The table itself is heavy and durable and the colors are clear. However, my 3-year-old grandson was critically injured when this table collapsed and trapped him between the table top and the legs. He was life flighted to the hospital in critical condition due to compression on his chest, causing him to stop breathing. If you still want to buy this product, make sure it is only used with CLOSE adult supervision. Be aware that the table and chair legs do not lock into place when closed, so be sure to store it up and way from where your young child may be tempted to try to set it up alone. Also, if the table or chairs are tipped over, the locks that hold them open and in place do not hold. Serious issues that we learned the hard way. The police and hospital both have reported this problem to the manufacturer.

Beautiful set. chair and table lock open for safety. Well constructed, well designed and overall very happy with the purchase. We wanted our daughter to have a table and chair set for drawing, tea parties and such but are very limited in space. This is the quality table that stores easily that we were looking for.

It's a kit (my bad,I didn't read good enough before I bought it) so if you have never done a model make sure you do it on a day that you have a lot of patience or if you are always patient go for it. It's real delicate so would not recommend it for a small child. After assembly it's real cute. I painted mine instead of staining it . Also it's plastic not wood. Great wheel.Looks very sharp.It comes very well packaged. The rake is very small but, I was just looking for the wheel. The pill is actually made of steel and is not ceramic. But the wheel itself is impressive.

This wheel is very nice for the purposes of home entertainment. It is probably half the size of your standard casino wheel. The center spins effortlessly and the metal ball that comes with it is of high quality. The color is slightly different from the picture being a more bright wooden brown as well as the edge being flat not slanted down as the image depicts. The felt bottom is great as it prevents any unnecessary movements when touching the wheel. I would recommend this wheel over others listed on Amazon which use deceitful images and are exorbitantly priced.

Pressman Checkers Board Games

I bought this to play checkers with my grandson. I debated between this one and one that was a little more expensive. I wish I'd opted for the other. The board is flimsy and the checkers are thin and hard to stack to make "kings". I would recommend spending a few dollars more and getting something more substantial.

Set was well constructed and exactly as presented. Shipping was prompt and delivery time very acceptable.

Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - Straight And Curved Expansion Pack

This is probably not the best option unless you want to get really serious with a huge layout.Here is my Thomas recommendation:

The Thomas train sets are great modern versions of the classic indestructible wooden train sets.Simple enough to avoid the toddler age frustrations of getting the cars to run on the track yet complex enough to engage a wide range of ages (up to and including Grandpas).All the stories help with the imagination part....the books & videos provide an endless source of adventures that can be acted out, although most kids are perfectly capable of inventing their own episodes.

Here is my advice, if you are trying to work your way through the maze of start-up options:

First of all, you can spend a fortune on a huge set....even if you can afford it, I would start with something small and give the child the joy of receiving a chain of small but intriguing presents over a long period of time.It fosters the joy of giving/receiving and helps teach them to come back again and again to the same toy...watching it grow, asking for specific items from the stories they hear, etc.Several reviewers suggest painting an old coffee table and this is a great idea.

I suggest the Figure 8 set (the most popular one) or if you want to spend a little bit more, the Conductors Figure 8 set.Both are complex enough to be interesting, but simple enough to give lots of room for growth.Almost immediately I would add a new present of one of the inexpensive engines (you can ask the child which story they like best and get that engine for them....or buy the engine to go with the video or book in the same gift)....these would be Percy The Small Engine, Bill The Yellow Engine, Treavor, (or a bit more $ for:) The Lady Engine, James The Red Engine, Gordon The Express Engine (he's one of the best stories, I think), or Henry The Green Engine.

Now for the good stuff!Give it a month or so, and then reward the child with something really cool like the Barrel Loader or Rusty the Construction 3 Car Set.

I honestly can't see the point in the huge multi hundred dollar system sets.If you want to impress the neighbors or something, go for it, but I'm telling you.....most kids will enjoy a large number of small thoughtful gifts, not a "keep-up-with-the-Jones" effort on your part.

Good behavior can be rewarded with a pick-your-own trip to the store (there are sometimes when a real time shopping trip can't be beat)

By the way, the Thomas stories are based on real restored engines that run in England on the Mid-Hants Railway Watercress line near Winchester (you can read about them an even plan a trip to ride on the real Thomas trains by checking outwatercressline.co.uk).They are a day trip from the London rail stations, although I recommend using a B&B in the Winchester area and staying overnight if you decide to go.Winchester was the center of the old Saxon kingdom of Wessex of King Alfred as well as a major early medieval site (the Cathedral has the tombs of many of the Saxon Kings as well as Jayne Austen and Izaac Walton and it was where Richard the Lionhearted was crowned.)

If your familiar with Thomas train track, have a large area to work with and know you want this expansion set, I would upgrade to five stars. What I have found though is that if you want a lot of flexibility in layouts on the Thomas train table, the 3 1/2" curves & switches offer more options for different layouts. The 6 1/2" curves can be hard to fit & work with on a train table. In defense of the bigger curves though, I've found the battery powered trains have an easier time with the larger radius curves especialy when pulling coaches and they sometimes get hung up on the switches. (This really is my kids toy)

This is a good little addition to any track set that you might have, but it would be nice if they added more of the smaller, tighter bends do the set (or made a separate set of them).The larger bends are nice but take up WAY too much space sometimes, where the tighter bends make it easier to fit more track on whatever table you are using.That's about the only complaint I have with this set.The Learning Curve track is still the best quality track, even if it is a little more expensive than some of the "generic" track out there.

This is truly a wonderful toy. Our granddaughter (6 years old) received an earlier version of this toy when she was 2 and played with it for a long time until it wore out. The batteries did not last in this earlier version but they seem to last longer now. The puppy is fun to pull and it barks as you pull the string as well as it plays a variety of music by pressing a colourful button on its back. Unfortunately she dropped her first puppy a number of times on hard floors and first the music stopped then the legs broke with subsequent drops. I don't know whether the plastic just got brittle or it was just not meant to be dropped (little ones do that). She loved it so much that I finally had to find another even though she is 6. This new version with the little puppy added on is even better than its predecessor. I would highly recommend this toy I think it provides hours of rich fun.

My two daughters (3 & 5) love this toy. They play with it more than the other toys they received for their birthday. I'd give this toy 5 stars if they would've given us a little bit longer leash! Even my tiny toddler is hunching over to drag this thing around. It's kind of ridiculous.

I appreciate well-made products, and this one does not disappoint.The discs are real hardwood and the lettering indeed looks as permanent as the wood itself.It will stand up to the rigors of my toddler playing with it, and when he's done it still looks great (and is thought-provoking) when I stack it on my desk.The form is actually playful in its simplicity, it is very much like a child's stack toy.

As hard as it is to imagine the discovery of new elements, with this product it is pretty easy to see how they might fit into the overall table and relate to the other elements.The ordering of the elements and visual appearance of the product bring back mental images of orbital probability fields from high-school chemistry class whenever I look at it, it definitely has affected what I think about when I see the periodic table. Just a quick review to state that mine came in excellent shape with all the symbols & letters burned into the wood in the correct spots so that all a legible. However, the "burn in" was not even as some symbols are very dark while others very light. Also, it would have been nice to finish the wood with shallack or some other poly. It's as if the manufacturer went "half-way".

This is a periodic table.....nothing more. In fact it is less as the atomic weights are missing. I work with High school kids and the atomic weight is needed for many problems. It is great for a paper weight or to learn the basic elements but it really not done correctly. It is "half" good.

Maxim Wooden Train Set, 145-Pieces

This is a fine toy; my kids of different ages enjoy playing with it. However, I wonder if this is the best option for a wooden railroad. If you can afford a more expensive brand, perhaps with fewer pieces, get it instead. The track pieces are plain wood, not covered by any stain. One of pieces of the track broke already when the kids tried to disconnect them. The painted pieces get dented very easily. Of the 145 pieces quite a few are stand-alone pieces and are not part of the track or the trains (road signs, animals, etc). The provided layout seems to be missing one support, judging both from trying to make it stable and from comparing the photo of the completed set on the box and the layout. The kids still enjoy it, but I am a bit disappointed with the whole value.

I bought this train set for my son when he was 2 years old. Of all the sets on the market at the time, it was the largest and most complete set I could find. I'm so glad I did the large one because it has allowed for more creativity has he has gotten older. Not one piece has broken in 2 years. When he was 2 years old, he would sometimes get frustrated when the raised up track pieces would fall. I have heard of some parents nailing them together, but we didn't do that. Eventually we bought a battery operated train engine for the set and that renewed the fun. Now I have the set in a rubbermaid container so it's ready to walk out the door when we go to a friends house who doesn't have toys.It's great for cooperative play too!

This was a Christmas gift for our son. Took us an hour and a half to put together.Not the best instructions.On Christmas morning, he had it torn apart in two min.But he does enjoy making his own tracks, and such.He is almost 4 and it's a little to comlex for him to put back together by himself.When the track is set up how it's supposed to be can be a little flimsy, but overrall it's a fun toy for a little boy!Apart it's a great way for them to create the "city, track" they want.

Next time a disagreement came up, she would have the choice of having her way or keeping it for something even bigger and better later. I wasn't sure at first how long it would take for the girls to catch onto the Pocket Referee, or if they would accept that you had to abide by the choice the other child made...but after maybe 3 uses, they got it. They are learning to become independent problem solvers and actually have fun using the coin. It seems to make them feel empowered and we have less of the 'that's not fair' whine that can come after Mom or Dad makes the decision for the kids. I highly recommend this product.

The coins have proven to be very effective, but in a way that I never imagined.I have three kids so I bought both the gold and silver coins.The two oldest kids are so motivated to keep the two coins, that they end up giving in to my 5 year old son pretty much all the time.The coins have only changed hands a few times, but there have definitely been less arguments over the past few weeks.Even if you have three kids, I would highly recommend the Pocket Referee.It has greatly reduced the number of petty arguments in our house!

As the title says, unfortunately I now have problems 3 weeks after receiving it. I went to set the clock for daylight savings and it would not let me. Then I tried using the stopwatch timer function, and that is not working either.

I thought maybe it's the battery, since the one they give you with it is a generic-looking one, but even putting in a brand-new known brand C cell doesn't help. One thing I noticed when I replaced the battery is that I get a high pitched static sound for about 5 seconds, then it goes away. I don't recall that happening the first time I put the battery in.

Anyway, I stupidly threw away the box it came in so I now have to send it back to Accusplit instead of returning to Amazon. I called the support number to see if there was any thing else I could try, and although the gentleman I spoke to was nice he didn't even try to help. He just immediately gave me the address to send it back to.

I will update this review once I get my clock back from Accusplit.

As of now I'm very disappointed that it didn't even last a month.

We have this pink picnic table and absolutely love it.It is so strong, sometimes us adults even sit on it.It folds up very conveniently and we just set it up and take it down whenever we have lots of kids over.The pink is very pretty, my girls love it.We have a couple of these and they have become a staple for whenever we have guests.

2-Sided State Quarter Jigsaw Puzzle 500pc

I'm a puzzle lover and a state quarters enthusiast so I couldn't help but buy this puzzle when I saw it.My anticipation level was high when I received it and quickly began piecing it together.It took me about four hours to finish and it was overall a satisfying and fun experience.

So, the good bits:The detail on each quarter is fun to piece together.Often you'll find yourself looking at just a few letters and deciphering which quarter "SACH" belongs to, for example.The word puzzles inside the jigsaw puzzle were fun to complete.As the puzzle comes together you enjoy that sense of satisfaction that good puzzles give you.

Now for the disappointing items:

1.The jigsaw piece design is not good.Far too many pieces simply butt up against their neighbors, with no interlocking action at all.Often times you'll find yourself with 7 or even 10 pieces all carefully placed in the proper spot with not a one of them actually connected.An errant bump then ruins the group.I think this problem is due to the round shape of the puzzle but that makes it no less annoying.

2.The double-sided thing is a novelty and nothing more.Initially I was going to solve the puzzle twice, one for each side, but because of the issue above, I decided putting together the less detailed side with no help from the shapes of the pieces would be way more frustrating than fun.The colors wouldn't really help either-just a bunch of different shades of grey.I ended up solving only the detailed side.

3.The manufacturer committed a serious mistake.They chose to use the "good" side of the puzzle for the bad design (the single quarter).If you look at a normal puzzle piece up close, you'll see there is a glossy side with the image on it and a plain cardboard side.The glossy side's edges are rounded down as a result of the cutting process (the entire puzzle is "punched" in one blow) which makes the pieces easy to handle and nicely fit together.The cardboard side is completely flat.With this puzzle, they applied a glossy backing to the bottom of the puzzle and put the detailed design on the bottom!So the fun side to solve is actually on the bottom of the puzzle as it relates to how the puzzle was punched and as a result it's simply not as fun to put together as it could have been had they switched the two sides and put the good design on the top.Or even better, dispense with the gimmicky double sided feature and just give us a high quality one-sided state quarters puzzle.

4.The price dropped by $7 (almost 50% off) a week after I ordered it.

It's no trouble at all to determine which pieces belong on which side of the reversible puzzle.

But.

Once you assemble a state's quarter, you can not move it, except piece by painstaking piece.Because... the pieces don't interlock.

Maybe it's more of an issue around here, where my family of boys likes to tackle puzzles together.Let me tell you, if one child has gone to the trouble to assemble Delaware and another child picks Delaware up to fit it in the larger puzzle, and Delaware crumbles... this is not a peaceful puzzle.

Alpine Wave Slide - Green

I purchased this as an additional slide to the swingset I purchased at Costco. That set has the perfect location to add the slide with only slight modification. I will say the I didn't purchase the slide at amazon but rather at home depot for 150.00. It's by the same company Swing N Slide but HD carries it as timber built model # TB-1403. Maybe I could have tried price matching with amazon but I wanted it then and there and I had it installed in under 15 min.

As far as the other review saying it's flimsy; well it's just a big piece of plastic, but it holds up to 250 pounds and my kids will outgrow it long before they weigh 250 either combined or individually.I have not had any issues with it and used as a slide it is very sturdy after it's installed properly, which by the way only requires four screws and a good platform to attach it to from 54" to 60" (4'6" to 5') in height. Some 2X4 pieces may be needed to attach the slide but it wasn't needed for the Costco set I have.I have added my own photo to the amazon listing so you can see it. Now I only need about a ton of rubber mulch to put down for in all the fall areas for safety.

I purchased this slide to add to the playset we purchased at costco.

When well installed the slide is amazing and very sturdy and solid.

I would recomend this slide to everyone.

My 22 month old girl received this for Christmas and when I first purchased it, I was a bit skeptical of the quality considering it's inexpensive price tag.But when my husband pulled it out of the box and put it together, I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy it was and at all the cute accessory pieces that come with it...you just can't go wrong with this nursery center.My daughter really loves it and plays with it every day.The little high chair and mobile do come off easily but are also easily reattached.It provides everything a little baby doll needs...a place to sleep (my little one uses it as a changing table too!), a little tub, a feeding area, and lots of accessories.If you're considering buying this,I recommend it. This is a fantastic toy for the price. The size is just perfect for practicing mommies. It comes with various accessories to add to the child's imagination. The hangers are great practice to hang things up with and we do use to hang other dolls clothing. We have added a few other accessories of our own, like a brush and nasal aspirator, etc. I have allowed my daughter to bathe some of her dolls in the bath with just a little bit of water. The mobile has not stayed on for longer than 2 minutes when my daughter plays with it, but she has found other ways to play with the mobile...not just on the nursery center. Toys don't have to be played with the way WE want them to. My only complaint is the high chair. It is an unusual size and most of my 2 year old's dolls are either too big or too small and she gets frustrated because they are either too hard to put in the high chair or don't stay in. I reccommend this toy and find the price to be fantastic.

MEGA Bloks Fill & Dump Wagon

I purchased this about 3 years ago for the grandkids when they came to visit. Its now being played with by grandkids # 4 thru 6 and everyone of them have spent hours with this toy. Its durable--not even a scratch on it and even though a few of the blocks have been lost we just buy another set. It seems to interest kids of all ages although with the younger ones you have to make sure the blocks don't go in the mouth. I don't think I've bought another toy that entertains such a large age span and holds up so well. If you want something that will last a long time this is the toy to get--well worth the money you spend.

These blocks are the perfect size for my littler builder who immediately made his first masterpiece moments after opening the wagon.... my only wish is that there were more blocks.

He also appreciates having a "handy storage" place for his toys... the little guy is fastidious... (yes, I am blessed!)We play "build" and then "throw the blocks into the basket".... so the wagon can double for lots of things.

The handle did fall off though it was easily reattached.I don't think its meant for "heavy duty" play.

I bought this toy for my 13-month old son.He loves playing with the blocks, and it's very durable.However, he also loves climbing into the wagon.It wasn't designed for toddlers to sit inside the wagon, but it's just the right size.The wagon has a way of tipping backward suddenly, and is especially dangerous if someone pulls it while a child is sitting inside.There is a tiny picture on the wagon showing that children are not meant to sit inside.I think that's a bit ridiculous.What child can resist climbing inside a wagon that is the perfect size?So, I'd have to say that I cannot recommend this wagon, only because children are very tempted to use it in ways it was not designed.

We have four kids. And we bought it for our youngest when he turned 2 (now 7) to this day all four kids play with them (ages 12-11-9-7). I have to admit that we had to go out and buy 3 bags extra of the blocks. Not because they got lost or broke but because the kids needed more for their imagination creations. They are easy to find and put away. They are big enough that when you make something the kids can then play with it. We haven't used the wagon for years and now have 2 totes full of the blocks. Any blocks you buy your kids should be big like these. I think that is why they continue to play with them. We have bought some for our neices and nephews who always go straight for the totes when they come here. And once again I am here to get another for my nieces 1 yr birthday present. This is MONEY WELL SPENT...

Wood 3-in-1 Chess Backgammon Table

we bought this table because of the price.i knew it had a laminate finish but didnt realize how poorly constructed it was.it fell apart after being up about an hour.The screws that hold the legs on connect to inserts in the legs.the problem is the the inserts pop right out of the pressboard legs.I am going to have to try to find a way to put in screws and glue on the legs to make it functional.plus the bacgammon play area is really small so you have to use very small discs or they dont fit.next time i would spend more and get a real wood table.

Not sure that I can write a review on this product as Amazon shipped a small wooden table top game rather than the table which I purchased.They did provide a prompt refund as the item which I was to have received was by then out of stock. I did not have the item for Christmas.

A little of our own "Thomas" history... The kid wanted a talking Percy train, and he got one.But the train we received from this shipper is not as pictured in the product listing.It's a "special" talking Diesel Works Percy train.So it looks the same as the regular talking Percy, but says rather boring things about the Diesel Works (not the usual "bust my buffers" etc. that these talking trains do).I would have preferred the train shown in the picture which is the regular talking Percy.It will now be a gift for another boy who won't care that it's not the regular Percy, but I would have probably returned/exchanged it if it was for my somewhat pickier son.

I searched for days for this toy.My 17 month old son has recently developed a love of Thomas and his favorite character is Percy".He had received the Take N Play talking "James" for Christmas and really liked playing with it, so I decided to try and find a "Percy".He has had the toy for three days now and hardly ever puts it down.We have actually had to tell him that "Percy" is tired and has to go to sleep in order to get him to go to bed at night and naptime!
