prevailing ocean currents. It even comes with a booklet explaining longitude and latitude and such. Looks great in the dark. Of my three full sized illuminated globes (three are only five inches, the other two about eight inches), none of them have a tilt feature. They're positioned on the earth's standard axis, but no tilt and I think the wiring running through the base would preclude that option, so looking over what's currently the only other review I figured I'd add in yet another two cents on the point.
Looking over my reviews, someone left a comment describing the globe they received as paper that doesn't match evenly at the equator. Uneven quality or some other explanation springs to mind as an explanation, but looking at my globe closely it's unusual that the equator isn't covered by a band or tape layer like my other globes, though from any distance the slight gap looks just like an equatorial line. Looking over the whole globe closely my two printed hemispheres do meet precisely on each side of the equator.

the crease where the 2 hemispheres meet is very noticeable, at least on mine. Subtract 1 star for it. Otherwise, satisfied.Save $0.04 Off
I ordered this illuminate globe from Amazon.com and received it today. I really wanted to like this globe it was to be an integral part of my man cave décor.Unfortunately it is a disappointment and I am at a loss as to why it has so many positive reviews.It simply looks cheap.Problem one:
The photo on Amazon inexplicably does not show this, but the power cord for the light in this globe does not come discretely out of the base of the globe, where it could be hidden by positioning.Instead it comes out of the bottom of the "C" support that suspends the globe above the base.This means that the power cord, no matter how you place the globe on your desk, will dangle several inches for all to see. Tacky. The illustration on Amazon has been 'doctored' to hide this.
Problem two:
the equatorial dividing line where the two hemispheres of the globe are joined, is very prominent when the globe is lit from the interior light.This simply looks like a seam that has not been joined in a craftsman like fashion.
There are also several minor blemishes which I could have lived with,but my main complaint is that this productis that it is not worth the asking price and I feel like I have been cheated.

My 14-month-old grandson is obsessed with our real laptops. Loves to bang on a real keyboard and see images on the screen. We bought this for our grandchild when he stays the weekend with us. He was 10 mos. when we purchased it, he is now one and still loves it. He was always coming over and hitting the keys on our laptop and also on his daddy's lap top who works from home. Now he has his own laptop and he does the same thing, but the laptop responds back to him depending on the key or keys hit and so he plays with it for 30 minutes or more. He loves to open and close it to hear the all the different responses. Quite often he will play with it in bed at night until he falls asleep. I think this is a great toy for mimicking our daily lifestyle since we must use the computer for work at home. He thinks he is doing the same thing and leaves our laptops and us alone for a good amount of time so that we can work from home with less interruptions. I highly recommend this toy, it stimulates the child for a longer then normal amount of time and it is very educational at the same time.

Guidecraft Safari Extra Chair Set - Set of 2
We bought these for our two year-old grandson to use at his Duplo/Lego play table.They are the perfect height for the table and for a two year-old. They are attractive with the safari animals which he enjoys. They are sturdy enough to hold Grandpa and Grandma when we visit and want to join him in playing Duplo. One year later, and these chairs are in use every day!
The parents put them at a low table next to the dining room table and our grandson sits there for his meals.
It makes him happy to be able to seat himself without being lifted into a booster seat or high chair.

Chuggington Interactive All Around Railway Set
My son got this train set for his 3rd Birthday. He is a HUGE Chuggington fan. There are some very nice things about this set, and some not so nice things.On the plus side, the trains and the larger elements (train shed, crane, gate) are all battery operated, and have some sort of proximity sensor. When they get near each other, interesting things happen. Each item has a few different pre-recorded sounds and phrases. When Wilson gets near Action Chugger, for example, they might say hi to each other.
The recognition of the toys for each other is a cool feature, and my son absolutely LOVES it!
On the other hand, the track is a bit of a pain. The snap connection for the tracks is a little hard to figure out, though shockingly my 3 year old son is able to put them together (though not take them apart). There's an elevated corkscrew which is a great idea, but the supports aren't solid enough (in terms of their connections to other pieces) to hold up to play, the pieces kept coming apart for us and having to be put back together.
The plastic train cars have some nice detail to them. However they have a ball-and-socket style joiner which you snap together, which I really don't like. There are other age-appropriate trains which have magnetic couplings which I think are much friendlier.
All in all, if you have sixty dollars you want to spend on train toys, I might encourage you to take a closer look at other options.
Pro:
Neat sensors in major pieces detect other pieces / trains and say appropriate phrases
Nice details on the trains and some of the other pieces
Individual pieces seem sturdy enough
Con:
Track is a bit hard to assemble / disassemble sections
The elevated section doesn't seem to stay assembled well during play
I personaly don't like the ball-and-socket style couplings used on the trains.

Do not buy this toy. It's frustrating to put together. It is so poorly made, the tracks don't stay connected very well. They run on Thomas tracks so buy the trains individually. PROS: Totally interactive. My son *is* a fan of moving the train by himself, so this isn't an issue. He gets excited when he hears the phrases and music. It promotes his imagination in that regard and he develops story lines with the trains. I haven't seen him do that with his other sets.CONS: The trains snap onto the carts and eachother with a plastic ball (not the magnet) this is actually kind of tough to snap and unsnap and frustrates my son.
The plastic track pieces are on the flimsy side and are not easy to snap into place. It took me a while (reading the directions and looking at the box) to figure how to rig up the twisty ramp, which isn't all that stable especially when you have a kid pushing a train along...But when you move away from wood to plastic all of them seem cheaper by comparison.
Recommendation: On clearance, this set is a steal. I would definitely consider giving this one as a gift to a child aged 2-3 in the "pre-motorized" age group as the trains must be moved manually.
This set has three "stops" (most seem to have one or none) and my son stops his train to play at all three. He likes to put the trains to bed and wake them up at the roundhouse. He loads the carts at the loading dock trying to use the pincher and get them to drop into place really allow him to practice dexterity. And he even likes the station at the top of the ramp because he can close the gate on them and not let the train pass. I like that he is engaged and that the phrases encourage him to stop and "do something" at the different zones. It is also nice because he doesn't miss out on having someone else play with him or help direct his play because of the interactive nature of the toy.
We have the famous blue train and my son has fun with that because he can make his own tracks the wooden pieces are easy for him to place, but he loses interest after the set is up on his table for a few days. We have the "cars" track which my son loves because he can race all his favorite characters from the movie along the track by remote control but this requires help from mommy or daddy and isn't something he can do by himself at 2 and a half years old. I think this Chuggington set supplements what we already have and is really in its own class.
I will caution like all other train sets to enhance play (ie. keep it interesting) you will likely have to shell out more money to buy the other trains and to add "stations" (like the rock quarry, etc.) However, that said, all sets seem to grow and the components for interactive Chuggington can be bought at discount stores for a lot less than the "blue" wooden one.
UPDATE: I have found lots of other engines and the quarry and chug wash at Marshalls, so keep an eye out in discount stores for reduced price add-ons. Also, we've had the set up and down at least three times since we purchased it in April and thus far it has held up really well. Usually after a few weeks when the interest has sort of slumped, we switch out the track on the train table but I noticed my son keeps pulling the engines out to make a long train stretch across his room, so I definitely feel the other trains are a good investment.

This set consists of 4 major components: The roundhouse with interactive Vee, interactive Wilson which adds some value to an expensive set, a bi-level loop with elevated pickup point, and a crane station.While overall the set is enjoyable, there are some major flaws: Interactive Vee, while impressive in many ways such as the lighted voice loop, has a somewhat limited vocabulary for the center piece unit of the set.The US voice of Vee pails by comparison to her UK counterpart, and the overall voice acting is poor.The major loop feature, while interesting, is very unstable and requires constant repair by an adult in order for play to continue unabated.It would have been a simple fix to make a stable single base for all the elements of the loop.Home hobbyists can correct this oversight with sheet of hard plastic and some epoxy resin.The pickup station at the top of the loop, while appreciated, is simple and unexciting.The crane lacks a joint to make it mobile enough for enjoyable use and Vee interacts with the crane poorly. The tracks themselves are not pretty, but have some give which makes them forgiving for toddler use.The roundhouse, other than the Vee voice, is inferior to the die-cast set in that it lacks bay doors and only has 3 bays.The Vee figure does not "snap tight" to the roundhouse and is constantly falling over.
Fortunately, it is still possible to have a 5-star experience with this set by also buying the interactive Chug wash set.That adds a washer that interacts beautifully with Vee, and a fill up station that also interacts very well with Vee.It also doesn't hurt to buy lots of box cars to go along with your favorite engines.The sum of the Train depot and Chugwash sets are greater than their individual parts, and this is definitely by design.Be prepared to fork out the big bucks for some grade A fun.My 3-year-old played with the set all day long and I could overlook the short cominings of the set because of that.
Update: The interactive feature is nice but the track mostly sits there after about a week.For longer interest consider whether you would be more happy with a wooden train set and table.I upgraded to wooden and sorta wish I had this money to use to buy all the cool wood sets out there, but on the other hand I would have never known until I owned.We did get thier interest back by making the set into a simple loop on tiny coffee table, and getting rid of all the elevated parts.Simple is better!
The train table braced the old Chuggington set nicely, and it no longer collapses during play.My 3-year old spotted a brio starter forest set at TOyz R Us and I picked it up for 14 dollars.He played with it by flashlight.It was Christmas all over again.

Professional Mahjong Game Table Cover - 3 Feet Wide
Professional gaming? I bet these people took a doormat, put it in horrible plastic wrap and shipped it off as a mahjong table cover. Don't buy this. The pictures mislead you into thinking there is a case for this. There isn't. There is a plastic wrap that arrived already broken and it is impossible to take the "table cover" out without cutting the wrap. It arrives rolled up and when playing Mahjong, you literally have to place something heavy on the sides so it doesn't roll back into a cylinder.I had to content with rolling it up and carrying it around tied with a rubber band. This is not worth it's price. Buy a doormat.
I've had this mat for years and have loved every minute of use. It does come packed in a thin plastic case, but for me it was such a pain getting it in and out of the case that I took a yoga strap and roll up the mat (similar to how I roll my yoga mat) and use the strap to hold it shut. Unlike the poor review posted, it certainly isn't a door mat. It has laid down flat for me each and every time. I can see if you roll it with the rubber side out to protect the mat it will create some issues, but I always roll it with the mat side on the outside of the roll. It's easily washable and looks good each time. It doesn't fuzz like felt, no edges to tug around, and is just the right thickness for playing maj. I have gotten so many compliments and requests to bring along my mat to use. The only draw back to the mat is price. It has a bit higher price, but has lasted me for more than four years now and looks just as good as the day I bought it. I can honestly recommend the mat, its use for maj, and the investment.

My daughter loves C-3PO, whom she calls "Pee-Po."After we found one at Wal-Mart that she adored but subsequently lost, I scoured the Internet for a replacement and found this one.It's basically the same doll, in a slightly different pose, and she loves it.It's soft so she sleeps with it and it thankfully makes NO NOISE (parents, you know where I'm coming from on this).I recommend it.And the seller was prompt and responsive also.
Alpine Wave Slide - Green
I purchased this as an additional slide to the swingset I purchased at Costco. That set has the perfect location to add the slide with only slight modification. I will say the I didn't purchase the slide at amazon but rather at home depot for 150.00. It's by the same company Swing N Slide but HD carries it as timber built model # TB-1403. Maybe I could have tried price matching with amazon but I wanted it then and there and I had it installed in under 15 min.As far as the other review saying it's flimsy; well it's just a big piece of plastic, but it holds up to 250 pounds and my kids will outgrow it long before they weigh 250 either combined or individually.I have not had any issues with it and used as a slide it is very sturdy after it's installed properly, which by the way only requires four screws and a good platform to attach it to from 54" to 60" (4'6" to 5') in height. Some 2X4 pieces may be needed to attach the slide but it wasn't needed for the Costco set I have.I have added my own photo to the amazon listing so you can see it. Now I only need about a ton of rubber mulch to put down for in all the fall areas for safety.
When well installed the slide is amazing and very sturdy and solid.
I would recomend this slide to everyone.

Lots of fun to use, but unless they use stronger materials for this mic it won't last long enough!! They use thin plastic for the poles which can easily crack under little pressure.
We couldn't wait for this purchase and it was a big disappointment. I don't think this lasted for more than a day. It didn't work well and broke immediately. I would not recommend this product.

Sigh... this is such a great toy.My 5 & 3 year old LOVE IT.They give speeches all the time -"peaches" the three year old says -and I love listening them rattle on about nothing in particular.The PROBLEM is that the thingy that holds the mic in, just isn't strong enough.I can say this WITH CONFIDENCE, because it wasn't my kids who broke it.It was me, and I DID NOT force the mic into the holder.I just slid it in as I had done many other days, and this time the holder gave way and split.I glued it back together, but now it's weak and keeps breaking.I'm resorting to blue duct tape next, which will probably work, but will look ugly as heck.Oh well... my kids still love it.I cannot say I regret buying it, but I can say I regret that it was not made properly.I love Bontempi otherwise, we have several of their instruments, which have upheld well.Purchase with caution!

My son LOVES WWE right now. So of course he basically had a WWE christmas this year. The table and ladder accessories are one thing that he had on his list that he really wanted since the few wrestling ring set ups he had didn't come with them. Online seemed to be the only place I could find the serparate accessories and they aren't cheap. THought this was an OK deal being $8 .. but then I ended up paying like a total of $15 after shipping. so still wasn't cheap for what they were. But he was thrilled when he got them. Only downfall was that the table doesn't "break" like I thought it would.. He had to hit it hard enough where I was worried he would break the plastic instead of the part where its meant to break away. My husband did a little revising to it and made it easier to come apart. Realistically when my son is playing with his wrestling guys if he drops a guy on it I would expect it to break away without a ton of force. The ladder is so far holding up better but still pretty cheaply made. I guess I kind of expected a little more durable plastic knowing it would be used with the WWE guys. Brio My First Railway 15 Piece Train Gift Set
I think this is a great toy for kids 18 months and above.We bought this when our girls were 12 months, and they definitly did not appreciate it (we should have listened to the box!) until they were 18 months old.I would advise buying additional track which isn't too expensiveour kids became bored with the amount of track with this set, and I would buy some extra trains or engines.Before investing in all the other Brio products, I'd make sure your kids like this set first.This seems to be a good "foundation" for starting a Brio collection.
Having grown up with Brio toys I wanted my son to have his first train set for his first birthday. It definetly took him a couple of months to start playing with it and now at 18 months he plays with it daily. The track is simple as small enough for a small child and the tunnel seems to be the best part. I think it is great for his fine motor skills.
The set has been very durable and we'll be adding to it this Christmas, in fact asked all the relatives to get a car or two and some extra tracks. I highly recommend this!

This product is extremely well made.Beautiful colors and sturdy.My son loves the Noah's ark theme of animals.As far as the review of pushing a religious them to children, I don't think it is harmful in children being exposed to God their creator.I feel sorry for the children of this world who only seek out Elmo and and worldly idols. I am proud to teach my son that God loves him and he can sit down to a table that reminds him of that love every day.

I purchased this table and chair set for my first Grandchild's second Christmas! I purposefully chose a design that could be for either a girl or a boy as my daughter plans to have more children. Noah's Ark fits this bill perfectly!The quality is superior! It is sturdy, painted with stunnimg colors and quality! I love the fact that art materials can be stored in the center storage sack, whichmakes for easy clean-up!
My Granddaughter is only 16 months old and she can easily get on the chairs and use this table. This table and chairs will be used by her and any future siblings for hours of table-time fun!
I think the only thing I could say is that I wish I could get two more chairs to make a complete set, which may be a possibility, I just have not checked yet! I would recommend this table to others and already have! I was not dissapointed one tiny bit!
